Mama Elephant Plushoween | Clean Color Real Brush Markers | AmyR Halloween 2017 Video #10

Hi everyone! I pulled out some Mama Elephant Halloween products that I've been itching to use - and made not one but THREE cards with them:

Mama Elephant's Plushoween stamp set is just beyond adorable - I had to ink up all the images from the set - hence 3 cards!

I stamped the images onto Bristol Smooth card stock with Hero Arts Intense Black ink, then used my Clean Color Real Brush markers and a water brush to color them all in.

In the video I listed the specific colors I used!

I used Mama Elephants Favor Bag Accessory - Pumpkin wafer die set to die cut more Bristol Smooth card stock. I then used several Distress Inks to sponge all the pieces to create my pumpkins.

The grass is a MFT Die-namics die, and the cloud background was done with Distress Ink and the MFT Cloud Stencil. Of course I used the A2 Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics as well!!

I also added Nuvo Glow in the Dark drops to finish these off - and do they ever GLOW!!

SO much fun - even without them glowing in the dark I love how bright they are in natural light.

I finished off the insides of the cards by stamping the web from the set in black ink then stamping all the characters with that same Shaded Lilac Distress Ink and that was it!

Mama Elephant Tiny Ninjas Spinner Card | AmyR Halloween 2017 Video #6

I'm back with another Halloween Card!!! Though technically this one isn't Halloween at all - can be for any occasion as it's just funny - but Halloween seemed fitting LOL!

This is a 4.25" square card.

I picked up a really fun sentiment stamp not too long ago (showed in in this haul video HERE) and the main reason for getting the stamp was to use it with this Mama Elephant Tiny Ninjas set and make a card like this!

I created a circle spinner channel using Lawn Fawn's Slide on Over Circle lawn cuts (like I mention in the video you don't HAVE to use these - staggering 2 nesting circle dies would work too as long as they were spaced properly) to cut the "channel" for my spinner. I used grey card stock that I had stamped with the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Cobwebs stamp and white pigment ink. I also stamped the little spider image from the Mama Elephant Bootastic set with black ink onto my background.

The ninja on the outside and the ones on the inside of the card were stamped with Hero Arts Intense black ink onto neenah solar white 110lb card stock then coloured in with Copic Markers.

On the inside of the card I stamped the sentiment that inspired the whole thing, added the remaining ninjas and stamped a couple more spiders and that was it!

Halloween Supplies by AmyR

Mama Elephant Botanic Hello Take 4 | Distress Ink plus Pearescent Watercolors

Well we're halfway through the week already! And as usual I'm late with my cards (but not as late as I sometimes am......) for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge:

Here's what I made:

I pulled out my much-loved Mama Elephant Botanic Hello stamp set - I reach for this one alllllll the time it seems!

I couldn't just make one card as I was curios to see how it would look with silver embossing vs white embossing the image - so of course I did both!

On card number 1 I heat embossed the image with Nuvo's Classic Silver embossing powder.

For my second card I used my Hero Arts white embossing powder.

For both cards I watercolored the image with a mix of Distress Inks and my Gansai Tambi Pearl Colors watercolors and my FineTec Pearlescent Colors palette.

I finished off the insides of both cards using the Mama Elephant Hello Friend Wishes set and that was it!

Penny Black Flower Cascade Take 2 | FineTec Pearlescent Watercolors

Hey everyone! I'm late as usual for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge:

Here's what I came up with:

I had a really hard time getting decent photos of this card LOL. Between the shimmer/reflection of the watercolour and the shimmer of the envelope my camera was just NOT cooperating (and I'm clueless with pics - I pretty much point and shoot....).

I used the Penny Black Flower Cascade stamp and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder onto navy card stock. I then used my FineTec Pearlescent and Iridescent watercolour sets to color them all in - again photos don't do justice at allllll. 

The sentiments are from the Mama Elephant Congrats All Around stamp set and Congrats die - the "on your engagement" stamp was PERFECT for this card IMO!

Really hard to see in the photo (it was one of those evenings) but I stamped the Flower Cascade image onto the inside of the card with Versamark ink for a tone-on-tone look (and so the inside wasn't totally blank - y'all know I have to finish the insides of all the cards!). The gold envelope from SSS I heat embossed the image with some blue embossing powder and that finished it all off!

Mama Elephant Timeless Tulips | Distress Ink Watercolor | Color Throwdown 441

Here's what I made with these colors:

I was originally going to create something birthday/balloon-themed - but then I was looking at this Mama Elephant Timeless Tulips and wondered what it would look like if I painted the tulips with pale pink and pale purple. So then I pulled out my Distress Inks and some Bristol Smooth card stock and white embossing powder and got to work. 

