Love You Bunches Cards | AmyR 2021 Valentine's Card Series #2

Hey everyone! So today's post is back to my Valentine 2021 Card Series. If you missed my first post for that you can find it here:

For today's cards I'm using some of the NEW products Honey Bee Stamps released. Their Love Letters release is huge and fabulous - you can check it all out at the links below:

Here's the cards I made for today:

I die cut the backgrounds using the new Quilted A2 Coverplate wafer die, then laid over the hearts stencil from the Quilted Hearts & Dots Stencils set and applied Frosted Petal Glacier Paste. When the paste dries it's got an almost foil-like appearance which I love.

I watercolored the bouquet from the Love You Bunches stamp set with my Prima Terrain and Prima Vintage Pastels watercolor palettes. Once they were dry I die cut them with the coordinating wafer dies, which I also used for the sentiments.

The wrap for the flowers was created with the Floral Bouquet Wrap wafer die - I die cut some of the brown paper bag that my monthly kits come wrapped in (I always recycle that paper but thankfully I had some still sitting here for this lol!).

On the insides of the cards I stamped the bouquet with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink then added another sentiment from the Love You Bunches set that was die cut with the coordinating wafer dies and that was it!

Since it's still DieCember - and this awesome sale is going on - I decided to make a couple of cards using only wafer dies:

These are 3.5 x 8.5" slimline cards.

I pulled out my DoodleBug Love Notes collection to pair with the wafer dies and card stocks. I die cut some of the patterned papers and card stocks using the Love on a Line wafer die set from Simon Says Stamp, and adhered them to a panel die cut with one of the Slimline Nested Rectangles wafer dies.

The "you" is from the I Love You wafer die set - I die cut and stacked just the "you" word to add to each of the cards, then added a bunch of Doodlebug Sprinkles from the collection to finish it all off.

The envelopes were made using Simon's Slimline Envelope wafer dies and more of the patterned paper.

To finish the insides of the cards I just used stickers from the collection and created a couple of mini scenes and that was it!

Watercolor Rainbow Cards

Hello friends!

So one of my cards is inspired by one cardmaker, and are my own participation in a hop I missed signing up for 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️. Let me explain. Justine Hovey hosted a Papercrafters Unite Against Racism Blog Hop that was a couple of days ago. You can check out her post HERE <-----click! as there's a lot of info and a LOT of links to other participants. I didn't see the sign up until it was too late but I wanted to create these cards and share my post and video.

I saw Laura Bassen's card on Instagram and it just spoke to me. I love everything she posts regardless - she is the QUEEN of color blocking and rainbow and patterns! Plus her videos are hilarious. Anywho - her card was perfection. I have the same stamp set she used (and I've used it a couple of times now in videos) and the sentiment took on a whole new meaning for me. So I put my own spin on it and made these cards:

I die cut 2 sets of rainbows from Ranger watercolor paper with Simon Says Stamp's Build a Rainbow wafer die. These are A2 cards so you can see how large this die is. I show in the video how I taped the pieces so that I could paint all the rainbow stripes in different colors.

I used the Prima Complexion watercolor palette to paint all the skin tones for one card, and the Prima Classics to paint the rainbow colors on the second card. The sentiment is from the Stronger Together stamp set and I stamped that with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.

On the insides of both cards I had die cut the Rainbow Heart wafer die from the same Ranger watercolor paper. I painted the rainbow pieces the same way - and then adhered all of it inside the cards. This way the hearts are inlaid in the card stock and everything is flat on the inside yet there's still space to write.

I finished off the cards with the Love You sentiment from the Stronger Together set and that was it.

Rainbow Fluttering Hearts Cards | Honey Bee Stamps and Inkon3 Atelier Inks

Hey everyone! Earlier this week I had these cards on the Honey Bee Stamps blog and finally got the time to share them with y'all here. 

