Rainbow Watercolor Background Card Using 3 Distress Spray Stains

Hey friends! I'm still on my "rainbow using only 3 colors" obsession lol! AND I wanted to quickly mention a sale going on right now:

Here's what I made for today:

I used Honey Bee's new Rainbow A2 Pierced Coverplate on some Canson XL watercolor paper. I then did some easy drippy watercolor using Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Spray Stains. I then amped it up by adding a TON of splatter using water mixed with Honey Bee's new Shimmery Iridescent Watercolor.

I used the Rainbow Dreams stamp set and coordinating die set to create the clouds by white heat embossing the clouds on vellum, and then using scraps of white card stock and the dies for the others. The sentiments are from the Look For The Rainbow stamp set (and I show in the video how I got the multiple colors on the sentiments) and coordinating wafer die set.

On the inside of the card I stamped the rainbow arch (I just LOVE this stamp in the set) from the Rainbow Dreams stamp set with multiple colors. I added sentiments from the Look For The Rainbow set that were die cut with the coordinating dies, adhered into place and that was it!

Shimmer Spray Peonies | Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers: Peony

Hey friends! I have another couple of cards to share with y'all using the Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers: Peony wafer die set. I am OBSESSED with this set. I love all the Lovely Layers sets so far (and have a video playlist of all the ones I've done videos on HERE on my YouTube channel) and this one is FABULOUS. Here's a couple of previous posts I did using them:

For these cards I used several different Distress Spray Stains and combined them with several of the Ranger Dylusions Shimmer Sprays. Y'all remember the Halloween and Christmas Mica Spray Stains Tim Holtz released last year that were AMAZING? And they were limited edition and sold out everywhere and now we're all sad (well I bought them all and have them on display lol so I'm not that sad) b/c you can't get them? Try the Shimmer Sprays. They look and work just the same (and both made by Ranger) they just won't be the specific colors Tim did with his Distress line. But there are a lot of colors to choose from and you can check them all out HERE <-------click!

So here's the cards I made:

These are 5x7" Cards.

I die cut all the pieces of the Lovely Layers: Peony from Ranger Watercolor Cardstock and then sprayed all the pieces for the blooms with Distress Spray Stains in Saltwater Taffy, Picked Raspberry and Festive Berries. I then added Peony Blush (fitting) Dylusions Shimmer Spray.

For the leaves and stems I used Twisted Citron and Rustic Wilderness Distress Spray Stains with Island Parrot Dylusions Shimmer Spray.

To create the backgrounds I embossed Honey Bee's Plaid A7 Cover Plate Top wafer die on Neenah Desert Storm card stock. I then used Vintage Photo Distress Spray Stain and Vanilla Custard and Desert Sand Dylusions Shimmer Sprays.

The die cut sentiments were a combo of Desert Storm cardstock and Simon's Gold Glitter Cardstock die cut with Honey Bee's You Buzzword wafer dies. I used the coordinating You Buzzword stamp set to complete the sentiments.

On the insides of the cards I used sentiments from the Squeeze the Day stamp set and die cut them with the coordinating wafer dies before adhering them to the insides of the cards and that was it!

Rainbow Watercolor Distress Spray Stain vs Oxide Spray | SSS Beautiful Flowers Take 20

Hey friends!

Yup - it's my 20th video using Simon Says Stamp's Beautiful Flowers stamp set. What can I say - this set has been a favorite of mine since it came out however many years ago, and when I pulled it out again recently I warned y'all that I'd be making more videos with it again!!

I am also still on a rainbow kick (it's so fun and cheerful how could one not want everything in rainbow colors) and decided for these cards to do one with Distress Spray Stains and one with Distress Oxide Sprays.

So I started off by white heat embossed the Beautiful Flowers image onto Canson XL watercolor paper.

I used Distress Spray Stains on this card - my current "go-to combo" of Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon, and watercolored them over the image.

On the second card I used the same colors but this time with Distress Oxide Sprays.

I used the CZ Design Hugs wafer die for my main sentiment and topped the die cuts with Simon's Black Glossy card stock - LOVE the shine that gives!