Normally I would reach for my Canson XL watercolour paper as that's my favourite "go-to" for watercoloring, but I wanted to try the Bristol Smooth this time as I seem to be getting better results with it lately. Today was another win - the inks moved well and I was happy with the end result!

It's not as easy to see in pics, but I coated the flowers with Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle and the shimmer when the light catches it is just gorgeous. I did some sponging on another piece of Bristol Smooth using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink before attaching the tulips to it.

I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the tulips again with the Milled Lavender Distress ink and stamping another sentiment from the Timeless Tulips stamp set and that was it!

Mama Elephant Bunny Bags | AmyR 2017 Easter Card Series #4

Hello everyone! I had SO much fun making these Bunny treat bags today:

I used two different Mama Elephant die sets to create the treat bags and the Gable Box. Both create a good sized treat bag/box which I really like.

And of course I used the Favor Bag Accessory - Bunny die set to make these into Easter-themed treat bags.

I used Echo Park's Easter Vellum Dots for all the bags and the Gable Box. It's a really sturdy, heavyweight vellum so it's perfect for something like this in my opinion. I used red-line adhesive to adhere all the bags and box together as it's a good strong adhesive - I know some people don't like that kind b/c the release film gets everywhere as it's static-y and you have to cut it (which I agree with LOL). I've linked to scor-tape in the supplies as well as the red-line tape which holds just as well and is easier to use as you can just tear it and it peels off nicely too.

I kept these all fairly simple since I wanted to make 4 of them to put some little treats in for my munchkins next weekend. Considering how easily and quickly they came together I don't think it would be much more time and effort to jazz them up some more if a person wanted to!

Mama Elephant Freesia Cards | Watercolor with Tombow Markers

Hello everyone! I made these cards not too long ago and finally got the video footage edited and uploaded (it's a long video for this one :)):

I got this fabulous Mama Elephant Freesia stamp set not too long ago and have been itching to ink it up. After googling the flower (b/c I am clueless when it comes to flowers, or plants in general really) and seeing that it can pretty much be any color possible I couldn't just settle on making one card with one color - so I made 4.

I stamped all the images onto Canson XL watercolour paper with VersaMark ink and heat embossed them with detail white embossing powder.

I used my Tombow markers and a Silver Size 6 brush to watercolour all of them in. I kept the backgrounds soft with diluted color and then coloured directly onto the watercolour paper with the markers before pulling the color out with the wet brush.

The die cut sentiments are from My Favorite Things, I created ombre washes then die cut them to match the colors I used on the flowers.

I used the MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangles Die-namics to die cut all the watercolour panels - I LOVE this Die-namics set and it's one of my go-to's when creating cards like this. It gives the extra detail of the fun stitched lines without needing to add any extra layers.

I finished off the insides of all the cards by stamping the Freesia image again and then stamping the sentiment from the set with black ink and that was it!

C9 Hello Lovely | Tombow Markers | Color Throwdown 435

It's late here but I would have been on time if I hadn't run into technical difficulties! Me and my excuses....

Anywho - this week's Color Throwdown challenge is a great one:

Here's what I made:

I HAD to use the Hello Lovely stamp set from Concord & 9th again - just had to! After I posted my previous card using it I was dying to ink it up again and do some watercoloring with it. So I did :).

I heat embossed the image onto Canson XL watercolour paper with detail white embossing powder then used 3 Tombow markers (4 if you include the grey marker I used to add a little bit of shading around the outside of the image) to watercolour in the image.

The die cut sentiment is from Mama Elephant, I watercolored a scrap of the same Canson XL watercolour paper and blue marker I used on the floral image. I also added a tiny bit of shimmer to the die cut sentiment and to add the splatter with my Prima Metallic watercolour set. 

As a finishing touch I added some Studio Katia Sparkling Crystals to the image - they look more round in the photo here but in real life they have a flat top and look like flat backed rhinestones. SOOOOOO pretty.

I kept the inside of the card simple and just stamped the floral image again with Versamark ink and that was it!

Hello Lovely Happy Birthday CAS Card

Hello!! Happy Monday!? I'm finding today to be a rather frustrating Monday however I do have a CAS (clean and simple) card to share with y'all that I whipped up last night:

I absolutely LOVE the Hello Lovely stamp set from Concord & 9th, and it took me quite a while to get my hands on it as it kept selling out after they released it! Once I got it though and showed it in a haul video i had a lot of you ask me to show how the "splotchy" stamps in the set were supposed to be used. Funny thing is is that I got the set mostly for the large floral image as all I want to do is watercolour it LOL!

