Welcome, Little One

I was going through my card stash the one day and realized I have next to NO baby cards in it! That definitely needed to be recitifed since it seems everyone around me is pregnant right now.

I pulled out Papertrey's My Punny Valentine set and stamped just the sheep's head with VersaMark ink and embossed them with Black embossing powder.

The bodies were made with a scalloped oval Nestability die, then I adhered the head to one side.

I used a plain rectangle Nestability die on Kraft (Stampin' Up!) CS - cut it out, then stamped the grass with Versamark, and then the legs over it with Versafine Onyx black ink. I stamped the "Welcome" (from Papertrey's Year-Round Puns set) in the top left of each rectangle.

I matted each rectangle with either pink or blue CS, roughed up the edges (I use either a Making Memories edge distressor (Heidi Swapp makes a good one too), or the one that comes with SU!'s Cutter Kit), then adhered that to a white scalloped rectangle.

I finished off the card with some matching May Arts ribbon in either pink or blue, stamped the "Little One" sentiment (also from Year-Round Puns) onto the Kraft CS, then adhered it all to a card base made from Papertrey White CS.

I must say I LOVE how these turned out - and I ended up making 3 each of the pink and the blue all in one sitting - so now I should hopefully have enough baby cards when the occasion calls for it! *wink*

Papertrey February Release Countdown - 2

I gotta say that when it came time for me to choose which of the Papertrey set(s) I wanted to feature for my countdown post I had the HARDEST time choosing!! All the sets are fabulous (as usual!) and I can't wait until y'all get to see them in full!

I ended up choosing the Just Hatched set (Nichole created it to go with the Egg Boxes you can see here) because it's also great for cards too! So here we go!

Sneak_peek_by_amyr_1 I started off by cutting out an oval using my CuttleBug and Oval Nestabilities die (from the Classic Oval Large set)

I prefer to cut the image first THEN stamp on it (one of the great benefits of clear stamps - since you can see through them and line them up perfectly!).

Sneak_peek_by_amyr_2 I then chose one of the stamps from the Just Hatched set.

The stamp is clean - but I had already used it a few times before taking these pictures. You can see how stained it is in this picture.

I actually LOVE that it's stained - I find it MUCH easier to find which stamps I want when I'm going through my clear sets since the staining makes them easier to see (and read when I'm looking for particular sentiments!).Sneak_peek_by_amyr_3_3

I wanted to stamp the image using two different colors.

To make that possible I pulled out my tape and covered the areas of the stamp I DIDN'T want to get ink on.

Sneak_peek_by_amyr_4 I then used my Burnt Umber Palette cube and inked up the "Little One".

**FYI I used my label maker to label all the cubes when I first got them since they don't have the names on them like the full-size pads do.**

Sneak_peek_by_amyr_5 Once the wording was inked I pulled off the tape and inked up just the border with the WaterLily Green ink.

I purposely left the rest of the wording on the stamp un-inked - I only wanted the "Little One" sentiment for my card.

Sneak_peek_by_amyr_6 <-------and this is one of the reasons why I LOVE clear stamps!

I was easily able to line up and stamp the image onto the oval I cut at the beginning.

Sneak_peek_by_amyr_7_2 When planning this card I decided to use Prism Frosted Teal card stock (which is a PERFECT match to the Palette WaterLily Green ink).

The CS has a bit of texture to it but I wanted to liven up the card a bit - so I pulled out one of the stamps from the soon-to-be-released Polka Dot Basics set.

It only took a minute or two to stamp the entire piece. Nichole designed the stamps to line up PERFECTLY - you don't need to move them from side to side to line up the dots when stamping them - making it SO quick and easy to stamp an entire card base!

I will be reaching for this set over and over again - it's a definite MUST have stamp set!

Sneak_peek_by_amyr_9 After stamping the CS I wanted to add just a *little* something more - so I pulled out one of my rectangle Nestabilities dies and embossed it onto the CS.

Do you know I've NEVER done this before? And yet it's so easy!

I placed the die where I wanted it to be embossed, and to hold it in place I used two little pieces of tape before putting it in the sandwich stack and running it through my CuttleBug.

Sneak_peek_by_amyr_10 After embossing the Teal card stock I used a corner rounder punch on each corner and sponged the edges of it and the white oval with Burnt Umber ink.

I cut a scalloped oval frame for the main image with another Nestability die and Chocolate Chip (Stampin' Up!) card stock.

Sneak_peek_by_amyr_finished_card To finish the card I added some wide Polka Dot ribbon (Michaels) and brown brads then adhered the Teal Card stock to a base made of Papertrey White card stock.

This card measures 4.25 x 5.5".

STAMPS: Just Hatched and Polka Dot Basics stamp sets by Papertrey Ink.

CS: Papertrey Stamper's Select White, Prism Frosted Teal, Stampin' Up! Chocolate Chip.

INK: Palette Inks in Burnt Umber and WaterLily Green.

ACCESSORIES: Nestabilities Dies, Sponge Daubers, Ribbon, Brads, Dimensionals, Tape.

There were several questions asked in the comments on this post - here they are:

I am trying to decide if I need a cuttlebug or a cricut or both - which do you recommend??

Honestly - I don't own a cricut. The only die-cut machine I own (and have ever tried!) is the CuttleBug. I someday hope to be able to purchase a cricut b/c I think it would be a really fun machine to own (especially as I get into scrapbooking more and as my girls get older and start school I think it will be a useful tool to have for projects and whatnot).

Can you tell me what the difference is between the Cuttlebug and the Sizzix Side kick? Is it a size thing? Also will the Nestibilities work in the Sidekick, since I already own that?

I can't say anything about the differences as I've never used a SideKick - however I do know the Nestabilities will work in the SK - but you can't emboss with them. You can find out more about the compatabilities of the Nestabilities dies and the different die-cut machines HERE.

Where did you get the small block with the grid lines? I'd like to get one so that it is easier to line up the polka dots.

The block is from this set by ProvoCraft. And it's actually quite a large block - 2 x 6.5".

Where did you get Palette ink cubes?

Papertrey sells them individually and All That Scraps sells them in sets.

how were you able to emboss without cutting up the paper?

I use the compatability chart here - when you follow the instructions for embossing you won't cut the paper :o)

Are you using your new photography lights yet?

Yes I am - all the pictures taken for this post (and almost all of my recent posts) were taken with my new set-up!

On your Papertrey February Release Countdown - 2 you had a picture of the Cuttlebug with plates A, C, and B.  Are those the only ones you used to cut out the oval nestabilities die??  If that's true, I'm going to order them, I thought that it took a lot of messing around to get them cut out.

Yes those were the only plates I used - you can see the chart for the CuttleBug here (you have to scroll down a bit) for what you need. For just cutting with the Nestability dies you just use the plates you will have with your CuttleBug, and then to emboss you just need the tan polymer mat that both Papertrey and All That Scraps sells (and again the chart with the sandwich for embossing is here).

SUPERfast Card!

Simple_love_card_by_amyr This card LITERALLY took me about 5 minutes to make - the only reason being I already had the glittery die-cut letters sitting here otherwise it would have taken 15 minutes or so.......

When I made these 2 scrapbook pages I made red glitter card stock (embossed plain red card stock with Iridescent Ice (Stampin' Up!) Embossing Powder) then die-cut them with my CuttleBug Red Tag Alpha for the title. But I didn't like the look of that so I went with the black instead.

So I had these letters sitting here and thought I may as well USE them - so I made a card!

The patterned paper was a scrap from the scrapbook pages (it's by My Mind's Eye), I adhered it to a white card base, then adhered the letters.

I finished off the card with some black grosgrain ribbon and a heart-shaped rhinestone (from the Michaels $1 section) and that was it! And I LOVE how it turned out!! *grin*

(THIS picture was taken with my new light tent - BEFORE I ironed all the backdrops to get rid of all the wrinkles).

It's late and I'm heading for bed......is anyone else as excited as I am that LOST is starting tonight??? Tim and I have been re-watching the season's on DVD and are so pumped for it to begin again!!

2 Quick Bella Kid Cards

Bella_special_boy_by_amyr I made both of these cards the other day in record time.

Both the miniwagonfella and miniwagonbella were stamped and colored in some time ago - so then all I had to do was assemble the cards!

I kept them both simple - I don't see a reason to put a TON of time and effort into a card for a child who isn't going to care much about it anyway if you know what I mean. If the mom is a stamper then yes I'll go to more effort *wink* - but otherwise I try to keep it CUTE- but simple.

I used my CuttleBug Stars embossing set to emboss the stars on the turquoise card stock, then stamped the sentiment (comes with the miniwagonfella stamp) and added some DoodleBug brads.

The ribbon is from Michaels.

STAMPS: Miniwagonfella and sentiment by Stamping Bella. CS: Papertrey White, Black And Tempting Turquoise (Stampin' Up!). INK: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copic Markers. ACCESSORIES: Ribbon, CuttleBug Stars embossing set, Brads.

Bella_special_girl_by_amyr I kept the layout on this card almost the same as the other one to keep it quick and simple.

I used my CuttleBug Bloom Dots Embossing Folder to emboss the pink card stock then stamped the sentiment below and added the DoodleBug Brads.

The ribbon I got in a ribbon share months ago (I'm pretty sure it's from RABOM).

STAMPS: Miniwagonbella and sentiment by Stamping Bella. CS: Papertrey White, Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip (Stampin' Up!). INK: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copic Markers. ACCESSORIES: Ribbon, CuttleBug Bloom Dots Embossing Folder, Brads, Dimensionals.

FYI these pictures weren't taken with my new light tent - I took them before I got it (and am too lazy right now to start re-taking pics that have already been shot, uploaded and edited!).

