EASY Watercolor with Karin Brushmarker Pros | SSS Black Eyed Susans

Hey friends!!

I wanted to ink up Simon's Black Eyed Susans stamp set from their STAMPtember® release on the 1st - if you missed my Release & Review video on that you can find that here:

So I wanted to combine that set with this week's Color Throwdown Challenge:

Here's what I made:

I stamped the bigger floral stamp from the Black Eyed Susans set onto Strathmore watercolor paper with Fallen Leaves ink, heat embossed it with Wow's Clear Matt Dull embossing powder then watercolored the images with Karin Brushmarker Pro's.

I used the coordinating wafer dies to die cut the floral and bees, and also white heat embossed a sentiment from the set onto Dark Chocolate card stock which was die cut with the coordinating wafer die.

The card base was ink blended with Simon's Lucky and Sunshine Pawsitively Saturated inks and I used the same inks to stamp the floral on the inside of the card.

Here's what I created with the Beautiful Moments Stamp Set:

I heat embossed the largest images from the Beautiful Moments set with Simon's Cream Embossing Powder onto Canson XL watercolor paper. I then used a variety of Distress Oxide inks to watercolor everything in.

I used some of the same inks to ink up the same images to stamp on the inside of the card and that was it!

Here's what I made with the Beautiful Lily Stamp Set:

I stamped the Beautiful Lily image onto Strathmore Watercolor paper with Nocturne ink, clear heat embossed it and then watercolored it with Karin Brushmarker Pro's and added sparkle with Tonic's Aqua Shimmer Pen.

I created the background with Simon's Boho Circle Stencil and a combo of Salvaged Patina Oxide Ink and Oxide Spray. I added a die cut sentiment from the new Handwritten Hello wafer die and of course added a BUNCH of gold splatter lol!

Hey friends! So I wanted to use the new Halloween Distress Mica Stains but not as a spray - this time I decided to watercolor with them. If you missed my previous posts using them as sprays you can find those here:

This is a Mini Slimline 3.25 x 6.25" Card

I couldn't resist pulling out my oldie-but-goodie-all-time-favorite Beautiful flowers stamp set for this one. I mean - it's just perfect.

I stamped the Beautiful Flowers image onto Canson XL watercolor paper with Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves ink and clear heat embossed it. I then used a paint brush and Burning Ember, Fortune Teller, Decayed and Wicked Elixir Mica Stains to color it in.

All the gold around the edges and the subtle splatter is Gilded Foundry Wax. I then die cut some Matte Gold card stock and scraps with the Bold Thanks wafer die and stacked them before adhering it to the card.

I kept the inside of the card simple and just stamped the Beautiful Flowers with Simon's Fawn Pawsitively Saturated Ink and that was it!

SSS September 2022 Card Kit Unboxing + 2 Cards!

Hey friends! Simon Says Stamp's September card kit is here and I have an unboxing and 2 cards to share with you all!

You can check out the card kit HERE <-------click! as well as at the links in the supplies at the end of the post!

I took one of the patterned papers from the kit and cut it into 2 pieces then embossed them with the Minted Florals embossing folder. I also used some white pigment ink and rubbed the ink pad directly over the raised impressions - it's subtle but it adds just a little something.

The Happy Birthday sentiment from the Let's Celebrate set that's in the kit was gold heat embossed onto some Strathmore watercolor paper. I used my Karin Brushmarker Pro's, a Clear Glitter Gloss Aqua Shimmer pen and a paintbrush to color in all the letters before fussy cutting out the sentiment and popping it onto the card front with foam squares.

On the insides of the cards I stamped sentiments from the Let's Celebrate stamp set with Simon's Peony and Royal inks and that was it!

Recently Studio Katia released some new products - you can check out all things Studio Katia HERE <--------click! She sent me the new goodies and I have a card and video to share with y'all using some of it:

I clear heat embossed the new Botanical Hi stamp set after stamping it with Nocturne ink onto some Strathmore watercolor paper. I then used my Karin Brushmarker Pro's and a paintbrush to color it all in:

I fussy cut the image and popped it up with foam tape, and the "hi" I added Aqua Shimmer Clear Glitter Gloss to and then covered it with Glossy Accents. The background is from Studio Katia's new Black on White patterned paper pack.

On the inside of the card I stamped the Botanical Hi with Simon's Cheeky ink and then stamped one of the sentiments from the set with Nocturne ink and that was it!

Here's what I made:

I pulled out my ALL-TIME-oldie-but-goodie favorite stamp set - Simon Says Stamp's Beautiful Flowers. I stamped the florals onto Canson XL watercolor paper with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and clear heat embossed it.

