I ordered some new goodies from The Paper Trail last week as she had a great sale going on to clearout some product before the unveiling of the new website! Check it out HERE <----click! Looks so good!
Katelyn makes a bit of an appearance at the end - I've been trying so hard to get her to talk in videos but she absolutely refuses. Y'all will hear a teeny bit from her from time to time but it's nothing like how she talks when the camera is off. She says several words now - one of them being "bye-bye" - but actually getting her to say it on camera has proved to be impossible LOL!
Anywho I tried ;).
Also - since this was a sale order a lot of these things I show in the video aren't on TPT's site anymore - so I linked to some of them on SSS as well. And the Art Impressions Reindeer Games stamp is nowhere to be found on both sites. If/when it does show up I'll hopefully remember to edit this and add a link to it here as well.
Also love that they have their images colored in on their packaging - totally makes coloring in the stamp images quick and easy if you just follow along with what they did - and why not?
It was difficult to capture the shimmer of the Wink of Stella and the Glossy Accents on the wine glass in a picture but you can see it better in the video!
For the outside and inside of the card I used my MFT Wildcat stencil and my Copic airbrush - super quick and easy.
**Also heads up that The Paper Trail is having a BIG sale right now! Use the code CLEAROUT and get 35% off your order! This sale only lasts 'till tomorrow! (July 27 2014)**
And then the set was sold out at The Paper Trail so I was waiting for it to come back in stock. And then it sold out again before I got this video uploaded :P. I just can't win LOL! You can see some of the other Penny Black sets they have HERE - there are a couple that can be substituted for this Dahlia set. And I included an alternate source in the links as well.
Anywho here is the card:
With my first card I kept things simpler and less layers/embellishments - with this one I went all out LOL!
I heat embossed the stamped images with white embossing powder before water coloring them with my Peerless water colors (another thing that has been sold out for some time. Retailers are trying to get them back in ASAP but it's the company itself that takes quite a lot of time to ship out the orders apparently - the demand has been so high they can't keep up LOL!).
Hey everyone! So I'd made this card using the Dragonfly Peel-Off Stickers that I'd got from The Paper Trail - and just now as I was linking up the supplies I see they no longer have them in stock :P.
You can see all the other ones they have HERE <-----click! And I'll link to the Elizabeth Crafts Designs site for the ones I used here in with the supplies.
If you missed my original review on these stickers you can check it out here:
I was playing around with watercolor again the other day, and thankfully had the camera filming during so I have a video to share as well!
I used the (new to me) Penny Black Dahlias stamp set that I got from The Paper Trail a few weeks ago, I've been wanting to ink this set up and play with it for a while now, and finally got a chance to.
Sorry my editing washed out the background a bit here in this picture - it's definitely more like how it appears in the first picture. And yes still somewhat obsessed with stamping sentiments on vellum and embossing them LOL!
I kept the inside really simple since I spent so much time coloring the outside. Just a few Memento inks - Sweet Plum, Elderberry, Bamboo Leaves and Cottage Ivy to be precise.

Hello everyone :). I've been playing around with watercolor a LOT - since before and after taking the Online Card Class Watercolor for Cardmakers (you can still sign up for it and take it at your own pace - you get unlimited lifetime access once you've purchased your class) - it's fun!
I have a set of watercolors in my nail art stash that I've had for a really long time and never used as I decided I didn't want to get into doing that sort of art for clients enhancements or my own - so I took the set to use for cards and playing around with. I don't have a source for them right now but I've linked to a couple of sets in the supplies that are similar.
First time ever making a 4-Bar sized card - 3.5 by 4 7/8". It's different and I like it :)
I was stumped at first on how to use this Magenta Small Deer Family stamp as it's a lot smaller than I thought it would be - and would get lost on a A2 sized card IMO. I was playing around with the watercolor and decided to make a "scene" for the deer and put it on a smaller card and this was the end result:
I love that every time you do this technique it looks different:
My original "just playing around" piece is on the left with the one for today on the right.

Today's post is another packed one LOL! I've got a review video that includes showing how I made the first card, plus another 2 cards to share with y'all. First off let's get to the video:
As always you can watch directly on YouTube HERE <----click!
You can find all the Elizabeth Crafts Peel Off Stickers here in The Paper Trail store. FYI they're now shipping to Canada AND the US! If you can't order from there and are interested in these stickers check your favorite online store/local store and see if they have them/can get them in.
This was the first card I made and show how in the video - REALLY easy! And FYI CCD and SSS have the Peerless watercolors back in stock - I've linked to them below.
The stickers were completely fine with the watercoloring - tho I will note that I didn't saturate the paper at all - basically just applied the color. I would assume that if you were to work really wet the stickers would start to lift off.
Now for the second card I made:
I explained my "oops" with this one in the video LOL! Still happy with how it turned out tho. This time I used my Copics to color in the images. I did take care not to go over the sticker with the dark greys I used as they would have left color on the gold stickers. The lighter colors were just fine. Obviously if you were using the black stickers there'd be no problem.
It's really hard to show in a picture but I was able to get the shimmer in the video from the Wink of Stella - SO pretty.
FInally I've got a thrid bonus card:
I used my new Basic Grey Highline 6x6 pack (which The Paper Trail had in stock when I created this card but it looks like they've sold out of it!) which inspired the coloring on the flowers. I used my Peerless watercolors again and just had fun with them.
And then the inside:
I said it in the video but I'll say it again here - I really like these stickers! They made all three of these cards a LOT quicker to create as there was no stamping/powdering/embossing involved - just put a sticker on it, color it in and done. For the price I highly recommend getting yourself a pack (or two or three) to play with and experiment with.
They give a really cool look that you just can't get with embossing powder - you can kind of see it in my close up pics how it's a nice gold and the an outline of a shinier gold all around the openings - very cool.
The only negative would be that these are all one-time use - unlike stamps that you can use over and over again for forever. But again for the price I'm fine with that - they're cheaper than some of the embellishment packs I've purchased! *wink*
Hey everyone! Here's the first announcement I alluded to in my Life Update video yesterday ;)...
I'm now on the Design Team for The Paper Trail! It's a brand new Canadian online retailer that's located in BC - you can check out their store HERE. And being Canadian and new to the scene they ship ONLY to Canadian addresses right now. I thought it would be great to be able to help promote this business as I get asked a lot by fellow Canadians where they can buy things from Canadian retailers. So now we have another option!
As an added bonus she's already carrying some of my own stamp line along with some CCDesigns images - which is another big request I get from people. And since I would rather create than get in to the business side of selling my stamps - this is the best of both worlds for me. You can find my stamps at the end of the CCDesigns category on the site HERE.
I made a card to go along with my announcement, and there's a video at the end as well:
I used the CCD Tulip Monkey image and colored him in with Copics and masked and then airbrushed the background.
The sentiments are from my All Men sentiments set - there are a couple in that set that will work for any card *wink*.
I finished off the inside with the same layout as on the front - these patterend papers are from the Basic Grey Persimmon pack - LOVE them!