2nd FYI - Stamping Bella is having a "Pajama Party" TONIGHT over on her Splitcoast Member Forum. It's running from 8:00-10:30 Central, with 3 challenges, prizes, and specials in celebration of the new line of stamps she's releasing tonight at 10pm!! I don't know for sure if I can make it but I DO know that I can't wait to see the new stamps!!

LOVE Scrapbook Pages

I got 2 more pages done!! YAY!

I worked on this 2-page layout on and off all day Sunday, finished them Sunday evening then took the pictures of them with my new Light Tent (it's a 24" tent and these are 8x8 scrapbook pages - the 2 of them fit perfectly inside). I have to say I am loving the tent! ESPECIALLY for taking pictures like this - usually I have to take a LOT of shots and have to deal with glare on the photos and not being able to get a very clear end result - with the tent I only took a few shots and it was done! :o)

*You can click on the picture to get a pop-up window with a larger image*

I printed the pictures myself with a Kodak EasyShare 5300 printer - they were 5x7 with a border and I cut the border off so they're a bit smaller than that.

The patterned paper is by My Mind's Eye, and the title was done with my CuttleBug Red Tag Alpha (I embossed some black card stock with Iridescent Ice embossing powder (Stampin' Up!) before die cutting the letters) and adhered to 2 Super Jumbo Scalloped hearts.

The flowers are grey Prima Sprites, and all the bling is from the dollar section at Michaels. The die cut hearts are another CuttleBug die.

I used my Crop-a-dile to punch the holes to thread the ribbon through.

The journaling was done by hand (I HATE my handwriting - but I know that it's something the girls will appreciate when they're older (at least I'm hoping so!)) on 2 Mega Scalloped heart punch outs.

*snicker* I just love these pictures - Josie really IS a total goofball - AND a drama queen - it will be really interesting to see what she's like as she gets older!

More You're So Sweet Samples

Gkd_sweet_birthday_by_amyr Here are a couple more cards I made with GinaK's How Sweet It Is stamp set (with $7 from the purchase of every set being donated to diabetes research).

When I made this card I was in a purple mood - so I pulled out some Bazzill gumdrop card stock and went from there...

The image was stamped then colored in with Copic markers.

Gkd_sweet_birthday_closeup_by_amyrI added Liquid Applique to the icing and before I heated it I poured on Making Memories purple glitter (you can click on the pics to get a pop-up window with a larger image).

I finished off the card with a Making Memories clip (that I tied a bit of May Arts ribbon to) and a sentiment from the set (I used a circle punch to round the edge of it).

STAMPS: How Sweet It Is set by GinaK Designs. CS: Papertrey White, Basic Black and Lovely Lilac (Stampin' Up!), Bazzill Doodlebug in Gumdrop. INK: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copic Markers. ACCESSORIES: MM Glitter, Liquid Applique, MM Cheeky Clip, May Arts Ribbon, Dimensionals, Corner Rounder and Circle Punch.

Gkd_sweet_baby_by_amyr I have to say I LOVED how this card turned out!

I stamped the stork onto Kraft (Stampin' Up!) card stock then pulled out my Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol to color him in (I haven't used them in MONTHS but they helped me achieve the look I was going for!) then outlined the image with a warm gray Copic marker.

I used one of my scalloped rectangle Nestabilities dies to cut out and emboss the image.

I stamped the sentiment with Versamark then embossed it with white embossing powder.

Finished off the card with a bit of paper-piercing and some white eyelets and that's it!

STAMPS: How Sweet It Is set by GinaK Designs. CS: Papertrey White, raft, Not Quite Navy and Black (SU!). INK: Brilliance Graphite Black, VersaMark, Copic Marker. ACCESSORIES: Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol, Spellbinders Nestabilities Die, Dimensionals, Taffeta Ribbon, Paper Piercer, White EP, White Eyelets.

I'm a DIVA Again! And a Scrapbook Page Sketch...

GinaK's Design Team was asked to participate in this week's Splitcoast DIVA Scrapbook challenge and I was able to get a couple of pages done for it! (A MAJOR accomplishment for me b/c ever since I did the inaugural DIVA challenge with Papertrey I haven't scrapped a page since! So much for my New Year's resolution eh??)

You can find out more about this challenge HERE <-------click!

These pages came easy for me though - I've had the idea for them for months and so it was only a matter of clearing some space off my desk and getting to work!

I took these pictures back in the summer before we moved - and when Gina released her Make a Wish - Stamps For a Cause set with the dandelion image I KNEW I'd have to use that with these pictures on a scrapbook page!

This is a 2-page layout - the pages are 8x8" (I am LOVING this size - I used to do 12x12 pages and while I like having more room for pictures, I started to dread making them b/c they took up so much room on my desk and it was just getting difficult to be able to get a page done without having every available surface covered! Now that I'm doing this size tho I can do a 2-page layout and it doesn't take nearly as long and doesn't take up nearly as much space! LOVE it!).

Sb_diva_sketch_by_amyrI was originally only going to have one 4x6 picture per page, but as I was going through all the pics I had taken I found so many more that I wanted to use! So I came up with this layout:

I cropped the main pictures to 3x5", and the smaller ones to 2.5x4".

Gkd_diva_sb_challenge_closeup_2_by_ GinaK's dandelion stamp was inked up with craft ink, stamped onto the card stock, then embossed with Iridescent Ice (Stampin' Up!) embossing powder.

Gkd_diva_sb_challenge_closeup_1_by_ The letters are all die-cut - I just love how they turned out!

I used a couple of pieces of Pink Passion (SU!) card stock - covered them with VersaMark ink then with Iridescent Ice EP and heated them. Once they had cooled I used my CuttleBug Red Tag Sale Alphabet to cut out the letters I needed.

EDITED TO ADD: Yes I am quite proud of my idea to make glittery card stock to die cut the letters from (at first I was planning on die cutting the letters then covering them with some sort of adhesive and THEN covering them with glitter - but then I thought "there has to be a better (less messier!) way!!" and came up with this idea). For something even EASIER - you can actually buy glitterfied card stock in yummy colors - DoodleBug Sugar Coated CS to be exact - which will definitely be going on my next order from ATS (b/c I STILL had VersaMark and Iridescent Ice EP all over the place....).

I also used that alpha set to die cut 2 small tags (the set comes with a die for one large and one smaller tag) that I stapled ribbon to and slipped behind each main picture to use for the journalling.

The ribbon is from Michaels (I used sticky strip to attach the ribbon to the bottom of the page), the flowers are Prima and I used Dollarama (jumbo) brads and Bazzill Brads to attach them.

If you'd like to use this sketch to make a page (or 2!) and upload it to Splitcoast please use the keyword SBDD10_AmyR so that it's easier to find!

STAMPS: Make a Wish stamp set by GinaK Designs (Stamps For a Cause). CS: Wild Wasabi Textured, Pink Passion (Stampin' Up!). INK: VersaMark, Garden Green Craft Ink. ACCESSORIES: Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, CuttleBug Red Tage Sale Alphabet Dies, Prima Flowers, Brads, Ribbon.

Stay tuned - my Friday card sketch will be posted later today!! :o)

Piggies and Wiis and Birdies....

LOL so I see there are a LOT of you out there that love your Wii's!! Too fun. Thank you everyone for the game suggestions - Guitar Hero is now on the list (thankfully Tim's birthday is only a couple of months away and I'm thinking that might be the perfect gift! He got to try the game out yesterday at a co-workers house and had a blast!)

Tim is friends with another couple here in town and they have a Wii and have invited us over to play with them (they have a HUGE TV and with our new controller plus theirs we'll have enough for us to all play at once - which will be interesting as I haven't yet played it!) so we'll get to try out what games they have before we have to start buying our own (sadly you can't rent them here in town - and the closest Blockbuster is over an hour from here...)

I haven't even unpacked our Wii yet - I was too tired last night and today I've been busy with the girls and getting things done for DT deadlines - and besides I'll let Tim do all the unpacking and hooking up and "technical stuff" when he gets home from work *wink*

ANYWHO - on to the cards!!

Ccd_tweetheart_by_amyr_2 Did I mention I LOVE CC Designs two new sets? Well I do!

I stamped the love birds from the Love Ya Much set, then colored them in with Copic Markers and punched out the image with my Marvy Mega Scalloped oval punch.

The patterned paper is from the Ba Ba Black Sheep line by Piggy Tales - I used the green side of one of the papers and ran it through my CuttleBug with the A2 Heart Blocks Embossing Folder.

The red felt flowers are from the pack Lauren got me from Target (100 flowers for $1! Can't beat that...) and I attached them to the card with Sahara Sand Eyelets (from Stampin' Up!).

The velvet ric rac is May Arts (yet another thing I LOVE - it is the softest and most plush ribbon EVER...)

STAMPS: Love Ya Much set by CC Designs. CS: Papertrey White, Black, Sahara Sand (Stampin' Up!), Piggy Tales Patterned Paper. INK: Brilliance Graphite Black, Red, Copic Markers. ACCESSORIES: Marvy Mega Scalloped oval punch, A2 Heart Blocks Embossing Folder, Felt Flowers, Eyelets, Ric Rac.

Ccd_wild_about_you_by_amyrFor this card I used the piggy from the Love Ya Lots set - colored him in with Copic markers, then masked him and stamped A Muse's Mini Oval as ground.

I punched him out with my Marvy Super Jumbo Scalloped Circle punch, and the patterned paper with the Mega Scalloped Circle.

The patterned paper is from the same Piggy Tales collection.

