Like I say in the video I thought I had already done a separate review on Jody's Sticky Stuff Store - goodness knows I talk about her dimensionals all the time - and I assumed I'd done it!
I can't recommend Jody enough - I've been ordering from her for YEARS and years. Back in the day she used to do ribbon and Prima flower shares - LOL it's all her fault I got so addicted and the vast majority of my "stash" is from those shares all those years ago. I've been getting all my dimensionals and red line adhesive from her ever since the beginning and LOVE the black dimensionals especially - well y'all see me using them all the time!
Happy Friday everyone! I for one am really glad this week is almost over - it's been a loooonnnggg week and I'm dead on my feet :P And since it's Thanksgiving this weekend for us in Canada I need to figure out what we're doing and what I'm cooking ;) - I'm really looking forward to turkey (and leftovers lol).
While I was at it I got a Mega Set with matching embossing powders to try out too - I chose the Sweet Treats set - and here are my thoughts on them all:
I can't wait to play more with them and with the EP's - they're so pretty and shimmery - I LOVE them!
So that's it for today - I need to haul my kids to the grocery store to stock up for a weekend of cooking and baking - and hopefully I can fit in a bunch of stamping in too :). Hopefully I'll still get some Halloween stuff done to show y'all!
CCDesigns got in all the different colors - of course the clear one sold out ASAP but I do know they'll be getting more as soon as they're available (this time of year I'm not surprised that one is selling out - they can't seem to make them fast enough).
I really like this brush marker and now I really want to get all the other colors too LOL!
So I have a product review video for y'all - it feels like forever since I've done one of these! This one needed to go up tho b/c I tried and tried and TRIED to love these mists but I just *don't* :(.
Although if any of you guys have any tips/tricks/ideas to make them more *loved* (LOL) let me know becasue I am just bummed.
I will say though that the green (Sour Apple) and orange (Mandarin) have more(ish) shimmer in them than the purple (Grape Fizz). I wonder if my Grape Fizz one just didn't get enough shimmer powder put IN to the bottle....because it's really disappointing.
Ah well - it's not the end of the world - thank goodness I didn't buy every single color (in the past I prolly would have LOL - I have zero patience and want to own a whole collection of everything - it's pretty sad (and expensive!)) - but I kept myself in check when I ordered these - thank goodness!!
I am really happy to be able to do a review on My Favorite Things cardstock and dye inks! I've been wanting to compare them and do a review for some time now and MFT graciously sent me some to try out (something that *rarely* happens to me - I haven't had a company send me product in a really long time - and normally that's just fine as I don't mind spending my own $$ on things like this! But with baby #3 arriving soon my stamping budget has now become somewhat non-existent LOL! So I was even MORE grateful for this opportunity).
*regardless of how a product got to me I reserve the right to give my own personal opinion on it. Anything I express on my blog, my YouTube channel and/or Facebook page are my own personal opinions.*
I can honestly say that I am VERY happy with their cardstock and inks. I was especially impressed with how the inks worked with their clear stamps (and will obviously work just as well with any brand of clear photopolymer stamps).
Now for an extra goodie MFT actually gave me a discount code that I can share with y'all for any orders placed today 'till Friday (May 15,2013 - Friday May 17,2013).
The code is ARFRIENDS and is good for 15% OFF any MFT products!!
**fine print: only one code may be used per order, retail customers only, good only on in-stock products, cannot be applied to orders already placed, must enter code to receive discount.**
So I finally got my hands on my first CLEAR stamp set. I had posted about it about a month or so ago that All That Scraps will now be offering my stamp sets in a clear option along with the rubber option they've always been available as.
**I say it in the video but I'll post it here as well - right now there aren't any plans to re-release any of my older sets in clear. Maybe down the road or if the demand is great enough we will but as of right now all my previous sets are available in rubber only.**
I knew there'd be a lot of questions with the last video I posted on the Prismacolor Pencils and OMS (Odorless Mineral Spirits) coloring - so I sat down and FINALLY did an info video.