I created a couple of backgrounds using several Inkon3 Atelier Inks. I know the inks are sold out right now (I have zero control over inventory - I just freelance and create with what I like) but I am sure Inkon3 is working overtime to replenish and restock retailers as they're super popular. I REALLY like these inks so far (I used them HERE for the first time to watercolor) and I'll share more videos using them but I'll wait till they're back in stock so I'm not always teasing everyone with them.

After blending the inks onto white card stock I sprayed the backgrounds with Sheer Shimmer Sparkle spray - you can see it better in the video how SPARKLY they are. I then die cut the backgrounds with Honey Bee Stamps Fluttering Hearts Coverplate wafer die and Fluttering Hearts Pierced Coverplate wafer die. To get multiple backgrounds from those 2 I also die cut white card stock with the same 2 backgrounds and ended up with 3 cards.

For this card I used Honey Bee's XOXO stamp set and coordinating wafer die set.

On card number two I used Honey Bee's Kisses stamp set and coordinating Kisses wafer die set.

Card number three uses Honey Bee's Heart stamp set and coordinating Heart wafer dies.

On all three cards I added Studio Katia April Crystals to add some extra bling, and finished off the insides with more die cut hearts:

I Really Like You Card | AmyR Valentine 2020 Card Series #11

Hey everyone! Happy Friday!! I'm still getting caught up on editing video footage - it feels good to be checking these off my to-do list (and feels good to be feeling back to normal!!). Here's my latest card and video:

This is another Valentine-not-really-Valentine card. I used Simon's new Heart Garland Background stamp and gold heat embossed it onto some patterned paper from the Echo Park Be My Valentine 6x6 pack. I ALSO used my all-time-FAVORITE MFT Black & White Stripes 6x6 paper. 

The sentiments are from the new Like You Words stamp set from CZ Design and I also used the outline wafer die from the Like You die set. I couldn't resist adding some Lucy's True Love bling while I was at it 😍.

I finished off the inside of the card with the remaining bits of patterned paper and another sentiment from the Like You Words set. I couldn't resist making a matching envelope using the A2 V Flap Envelope wafer die and some of the 12x12 patterned paper along with the Black & White Stripes paper!

One Background 2 Cards Take 3 | AmyR Valentine 2020 Card Series #10

Hey everyone! This week's Color Throwdown challenge is up:

Here's what I made:

I'm including these cards as part of my 2020 Valentine Series (if you missed any of the other posts thus far I'll have them all linked at the end of this post), even though they're not "valentine" cards. For me I personally LOVE making Valentine-themed cards but I keep the majority of them more open-ended and not specifically "I love you. Happy Valentine's Day" as I just don't need that many! Cards like this I can use/send all year round ❤️.

I pulled out an old favorite: Simon Says Stamp's Center Cut Heart background stamp. I clear heat embossed it onto Slate Grey card stock, then used the outline heart wafer die from the Deco Heart die set to die cut the heart. I originally intended to make one card and use the heart die cut on the inside. Instead I made 2 cards with the background on one card and the die cut heart on another.

I stamped both card bases with the new You Are background stamp with Simon's Fog ink. I then pulled out another oldie-but-goodie fave: Simon's You Matter stamp set and You wafer die. I finished off the cards with some of my favorite Studio Katia crystals.

I finished off the insides of the cards by stamping the Center Cut Heart background with Simon's Smoke Grey ink and then paired them with some Schoolhouse Red envelopes and that was it!

5 Cards with Custom Envelopes | AmyR Valentine 2020 Card Series #9

Hello everyone! OK so I shared my Unboxing Video of the Simon Says Stamp Limited Edition Valentines 2020 kit here:

SSS Limited Edition Valentines 2020 Card Kit Unboxing!

I started creating with the kit and I couldn't stop. I ended up making 5 cards with custom envelopes.

First off - the envelopes. I used Simon's new A2 V Flap Envelope wafer die that was in their Hey Bestie Release (I did a Release & Review video on that release just the other day HERE). I die cut the main part of the envelopes from Simon's card stocks and then the flaps were die cut from the patterned papers that come in the kit.