The ribbon is from Stampin' Up! - last year's Winter Mini - I bought an extra pack of it before it retired of course! *wink*

The sentiment is also by A Muse - I stamped it onto the black card stock and embossed it with white embossing powder.

Another Target felt flower attached with an eyelet and that was it!

STAMPS: Love Ya Lots by CC Designs, Mini Oval and sentiment by A Muse. CS: Papertrey White, Black, Patterned Paper by Piggy Tales. INK: Brilliance Graphite Black, Certainly Celery (SU!), VersaMark, Copic Markers. ACCESSORIES: Marvy Super Jumbo and Mega Scalloped Circle Punches, Ribbon, Felt Flower, Eyelet, White EP.

January Papertrey Release

Pt_hi_there_card_by_amyr Last night marked the release of two new Papertrey sets - Mixed Messages and Out on a Limb - both awesome sets!

My sets *just* arrived yesterday afternoon so I had to scramble to get my samples made in time - I hope y'all like them!

Sadly my heart shaped tins haven't arrived yet and will prolly be at least a good week till they get here - I can't wait to get my hands on them!

Anywho - this first card uses the new Mixed Messages set along with PT's Beautiful Blooms stamp set.

I just love how small all the sentiments are in the set - they fit on all kinds of things (CuttleBug Tiny Tags dies, small punches, the smaller Nestabilities dies etc etc etc).

For this card I stamped the flower then stamped the sentiment as the flower center (and enhanced it with a medium Making Memories Page Pebble).

I used my Marvy Giga Scalloped Rectangle Punch for the black part, and cut a slit through the card underneath it to thread the ribbon through.

STAMPS: Mixed Messages and Beautiful Blooms stamp sets. CS: Papertrey White, Black.
INK: Colorbox Pigment Ink in Pink, Versafine Onyx Black, Certainly Celery Classic (Stampin' Up!).
ACCESSORIES: Marvy Giga Scalloped Rectangle Punch, White Taffeta Ribbon, Making Memories Medium Page Pebble, Corner Rounder Punch.

Pt_with_sympathy_by_amyr For this card I stamped the limb, flowers and berries using Stampin' Up! Classic inks then added dots of Bravo Burgundy ink with an AquaPainter for the flower centers.

The scalloped rectangle was made with a Nestabilities die (I cut it out first then stamped it), and after stamping the sentiment I used my Making Memories Ribbon Notch Tool to make the holes to slide the ribbon through.

I think this was the first time EVER that I've made a card entirely out of patterned paper!

IPt_with_sympathy_inside_by_amyr used Chatterbox patterned card stock (it's heavier weight than their paper) called Soft Flowering Vine (from the Loft Collection). I have had it in my stash for well over a year if not two - I couldn't even tell you where I got it from it was that long ago!

Anyway I made the card from the patterned card stock, and for the inside I used my Largest Scalloped Rectangle Nestabilities die on white card stock to adhere to the inside to give it a more finished look.

STAMPS: Out on a Limb. CS: Papertrey White, Black, Chatterbox Small Flowering Vine card stock. INK: Old Olive, Regal Rose, Bravo Burgundy and Bashful Blue Classic Inks (Stampin' Up!), Versafine Onyx Black.
ACCESSORIES: Scalloped Rectangle Nestabilities Die, Corner Rounder Punch, Making Memories Ribbon Slot Punch, Wide Rose Grosgrain Ribbon.

Pt_love_tin_by_amyr I really love how this tin turned out! It's one of Papertrey's Large Hinged Tins, and I just traced the lid onto a piece of Kraft card stock with a pencil and cut it out to cover. I did a second piece to fit on the inside of the lid.

I stamped the limb onto the card stock with Chocolate Chip Craft ink, then I took the 3 little hearts from the My Punny Valentine set and stamped them in Regal Rose, Real Red and Whisper White ink.

The sentiment is from Mixed Messages (this one sentiment is my favorite!) and I stamped it onto a CuttleBug Tiny Tags Die-cut, then attached it to the card stock with 2 Making Memories heart brads.

Pt_love_tin_inside_by_amyr For the inside of the lid I stamped the sentiments - making sure to keep them far enough apart to be able to stamp the heart.

Both the outside and inside pieces were edged with White Craft Ink before adhering.

To finish off the tin I adhered red Satin May Arts ribbon around the edge (fits perfectly).

STAMPS: Out on a Limb, Mixed Messages, My Punny Valentine (hearts). CS: Papertrey White, Kraft (Stampin' Up!). INK: Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Regal Rose and Whisper White Craft Inks (SU!). ACCESSORIES: Large Hinged Tin, CuttleBug Tiny Tags Die, Making Memories Heart Brads, May Arts Satin Ribbon.

Friday Sketch #2

Here it is! The second installment to my new Friday Sketch feature:

Pt_mass_produce_ladybug_thank_you_2 This is actually a layout I did a couple of months ago (you can see the original post here) and had scribbled it down in my inspiration journal to use again.

I wanted to make up several more thank you cards for my mom as well as my own use so I pulled out a sheet of Crate Paper and cut it into strips (3 x 5 3/8").

I got 8 pieces out of that so I made 8 cards.

The stamps are from Papertrey - their Little Lady set (yet another one of my all-time favorites!). I stamped the ladybug using Rocket Red Brilliance Ink and the black is Versafine Onyx black.

I even slightly curved the sentiment (I curved it as I was placing it on the acrylic block) before stamping it as it didn't look quite right straight (another thing I love about clear stamps is the ability to do that - so neat to be able to customize them for your project!).

I used my circle nestabilities dies with my CuttleBug to cut the circles and scalloped circles, and Stampin' Up!'s photo corner punch for all the photo corners.

I used sticky strip to adhere the length of May Arts velvet ric rac (added a really nice touch!).

STAMPS: Little Lady set by Papertrey Ink. CS: Papertrey White, Black, Crate Paper. INK: Versafine Onyx Black, Rocket Red Brilliance Ink. ACCESSORIES: Nestabilities Circle and Scalloped Circle Dies, SU! Photo Corners Punch, May Arts Velvet Ric Rac.

Amyrs10And here's the sketch:

And don't forget to link directly to your creation in the comment section of this post so that I can see it too!

Quick 'n' Easy

Thank_you_bella_by_amyr_2 Here are a couple more Bella cards I made before the holidays as part of the gift sets I gave to friends (at the end of this post you can see how I packaged them....)

For this card I used some more of my K&Co paper that I got from Costco, Gardenbella, the A Muse Mini Oval and a sentiment from Stampin' Up! (Much Appreciated stamp set).

I colored the bella in with Copic markers then masked her to stamp the oval (**you can see the tutorial on how I do this here).

That funky little felt flower I got from Lauren - she got me all these cool goodies from the Target Dollar spot (I would so love to have Target in Canada - wouldn't that be fabulous???) and the one container had 100 felt self-adhesive flowers in it - for $1!!!!! How cool is that?

So anyway I attached the flower with an eyelet, added some ribbon and sewed around the card base with my sewing machine.

I ran a coordinating piece of paper through my CuttleBug using a scalloped rectangle Nestabilities die before stamping the sentiment and adhering it to the card.

STAMPS: Gardenbella by Stamping Bella, Mini Oval by A Muse, Thank You from the Much Appreciated set by Stampin' Up!. CS: Papertrey White, Barely Banana and Lavender Lace (SU!), Patterned Paper by K&Co (Costco). INK: Brilliance Graphite Black, Certainly Celery, Copic Markers. ACCESSORIES: Ribbon, Felt Flower, Eyelet, Sewing Machine, Nestabilities Diecut.

Bridal_bella_by_amyr This card was super quick and easy to make.

I lightly outlined Sposabella's dress with a really light pink Copic marker, then colored in the other parts and punched the corners of the main image with SU's Ticket Corner punch before sponging the edges.

The patterned paper was a scrap sitting on my desk (from SU's Bali Breeze collection), after adhering it I added a photo corner (SU!'s Photo Corner Punch) and some Chocolate Chip satin ribbon.

STAMPS: Sposabella by Stamping Bella. CS: Papertrey White, Soft Sky Textured, Chocolate Chip, Bali Breeze DS Paper (all SU!). INK: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copic Markers, Regal Rose Classic Ink. ACCESSORIES: Ticket Corner and Photo Corner Punches, Satin Ribbon, Bazzill Brad, Sponge Daubers.

Bella_gift_card_box_by_amyr_2To package up all the Bella cards I gave as gifts I used Papertrey's Clear boxes - scroll down a bit to see them (I LOVE those boxes - they just make a gift of cards look so much more polished and professional!).

I was able to fit 10 cards into a box (it took a little squeezing as they all had ribbons/primas/embellishments etc etc) so in order to include envelopes I added them behind the box then used a good length of May Arts ribbon to tie them in place.

I made a tag with my marvy scalloped circle punches and Papertrey's Spooky Sweets set (it has the "To From" stamp).

I then punched a hole in the tag and then just pulled the bow I had tied on the box through it to hold it in place and that was it!

Friday Sketch! #1

Well the majority of people who answered my "when to post sketches" question said that Friday would be best - and since I'm good with that then Friday Sketch it will be! So check in every Friday for a new sketch!

And to start it off here's a fun little Valentine card I made yesterday:

Gkd_love_piggies_by_amyr Since I don't have any of GinaK's soon-to-be-released sets (insert sad face) I pulled out some of my older ones to make this card - Down on the Farm and J'adore.

This piggy stamp is one of my absolute favorite GinaK stamps - and I stamped him twice onto white card stock, then hand drew a little bow on the left one to make "him" a "her" LOL.

I colored them in with Copic markers then added a little heart-shaped brad (Provo Craft) that I covered with Xmas Red sitckles.

