Hello everyone! I hope y'all have had a good weekend!
I pulled out PinkFresh Studio's Cityscape Wafer Die and Home For the Holidays stamp set to make a couple of galaxy background shaker cards. These came together SO quick and easy - I like not having to think too much sometimes when I'm making a card - and major bonus if it involves things like shaker elements etc!
I used PinkFresh's Liquid Watercolors to paint the backgrounds as well as to paint the stamped scenes on both cards. I then used white gouache and splattered it liberally on both the background (for the "galaxy look") and onto the card front for "snow".
On the inside of both cards I stamped another sentiment from the Home For the Holidays stamp set and then stamped the buildings and the snowflakes with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink and that finished them off!

So MFT asked me to join their MFT & Friends feature this month so of course I said yes!! You can check out their blog post HERE <------click! with the info as well as for the links to all the other amazing designers sharing inspiration with this release!
I kind of have a palm to forehead 🤦🏻♀️ moment for my cards - b/c with ALL these new stamps and die-namics released ONE stamp set and ONE stamp in particular caught my eye. I have a ton of ideas for all the other products - but that one sentiment got the wheels turning and I just HAD to make it into cards. So while these cards feature one of the new sets from the release - everything else is from previous MFT releases (links to all of it at the end of the post!).
Those that know me know I am a rather sarcastic person with a pretty twisted sense of humour LOL! So when I come across sarcastic or tongue-in-cheek stamps or anything "twisted" I am ALLLLL over it. It just gives me a giggle. So of course the new Sassy Pants Holiday sentiment set was right up my alley!
Don't get me wrong - I love me all kinds of traditional and thoughtful stamps for Christmas/holiday cards. But it's so fun to be able to mix things up and go very UNtraditional sometimes - and that's what I did here.
The second I saw the "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Cocktails" sentiment I KNEW I needed to pull out my MFT Margarita and Martini Shaker Card Window and Frames Die-namics. I wanted to create a winter scene for each card and then add the drink to each.
I decided to do them in different color combos just to have more fun with it - so blues and silver with the martini glass and pinks/corals and gold with the margarita. I used MFT's coordinating shaker pouches - and in the video I show how I backed them with acetate and made them into transparent shakers, which I filled with MFT's Frosty Ice Cubes and some silver and gold seed beads.
I finished off the insides of the cards with another sentiment from the Sassy Pants Holiday stamp set - another one that made me giggle.

I'm part of a blog hop today to celebrate Studio Katia's September release! Speaking of - if you missed my previous post about Studio Katia's exclusive STAMPtember® set you can check that out here:
OK now on to the Studio Katia September 2018 Release Blog Hop!
If you didn't get here from Amanda's blog you can start at the beginning of the hop HERE at the Studio Katia blog! I'll have links to all the stops today (this is a 2 day hop!) near the end of the post as well as giveaway info!
This is a 4.25" square card.
I created this fun shaker card using the new Spider Web wafer die along with the coordinating Spider Web Stencil (seriously LOVE how well these work together!) and paired them with these cute monsters from the Monster Bash stamp set!
I stamped the monsters onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb card stock with Simon's Intense Black ink then coloured them in with Copic markers. I added highlights with a white gel pen before die cutting them with their coordinating wafer dies.
I die cut the spider web from black card stock, and used the Spider Web stencil to sponge white ink over it. I then die cut the web from some black glitter card stock that I adhered to the transparency.
I finished off the inside of the card with the little frame that's left over when die cutting the spider web, and added a sentiment and another monster from the Monster Bash stamp set and that was it!