I used the Heart Pattern Doily stencil on the first card with the DecoFoil Metallix Aged Copper gel. Once dry I trimmed it down and then added ephemera from the kit as well as stamped images and sentiments from the Be My Valentine stamp set.

For my second card I used the gel over Simon's Tumbling Hearts stencil that was a part of their Love You More release (and I used that stencil in a previous Valentine post here).

I added a bunch more ephemera to this one, and another cupid from the Be My Valentine stamp set.

For the next two cards I used the rose and leaf stamps from the Be My Valentine stamp set. I stamped them onto Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 80lb card stock with Simon's Intense Black ink and then coloured them in with Copic markers.

Finally, for the last card I used the Heart Rose cling stamp from the kit and stamped and coloured it the same as the other rose images. I stamped the leaves from the Be My Valentine stamp set onto a scrap of green card stock using Delicata Celestial Copper ink. To make the images pop (and I did the same with all the stamped cupids) I brushed on Bronze Perfect Pearl Powder.

SSS Limited Edition Valentines 2020 Card Kit Unboxing!

Distress Ink + Oxide Background | AmyR Valentine 2020 Card Series #8

Hey everyone!! I'm back! It's been a crazy few weeks and I finally am feeling a lot better.

I'm still making "Valentine" cards - if you've been following this years series (I'll have links to all the previous ones at the end of this post!) y'all know I use the term "Valentine" loosely. I don't need much/if any Valentine cards but I LOVE making them. So I make them more open-ended - they can be generic love, thank you, friendship etc etc. That way I can use them for anyone.

Now on to the card:

I had a bunch of fun with ink smushing using Distress Inks and Distress Oxide inks on my non-stick craft sheet and Distress Watercolor paper. After I made the background and it was completely dry I die cut it with MFT's Lots of Hearts Cover Up Die-namics.

I used the Lots of Love Die-namics for the sentiment - stacking it 3 times from black card stock. I used Tonic's Gold Pearl Craft card for the inner part of the heart - which was totally inspired by the sentiment I added from the Smitten With You stamp set. 

Of course I had to add some bling and I used the Studio Katia Crystal Rainbow Fusion sequins.

To finish off the inside of the card I pulled out the solid heart stamp from the Cute Conversation set. I inked it up with the same Oxide Inks I used on the front of the card and stamped them onto the inside of the card. I then added another sentiment from the Smitten With You set and that was it!

I used Simon's new Tumbling Hearts stencil with one of my favorite products - Glimmer Paste. Specifically Strawberry Champagne Glimmer Paste 😍.

I used the You are Loved and You are Loved wafer dies (lol not a typo - there's 2 versions of these phrases in different fonts - it's kind of nice to have a choice!) on the cards. The new Love You sequin mix was added for some extra bling.

I finished off the insides of the cards by blending Rosie Cheeks ink over the Tumbling Hearts stencil and that was it!

Waffle Flower Blossoms Black and Gold Cards | AmyR Valentine 2020 Card Series #6

Hello everyone! Today is Waffle Flowers January 2020 release! You can check out the release HERE or at my links below:

I'm part of a blog hop to share inspiration for the release - I'll have links to all the stops on the hop further down in the post plus GIVEAWAY info at the end!

I couldn't help myself lol! I LOOOOVVVEEE black, gold and white together! I used the new Waffle Flower Blossoms stamp set (y'all know I love me some large floral stamps!), and since the floral cluster is so big it seemed PERFECT for this combo - AND lent itself to 2 cards easily.

I stamped the large floral stamp onto white card stock with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink, and gold heat embossed it onto the black card stock. On both cards I used the new Oversized Love wafer die - die cutting it from white glitter card and gold glitter card and stacking each with a couple of layers of card stock.

I stamped the large Blossoms image onto the inside of both cards with Delicata Golden Glitz ink and then stamped in black and heat embossed in gold one of the sentiments from the Blossoms set and that was it!