The heart was made by running a red piece of card stock through my CuttleBug with the Heart Blocks embossing folder, then punching it out with my Marvy Mega Scalloped Heart Punch.

I finished off the card with the word Love from the J'adore set, another Provo Craft heart brad and some wide grosgrain ribbon.

STAMPS: Down on the Farm and J'adore stamp sets by GinaK Designs. CS: Papertrey White, Black and Red (Stampin' Up!), Prism Perfect Baby Pink. INK: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copic Markers. ACCESSORIES: Provo Craft Brads, CuttleBug Heart Blocks A2 Embossing Folder, Marvy Mega Scalloped Heart Punch, Xmas Red Sitckles, Wide Grosgrain Ribbon.

Penguins?? No DUCKS!

I've had the CC Designs Little Penguins stamp set sitting here on my desk for a couple of weeks now - and as I pulled them out of their case the other day Veronica took a look at them and started talking about the cute duckies - and I thought of COURSE! So the credit for all these cards goes to her!:

Ccd_favorite_peeps_by_amyr I stamped the little balloon penguin onto white card stock, colored him in with Copic markers, then masked him and stamped A Muse's Micro Oval BL (this is their smallest oval and is PERFECT for these little guys!) in celery ink for the ground.

I punched the main image out with my Marvy Mega Scalloped Oval Punch.

The sentiment is also by A Muse.

I used my Nestabilities Large Circle die to cut the circle out of the textured Soft Sky card stock (Stampin' Up!).

STAMPS: CC Designs Little Penguins set, A Muse Micro Oval and sentiment. CS: Papertrey White, Barely Banana and Soft Sky Textured (Stampin' Up!). INK: Brilliance Graphite Black, Certainly Celery (SU!), Copic Markers. ACCESSORIES: Marvy Mega Scalloped Oval Punch, Nestabilities Large Circle die, Michael's Ribbon, Prima Flower, Bazzill Brad, Dimensionals.

Ccd_hugs_by_amyr For this one I stamped both penguins AKA ducks onto white card stock, colored them in with Copic markers then masked them and stamped A Muse's Small Oval in pink ink.

I punched the main image out with my Marvy Mega Scalloped Heart punch and sponged the edges with Real Red (Stampin' up!) ink.

The heart-textured background was made with my CuttleBug and the Heart Blocks A2 embossing folder.

I finished off the card with a couple of pink heart brads (by Provo Craft - I got them at Michaels last year), some May Arts ribbon and the sentiment (from the Little Penguins set).

STAMPS: CC Designs Little Penguins, A Muse Small Oval. CS: Papertrey White, Pretty in Pink, Basic Black and Real Red (Stampin' Up!). INK: Brilliance Graphite Black, Pretty in Pink, Real Red (SU!). ACCESSORIES: Marvy Mega Scalloped Heart Punch, Dimensionals, CuttleBug Heart Blocks Embossing Folder, May Arts Ribbon, Provo Craft Heart Brads.

Ccd_sittin_here_by_amyr I had a few circles of card stock sitting on my desk and instead of tossing them I used them on this card.

I stamped the image onto white card stock, masked stamped the oval and colored him in with Copics then punched him out with SU!'s 1 3/8" Circle Punch.

The sentiment is by A Muse (one of my favorites).

I added some Primas and some May Arts ribbon and that was it!

STAMPS: CC Designs Little Penguins, A Muse Micro Oval and Sentiment. CS: Papertrey White, Pretty in Pink, Soft Sky Textured, Going Gray (Stampin' Up!). INK: Brilliance Graphite Black, Certainly Celery, Copic Markers. ACCESSORIES: Circle Punches, Nestabilities Circle Die, Primas, Brads, May Arts Ribbon.

So really this set has DOUBLE the versatility that I originally thought it did - b/c not only is it a year-round set but depending on how you color them they can be ducks or penguins or any other bird-type creature you come up with LOL! Gotta love it.....

Winter Playtime

Ccd_snow_day_by_amyrHere are a couple of fun wintery cards I made last night using images from CC Designs Winter Playtime stamp set.

I stamped Lucky onto white card stock and colored him in with Copic Markers then used some White Opal Liquid Pearls to make snow. I punched out the image with my Marvy Giga Scalloped Rectangle punch then stamped the sentiment (inking up half at a time).

I was given these snowflake embellishments months ago and they weren't in a package so I have no idea who makes them. They silver metal and lightweight and I attached this one with a Bazzill brad then added Liquid Pearls to it here and there.

The background was made with my CuttleBug and the Sledding embossing folder (perfect for this set of course!).

I then assembled the card and added some May Arts ribbon and it was done!

And here's the sketch I did upAmyrs2 for this card: If you'd like to use the card for personal inspiration and you upload your creation to the SCS gallery using it you can use keyword AMYRS2 and link to your card in the comment section on this post!

STAMPS: Winter Playtime by CC Designs. CS: Papertrey White, Soft Sky Textured and Pixie Pink (SU!). INK: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copic Markers. ACCESSORIES: Marvy Giga Scalloped Rectangle Punch, Liquid Pearls, May Art Ribbon, Snowflake Medallion, Bazzill Brad, CuttleBug Sledding A2 Embossing Folder.

Ccd_winter_playtime_by_amyr And here is the second card I made - this time using Lulu's image from the set (it makes me giggle that she's holding one of the snowman's arms LOL!).

I stamped the image then colored it in with Copic markers and added Liquid Pearls to her jacket. I punched out the image with my Marvy Mega Circle Punch and matted it with my Giga Scalloped circle punch.

This snowflake was the other style of ones that were given me - and I attached a jump ring (you can get them at Michael's in the jewelery section) to it to be able to attach it to the ribbon.

Amyrs3 I did up a sketch for this one as well (and again if you'd like to play along and upload to SCS or other online galleries you can use the keyword AMYRS3) and you can link to it here in the comment section of this post so I can see it too!

STAMPS: Winter Playtime by CC Designs. CS: Papertrey White, Soft Sky Textured and Pixie Pink (SU!), Prism Suede Brown Medium. INK: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copic Markers. ACCESSORIES: Marvy Mega Circle and Giga Scalloped Circle Punches, Liquid pearls, Ribbon, Snowflake Medallion, Jump Ring, MM Silver Brads.

Quick Elzybells Card

Elzybells_mc_by_amyr Here's a quick card I made the other night using my new Elzybells stamps (I had pulled them out because I was POSITIVE I had bought the little ice skater girl stamp and realize I didn't! I'm still kicking myself for that b/c it was my favorite one!).

I stamped the Girl With Sleigh stamp onto white card stock then colored her in with Copic Markers (her hair had to be red - Veronica LOVES these stamps and is convinced that they are her and Josie so they need to be colored to look like them LOL!).

I added Liquid Applique to her outfit and the ground and poured on Dazzling Diamonds (Stampin' Up!) glitter before heating it to make it all puffy and glittery.

The sentiment is also by Elzybells (I LOVE the font they used - I wish I knew what it was).

You can't see it by I used my Copic Spica glitter pens on the image as well so this card is blingin'!! *grin*

I kept the rest of the card super-simple. I ran a piece of white card stock through my CuttleBug with the Snowflakes embossing folder, punched out holes in the main image to run the May Arts ribbon through and added 3 light blue eyelets and that was it!

Happy Winter

Ccd_happy_winter_by_amyr I LOVE CC Designs new stamp sets - LOVE them!! And I know I'm not the only one - the respose to these sets has been wonderful!! They are just SO cute.

This was a quick card I made the other day - I stamped Lucky onto a scrap of white card stock and colored him in with Copic markers then cut him out.

The embossed background was made using my snowflakes CuttleBug folder (I haven't used any of my embossing folders in SO long - but now that I've pulled them out again I want to play some more!) and Cool Caribbean (retired) Stampin' Up! card stock.

I made the "snow" by tearing up some more white card stock, adhering it to the card, then covering the torn edges with Frosted Lace stickles.

I attached Lucky with a couple of dimensionals, and finished off the card with the stamped sentiment and striped May Arts ribbon.

This little guy just makes me grin.....

Baby It's Cold Outside!

Mft_baby_its_cold_outside_by_amyr_2My Favorite Things is releasing 3 new stamp sets Wednesday night (Dec 5) and are also having a "Cocktail Party" over on their forum at Splitcoast with prizes and all other kinds of fun things - you can find out more info here <----click!

I used the main image and sentiment from the mini Baby It's Cold Outside set (that will be released Wed.) for this card.

I stamped the image onto white card stock and colored it in with Copic markers. I re-stamped the image onto a piece of striped patterned paper (from KI memories Alpine collection) and cut out the dress and adhered it over top.

Mft_baby_its_cold_outside_closeup_bI used my Stampin' Up! Cutter Kit to distress the edges of the main image - then matted it on the same striped paper (I turned it vertical to add a little visual interest).

I added Stardust Stickles to the main image for sparkle, and a little die cut snowflake that I made with my Cuttlebug and the 2x2" Winter Die set. I covered the snowflake with Stickles as well.

The snowman patterned paper is also from the KI Memories Alpine collection - and in real life it's shimmery and GORGEOUS! I kept the card pretty minimal in terms of layers and embellishments as I wanted as much of the paper to show as possible LOL!

The ribbon is red satin by May Arts.

Got Snow?

Gkd_got_snow_by_amyr I just LOVE GinaK's new Got Snow? set - you can get it from her store here as well as here at All That Scraps.

For both of these cards I used Basic Grey's new Figgy Pudding paper (something else I LOVE - man is it ever nice paper!!) and then sponged Chocolate Chip Classic Ink here and there on the cards to match the distressed look of the patterned papers.