I warn y'all it's a long one (almost 20 minutes) but there was no way to edit it down to make it shorter. I tried to give y'all as MUCH information as I possibly could all in one spot. And then at the bottom of this post I've linked to as much as I could find so I hope this helps!
*this is my 6th NEW video that I've posted in the past week. Yeah I do nothing for a month and a half and then I'm back with a vengance LOL! So make sure to scroll to see all the newness if you'd given up on me ever posting anything new *wink**
So I showed the new magnetic sheets I got in my recent Haul Video - and literally right after I posted that I got to work organizing all my dies.
I LOVE this system. It's been less than a week but I seriously LOVE it. Already I've been using my dies more (every card I've posted so far uses at least ONE die) and I'm not cursing trying to find them or having them fall out of that container I had them in and scrambling around trying to remember what it's called.
I'm going to be getting more magnetic sheets (I used up all the ones I bought and need more for all the Nestability dies - that will be a later post tho) to organize all of them and to have a few extra on hand for when I get more dies. Because now that I'm actually SEEING all that I have and USING them well I can justify buying more of course. *of course*
(as of me posting this the sheets are sold out (already!) - don't know when they'll be back in stock (as ppl always e-mail me to ask) but hopefully ASAP as I need to get more too - you can contact ATS and ask if you're itching to get them right away)
(there are tons of companies out there that manufacture similar dies - these 3 brands are my personal favorite - but I assume all the other brands that are similar work just as well!)
OK that's it for today. I need to pack a quick lunch and head off through a blizzard to get to work (thankfully my "commute" is only about 5 minutes - longer today when you can't see more than a few feet in front of the vehicle ;)).
So it's back-to-school week here and I had a bit of time between dropping the kids off at school and heading to work. So I filmed a video that's been requested a LOT lately.
So on Stampin' Up!'s site the tabletop cutter was listed (the big one) but they don't have a normal one shown - but there was a picture of it. Not sure what that's about. I haven't seen or tried the new one though so I can't technically recommend it but I'm sure it's good. I've always been happy with SU products.
So I've linked to a couple of Fiskars trimmers on SSS - obviously you can get these anywhere Fiskars product is sold. Especially if you're wanting to get one of the larger trimmers as most sites will charge extra for shipping. I recommend hitting up Michaels with a 40 or 50% off coupon to get one (that's what I plan on doing down the road when I decide to get a new trimmer).
OK here are my thoughts on the Letraset Felx markers that I got in my latest ATS haul.
They're good markers! I ramble on about them in the video so there's no need for me to type it all up and repeat myself here. But if you're looking for a more affordable option to Copics I'd say try these ones out :)
I mention my other alcohol marker reviews that I did - if you missed those you can see them all here:
Something I use for EVERY card I make and probably mention in every single video is my detail cutting scissors. They are a MUST have - and these are my absolute favorite ones:
Hokay, it took me long enough but here are my thoughts on three different "non-Copic" alcohol markers - Spectrum Noir, ProMaker, and Marvy LePlume.
These are *MY* opinions on them, they may differ from your opinion (people can get testy about something they really like if they think someone else is dissing them LOL!). If you have a preference feel free to share it in the comments - I'm all for hearing everyone's opinion - especially if you own and have used a certain brand of marker and love it.
I've had Copics for oh about 5+ years now. So like I say in my videos I'm a "Copic snob" - I have zero intentions of ever switching to another brand - as I personally think that Copics are the highest quality and worth every penny I've invested in to them.
But it's good to have options - if we all thought alike and bought alike and made all the same things it would be pretty darn boring around here :)
And if I HAD to choose - of the 3 I would say ProMarkers (in my opinion) are the best option.
I get a LOT of questions about the black inks I use and why I choose to use different ones so it was high time I posted a video about just that.
*warning* it is another LONG video - I tried to cut it down but there was a fair bit of info to cover and my reasoning - so it's close to 20 minutes long!
Well just like the title the video is ridiculously long too!
Kudos to you if you watch the whole thing LOL!
I had a lot to say and was obviously in a rambly mood - I tried to make it a shorter video but it just wasn't happening so here it is in all it's 20+ minutes:
