GHOST Shapes

I bet y'all thought that I'd be sharing more Halloween cards based on that title eh?? *grin*

I recently got some Heidi Swapp Ghost shapes from ATS and I gotta say they are the neatest things ever!! I pulled out these snowflake ones the other day and made this card with one and I'll share the other card I did either later today or tomorrow!

For this card I used GinaK's new North Pole sign stamp, and her little snowflake stamp. (FYI I can't link you right to the webstore b/c it's down for remodelling - check back on Nov 1st b/c there's going to be a whole new look along with a TON of new things!!)

The Santa and reindeer image is actually from this patterned paper by Flair Designs - I cut it out and then based the rest of the card around it!

The sign was stamped onto Naturals Vanilla (Stampin' Up!) CS with Brilliance Coffee Bean ink, then colored in with a Copic Marker.

I added Liquid Applique to the image and then poured on Dazzling Diamonds (SU!) glitter before heating it up to make puffy glittery snow. SO fun.

As for the Heidi Swapp ghost snowflake - I adhered it with Mono Multi Liquid Glue (a mini glue dot would have worked well too) then covered it with Frosted Lace Stickles to make it stand out a bit more.

The ribbon is brown satin by May Arts (I'm going to have to get more of that ribbon - I reach for it all the time!).

Haunting Halloween

With Halloween being right around the corner I'm really getting in the mood for making spooky-themed cards!!

These 2 aren't really spooky - they're more on the cutesy side LOL! They both use new stamps by GinaK and although I'm not a spider OR a bat fan - both of these little guys are really cute!

I used KI Memories Haunted patterned papers for this card - the purple dotted paper is actually the reverse side of the paper that's on the card base.

I stamped the spider onto white CS, colored him in with a Prismacolor pencil, then outlined him and the web with Star Dust Stickles (in the pic it looks almost blurry - but that's actually the glitter).

I attached the bazzill bitty blossom with a Making Memories Halloween Pebble brad (can you see the little web on it? So cute), and added 3 black sparkly brads from this KI Haunted Color Lab kit.

The sentiment is also from GinaK, and the ribbon is from a share I was in eons ago!!

For this card I used my brand new Spellbinders Rectangle dies - I only have the full rectangle set right now but I think I'm going to eventually have to get them all!

I used the sandwich instructions on Papertrey's website to be able to use the dies with my Cuttlebug (it's the first and only die cut machine I've ever used) and it was SO easy. I didn't emboss them for this card but that's next on my list to try out.

The patterned paper is also from the KI Memories Haunted collection - and I wish y'all could see this paper b/c it's shimmery!! I LOVE that about their papers - any of the ones listed as "frosty" are actually really pretty shimmery paper - I just LOVE it.

Anyway - I stamped GinaK's sentiment and bat image onto the CS, then used a black Prismacolor pencil (blending it with a paper stump dipped in Gamsol) to color the bats in.

I finished off the card with some baubles from Stamping Bella, some ribbon (from WalMart), and a couple of bats that I punched out of black CS using my Martha Stewart punch (did you know you can use 40% coupons now on her line at Michaels?? I was SO giddy when I found that out and got this bat punch at 40% off - YAY!).

I added Star Dust Stickles to the bats and the scallops on the black CS, and completely covered the punched out bats in it for some fun sparkle!!

I hope all my Canadian readers had a great Thanksgiving weekend!! And ate lots of turkey! *grin* Speaking of turkey - I made a couple of turkey cards yesterday and today seemed to be a good day to share them:

This turkey stamp and sentiment are from GinaK's newest stamp release - you can see them all here.

I stamped the turkey onto Papertrey White CS using Brilliance Graphite Black ink (heat set it b/c I'm too impatient to wait for it to dry), then used my Copic markers to color him in.

The patterned paper is from the Grateful Collection by KI Memories - and I wish you could see the multi stripe paper (the one with the leaves) in real life b/c it's shimmery! A LOT of KI's papers are shimmery, it was a pleasant surprise when I got my order of them and pulled them out.

This card I made second - and it wasn't till I started this post that it hit me - the first card being a "live" turkey, then this one being......well.....stuffed. ROFLOL! It WASN'T intentional but I thought it turned out kinda funny.........