Copic Markers were used to color in the images (that were stamped with Brilliance Graphite Black ink).

I added dabs of liquid applique to this image then poured on Dazzling Diamonds (Stampin' Up!) glitter before heating the applique to make it fluffy and glittery.

The snowflake brads I got from my local scrapbook store a few weeks ago, and the round brads are Stampin' Up! The ribbon is brown satin from May Arts.

Gkd_winter_wishes_by_amyr I used a Spellbinders Scalloped Rectangle Die to cut out and emboss the main image, sponging the edges with Chocolate Chip ink.

The ribbon is red satin from May Arts.

Papertrey's Spiral Bouquet

Autumn_gratitude_by_amyr Today's the 15th so that means Papertrey released their newest stamp sets!! And if you haven't already looked they are yet again some faboo sets!

I only have the Spiral Bouquet set right now, the new Monogram sets (there's the Ambassador Monogram Edition and the Trajan Monogram Edition) and the new Borders & Corners Monogram Edition sets haven't arrived yet *sad face* - hopefully they'll be here soon tho and I'll get some samples posted using those too!

I had fun with Spiral Bouquet - it is SO easy to make an elegant card in literally no time at all. I think Nichole really outdid herself when designing this set!

I used Creamy Caramel, More Mustard and Chocolate Chip CLASSIC inks from Stampin' Up! (I emphasized that I used Classic inks b/c a lot of people seem to have issues using regular dye inks with clear stamps. I always just make sure to give all my clear stamps a good scrubbing in my stamp scrubber BEFORE their first use. That helps remove any residue/coating from the manufacturing process and helps prevent dye inks from beading up on the surface of the stamps so I get a solid image) on this card for a more autumn feel.

The rectangle and scalloped rectangle used for the made image were made using my Spellbinders Nestabilities dies (did you see that All That Scraps is starting to carry them now too? I am SO planning on getting all the rest of the shapes eventually!).

The ribbon I got last year from Michaels, and the brads are Bazzill. You can't tell in this picture but I used my Sakura Stardust pen on the flowers behind the main image to give them a little sparkle.

Custom_gift_wrap_by_amyr I have had the white wrapping paper from Stamping Up! since they first released it and have rarely ever used it so I thought I'd pull it out for this release.

I stamped the line images from the Spiral Bouquet set onto the paper using Wild Wasabi and Purely Pomegranate Classic inks, then wrapped the gift and added the Purely Pomegranate Satin Ribbon (that ribbon is SO gorgeous!).

I made a little card to go with the gift using a Spellbinders Scalloped Rectangle then cutting a Wild Wasabi card base just a tad larger than that.

Don't forget to check out what all the other designers did in the Ink Pad Gallery with the new sets. AND don't forget to check out everything Nichole has been posting on her blog - she's done up some FABULOUS gift ideas that you can't miss!

Christmas Cards!

Joy_christmas_cards_by_amyr I made 20 of these during the weekend retreat - and nope they weren't for me! I haven't even thought about my own Christmas cards yet this year sadly......

A co-worker of Tim's ordered 20 Christmas cards not too long ago - he told me I had creative freedom and that he wanted them to be "nice" and then paid me for them up front (and paid well - gotta love that!). I sat down and fiddled with a couple of different ideas but this one kept re-surfacing so I went with it.

The stamps used are from Papertrey's Snowflake Serenade set (this set is sold out right now but should be back in stock by the 13th!) - I LOVE this set. I think I will end up using it for my own Christmas cards this year.....

Joy_christmas_cards_inside_by_amyrThe cardstock used is Cool Caribbean (retired - I still have over 2 full packs left of it tho!), Basic Grey and Papertrey's Stamper's Select White. The inks used are Cool Caribbean, Basic Grey and Whisper White Craft ink.

------->That was what I stamped on the inside - and THAT's also why I LOVE that set - the way the sentiments and words are set up you actually have quite a bit of versatility with it!

I used my Cuttlebug and the Rectangle Spellbinders Nestabilities dies for the main image - and I spent a little extra time and ran them all through a second time to emboss them (I use the sandwich directions Nichole posted on the PT site HERE - they work like a charm!!) to kick the design up a notch. I don't think you can tell from the picture but I added teeny dabs of glue to the main snowflake then Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU!) to give it some sparkle.

The ribbon is May Arts. The snowflake brad is from a pack I got at my LSS (local scrapbooking store) specifically for these cards. They came 50 to a pack and I've used up 3/4's of them now - seems like every winter-themed project I've done lately has had to have a snowflake brad on it (y'all will see when I get some of my other creations uploaded on here over the next week or so!).

I was quite pleased with how they all turned out - and more importantly the guy that ordered them loved them and possibly wants more!

Don't forget to stay tuned to Nichole's blog as she's already started uploading sneak peeks of the new sets being released on the 15th!!

Gift Tags

Pt_gift_tags_by_amyrI sell cards in a local salon here in town and a couple of weeks ago the owner asked me if I could make a couple dozen gift tags for them to buy and put on all the different items they sell before the Christmas rush hits.

As soon as she asked me I knew exactly what I was going to make and what sets to use (which doesn't happen often LOL!).

I pulled out my Papertrey sets and ended up using Snowflake Serenade (large snowflake), Holiday Treats (small snowflake & bracket) and Spooky Sweets (the "To: From:" stamp).

I used my rectangle Nestabilities dies to make the scalloped base (FYI I have the FULL set of the rectangles in scalloped and straight - and I couldn't tell anyone whether to get one or the other - after using them and whatnot I LOVE them and I really do plan on getting them all!!) out of Cool Caribbean (Stampin' Up! - retired) cardstock.

I used Black, Cool Caribbean and Taken With Teal inks (SU!) to stamp the tags, then punched holes through the top (I used my Crop-a-dile to do that and was able to punch a bunch at the same time - made it SO much quicker and easier!) and threaded through the sheer white (with polka-dots!) May Arts ribbon.

I'm Back!!

I got back yesterday from my scrapbooking/stamping retreat and I gotta say I had a lot of fun!! I don't have many pictures to share - just a couple of the building and the lake and that's it (once I get them uploaded that is...). I spent most of the weekend relaxing and stamping and it was SOOOOO nice not to have to worry about meals and diapers and cleaning and all the fun stuff we as moms deal with on a minute-to-minute basis *wink*. It was also super nice to not deal with e-mails and blogging and being online as well (altho I did take a couple of minutes just to see what was going on in cyberspace as Julie had brought her laptop and was able to get Internet access) and just take a REAL "break".

But now that I'm back to the daily grind here's a card I made right before I left:

Mft_ccd_beauty_queen_by_amyr I used two new sets by My Favorite Things - Essential Sentiments (a MUST HAVE set - you get 28 sentiments for $15.95!!) and Build a Boquet. I just inked up the circles from the set (rolling just the edges of the stamps in the ink pad) and stamped them to look like bubbles.

The main image is CC Designs Tubby Time stamp. I stamped it onto white CS, colored it in with Copic markers then filled in the "bubbles" with Liquid Applique and poured on Dazziling Diamonds (Stampin' Up!) glitter before heating it to make it puffy AND glittery.

The scalloped rectangle was made using a Spellbinders Nestabilities die (LOVE those things!).

The cardstock used was Regal Rose and Soft Sky (SU!), and the ribbon is Soft Sky grosgrain. The brads are Bazzill.

Now I need to get all my stuff put away and get all my pictures of the cards I finished recently uploaded and edited and all that fun stuff - have a great evening everyone!

Winter Cards!!

Snowfall_on_winter_house_by_amyr I totally forgot to upload these the other day!! I made them over a week ago when I made those 2 snowmen cards and they've been sitting on my desk (so as to REMIND me to post them) ever since!

On this first card I pulled out my Snowflakes embossing folder (this has got to be one of my favorites) and embossed some Cool Caribbean (retired from Stampin' Up!) CS, then I rubbed Brilliance Moonlight White ink onto the snowflakes.

The Winter House image was stamped onto Papertrey White CS, colored in with Copic markers, then the snowflake CS was punched with my Marvy Mega Scalloped Oval punch and adhered over top.

Snowfall_on_winter_house_closeup_by I used clear glue on the scallops and the "snow" then poured on Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU!).

The twill is from Michaels (Martha Stewart brand), and the brads are SU!. I used SU!'s cutter kit to rough up the edges of the white CS, and the card base is Chocolate Chip CS (SU!).

Snowfall_on_winter_house_inside_by_ On the inside of the card I stamped GinaK's Happy Holidays stamp with the Moonlight White ink.

For this card I again used the Winter House image - this time I stamped it onto a Fabriano notecard (I got mine from StarLitStudio) using Brilliance Coffee Bean ink (heat set it) and then watercolored it with Watercolor Wonder Crayons (Stampin' Up!).

I then used clear glue and Dazzling Diamonds glitter to add a little sparkle to the "snow"!!

The Believe Script stamp is also by GinaK, and the polka-dot ribbon is May Arts.

Snowman Fun

Snowman_by_amyr I went on a sudden holiday cardmaking blitz the other day and made these 2 holiday cards (using GinaK's Snowman stamp) along with a couple others I'm saving to share later!

I stamped the snowman onto Papertrey white CS, then used Copic markers to color in his scarf, nose and buttons, then added a touch of pale aqua (BG10 Cool Shadow) on the sides of the snowman to make him look more white.

TIP: adding a pale touch of blue or very light aqua to select areas that are supposed to be white actually enhances the white!

I then punched him out with my Marvy Giga Scalloped Oval, and sponged the edges with Almost Amethyst (Stampin' Up!) ink.

