Hello everyone! So it's been highly HIGHLY requested that I do a Sympathy Card Series - so I'm starting now but like most things I'll be posting all over the place and on no set schedule. When I do post sympathy cards they get tagged in my Sympathy/Get Well Soon category here on my blog, and down the road I'll organize a playlist of all the videos on my YouTube channel.
I used WPlus9's Sympathy Lilies stamp set, stamping the cluster of flowers onto Tonic watercolor paper with Ink on 3 Blackout ink. I then used the new Vickie Boutin tube water-colours (I discuss my thoughts on those in the video - end verdict for me is I've gifted them to my older kids for them to use. They're OK but with all the sets of watercolor that I own now I just know I'm not going to reach for them).
I heat embossed the sentiments from the Sympathy Lilies set onto a vellum and black card stock before wrapping the vellum around the card front and gluing the die cut sentiment over it.
I finished off the inside of the card by inking up the flower stamp with MFT's Field Day dye ink then stamping it off once on scratch paper before stamping it onto the inside of the card. I then stamped the sentiment that's in the Sympathy Lilies set with the Blackout ink and that was it!

I get asked a lot about where to purchase the supplies I use in my videos and blog posts. I list all the supplies I use at the end of my posts (below) or in the description box directly below my video on YouTube. If the products have little icons below the image it means there's more than one place it can be purchased. You can hover over the icons and it will tell you what store that link will take you to. Compensated affiliate links used when possible at no extra cost to you. Affiliate linking is what keeps my blog and YouTube channel up and running and enables me to work from home with my kids! I appreciate your support more than words can say!
I occasionally receive product for free from stores/manufacturer with no obligation on my part to use/review - I only use and share what I personally love. Everything else I purchase myself!
Hey everyone! After all my tech issues related to my computer crashing (no new updates on that since this one <----click) I'm still struggling to get caught up (which is me on a normal day and this has just compounded it a million times). My old Mac is holding up though to me editing and uploading (other than it takes longer as it's slower and I can't multitask like I did before lol) so I am still doing my thing!
My latest obsession is "what will this look like on kraft?" LOL. I've had the Gansai Tambi Pearl colors for some time now and I've played around with them but I was curious to see how they'd look on Kraft card stock. So I pulled out this WPlus9 Beautiful Bouquets: Ranunculus stamp set and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder on Neenah Desert Storm card stock. I then used the Pearl colors to color it in.
I also used the Pearl colors on the die cut sentiment. I used WPlus9's Basic Greetings dies and die cut some Lawn Fawn Guava card stock that I'd run through my Xyron Sticker Marker. After stacking the sentiments I painted on the coral Pearl watercolor to make it shimmery.
I finished the inside of the card with a heat embossed sentiment from the stamp set, and also heat embossed the Ranunculus image onto a SSS Khaki Woodgrain envelope - LOVE how the gold embossing looks on that envelope with the woodgrain!! <3

I created the "patterned paper" background using WPlus9's Holiday Trimmings stamp set and 3 different colors of MFT dye ink.
For my main image I used WPlus9's Holiday Hugs stamp set, and colored it with Copic markers. The sentiment is from the Holiday Trimmings set, and I popped both the sentiment and main image up with Darice Foam strips.
To finish the inside of the card I stamped the main image with Kraft ink then stamped the Holiday Hugs sentiment with black ink and that was it!

Hello everyone! I'm still plugging away at my Christmas Card Series - I have SO many ideas (and SO many stamps and dies....lol) for cards and tags and all sorts of things! I'm at video #15 so far, and the goal is 25 at least! I don't follow any sort of schedule (I swear every time I try life just laughs and says "watch this") so please stay tuned!
The idea for these cards took on a life of it's own as I sat down to make ONE card that was supposed to be traditional watercolor on watercolor paper. That turned into 3 cards all done with pearlescent/metallic/iridescent watercolours lol:
I pulled out the WPlus9 Christmas Rose Bouquet set for these cards, I LOVE this stamp it's just gorgeous. I decided to heat emboss the image onto 3 different colors of dark card stock (blue, green and black) with three different colors of metallic embossing powders (silver, rose gold and gold).
After heat embossing the images I used 3 different FineTec watercolor palettes to color in all the images.
The sentiments are from the WPlus9 Be Merry Sentiments set, and I heat embossed those with the same embossing powder as each image.
For the green card I used Avery Elle Rose Gold embossing powder and the FineTec Iridescent palette. These watercolours have a duochrome look to them so on dark card stock when the light hits it they look like they're glowing!!
For the blue card stock I heat embossed the image with Avery Elle silver embossing powder, then used the large FineTec palette and did more "traditional" colouring.
For the black card stock I embossed the image in Avery Elle gold embossing powder then used my Pearlescent FineTec palette that has the golds and coppers in it.
I used Studio Katia jewels to embellish each card - in real life they catch the light and just play off the metallic/pearlescent of the watercolor and it's just gorgeous!
I finished off the insides of the cards with sentiments from the Be Merry Sentiments set and of course embossed them with the same embossing powders and that was it!

I think I mention in the video that there are other options to these FineTec palette's (though I LOVE these palettes - they're definitely something I'd put on a Christmas wish list ;)) - you can check out some options HERE at SSS <-----click!