Anywho - for this card I used Gina's Thanksgiving Feast stamp and sentiment.

The card base is a Fabriano Note Card that I bought from StarLitStudio eons ago. I LOVE these notecards - they're really high-quality watercolor paper and are a dream to stamp on and color. I tend to keep any card I make with them simple and focus on the coloring.

I stamped the images using Brilliance Coffee Bean ink (heat set of course!) - I only inked up half of the sentiment at a time - and cleaned it REALLY well in between to make sure I didn't get any other marks on the card.

I used Stampin' Up!'s Watercolor Wonder Crayons to color in the (poor) turkey with a medium watercolor brush (also SU!), then added some May Arts ribbon (same as the first card).

Winter Cards!!

I totally forgot to upload these the other day!! I made them over a week ago when I made those 2 snowmen cards and they've been sitting on my desk (so as to REMIND me to post them) ever since!

On this first card I pulled out my Snowflakes embossing folder (this has got to be one of my favorites) and embossed some Cool Caribbean (retired from Stampin' Up!) CS, then I rubbed Brilliance Moonlight White ink onto the snowflakes.

The Winter House image was stamped onto Papertrey White CS, colored in with Copic markers, then the snowflake CS was punched with my Marvy Mega Scalloped Oval punch and adhered over top.

I used clear glue on the scallops and the "snow" then poured on Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU!).

The twill is from Michaels (Martha Stewart brand), and the brads are SU!. I used SU!'s cutter kit to rough up the edges of the white CS, and the card base is Chocolate Chip CS (SU!).

On the inside of the card I stamped GinaK's Happy Holidays stamp with the Moonlight White ink.

For this card I again used the Winter House image - this time I stamped it onto a Fabriano notecard (I got mine from StarLitStudio) using Brilliance Coffee Bean ink (heat set it) and then watercolored it with Watercolor Wonder Crayons (Stampin' Up!).

I then used clear glue and Dazzling Diamonds glitter to add a little sparkle to the "snow"!!

The Believe Script stamp is also by GinaK, and the polka-dot ribbon is May Arts.

Well Nichole, Gina, and Em have finally revealed what they've had up their sleeves these past few months - it's a STAMPING CRUISE!!! <-------click!

I still need to talk to Tim about it before pulling out the credit card - the fact that it leaves the day of my birthday (I wish I could take credit for that and say how sweet they all were to think of me ROFLOL!!! *wink*) next year is just too good to be true - what a birthday present that would be eh?? LOL

I have a year to save up - Tim and I have been throwing the idea of going on a cruise for a while now and THIS kind of cruise would be the funnest EVER!!

Snowman Fun

I went on a sudden holiday cardmaking blitz the other day and made these 2 holiday cards (using GinaK's Snowman stamp) along with a couple others I'm saving to share later!

I stamped the snowman onto Papertrey white CS, then used Copic markers to color in his scarf, nose and buttons, then added a touch of pale aqua (BG10 Cool Shadow) on the sides of the snowman to make him look more white.

TIP: adding a pale touch of blue or very light aqua to select areas that are supposed to be white actually enhances the white!

I then punched him out with my Marvy Giga Scalloped Oval, and sponged the edges with Almost Amethyst (Stampin' Up!) ink.

I added glitter using Crystal Ice Ice stickles - and even put some on the brads to make them glittery as well.

The embossed background was made with the Sledding Folder - I LOVE this folder - it's so cute and goes perfectly with snowman images like this!

I finished off the card by adding some Soft Sky stitched ribbon (SU!) and stamping one of GinaK's winter sentiments on the inside.

For this card I again stamped the Snowman onto white CS and colored him in with Copics, but this time I cut him out and adhered him to a Celery Giga Scalloped oval that I stamped the snowman on (so that I didn't need to cut out his twiggy arms!). I used Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the snowman as well as the scallops on the card and in real life it's SO much more glittery!

I stamped GinaK's little snowflakes stamp all over the white CS with Soft Sky ink, scalloped the edges using the 3/16" Corner rounder punch without the guide, then attached the sentiment over top with white eyelets.