Ahhhhhh Monday is almost over - it's been a hectic start to the week for me and I'm just glad the day is almost done!
As it seems to be the norm lately - it's taken me a couple of days to get this video edited and uploaded!
Like I mention in the video - I've had these Studio Katia stamps and dies sitting on my desk for weeks now LOL! I finally cleared things off and got to making the card that's been forming in my head while the stamps sat here just itching to be inked up!
I stamped the bear and balloon and gift images from Studio Katia's Kobi Bearing Gifts stamp set using GinaK Amalgam ink onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb card stock. I coloured them in with Copics, then coated the balloons and gifts with Tonics Glitter Gloss pen before adding white highlights.
To make this a "flat" shaker card I die cut white card stock with the Halftone Dots Cover wafer die, backed it with an acetate sheet, then sandwiched in Studio Katia's Chunky and Chunky Dots glitters between another piece of acetate. That way the glitter and confetti can shake and move around but are mostly suspended behind the die cut dots, rather than falling to the bottom. And it's mostly flat!
I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the Kobi bear from the Kobi the Birthday Bear stamp set and colouring him with the same markers used on the front of the card. I added a balloon and a heat embossed sentiment and that was it!

And I lost no time in creating a card using a bunch of goodies from the kit!
I decided to make a shaker card - the Treasure Chest sequins that come in the kit are gorgeous and make for perfect shaker elements IMO!
I stamped the mermaid, fish and seaweed from the set onto Neenah 80lb Classic Crest Solar White card stock with Simon's Intense Black ink then coloured them in with Copic markers. I added highlights and dots with my Gelly Roll 10 white gel pen.
I created masks for all the images and masked them off before sponging on the Distress Oxide inks in the kit. I also used the Stormy Sky Distress Oxide to sponge over the white card stock outline for the Big Friend die to tie it all together.
On the inside of the card I stamped the images with the Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink and then stamped the sentiment with the Intense Black ink and that was it!

Hello everyone! Hope you're having a good weekend so far!
OK FINALLY got this video edited and uploaded to share with y'all for this fun Safari Friends birthday shaker card that I made earlier in the week as part of a guest spot for My Favorite Things last month!
I stamped the images from the MFT Safari Friends stamp set onto kraft card stock with versafine onyx black ink then clear heat embossed them. I then used my Distress Oxide inks and a water brush to color them all in.
I show in the video how I created the big birthday shaker gift - so much fun to play with all those dies and shaker pouches. I need to make more with them!
I finished off the inside of my card with the elephant from the Safari Friends set and a sentiment and that was it!

I used images from The Sassy Club's Sea Creatures stamp set and stamped them onto Neenah Classic Crest 80lb cardstock with Ink on 3's Blackout Ink and coloured them in with Copic markers and highlighted them with my white gel pen.
I created a frame from SSS Royal Purple card stock with 2 Waffle Flower rectangle dies, backed that with a piece of acetate and stacked it with 2 layers of foam tape.
I used the background I created with the Oxide inks and adhered some of the creatures to the background and some to the frame and acetate.
I used a BUNCH of different Studio Katia jewels and Iridescent Bubbles and sequins to fill up my shaker - love how pretty they look with all the colors!
I finished off the inside by stamping a sentiment from the Sea Creatures set and added the puffer fish, then stamped one of the coral images with Oxide inks along the bottom and that was it!

Hello everyone! I hope y'all are having a good weekend so far!
I had SO MUCH FUN making this card!! This Studio Katia Mermaid For Each Other stamp set is the cutest thing EVER - and the Seashell Shaker wafer die is adorable!!
I was inspired by the SK Rainbow Fusion Sequins (one of my all-time favourite sequin mixes) for all my colors on this card. I stamped the images onto Neenah 80lb Classic Crest Solar White card stock with Ink on 3's Blackout ink and coloured them all in with Copic markers:
I used the Seashell Shaker wafer die to create my shaker window, and used Distress Oxide inks to sponge the color onto the inner pieces of the seashell - using the remaining pieces on the inside of the card:

Well I lost no time in making a couple of fun shaker cards with the new (to me) MFT Margarita and Martini Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics sets:
These were a lot of fun to make - and with the dies and the coordinating shaker pouches they came together pretty quick and easy too.
I used a mix of Pretty Pink Posh Jewels and Sparkling Clear Seed Beads for my shaker "mixes" in these, and added some PPP Clear Droplets to the card fronts too .
The sentiment I cut apart (insert shocked/horrified faces from some lol - trust me it gets easier once you've done it at least once) and heat embossed with 2 fun bright Ranger embossing powders by Wendi Vecchi - Cactus Flower and Leaf Green.
I finished off the inside of the cards with another heat embossed sentiment and that was it!