I then used some of Simon's Pawsitively Saturated Inks (specific colors used are listed and linked below) along with some Honey Bee Bee Shimmery Liquid Shimmer Watercolor to color in the images.

I used the Bold Thanks wafer die for the sentiment and die cut the top layer from Simon's Black Glossy card stock (LOVE). 

On the inside of the card I stamped the Beautiful Flowers image with Simon's Lilac Pawsitively Saturated ink and that was it!

Shimmer Powders 4 Ways | SSS Thankful Magnolia

Hey friends! After my previous card using Simon's Tin Tile stencil and a sentiment from the Thankful Magnolia stamp set I of course needed to use the HUGE floral image in the Thankful Magnolia set to make some cards:

I stamped the floral onto Canson XL watercolor paper with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and clear heat embossed them. I then used a variety of Nuvo Shimmer powders to paint in the images before letting them dry and die cutting them with the coordinating wafer die.

The backgrounds were done with Ivory Willow and Jade Fountain Nuvo Shimmer Powders over watercolor paper. Once dry I mixed the powders with Rangers Opaque Matte Texture Paste and applied the colored pastes over Simon's Tin Tile Stencil.

I used those same shimmer powder colors to paint pieces of watercolor paper that I then die cut with the Big Thanks wafer die.

On the insides of the cards I stamped the floral with Simon's Fog ink and that was it!

Rainbow Watercolor Background Card Using 3 Distress Spray Stains

Hey friends! I'm still on my "rainbow using only 3 colors" obsession lol! AND I wanted to quickly mention a sale going on right now:

Here's what I made for today:

I used Honey Bee's new Rainbow A2 Pierced Coverplate on some Canson XL watercolor paper. I then did some easy drippy watercolor using Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Spray Stains. I then amped it up by adding a TON of splatter using water mixed with Honey Bee's new Shimmery Iridescent Watercolor.

I used the Rainbow Dreams stamp set and coordinating die set to create the clouds by white heat embossing the clouds on vellum, and then using scraps of white card stock and the dies for the others. The sentiments are from the Look For The Rainbow stamp set (and I show in the video how I got the multiple colors on the sentiments) and coordinating wafer die set.

On the inside of the card I stamped the rainbow arch (I just LOVE this stamp in the set) from the Rainbow Dreams stamp set with multiple colors. I added sentiments from the Look For The Rainbow set that were die cut with the coordinating dies, adhered into place and that was it!

Waffle Flower June 2022 Release Hop

Hey friends! Today marks Waffle Flower's June release and I have a couple of cards, a video and giveaway info to share with y'all!

I will have links to the other stops on today's hop as well as giveaway info lower down in this post!

Here's what I created:

I used the new Layered Orchid wafer die set from Waffle Flower and die cut the pieces from Ranger's Watercolor Cardstock. I then used 3 different colors of Nuvo Shimmer Powders - Cherry Bomb, Solar Flare and Blue Blitz to color in the florals.

I used the Thank You stamp set and white heat embossed the sentiment onto black card stock then die cut it with the coordinating wafer die. The white panel was die cut with one of the dies from the Designer Template 1 Die set.

On the insides of the cards I used the Thank You stamp set again, but this time I inked up the large sentiment with 3 different colors of Distress Oxide inks - Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon. I then stamped the second sentiment over it with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and that was it!

Rainbow Watercolor Distress Spray Stain vs Oxide Spray | SSS Beautiful Flowers Take 20

Hey friends!

Yup - it's my 20th video using Simon Says Stamp's Beautiful Flowers stamp set. What can I say - this set has been a favorite of mine since it came out however many years ago, and when I pulled it out again recently I warned y'all that I'd be making more videos with it again!!

I am also still on a rainbow kick (it's so fun and cheerful how could one not want everything in rainbow colors) and decided for these cards to do one with Distress Spray Stains and one with Distress Oxide Sprays.

So I started off by white heat embossed the Beautiful Flowers image onto Canson XL watercolor paper.

I used Distress Spray Stains on this card - my current "go-to combo" of Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon, and watercolored them over the image.

On the second card I used the same colors but this time with Distress Oxide Sprays.

I used the CZ Design Hugs wafer die for my main sentiment and topped the die cuts with Simon's Black Glossy card stock - LOVE the shine that gives!

I kept the insides of these ones simple and just stamped the Beautiful Flowers floral with Simon's Fog ink. That way these cards can be used for pretty much any occasion and I have plenty of space to write!

SSS June 2022 Card Kit Unboxing + 2 Slimline Cards!