I added glitter using Crystal Ice Ice stickles - and even put some on the brads to make them glittery as well.

Snowman_inside_by_amyr The embossed background was made with the Sledding Folder - I LOVE this folder - it's so cute and goes perfectly with snowman images like this!

I finished off the card by adding some Soft Sky stitched ribbon (SU!) and stamping one of GinaK's winter sentiments on the inside.

STAMPS: Snowman and sentiment by GinaK Designs. CS: Papertrey Stamper's Select White, Soft Sky, Taken with Teal and Almost Amethyst (all Stampin' Up!). INK: Brilliance Graphite Black, Almost Amethyst, Copic Markers. ACCESSORIES: Giga Scalloped Oval Punch, Crystal Ice Ice Stickles, Dimensionals, 3/16" Corner Rounder Punch, Horizontal Slot Punch, CuttleBug A2 Sledding Folder, Soft Sky Ribbon, Sponge Daubers, Bazzill Brads.

Holiday_season_snowman_by_amyr For this card I again stamped the Snowman onto white CS and colored him in with Copics, but this time I cut him out and adhered him to a Celery Giga Scalloped oval that I stamped the snowman on (so that I didn't need to cut out his twiggy arms!). I used Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the snowman as well as the scallops on the card and in real life it's SO much more glittery!

I stamped GinaK's little snowflakes stamp all over the white CS with Soft Sky ink, scalloped the edges using the 3/16" Corner rounder punch without the guide, then attached the sentiment over top with white eyelets.

The ribbon is satin ribbon from May Arts - I got several different colors in my last ATS order and OMGosh is it EVER nice ribbon!! And cheap too!! I got 5 yards of this and it was only 1.65!! The cheapo Offray satin ribbon I got at WalMart was almost twice as much as this and it's nowhere near as soft and it's not as wide either. I will definitely be getting more of this ribbon in the future *wink*!

The card base measures 4.25" square and I adhered the scalloped oval so that it doesn't make the card taller than 5.5" so that it will still fit in a standard A2 envelope.

STAMPS: Snowman, snowflakes and sentiment by GinaK Designs. CS: Papertrey Stamper's Select White, Certainly Celery, Real Red and Soft Sky (all Stampin' Up!). INK: Brilliance Graphite Black, Soft Sky, Copic Markers. ACCESSORIES: Giga Scalloped Oval Punch, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, White Eyelets, 3/16" Corner Rounder Punch, May Arts Satin Ribbon.

30th Time's the Charm.....

Gkd_baby_by_amyr I am NOT kidding when I say that either! I am still having 'Net issues and uploading pics to my blog is NOT working - it took at least a couple dozen times to get this to work! AURGH!!

Not only is it frustrating but it really cramps my time as I have SO many things to share on here and I only have so much time to spend on the computer and when it's not working......let's just say I'm thisclose to chucking it through a window!!

ANYWHO - here are a couple of cards I made last week (it's a sad state of affairs but honestly I haven't stamped in at least a WEEK!! More on that later....) using some GinaK stamps.

This first one uses her baby carriage stamp, and instead of stamping a sentiment I used the CuddleBug Baby Announcement Embossing Folder and just cut the CS to fit the words - I thought it looked kinda neat this way!

The ribbon was sent to me as a gift and was the inspiration for this card - I was sent some like this with the little pink feet and some with little blue feet - SO cute! I just wrapped it around and taped the ends to the back of the CS, and tied the bow separately and adhered it with a mini glue dot.

The main image was colored with a mix of Copics and SU! markers, then punched out with my Marvy Super Jumbo Circle punch and matted with the Mega Scalloped Circle Punch.

STAMPS: Baby Carriage by GinaK Designs. CS: Bazzill Smoothies (white), Berry Blush, Turquoise Mist and Nor' Easter (all Bazzill Fourz). INK: Palette Hybrid Noir, Copic Markers, Pretty in Pink SU marker. ACCESSORIES: CuttleBug Baby Announcement embossing folder, Marvy Super Jumbo Circle punch, Mega Scalloped Circle Punch, Bazzill Brads, ribbon.

Gkd_octopus_by_amyr_2And here is the other one I made. I wanted to make "waves" again similar to what I did on this card but this time cut the swirls out a little more.

I used GinaK's octopus and sentiment stamps (Copic markers again to color in the octopus) - and used my Marvy Super Jumbo Circle and Mega Scalloped Circle on the main image.

The ribbon was from one of Jody's ribbon shares - I wrapped it around the one end and attached the other with a staple (not to self - check stapler to make sure regular and not GREEN staples are in it before using it!!).

To finish off the card I attached a Prima (ya - HUNDREDS of Primas in my studio and it took FOREVER to find one in the right color of purple! lol) with a Making Memories rhinestone brad and voila!

STAMPS: Octopus and sentiment by GinaK Designs. CS: Bazzill Smoothies Coconut Swirl (white), Soft Sky and Basic Black (Stampin' Up!), Lavender Twilight (Bazzill Fourz). INK: Palette Hybrid Noir, Copic Markers. ACCESSORIES: Prima Flower, MM Brad, Ribbon, Staple, CuttleBug D'vine Swirl Embossing Folder, Dimensionals.

Pink Octopus

Pink_octopus_by_amyr_4 *shock* *gasp* Is it possible?? I actually made a card using the new GinaK summer stamps without using the Hit the Beach paper??

Well I DID!! ROFLOL!! I was actually inspired by one of the ATCs I got from the swap I hosted when I made this card! I changed a lot of the elements but the idea nevertheless is still there.

I used patterned paper from the 6x6 Basic Grey Pheobe line for the BG of this card. I ran the blue sheet through my CuttleBug using the D'vine Swirl embossing folder, the free hand cut it into "waves" and edged all of it with Prussian Blue Chalk ink.

The octopus was stamped onto Bazzil Coconut Swirl CS, and I used my Copic markers to color her in. I added glue with my Quickie Glue Pen and poured on dazzling diamonds glitter.

The frame around the octopus was hand drawn - I'm *hoping* my doodle stamps arrive this week!! :o)

For the sentiment I punched a hole in the waves with my Stampin' Up! Word Window punch (I had to punch it twice to get it long enough), and adhered the sentiment behind it. For a little extra "bling" I edged the punch out with glue and dazzling diamonds glitter.

The ribbon is May Arts, the brads are Making Memories, and the green, black and pink CS's are all Stampin' Up!

STAMPS: Octopus and sentiment by GinaK Designs. CS: Bazzil Coconut Swirl Smoothie, SU! Gable Green, Basic Black and Pixie Pink, Patterned paper by Basic Grey (Pheobe). INK: Palette Hybrid Noir, ColorBox Chalk Ink in Prussian Blue, Copic Markers. ACCESSORIES: Glitter, Marvy Mega Circle and Giga Scalloped Circle Punches, CuttleBug D'Vine Swirl Embossing Folder, Brads, Ribbon, Dimensionals.

Sweet Treats

Sweet_treats_by_amyr I just got this Stampendous Tiers of Treats stamp in an order from ePaperie last week and last night I decided to make a card with it!

I stamped it onto Bazzil Smoothies Coconut Swirl CS (I really do love this CS!!) with Palette Hybrid Noir ink, then colored it in with my Copic markers. I also masked the image and stamped the A Muse small skinny oval to "ground" the image.

The Sweet Treats stamp is also A Muse - I accidentally ordered it a couple of months ago when I used the wrong order # LOL!! It came in handy tho and I'm glad I got it!

The rest of the card was kept pretty simple as it was late when I finished fiddling with the main image and couldn't think straight anymore! I used the CuttleBug D'vine Swirl embossing folder on the Creamy Caramel (Stampin' Up!) CS, then scalloped the bottom edge with my SU small corner rounder punch.

The sheer green with red polka dot ribbon I got from Jacksonbelle - I've been dying to use it on a card ever since I got it :o)

Darnit I want a cupcake ROFL!!!

STAMPS: Tiers of Treats by Stampendous, Oval and Sentiment by A Muse. CS: Bazzil Smoothies Coconut Swirl, Real Red, Basic Black, Green Galore and Creamy Caramel (all Stampin' Up!). INK: Palette Hybrid Noir, Copic Markers. ACCESSORIES: Brads, Ribbon, Word Window and Small Corner Rounder Punches, CuttleBug D'vine Swirl embossing folder, Dimensionals.

Inspire_journal I've been needing a new inspiration journal for a while now - the one I have is really small and a pain to write in!! I finally decided to just make one myself using my Bind-It-All - and this was the result!!

This was actually the first major project I've done with my BIA - and I think I should have started with something a little smaller - especially as I had the girls running around me and getting into everything as I was making it so I wasn't paying the strictest attention LOL!

It turned out OK tho - the holes in the back cover aren't totally straight as I didn't push it in all the way when I was punching them, and some of the inner pages weren't punched properly either - but as it's a book I'm gonna use I'll just suck it up --------------*grin*.

I used the White BIA Chipboard covers for this (they have a really smooth finish on them that I wasn't expecting - but the paper adhered to them no problem). I covered them with paper from the DCWV Pocket Full of Posies Slab (I *just* got this in my last order and OMGosh I just love the papers!! They're pretty heavy and a lot of them have glitter on them too! I did this whole book in papers from that slab........)

I used Mod Podge and a foam brush to adhere all the patterned paper to the chipboard covers and the chipboard petal pieces.

The flower petals are from the Maya Road tin you see in the picture. I got them from eP some time ago and this is the first time I've used them - they're really cute! I traced each petal onto the patterned paper, cut out the paper and adhered it to the petals then sanded all the edges. The flower center was made by stamping a circle onto a piece of black CS in VersaMark, covering it with Heat & Stick powder (from Stampin' Up!), heating it till melted then covering it with Dazzling Diamonds glitter (also SU!) and re-heating to set.