I kept the insides of these ones simple and just stamped the Beautiful Flowers floral with Simon's Fog ink. That way these cards can be used for pretty much any occasion and I have plenty of space to write!

Easy Rainbow Stamping w 3 Inks | CZ Design Silhouette Sentiments Take 2

Hey friends! I have a couple more cards and a video to share with y'all using this CZ Design Silhouette Sentiments stamp set. I've been using the sentiments on recent cards but the silhouette florals image was too perfect not to use with my Oxide inks and brayer:

I stamped Simon's Arches Background onto white card stock using Simon's Fog ink. On another piece I inked up the silhouette floral image from the CZ Design Silhouette Sentiments set with 3 colors of Oxide inks - Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon - and a brayer.

I added black splatter with Black Soot Distress Paint, and the butterflies were made from Simon's Gold Glitter cardstock and the Flickering Butterflies wafer dies.

On the insides of the cards I stamped the Arches Background using the same Fog ink. I stamped the silhouette floral image after having stamped it on the panel for the front so I was getting a lighter, second generation stamping which is perfect for the inside IMO. I added a sentiment from the Silhouette Sentiments set and another one of the butterflies and that was it!

You Are So Loved Cards for PRIDE | SSS Beautiful Flowers Take 19

Hey friends! OK as promised in my previous post (HERE) I am back with another couple of cards inspired by the inside of the previous cards I posted lol!

These cards use ONE stamp set - my all-time-fave oldie-but-goodie Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers stamp set. After making the previous cards I was inspired to make these using only 3 colors of Distress Oxide ink. I used Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon Oxide inks to ink up this large floral and they blended and created this lovely rainbow of colors.

I used sentiments from the Beautiful Flowers stamp set, and white heat embossed the "loved" word onto black card stock with Simon's Detail White embossing powder. I then used those same 3 Distress Oxide inks and a water brush to paint inside the letters. Once it was attached to the card I used my Nuvo Clear Glitter Gloss Aqua Shimmer pen and went over the sentiment again so that it's glittery and man oh man is it pretty in real life!

On the insides of the cards I'd stamped the floral without re-inking it - meaning I stamped the front, then flipped over the card base and stamped it a second time on the inside. So the ink isn't as intense which is perfect for the inside (as I will just write over it and the writing will show up nicely). I used more sentiments from the Beautiful Flowers stamp set and that was it!

Shimmer Rainbow Distress Oxide Spray Backgrounds | SSS Beautiful Flowers Take 18

Hey friends! So I'm still working on getting videos edited and uploaded while I keep experimenting and fiddling with these rainbow backgrounds using different products. If you have no idea what I'm talking about just scroll down through my most recent posts on here as there's a lot I've been sharing!

For today's cards I pulled out my all-time-favorite oldie-but-goodie stamp set - Simon Says Stamp's Beautiful Flowers. I LOVE this set. I've done a TON of videos using it over the years - in fact you can check out a YouTube playlist I have with a bunch of videos using it as well as videos using the Beautiful Flowers 2 stamp set which is also a favorite of mine:

OK here are the cards:

I created the backgrounds using Canson XL watercolor paper and Distress Oxide Sprays in Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, and Mermaid Lagoon. I also added some Brutus Monroe Pearl Shimmer Mist to them while I was at it.

I white heat embossed the big floral from the Beautiful Flowers stamp set onto vellum then die cut it with the coordinating wafer die, and adhered it to the panels with Craft Tacky glue.

For the sentiments on the outside and inside of the cards I used the CZ Design Silhouette Sentiments set. On the insides of the cards I inked up the Beautiful Flowers image with Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon Oxide inks (which inspired me to create the cards I'll be sharing with y'all right after this post lol!). I LOVE the rainbow of color they created!

OK on to the cards:

So I've been using my Nuvo Shimmer Powders a LOT lately - and I am aware that they are currently sold out at SSS. I will most likely update from my Facebook page <------click! when I see them back in stock (as I don't have plans to stop using them and I have more ideas LOL!) as that's one of the easiest places to keep my peeps updated on things. Anywho - I thought I'd make some colourful, shimmery backgrounds that DON'T use the shimmer powders this time.