Hello hello friends! Simon Says Stamp's June 2022 Card Kit came out this week:

After unboxing the kit I decided to focus on the Slimline Sunburst Stencil and the Starshine Stickles Glitter Gel that came in the kit and made 2 slimline cards with them:

These are 3.5 x 8.5" Slimline Cards.

I created backgrounds using Squeezed Lemonade Distress Reinker over Distress watercolor paper. After adding splatter (of course) and letting everything dry I applies the Starshine Stickles Glitter Gel over the backgrounds with the Slimline Sunburst Stencil.

They're SO shimmery and glittery and reflective in real life! I die cut some of Simon's Sunshine card stock with the Scripty Big Hugs wafer die that comes in the kit and stacked 3 layers together to give it dimension. And of course I added some bling from my stash: Studio Katia Pineapple Delight Crystals.

On the inside of the cards I used the Slimline Sunburst Stencil with Simon's Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Sunbeam. On the Slimline Dandelion envelopes I used the stencil with Citrine ink to tie it all together and that was it!

Sunshine of Hope Mini Slimline Card

Hello friends! After a couple of crazy weeks dealing with one crazy thing after another I'm back with videos! 

I missed being able to participate in the Support Ukraine Blog Hop that happened earlier this month but you all can check it out HERE for info and inspiration. The stamp set that Studio Katia released for it is donating 100% of net proceeds from the sale of the set to the Save the Children Organization in support of Ukrainian children. I also did a blog post HERE that has some info and a link to places for donating - but I am personally loving how so many of my fellow crafters and crafty companies have been stepping up to help and support and do whatever they can! 

I used the Sunshine of Hope stamp set to make this mini slimline card:

This is a 3 1/8 x 6 1/4" Mini Slimline Card.

I stamped the sunflower from the Sunshine of Hope stamp set onto Canson XL watercolor paper with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and clear heat embossed it. I then used several of Simon Says Stamp's Pawsitively Saturated Inks to watercolor it.

I used Studio Katia's Spring Pastels Polka Slimline patterned paper for the card front, die cutting both the patterned paper and the watercolor panel using Simon's Mini Slimline Rectangles wafer dies. I white heat embossed a sentiment from the Sunshine of Hope set onto a piece of vellum that I wrapped around the front panel before adhering it.

On the inside of the card I stamped the sunflower with Simon's Sunbeam ink and stamped another sentiment from the Sunshine of Hope set and that was it!

Garden Boots Card | Watercolor with Pawsitively Saturated Inks

Hey friends! I have another card and video to share with y'all using Simon Says Stamp's Pawsitively Saturated Inks:

I used the inks in 4 different ways on this card. First off I created an ink smooshed background using Seafoam and Surf inks. Once that was dry I mixed some Ocean ink with Transparent Gloss Texture Paste and applied it over Simon's Raindrops stencil. I sprinkled on some Unicorn Dust Confetti and Unicorn Dust Glitter while the paste was still wet to give it some extra bling.

I used several colors of the Pawsitively Saturated Inks to watercolor in these rainboot images from the Garden Boots stamp set. LOVE this set. It just screams spring and I LOVE the font for the sentiments too.

I did add some Aqua Shimmer Clear Glitter Gloss to the boots as I was watercoloring them (which you can see much better in the video) so they're SPARKLY boots. Who doesn't love glittery rubber boots?

The final way I used the inks on this card was a simple ink blend using the Seafoam ink over the Raindrops stencil on the inside of the card and that was it!

Drippy Watercolor with SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks

Hey friends! So I pulled out the new Mom's Spring Flowers stamp set b/c I am in LOVE with the large floral image in it. I made a card and video using it here if you missed it:

Watercolor with Distress Oxide Inks | Happy Spring Card

I mentioned in that video how I was thinking about "drippy watercolor" and I couldn't get it out of my head so I made this:

This time I used Simon's Pawsitively Saturated Inks for the watercoloring. I genuinely LOVE these inks - all I want is more colors lol! 

I stamped the big floral from the Mom's Spring Flowers set onto some Canson XL watercolor paper using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. I then used several of the Pawsitively Saturated Inks to watercolor with. I also used my Clear Glitter Gloss Aqua Shimmer Pen while watercoloring so the florals are glittery as well (which never shows up in photos - you can see it in the video).

Splatter was added (of course) with white gouache and Perfect Pearl Powder. The sentiment is from the new CZ Design Spring In My Step stamp set and I gold heat embossed it onto the watercolor panel after everything was dry.

On the inside of the card I stamped the big floral with Simon's Cantaloupe ink and then stamped another sentiment from the Spring In My Step stamp set and that was it!