The book was originally going to be titled "Inspiration Journal" but that took up too much space so I shortened it to "Inspire" LOL! I used black CS and my CuttleBug Olivia alphabet for that:

Tip: The Sakura Quickie Glue Pen is FABULOUS for adhering small/thin die-cut letters like this - you just trace the back of the letter with the pen then place it where you want - no mess and SO easy!!

I used ribbon I got from WalMart for the "flower stem" - just wrapped each piece around the front cover and tied it in a knot. I used up a bunch of other WalMart ribbons on the coil (which is a 1" coil by the way - it's HUGE!!) - I don't know about you guys but I have a TON of rolls of that cheap WalMart/Michaels ribbons (you can get it for like 50 cents a roll!! LOL) and almost never use it on my cards - it's great for projects like this tho!

All the inner pages of the book I cut myself out of Georgia Pacific White CS (the stuff you can get from WalMart). On a 1" BIA coil I ended up putting in somewhere close to 90 pages?? With the covers it's about 7/8ths of an inch thick. The covers I used are the 7.5 x 5.5 size.

For those wondering I use my Inspiration Journal as a place to write down different color combos that I come up with, card layouts, Splitcoast challenges, etc etc etc. I try to keep it all in one place (or all in one book!) as I tend to scribble down ideas as they occur to me onto sticky notes then lose the sticky notes!!!

Advice Book

Advice_book_by_amyr I came across this pic in my files and realized I had never uploaded it here!

I actually made this a couple of months ago for my brother-in-law and his wife. It's a Stampin' Up! Chipboard ATC album. What I did was alter it and included a ton of pieces of Vanilla CS cut to 2.5x3.5". The other bridesmaids were to have the guests at the bridal showers write down words of advice/wisdom on the cards and then they were put in the page protectors inside and afterwards the book was given to the bride and groom. I thought it was a cute idea!

I did the book in their wedding colors (red, black and cream) and kept it rather simple. The patterned paper is by Chatterbox, I picked that up at my local scrapbook store sometime around Valentine's Day especially for this book. I adhered the paper using Mod Podge to both the inside and outsides of the book then sanded all the edges.

I attached the Prima Flowers using my Crop-a-dile and some WeR snaps (they are big enough to be set in Chipboard!! I love those things! I got an assorted pack of snaps and large eyelets from my local scrapbook store months ago).

The letters were done using my CuttleBug Harmony Alphabet and run through my little Zyron "x" to put the adhesive on them.

The "Love" is actually a black metal brad from Provo Craft (got them in a pack at Michaels).

I used 2 WeR eyelets on the edge of the book and threaded through some Vanilla Grosgrain ribbon to tie it shut.

This is the only picture I have of it - I quickly took it before packing it up and mailing it off to the other bridesmaids :o)

I hope they liked it - I wasn't able to attend the bridal showers as they were 6 hours away (with 2 young children and a hubby who works 6 days a week it's a little hard for me to pack up and go LOL!!) and never did hear if they did - but I had fun making it!!

Mermaid Birthday

Mermaid_birthday_by_amyr I LOVE how this card turned out!! And it took less than 10 minutes to put together b/c the 3x3 card was already done (you can see it here) - all I did was cut off the back of the 3x3 card and attach it to the larger (4.25 x 5.5") card.

I followed last week's sketch challenge on Splitcoast - I ran a piece of Cool Caribbean CS through my CuttleBug using the new Spots & Dots folder, cut it into the two triangles (I just used my paper cutter an eyeballed it - and it turned out great!) and adhered it to the black CS. I then mounted that to the Celery card base and then attached the front of the 3x3 card and that was it.

For supplies info on what was used for the 3x3 card go to this post.

I still haven't stamped ANYTHING today. I've been attempting to clean up my desk and put things away and am trying to get my stamping mojo back! I HAVE to make a card tonight (tomorrow is Tim and my wedding anniversary (2 years married - we got married on our 5 year anniversary so we will really be celebrating 7 years together! *big grin*)) and I KNOW exactly what I want to make - I just hope I can get it done AND make it look good ROFL!

(Almost) No Stamping Required

Cb_baby_1_2 I got this new Baby Announcement CuttleBug folder in my most recent order from AllThatScraps. It doesn't look like much just looking at it but man it makes for SUPER-quick cards!!!

Cb_baby_2 I ran through several different colors of Bazzil Fourz card stock through my 'Bug with this folder - then mounted them all on SU! Confetti White card stock.

Each one literally took minutes to do - I added a bit of ribbon, notched the corners with various punches, and on a couple of them I inked the edges.

Tim really liked them - he's all for plainer cards - the less layers and colors the better is HIS opinion (LOL - MEN!).

I really did like how they turned out tho - the embossing is so crisp and deep and in real life it's impossible not to touch them!!

Cb_baby_tac I think I'll get more use out of this folder too by just cutting out the sentiment like I did for this card.

Again I used Bazzil Fourz CS (the blue), the green is Certainly Celery SU! CS, and the white was in my scrap file.

This little baby stamp is from the TAC Special Delivery set (with me being in Canada and TAC only being available in the US I get all my TAC stuff through Margaret). I stamped him using my new Versafine black ink - heat set it to dry, then used a Prismacolor marker for the skin (Light Peach) and a Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery marker for the rest.

NOTE - So far this is the only attempt I have made using the Prismacolor markers with Versafine ink - it didn't smear but when I color in images I color INSIDE the lines and try not to go over them with the markers - so I can't say for sure yet that the ink DOESN'T smear - I need to fiddle some more!

I used SU! Whisper White Craft ink to edge all the blue CS, and my Fiskars Postage scissors to cut the celery mat on the main image. I finished off the card with some grosgrain ribbons and that's it!

Cb_thank_you I actually made this card last week during my little "spree" with that Pixel Decor patterned paper and the half-dozen cards that came of it!! I needed a break from all the green and blue so I did this!!

As I was making this tho it really wasn't working for me and I almost trashed all of it - but I kept plugging away at it and it surprisingly turned out (normally when I keep fiddling w/ my cards and I'm not liking the results I end up ruining the entire thing LOL!!).

I used SU!'s new Best Bar Codes set (from the Spring Mini). It was inked up with Regal Rose Classic ink, and I used a Chocolate Chip marker on the bar code before stamping it. I then re-inked it again in Regal Rose craft ink - stamped that on a scrap of CS, embossed it with Iridescent Ice embossing powder and cut out just the solid flower image and glued it over top the plain one.

The strip of CS behind the bar code I made using the Polka Dots & Petals set.

I of course had to use the CuttleBug Thanks Words A2 embossing folder for this card, after embossing the CS I rounded the corners (w/ SU!'s small corner rounder punch) and sponged the edges w/ Chocolate Chip ink.

The big brad I got in a pack from the Dollarama, the polka dot ribbon (which is brown w/ *pink* polka dots if you can't tell!) I got from Jacksonbelle embellishments, and I tied on a little bit of the ruffled brown ribbon that was in the Winter Mini (which yes I bought an extra pack of b/c I LOVE those ribbons!).

STAMPS: Best Bar Codes, Polka Dots & Petals. CS: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose. INK: Regal Rose (classic and Craft), Chocolate Chip. ACCESSORIES: SU! Cutter Kit, Prima Flowers, Dollarama Brad, CuttleBug A2 Thanks Words Embossing Folder, Ribbon, Sponge Daubers, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, SU! Small Corner Rounder Punch.

Yellow Daffodils

Yellow_daffodils_3 I'm felling better tonight after resting quite a bit today (I even got a chance for a quick nap - now THAT was nice!) so I thought I'd share the last thing I've made w/ this Pixel Decor Patterned Paper (which I *just* noticed as I got this link is sold out!! I guess I'll have to start using the other patterns I have from that line LOL!!).

I was getting tired of the blue and green theme - so I used this GinaK Daffodils stamp and added a bright touch of yellow.

The image was again colored w/ Prismacolor Markers (and yes for those that have asked - these markers have NO lines when you color with them!) - and in real life the blue of the jug isn't so neon!! The camera really picked it up and brightened it more than it really is LOL!!

The blue and the yellow CS is Bazzil Fourz CS, the green is Stampin' Up! Green Galore, and the white is also SU!'s Whisper White - which I ran through my CuttleBug using the Ellison Shimmer Sparkle Texture Plate.

The sentiment is also by GinaK (one of my personal favorites), the ribbon is May Arts, and I added a prima with a black brad to finish it all off.

STAMPS: Daffodils and Thank You Script by GinaK Designs. CS: Whisper White, Green Galore (SU!), Bazzil Fourz (blue and yellow CS), Patterned Paper by Pixel Decor. INK: Palette Hybrid Noir, Prismacolor Markers in: Canary Yellow, Spanish Orange, rue Blue, Spring Green, Cool Grey 10%. ACCESSORIES: Mega and Giga Scalloped Circle Punches, Paper Piercer, White Gel Pen, Dimensionals, May Arts Ribbon, Prima Flower, Black Brad, SU! Cutter Kit, Ellison Shimmer Sparkle Texture Plate.

Still Bright and Cheerful!!

Flower_wagon_green OK here's a couple more cards I did using the Pixel Decor Patterned paper.

I again used Prismacolor Markers on both of these.

The images on both cards are by GinaK Designs - you can get them here.

For this one I stamped the flower wagon onto Shimmery White CS and colored in the whole thing. I then added a bit of highlights w/ my white gel pen and did a little faux stitching along the edge.