The ribbon is satin ribbon from May Arts - I got several different colors in my last ATS order and OMGosh is it EVER nice ribbon!! And cheap too!! I got 5 yards of this and it was only 1.65!! The cheapo Offray satin ribbon I got at WalMart was almost twice as much as this and it's nowhere near as soft and it's not as wide either. I will definitely be getting more of this ribbon in the future *wink*!

The card base measures 4.25" square and I adhered the scalloped oval so that it doesn't make the card taller than 5.5" so that it will still fit in a standard A2 envelope.

About Time!!

Geez it's been FOREVER since I posted a card eh?? I got TWO to post now, and hopefully I can post TWO more tomorrow too!! *wink*

I sat down yesterday and pulled out several of GinaK's images that I've had sitting here from her earlier (as in when she first started this adventure in stamp-makin'!) releases and just played around. I used her Gift Trio stamp, and the sentiment is from the Make a Wish set - I just inked up the part of the sentiment I wanted.

I used Copic markers to color in the gifts, then added some glitter with Crystal Ice Ice stickles (be warned I'm on a MAJOR glitter kick lately - I think I used it on EVERY card I made yesterday LOL!).

The Prima is from the pink Sprites pack (I love how they're embossed - SO cute) and I attached it with a Making Memories Jewel brad. The little flower brads are also Making Memories.

The patterned paper on this card and the one below are from a box I got at Costco over the weekend. It's all made by K&Co and there is some really cute patterns and some of it has glitter on it (maybe that's what inspired the sudden need to use glitter on everything??) - the paper I used on this second card is one of the glitter sheets. I can't even tell you how much the pack was as I just tossed it in the cart without even looking at the price LOL. All I saw was the colors and the glitter and that it was by K&Co and I had to have it. I'll have to take a picture of the box it came in as it's really nice too!

Can you see it?? The leaves and flowers on the patterned paper are COVERED in glitter *hugs self in glee* LOL!

I used Copics again to color in the Gift Trio, then used my Quickie Glue Pen and poured on Dazzling Diamonds (Stampin' Up!) glitter. I also went over the Happy Birthday (same sentiment used in the card above) with the glue pen and poured on the glitter.

I'm still learning with my new Janome Mini sewing machine - I still have trouble keeping the stitching STRAIGHT!! The machine doesn't have the little lines most other machines have - so it's more a matter of eyeballing it. I'm usually good at eyeballing things but I know I still need practice with this! At least I did a decent job with the scalloped scissors - THAT I just eyeballed!

This is a 5.25" square card. I finished it off with some grosgrain ribbon and 3 pink Bazzill brads.

Last Ones!!

Here are the last 2 cards I made using this Chatterbox Soft Flowering Vine Paper. You can see all the other cards I did with it here, here and here.

I've had a few people e-mail me asking where to get this particular paper - I honestly can't remember where I got it. I might have ordered it online or got it in a scrapbook store. I have a LOT of Chatterbox papers and don't really keep track of where I get them!

However here is a link to the paper <------click! on the Chatterbox website so you can see what collection it's from (LOFT) and I'm pretty sure you can now order right from them? I've never ordered directly from Chatterbox (and I think this is a fairly new feature) but I might have to eventually!

For this card I used a 4x4" square of the paper, and adhered it to a 4.25" square card base. The wishing well is from GinaK's new Make a Wish set, and I stamped it onto Papertrey White CS, colored it in with Copic Markers, then added Coffee Ice Ice Stickles for some sparkly shimmer. After matting it in the blue I adhered it to the moss mat with dimensionals before adhering the image to the card (making sure that it didn't make it more that 5.5" high so that it will fit in a standard A2 envelope).

That silver flower I've been hoarding for MONTHS - I got a pack of three of them from a scrapbook store (and I think they're made by Karen Foster?) and decided to finally use one. I backed it with a Prima Silk Road flower to make it stand out a little more on the card.

I finished off the card with a little ribbon, a couple of Making Memories silver brads, and the sentiment (from the Make a Wish set).

I can't remember if I mentioned it before or not - but the set comes with a little "extra" stamp! When Gina sent the images away to get plated and whatnot they included the info on the set on the bottom (which I assume was only meant to be for the sticker sheet to label the case) so you can cut the little "Make a Wish" title out and use that as well!