SSS Pawsome Cards | AmyR Valentine 2020 Card Series #5

Hey everyone! Happy New Year (a little early!). If you missed my earlier video from today you can find that here:

For now - here's 2 more cards for my 2020 Valentine Series:

I used Simon's new Pawsome Love stamp set and wafer die combo for these cards. The images in this set are SO cute and I love how you can use them and some of the sentiments for "non-specific" Valentine cards.

After my previous Valentine post here I had the idea still in my head to do something similar - only this time I used patterned paper. I chose one of the striped papers from Lawn Fawn's Really Rainbow 6x6 pack, and die cut it with the largest Basic Rectangles wafer die and one of the Nested Hearts wafer dies.

I finished off the insides of the cards by stamping the characters from the Pawsome Love set with Broken China Distress Oxide ink. I added some more of the patterned paper and the "Luv You" sentiment from the set and that was it!

One Background 2 Cards | AmyR Valentine 2020 Card Series #4

Hey everyone!

For today's cards I kept things more "simple" - basically a heat embossed background that I die cut and made into 2 cards:

I inked up Simon's new You Are background with Clear embossing ink and white heat embossed it onto some Schoolhouse Red card stock. After that I used Simon's largest Basic Rectangles wafer dies to die cut the background into an A2-sized piece. One of the Nested Hearts wafer dies was used to cut out a heart from the background - which is what I used for the second card.

I pulled out the Kristina's Love stamp set and die combo that was released a few years ago that's still a favorite of mine! I die cut the Love word from Simon's Crimson Glitter card stock and the outline from Fog card stock. I then white heat embossed some sentiments from the Kristina's Love stamp set onto black card stock and popped them on with foam squares.

I finished off the insides of the cards by stamping the You Are background with Fog ink, and then stamped sentiments from the Handwritten Love stamp set with Schoolhouse Red ink and that was it!

Easy Metallic Watercoloring | AmyR Valentine 2020 Card Series #3

Hello everyone!

First off - heads up - check out Simon's Steals and Deals section HERE <------click! and keep checking!! They posted they're doing year-end inventory etc and keep loading up that section as they clearance out products to make room for 2020! There have been some INSANE deals in there!!

OK on to today's cards:

I pulled out the new Heart to Heart Background stamp and heat embossed it twice onto black card stock - once with gold embossing powder and once with white embossing powder.

I did some quick and easy metallic watercoloring on both cards. For the one I did the gold heat embossing (tho now that I'm looking at it I think it would look GREAT if it was clear heat embossed - so then you'd see the heart outlines really well? Ugh I NEED more hours in a day to make all these ideas in my head!) I used my Gansai Tambi Starry Colors.

For this one I used the Gansai Tambi Gem Colors - and yeah I really really really love how they look on black card stock!

For both cards I used the new Love and Valentines Word Mix 2 stamp set with the coordinating wafer die set. 

I finished off the insides with a strip of the watercolored panels left over from the card fronts, and more sentiments from the Love and Valentines Word Mix 2 set and that was it!

SSS Big Picture Book Animal Cards | AmyR Valentine 2020 Card Series #2

I hope y'all are having a great weekend so far!

Since Simon Says Stamp is having this awesome DieCember wafer die sale - you can shop their entire selection HERE <-----click! - I thought I'd make a couple more cards using mostly SSS wafer dies. Specifically their Big Picture Book dies which are some of my favourites:

I made 2 Valentine-themed cards using the Big Picture Book Monkey, Big Picture Book Raccoon and then completed them with the Big Picture Book Little Body, Tails, and Crouching Paws wafer dies.

I used Simon's Leafy Frame wafer die on both cards - I just used 2 different shades of green card stock and 2 different shades of Distress Inks to blend onto them.

On each card I used sentiments from Technique Tuesday sets that were themed to each animal that I white heat embossed onto hearts die cut from the Nested Hearts wafer dies and then black card stock for the rest.