I'm still adding cards to my Mother's Day series. This one like several of the others I've cone this year is again more "non-traditional" - I know that Mother's Day can and is really hard for some - for so many different reasons. I've been trying harder lately to incorporate ideas for cards that aren't specific and geared towards one specific thing (while I know we can take inspiration from anything and turn it to any occasion - I still like to make non-traditional and think out of the box as much as I can) not only because of this but because it's nice to create cards to have on hand that can be thoughtful and used all-year-round and for many different people in our lives. I also wanted to add huge (((((hugs))))) for those that struggle with Mother's Day ❤️❤️❤️.
I literally have a million things on my plate at the moment, and piles of things on my desk (and all the surrounding surfaces and floor - some days it almost nearly resembles a scene from Hoarders.......kidding - not really!) for future projects and hauls and giveaways and all sorts of fun things. One of those piles was the Waffle Flower Rainbows stamps and dies and these Lucy's Rainbow Bright Jewels. I've been wanting to make a shaker card with them since they got here and finally scratched that off my "to-make" list:
I like stamps and dies that work together and take all the guesswork out of everything - which is exactly what these stamps and dies do. You don't HAVE to create a shaker card with them - but that frame in the die set just makes it easy to so of course I did!
I die cut everything from Bristol Smooth card stock and used Distress Inks and a water brush to color them in. The card base was also Bristol Smooth and I sponged on my "go-to" sky combo for Distress Inks - Tumbled Glass and Broken China. The jewels that I used for the shaker and to embellish the rainbow are from the Lucy's Diamonds - Rainbow Bright Mix. They're literally diamond shaped instead of the usual flat-backed rhinestones that we're used to. I've been hoarding them for a while with the intention to use them for cards like this - it's like they were meant to go together ;).
I finished off the inside of the card with a sentiment from the Waffle Flower Rainbows stamp set and a little die cut rainbow and that was it!

It's Friday already?? We're getting a lot of wind and more snow here today - just makes me crave Spring even more.
I've had the idea for this card mulling around for a while now - and when it started coming together while creating it I was having SO much fun LOL:
Like I mention in the video - I don't know WHO first realized that MFT's Balloon Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics are the perfect egg shape - but they are! If you use the base die without the frame and flip it "upside down" it looks like an egg! And if you add the balloon shaker pouch you have an egg shaped shaker - LOVE!!
Another fabulous thing is the Studio Katia Iridescent Bubbles (I used them on this card too) - they go PERFECTLY with this MFT Birdie Brown Bubble Over with Joy stamp set - more LOVE!
I created a whole fun Easter scene with bubbles and patterned paper eggs and the shaker - so much going on and yet it all works together so well. I love MFT's shaker pouches - makes adding elements like that so easy to cards without having to fuss with a ton of foam tape. I filled mine with Studio Katia Sparkling Hearts Chunky Glitter and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Seed Beads to get that fun shaker "sound".
I finished off the inside of the card with more patterned paper eggs and one of the bunnies, then stamped the solid bubbles from the set with MFT Snow Cone dye ink.

It's FINALLY Friday!! This has felt like the longest week ever. Thankfully my kids are feeling better, and since it's almost the weekend there will hopefully be time for us to get the tools we need to take apart my laptop to confirm the hard drive and whatnot that we need to order (for those unaware my laptop crashed last week and I lost a ton of video footage. It's my bread & butter that machine - I edit all my videos and photos and do ALL my work on it. Losing that has been rather devastating and just a tad stressful to say the least). My old Mac has been holding up OK in the meantime so I'm still able to get work done!!
There's a bunch of fabulous designers participating in these hops to give a ton of inspiration with the new products. If you didn't get here from Tracy's blog you can start at the beginning HERE <------click!
Here's what I made with some of the new products:
I was really inspired by the new Satin Rainbow Confetti mix - so I used the new Confetti Stencil on my card base and sponged on a bunch of different Distress ink Colors. Without removing the stencil I added Tonic's Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste - so they're sparkly confetti to boot!
I REALLY didn't want to cover any of the card base - so I heat embossed the Confetti Kindness stamp onto some Judikins embossable window plastic and die cut it with a circle wafer die. I then used the larger of the new Fancy Circle wafer dies to create my frame, adhered the sentiment to it and made it into a shaker. I added a bunch of the new Sparkling Stars Chunky Glitter to the shaker, and adhered a bunch of the Iridescent Clear Crystals to the frame. In real life this card is ALLLLL bling!
I finished off the inside of the card with a sentiment from the new Label Messages stamp set, and stamped the little confetti/starburst images from the Confetti Kindness stamp set with those same Distress Inks and that was it!