I used Copic Markers to color in the image, and then added Fruit Punch stickles to the icing and stars, rounded the corners and sponged the edges.

The ribbon I got from either Michael's or WalMart, and I tied it through the 2 Bazzill Bitty Blossoms for a fun look.

... of me showing more of the cards I made using this Chatterbox Soft Flowering Vine paper! (you can see the other cards I made using it here and here).

I used GinaK's Make a Wish set for this card - the main image was stamped onto watercolor paper (Brilliance Black ink heat set) then watercolored with Stampin' Up! classic ink refills.

It's hard to tell on the bigger picture but I added Lime Ice Ice stickles to the image - I took another picture on an angle (you can click on it to get a pop-up with a bigger image) so you can see the shimmer - SO pretty in real life!

I recently ordered a MM Tag Maker and several tag rims from Papertrey and of course had to try them out. The tags come with a little plastic template that you use to cut your card stock/patterned paper/etc to the right size, then you pop it into the tag rim, and use the Tag Maker to flatten it. It is SO easy to use!! I think I'll actually start using tags now that I have this thing!

I used the actual tag shaped rim in the largest size for this card. The silver finish was too bright in my opinion next to the pewter-style finish of the MM brad so I used a Copic marker on the tag rim to darken it a bit - cool eh?? I adhered the tag to the card with mini glue dots then tied on the Pomegranate stitched ribbon (from the SU! catty) to make it look like the tag was hanging from it.

I pulled out my Love You to Pieces set for this card - I thought the hearts would go great with this patterned paper!

I also pulled out some of my Cranberry Crisp (retired from SU!) CS - I LOVE this color and so wish it hadn't been retired (good thing I stocked up!).

I stamped the hearts onto the CS with VersaMark ink then embossed them with Iridescent Ice embossing powder and cut them out - the picture captured the "sparkliness" somewhat but it's even nicer in real life!

I used more Silk Road Primas - and FYI the green one matches much better in real life - it's not the exact same shade as the moss ribbon and CS but it's not the wonky green that it looks like in the picture! It was originally a cream colored flower but I used a Copic marker (YG63 Pea Green) and colored over it to make it match (which it DOES in real life!) - I LOVE using Copics (Prismacolor markers will work great too) on things like this b/c they dry REALLY fast and you really can't tell that a marker was used to color them!

I used more Karen Foster thumbtack brads for the flower centers, and the brads in the corners are by Making Memories.

The sentiment (which I'm pretty sure is in GinaK's own handwriting - I WISH I had handwriting that nice!) was stamped in Brilliance black ink, then I rounded the edges and sponged them before adhering the patterned paper to the card base.

For those wondering I DID have a great time last night - it was so nice to get out and spend time with Tim and be just the two of us!! We got to do some shopping and went and saw a movie (we saw Superbad - it was REALLY funny but had absolutely awful language! I don't mind that kind of stuff (and Tim and I have a warped sense of humor) but I could see it being insanely offensive to a lot of people! Think of it as along the same lines of American Pie but with even worse language! So definitely NOT a family-friendly movie) and even travelled out to see the new Dakota Dunes Casino that opened recently outside Saskatoon. The Casino was really nice but I'm not really into that sort of thing and there were SO many people out there and the road out there was a mess! In a lot of places it was just a dirt track and yet the traffic was insane! Tim said it wasn't really worth the drive out there and I agree but at least we can say we've been there and it was OK. It was fun to watch some of the slot machines (they have a HUGE Wheel of Fortune one that was pretty cool) but I was happy to leave and come home!

We of course got the girls a few things - namely a couple of ginormous coloring books and a table that I'll be setting up for them in my studio area so they can sit and "craft" with me. They pretty much will sit right at my desk and watch everything I do so I thought I better give them their own little spot where they can create and make a mess (Veronica is pretty good but since Josie is not yet 2 she has more fun making messes then actually sitting still and crafting - which is to be expected!).

Here are the first three samples I've made so far with GinaK's new stamps for a cause - Make a Wish set!