Hello everyone! I have another card and video to share with y'all that was thankfully filmed and edited before I caught this rotten cold. As I'm sitting here FULLY enjoying my morning coffee I thought I'd get this post up before I head into the kitchen to start prepping and cooking turkey (Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians!).
WPlus9 asked me to guest design for them last month - which was an "of course" from me LOL. I love their stamps and am always in awe of Dawn (the owner) and her watercoloring (and her card making in general - that woman has some serious talent) as well as the rest of their team and their guests. It's a big honour to be asked back again!
I needed to make a birthday card at the time, and one of my favourite things to create is birthday cards and especially birthday cards that I can customize for the person I'm giving it to. When asked what his favourite colors were I was told "rainbow and gold" (and my response was yassssssss *fist bump* LOL).
I used WPlus9's Friends for all Seasons: Fall stamp set and coordinating dies - I love the little balloons and the adorable bear in the set. I stamped them onto hot press (smooth) watercolor paper and used my Mission Gold watercolors to color them in.
I coloured the balloons in rainbow order of course - red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. The bear I coloured in grey then dropped in some of the balloon colors. Kristina Werner did that on a card recently and I LOVED how it looked so I had to try it out.
On the inside of the card is where I did my personalizing. I have the WPlus9 Whimsy Alphabet stamp set and coordinating dies and just love them - they're PERFECT of course for spelling out names or to make your own sentiments. And of course I had to do the letters in rainbow colors as well!

Hello everyone! I can't believe it's Wednesday already - the kids had a long weekend from school and it threw off my days (literally - I forgot so many things already this week b/c I thought Monday was Sunday and so-on...). So that coupled with just life itself I still find myself completely behind with everything - including this week's Color Throwdown challenge:
I have to admit I was a little stumped for a bit with this color combo (and I didn't do last week's challenge either :( - I've mentioned I've been struggling with time and creative energy and all that - it's been a bit rough). I started coming up with a card idea that in the end took a completely different direction and I ended up creating a holiday card:
This is a 4 Bar Size Card.
I like when that happens. This is one of the reasons why I LOVE the Color Throwdown challenge so much - it gets me thinking outside the box a little and so often the color combos aren't ones I'd ever think of myself - yet LOVE the end result of!!
I used WPlus9's Be Merry Florals set and stamped the images with MFT dye inks onto watercolour paper (which as I say in the video is totally not necessary - just regular white or cream card stock would work fine). My original intent was to spray it with water (like I've done HERE) but I changed my mind and just did more stamping and some splattering of course!
I used WPlus9's 4 Bar Stitched Rectangles Dies (that I LOVE - I like making this size of card sometimes and having these dies just makes me happy LOL) for the main panel, and MFT's Chevron Grid background for the card base.
I of course pulled out my Prima Metallics watercolour for the splatter (pretty much everything is getting that treatment - I'm actually kind of surprised I haven't done it to the walls here.....but then again it's a rental so I'm sure the landlord wouldn't be too happy with me....), and added some splatter to the card base itself. More is more!
I used WPlus9 Be Merry Sentiments for the inside and outside - loving this combination of fonts - this is such a great little set! I embossed the larger words with WOW's Rich Gold Pale embossing powder, and stamped the script ones with SSS Intense Black ink and that was it!

A couple of weeks ago I was a Guest Designer for WPlus9 - how cool is that?! I made these 2 cards with a video for them and have them here to share with y'all again today:
These are 4 Bar Sized Cards.
I used the WPlus9 Holiday Houses set to create these fun winter scenes, and several Distress Inks along with some Copic Opaque White splatter to create the snowy background.
I added Frosted Lace Stickles to give a bit of extra texture and dimension without any real sparkle - the glitter in the Frosted Lace Stickles isn't iridescent like some of the others - it's a white glitter so it totally looks like snow to me!
I finished the insides with some of the remaining stamped and watercolour images, and added a sentiment using the Be Merry Sentiments set.

Hey everyone! So here's the second haul I was referring to in my last post (it was a VERY good happy mail day when I got it all at once!! Overwhelming but the best kind LOL!) - so many awesome goodies. I'm still kicking myself over not ordering the PPP Halloween set (I added links to it so y'all can see what I mean and why I was wanting it!) - but of course the PO is so massively unpredictable. I am curios to see if future orders show up this quickly b/c that would be amazing (I have no patience - though really half the fun is placing the order, waiting for it to show up and then the "surprise" of getting it - LOL I've turned it into a whole experience).
Hello everyone! I hope y'all had a great weekend! I can't believe it's already nearly the 3rd of October (as of my typing this it's late on the 2nd). I have another card for my AmyR 2016 Halloween Card Series - this one being another somewhat-halloween but can technically be for anything:
I used WPlus9's Bunny Mask-erade stamp set to create this card - this set is so beyond adorable I just love it!
I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color in all the images, and also used them to create the galaxy background for the images as well - I gotta say that white splatter is EVERYTHING when creating a galaxy background. When you watch the video you can see how awful it was looking before the splatter totally made it work LOL!
I used more of the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Fall 6x6 patterned paper for this card. For the sentiment I stamped and embossed it using SSS Clear Ink and Ranger's Super Fine Detail white embossing powder - for such a small and detailed sentiment like this you need a powder that's as fine as possible otherwise parts of it end up looking like blobs.
I finished off the inside with the remaining patterned paper and the little watercolored characters and that was it!