However last night I wasn't in the mood to do anything detailed or time-consuming - so I pulled out this set and made this card with all the splotchy images. It came together so quickly I am starting to think I need to make a point of using images like this more often!

I paired this set with the large Happy Birthday sentiment from the Mama Elephant Birthday Wishes stamp set that I just got (bonus points to me for inking up a stamp set so soon after getting it LOL).

I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the Hello Lovely floral image with SSS Stone Ink again and another sentiment from the ME Birthday Wishes set and that was it!

ME Botanic Hello Take 2 | Mission Gold Watercolor | Color Throwdown Challenge #431

Hey everyone! This week I'm the hostess for the Color Throwdown Challenge - so here's my inspiration:

Here's what I came up with:

After my last card with this Mama Elephant Botanic Hello image I HAD to make another card. That plus I had the embossed image already sitting on my desk so convenience took over LOL!

The image had been stamped and embossed with detail white embossing powder onto Canson XL watercolour paper. I then used my Mijello Mission Gold watercolours to watercolour in everything. After it was dry I trimmed out the image with scissors leaving a bit of a gap around the outside of the image.

I used the 2 largest dies from MFT's Blueprints 1 and Blueprints 2 Die-namics sets to die cut the Cool as a Cucumber and Safety Orange card stock. I then ran the Cool as a Cucumber CS through my Big Shot with the Wave Next Level embossing folder from WeR Memory Keepers. LOVE the texture it created!

Of course I had to add some sequins this time!

I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the large Hello image with Memento Pear Tart ink then stamping the sentiment over it with Hero Arts Black ink and that was it!

Mama Elephant Botanic Hello | Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers

Happy Saturday everyone! I had a little bit of time yesterday to make a card:

I absolutely LOVE the Mama Elephant Botanic Hello stamp set - isn't it gorgeous?

I pulled out my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to watercolour in the image after I'd heat embossed it with detail white embossing powder onto some Canson XL watercolour paper.

I used one of MFT's Stitched Scallop Basic Edges 2 Die-namics to cut the edge of the watercolour paper, then popped that onto my card base over some black and white patterned paper.

I finished off the inside of the card by inking up the wavy stitching stamp from the set with the same markers, and added a stamped sentiment (also from the same set) and that was it!

Mama Elephant Little Emotions | Masculine Card | Copic Markers

Hey everyone! I finally got a chance to edit and upload this video of a card I made last week using Mama Elephant's Little Emotions stamp set:

This is a 4-Bar Size Card (3 1/2 x 4 7/8")

I've never used my Copic markers on watercolour paper before (and don't recommend it for colouring large images unless you want to be refilling your markers constantly) but I was pleasantly surprised that it worked and didn't bleed out past the stamped lines! I will say I kept the colouring SUPER simple and didn't layer on much color at all - so that probably made a difference too.

Ignore my scribbly 8 - I messed up and then realized this was the last sticky note I had on hand so I just went with it LOL.

I show in the video how I made the inside "work" so that I didn't have to discard the watercolour paper I'd accidentally messed up ;).

Mama Elephant Tiny Ninjas | Quick & Easy Card | SSS Masterpiece Box

Hello everyone! I FINALLY got a chance to play with the Mama Elephant Tiny Ninjas stamp set that comes in the SSS Masterpiece Box (if you missed my big blog hop post about the box and what it all entails check out that post HERE, as well as my first post and video using one of the other sets HERE). Right now that's the only way to get this set - it won't be released individually until October! All the info on the sets and their individual releases is included in the Masterpiece Box info here on SSS.

OK here's the card:

This is a 4.25" square card.

I would consider this a quick and easy card - I'm not even sure how long it took me to make b/c I was fending off a one year old trying to pull open all the drawers in my desk during most of it LOL! Needless to say I ended up splicing together several bits of video footage as it took me most of a morning/afternoon to make it.

Only 2 Copic markers were used on this card - E40 and E42. Like I mention in the video I could have easily just left the main image stamped as-is and it'd still be cute but the extra few seconds of colouring were just fine.

I also coated all the hearts with Glossy Accents - and I can proudly say I am getting SO much better at actually setting cards aside to dry fully when I use GA. I used to be really bad at poking at it to check if it was dry and 99% of the time wrecking it. Or I would inadvertently set something on the card or drop the card and wreck the not-quite-dry GA :P. So I've gone a long time not ever using it and just recently started pulling it out again b/c it really does add something to the card - one just needs patience to let it dry fully!

I finished off the inside of the card with one of the sentiments from the set, and stamped one of the ninja images "sneaking" behind it (LOL) then added one more tiny die cut heart and that was it!