This first card took me at LEAST 2 hours to make. It was one of the first things I tried stamping after having NOT stamped for so long - and my brain just wasn't IN the stamping groove.

So I fiddled and fiddled and left it several times to come back to later and FINALLY finished it.

I used Vintage Violet Stampin' Up! CS (retired) and stamped the star image onto it with Brilliance Moonlight White ink. I used my Quickie Glue Pen and added some light pink glitter (from this MM set) to the stars and tail.

The rest of the card was just a matter of layering and sponging. I used some patterned paper from this DCWV slab (I LOVE that paper - a lot of it has glitter on it and it's really heavyweight!!).

To finish off the card I added some stitched violet and pink organdy ribbon (both retired from SU!).

Now THIS card came a lot easier to me. I think once I got myself over that first hurdle of making something my brain got back into it's stamping groove and I could finally think about what to do without much effort!

Again I used patterned paper from this DCWV slab which inspired the color combo for this card as well (Bashful Blue, Barely Banana, Orchid Opulence and Green Galore - hows that for a fun combo? I LOVE it).

I stamped the cake image in Brilliance Graphite Black ink (heat set it) and colored it in with Copic markers. I sponged the edges and added some Icicle stickles to the stars.

The flower is Bazzill and I picked it up at my LSS (local scrapbook store) the other day. I went in there with the sole intention of getting some goodies to help jumpstart my stamping mojo - and walked out with 2 bags of buttons, several of these flowers in different colors, some white WeR Large eyelets (flower center) and some fun foam LOL! So I attached the flower with the large eyelet (those things are really cool - and WeR has them in a TON of different colors! Plus Stampin' Up! carries two different metallic finishes of them too) and added some Icicle stickles to the eyelet.

I inked up just the Happy Birthday from the set and stamped it, added some May Arts ribbon, then finished off the card with some Faux Stitching.

For this one I pulled out one of my Fabriano note cards that I got from StarLitStudio eons ago. I LOVE these notecards - they're really really nice very lightly textured watercolor paper. And they're already scored so all you have to do is stamp them!

I stamped the wishing well from the set (isn't it the cutest image ever? I love all the images from the set but this one is a favorite!) in Brilliance Graphite Black Ink, heat set it, then watercolored it with Stampin' Up! Watercolor Wonder Crayons.

I finished it off by adding the sentiment and some brown May Arts ribbon and that was it!

Infuse Trio

I've had the 6x6 pack of the new Basic Grey Infuse paper sitting here for a while now and finally got a chance to cut into it!

I used the new 3/16" Corner Rounder (Stampin' Up!) punch to make the scalloped edge on the paper, and then sponged Chocolate Chip ink on the edges.

I stamped GinaK's Flower Trio stamp onto white CS, colored it in with my Copics and added mini brads (by Bazzill) to the centers.

The "doodles" on the giga scalloped circle are from the Scalloped Frames & Doodles Large Circles Set - I stamped them then punched out the scalloped circle.

To finish off the card I added these fun flowers that Lauren sent me - they're made of felt and other fun materials (some were plastic) and they're so cool!

Card measures 4.25" square.

Feelin' Crabby?

LOL yup I could say I do!! We're supposed to be able to go see the house we'll be renting sometime today and the wait is killing me!! It doesn't help that the temperature has gone up again and they're saying it's going to be HOT for the next few days (I really should have bought that air conditioner from Costco!! I know I'm going to regret it!).

I thought this card would be a good one to post today as it suits my mood (*wink*):

I just got some American Crafts ribbon from ATS - I LOVE all the different color assortments and patterns - the only thing I DON'T like about it is it's all one-sided - so when tying I have to twist it a bit so that the "right" side shows. Otherwise tho it's really cool ribbon *grin*.

I used all Stampin' Up! CS for this card - the colors matched the ribbon perfectly!

I used Gina's Crabby Dancer stamp and colored it in with Copic Markers and stamped the stitched circle around it before punching it out with my Mega (pink) circle punch.

I stamped the dotted circle and then punched that out with the Giga (purple) scalloped circle punch.

I did some sponging and corner rounding on the various pieces of CS, added some ribbon and brads then attached the various pieces and that was it!

This card measures 5.25" square :o)