I couldn't decide which set to use of the four new "season" sets that are part of the Waffle Flower Big Bear & Bird Line - so I used all four and made 4 terrarium shaped shaker cards. One for each season:
I used Waffle Flowers A2 Nested Dome wafer dies to make the card bases (and they are actual side opening cards - I show it in the video). The largest die in the set is literally A2 size, so with the "handle" adhered to the top like this they're all slightly larger (more like 4.25 x 6" now). I wouldn't put a card like this in a standard A2 envelope regardless - I'd either pack it into a rigid-style mailer (that I'd pad around the card to protect it) or I would include this in a gift and/or hand deliver it. Or keep all 4 and frame them lol.
I created the "frame" to make these shaker cards by using the 2 largest dies from the A2 Nested Dome sets. I lined that with clear acetate and popped them on the card fronts with narrow foam tape.
For each card I used a different stamp set - this one uses the new Springtime stamp set. I stamped all the images onto Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 80lb card stock with MFT's Extreme Black ink then coloured them in with Copic markers. I used the coordinating die set to die cut all the images.
My second card uses the Summertime stamp set.
For all the bases I used Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock and sponged different colors of Distress Inks on to the backgrounds. I used different colors for each card but kept the colors and sponging light as I just wanted the backgrounds to be more simple.
I used a combo of liquid adhesive and foam dots to adhere all the coloured and die cut images to create my scenes within their terrariums.
The bases and handles were die cut from Desert Storm card stock and sponged with Gathered Twigs Distress ink to bring out the embossed woodgrain.
For all the cards I added some Pretty Pink Posh 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins - and only a few. I could have added tons as these are LARGE shakers and there was plenty of room, however that wasn't my goal with these cards. I was aiming more for the look of the terrariums and the scenes in them, and decided to add the few sequins just as an extra little something.
However with this last card I added some 4mm Sparkling Clear and some Sparkling Clear Snowflakes as well. This one being a winter scene and a bit more "simple" than the others it just seemed to perfect to add some more sequins and especially the snowflake ones!

Hey everyone! I've been having technical difficulties the last few days and it's made it take WAY longer than usual to get posts and videos and supplies posted. It's frustrating but hopefully I'll have things back to normal for me ASAP (thankfully on your end everything should be showing up and looking normal).
My card for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge is WAY late because of all this. I ended up doing the voiceover in my car in -20(C) - and that corrupted and I had to completely re-do it - in my car in the cold LOL. Lately my car is the only place quiet enough to get a voiceover done as the kids are so loud there's literally no quiet enough place in the house. Usually it's not too bad but of course the last couple of days it's got cold and snowy again! Anywho - here is the challenge for this week:
I did a little playing with alcohol inks and created the background on Yupo paper using Pool ink and the Silver Mixative. I was basically just dropping and dabbing the colors on - nothing too special technique-wise!
I also managed to stamp on the finished alcohol ink background with MFT's Tangy Orange Hybrid ink. I heat set the ink with my heat tool (being careful not to overheat the Yupo paper as I'm not sure how it holds up to heat) and it was good to go.
The window was die cut with Ellen Hutson's Strands wafer die, and the stamped images are all from the EH S'Whale stamp set. I heat embossed the whale onto Distress Watercolor paper and watercolored it in with Daniel Smith Neutral Tint watercolor and a water brush.
I heat embossed the sentiment onto the inside of the card (and couldn't for the life of me get a decent picture of it - it says "Get whale soon") with the same silver embossing powder, stamped the images on the inside to finish it off and that was it!