So I pulled out an oldie-but-goodie fave background stamp - the Abstract Triangle Background stamp, and white heat embossed it onto Canson XL watercolor paper. I then used Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Spray Stains along with Brutus Monroe Pearl Shimmer Mist to add all the color and shimmer.

I used the CZ Design Spring In My Step stamp set for the sentiments and white heat embossed the Paper Hugs sentiment onto vellum then used the coordinating wafer die to cut it out.

On the insides of the cards I stamped the Abstract Triangles Background with Simon's Fog Ink. I then inked up another sentiment from the Spring In My Step stamp set using Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide inks and a brayer. I finished them off by stamping a sub-sentiment from the Spring In My Step stamp set and that was it!

SSS June 2022 Card Kit Unboxing + 2 Slimline Cards!

Hello hello friends! Simon Says Stamp's June 2022 Card Kit came out this week:

You can check out the Happiest Wishes Card Kit HERE <------click! plus I'll have links to it and everything individual at the end of this post.

After unboxing the kit I decided to focus on the Slimline Sunburst Stencil and the Starshine Stickles Glitter Gel that came in the kit and made 2 slimline cards with them:

These are 3.5 x 8.5" Slimline Cards.

I created backgrounds using Squeezed Lemonade Distress Reinker over Distress watercolor paper. After adding splatter (of course) and letting everything dry I applies the Starshine Stickles Glitter Gel over the backgrounds with the Slimline Sunburst Stencil.

They're SO shimmery and glittery and reflective in real life! I die cut some of Simon's Sunshine card stock with the Scripty Big Hugs wafer die that comes in the kit and stacked 3 layers together to give it dimension. And of course I added some bling from my stash: Studio Katia Pineapple Delight Crystals.

On the inside of the cards I used the Slimline Sunburst Stencil with Simon's Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Sunbeam. On the Slimline Dandelion envelopes I used the stencil with Citrine ink to tie it all together and that was it!

Faux Foil Butterfly Hugs Card | Nuvo Glacier Paste

Hello friends! I have been buried in taxes and paperwork and a million other things the last couple of weeks. But now most of it's taken care of and I can get back to posting videos for y'all!

I made this card and video for last week's Color Throwdown Challenge:

Here's what I created:

I created an ink smooshed background using Twisted Citron and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide inks. I then mixed Bronze Medal and Golden Era Nuvo Glacier Paste and applied it over Simon Says Stamp's Tin Tile stencil. I also used the paste mixture on card stock that I die cut with the body of the Etched Butterfly wafer die and the CZ Design Hugs wafer die.

I die cut vellum using the Etched Butterfly wafer die - LOVE the look of the wings in vellum!

On the inside of the card Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink was blended over the Tin Type Stencil. A sentiment from the Spring In My Step stamp set was stamped with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink to finish it off.

Easy Oxide Ink Smooshing | SSS Etched Layered Daisy Take 2

Here's what I made:

I had some fun playing around with Distress Oxide Sprays and Distress Oxide inks making this. I didn't use any stamps on this card - just wafer dies, a stencil and a pack of sentiment strips.

I sprayed Antique Linen and Bundled Sage Distress Oxide Sprays onto some Canson XL watercolor paper and did them in layers with water to create a soft, splattery background.

I then used Simon's Fanfare Stencil with crackle paste on the background (if you missed my previous post using this stencil for a COMPLETELY different look you can check that out HERE).

For the main floral I ink smooshed more Oxide inks, then die cut the pieces with Simon's Etched Layered Daisy wafer die, and the greenery with the new Tattered Leaves wafer die.

On the inside of the card I used the Fanfare stencil again - this time on Cream card stock with Bundled Sage Distress Oxide ink. The sentiments are from the CZ Design Foundations Sentiment Strip pack. After I'd trimmed them out I added Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink to the pieces to soften them a bit and adhered them into place and that was it!