I ran the strip of blue (Bazzil) CS through my CuttleBug using the BISK (read about that here) and the Shimmer Sparkle plate.

The ribbon is from Jody's striped ribbon share.

The sentiment was also stamped on Shimmery White CS, and I added a polka dot Prima (from this) and the little green one w/ a black brad and that was it!!

STAMPS: Flower Wagon and Sentiment by GinaK Designs. CS: Shimmery White, Green Galore (Stampin' Up!), Bazzil Fourz CS, Patterned Paper by Pixel Decor. INK: Palette Hybrid Noir, Prismacolor Markers in: Spring Green, Dark Olive Green, True Blue, Goldenrod, Light Umber, Light Cerulean Blue. ACCESSORIES: Ellison Sparkle Shimmer Texture Plate, Marvy Mega Circle and Giga Scalloped Circle Punches, Dimensionals, Ribbon, Prima Flowers, Black Brad, Paper Piercer, White Gel Pen.

My_mother_my_friend I used my Stampin' Up! slit punch to make the scalloped edge on this card. And to follow the scalloped theme I used 2 Giga Scalloped squares glued together as the mat for the main image.

After coloring the main image (I also used Shimmery White CS for this one) I added Black Diamond Stickles to the flower centers (you can't see that very well but in real life it looks neat!).

The sentiment I stamped twice and used my SU! Word Window Punch to round the edge, and then attached w/ a blue SU! brad.

The ribbon I got from Jacksonbelle Embellishments. The stickles I got from StarLitStudio.

STAMPS: Flower Trio and Sentiment by GinaK Designs. CS: Shimmery White and Green Galore (Stampin' Up!), Bazzil Fourz CS, Patterned Paper by Pixel Decor. INK: Palette Hybrid Noir, Prismacolor markers in: True Blue, Apple Green, Light Cerulean Blue, Cool Grey 10%. ACCESSORIES: Slit and Word Window Punch (SU!), Marvy Giga Scalloped Square Punch, Ribbon, Black Diamond Stickles, White Gel Pen, Brads.

Thinking of You Bella

Thinking_of_you_bellaI've been having some fun these past couple of days (as I wait for my Papertrey set!!) making up a bunch of cards using this patterned paper from Pixel Decor (I got it from AllThatScraps here) as the inspiration.

I also am the proud new owner of a bunch of Prismacolor Markers!! Tim ended up chipping in for some of them as a belated-Valentine's gift and they arrived on my doorstep last week. Now don't expect me to give a bunch of insightful tips on them and whatnot - I am brand new to this whole solvent-marker craze and need to learn how best to use them!! Stay tuned to Ellen's blog tho b/c she is planning on doing a comparison between Copic and Prismacolor Markers and I KNOW that whatever she has to say about them will be the final word LOL!!

SO - for this card I used the flowahbella stamp from Stamping Bella. She's stamped onto Shimmery White (SU!) CS w/ Palette Hybrid Noir Ink. I then used various colors of Prismacolor Markers to color her in.

I used my Coluzzle to cut out the oval, then adhered it to the green CS and free-hand cut the scalloped border using my Fiskars Scalloped Paper Edgers. I personally just eyeball it when I do this and it's not 100% perfect but it's hard to tell w/ all the other elements.

The blue piece of CS is Bazzil (from their Fourz collection - I also got that from AllThatScraps here) and I ran it through my CuttleBug using the Tiny Mosaic Texture A2 Embossing Folder.

The blue ribbon is from one of Jody's ribbon shares and the green I got at Michaels. To finish off the card I added a couple of Prima flowers and the "Thinking of You" sentiment (from the Level One Stampin' Up! hostess set).

STAMPS: flowahbella from Stamping Bella, Warmest Regards (Stampin' Up!). CS: Shimmery White, Whisper White, Green Galore (SU!), Bazzil Fourz CS, Patterned paper by Pixel Decor. INK: Palette Hybrid Noir, Prismacolor Markers in Dark Olive Green, Light Peach, Dark Brown, Light Umber, Light Cerulean Blue, Spring Green, True Blue, Cool Grey 10%. ACCESSORIES: Fiskars Scalloped Paper Edgers, Prima Flowers, Ribbon, CuttleBug Tiny Mosaic Texture A2 Embossing Folder, White Bazzil Brad, Ribbon.

OK for those that were asking me about the BISK (see this post: Using the BISK) - I *just* heard from Christine (the owner of AllThaScraps) that she's been told she can NOT get any more in!!!

Using the BISK

If this is all Greek to you (as it was to ME before I got my CuttleBug!!) then you can skip this post!! Come back to it tho if you do get bitten by the Bug!! *grin*

OK people are asking me about the Big Impressions Starter Kit (BISK - I got mine here). And yes it's true - you will NOT get as deep an impression as a CuttleBug Embossing folder. WHY?? Well - the CB embossing folders emboss both the front AND the back of the CS and you can see how deep of an impression they make.

Now w/ the BISK - you only have ONE side to emboss - and you can see that the impressions in it aren't as deep as the CuttleBug's folders are. So no - no matter what you will NEVER get *as deep* of an impression w/ the BISK as you do w/ a CB folder.

But ya know what?? I'm fine w/ that - and sometimes I actually prefer the lighter impression - it's more subtle. AND the BISK has a ton of fab patterns the CB folders don't come in (like PAISLEY!!!! LOL).

One thing to help get a slightly deeper impression tho is to mist your CS w/ water before running it through (my bud Keri mists hers w/ rubbing alcohol b/c it dries way faster and she has literally no wait time!). I find you get a much better impression when the CS is lightly damp. I just use water and then blast the CS w/ my heat gun when it comes out (and yes it DOES warp the CS but I glue it down really good when I put it on the card and have no problems that way).

Also for those wanting to know what "sandwich" to make when using the BISK in your CuttleBug - mine goes:

CuttleBug A plate, Ellison texture plate w/ pattern I want facing UP, CS (slightly damp and the "front" of the CS facing DOWN), silicone rubber mat, black plain BISK plate.

That one works for me every time!!

So just make sure that you have the BISK FIRST to start out with, then you can get any of the three other sets of Ellison Texture Plates (you can see those here, here, and here) or the Fiskars Texture Plates (which I don't have yet but they are really cheap so I'm sure I'll get them eventually!!)

I hope this answers any questions y'all had about the BISK - I'm still new to this whole die-cutting/embossing machine craze but I'm learning!! And heck if **I** can figure it out then it should be a cake walk for the rest of you!! *grin*

Edited to add - please read this post as well!! (click!-------> FYI!!)

2 Looks for the Dragonfly

I got some stamping time in today - and decided to share both cards at the same time. I had an idea in my head for one card - then as I was working on it I got *another* idea and went and made that card instead!!

STAMPS: Dragonfly and sentiment by GinaK Designs. CS: White, Pumpkin Pie (Stampin' Up!), Patterned Paper by Chatterbox. INK: Palette Hybrid Noir (Stewart Superior), Black Marker, ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink in Tangerine and Rose Coral. ACCESSORIES: Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol, Fruit Punch Stickles, CuttleBug Sliders Die, Ribbon, Prima Flowers, Bazzil Brad, Making Memories Jumbo Brads, SU! Horizontal Punch, Dimensionals.

So this was my "sidetracked card" LOL!! I was quite pleased w/ it when it was done - the warm colors (inspired by this piece of patterned Chatterbox paper) are so bright and cheerful!!

I randomly stamped the dragonfly stamp onto the white CS, then added the "flight path" dots w/ a black marker (an idea I for from a card Beate did quite some time ago!!) All the dragonflies were colored in w/ Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol, then I added Fruit Punch Stickles (a really pretty glitter glue I got from StarLitStudio) to some of the wings and bodies.

I used my CuttleBug and the Sliders Die Cut to make the slider for the sentiment. I actually used the "Wool Be Friends Forever!" sentiment by GinaK, only inking up the 2 words to use on this card. After stamping and coloring on the slider I edged it w/ the Tangerine Chalk Ink. I then attached the slider to the card w/ ribbon (the polka dot is May Arts, the tangerine grosgrain I got from one of Jody's ribbon shares) that I threaded through holes I punched through the card w/ the SU! Horizontal Slot Punch.

To finish off the card I added a couple of Prima Flowers and some Jumbo making memories Brads to each corner.Basic_grey_dragonfly

STAMPS: Dragonfly by GinaK Designs. CS: White, Bashful Blue, Lavender Lace (SU!), Basic Grey Lily Kate Patterned Paper, Vellum Paper. INK: VersaMark, ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink in Lavender, Alabaster and Ice Blue, Certainly Celery Marker. ACCESSORIES: White Embossing Powder, Lime Ice Stickles, Aluminum Circle Tag, Ribbon, Ticket Corner Punch, White Gel Pen.

So THIS card was the one I originally started out to do. Well, actually I had an idea in my head and this was the result - it ended up turning out *nothing* like I thought it would!!

I stamped the dragonflies onto Vellum paper using VersaMark Ink and embossed them w/ White Embossing Powder. I then colored in the back of the wings w/ a Certainly Celery Marker, and coated the front of the wings w/ Lime Ice Stickles (also from StarLitStudio). I cut the dragonflies out and then set them aside.

The aluminum "frame" is from one of the SU! tag packs, I cut the CS out of it, attached some ribbon, and used Sticky Strip to adhere it to the CS.

I stamped the dragonflies onto the Bashful Blue CS using Lavender ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink, then added some white via my White Gel Pen. I notched the corners w/ the SU! Ticket Corner Punch. then edged the CS w/ the Alabaster Chalk Ink.

I still have some Basic Grey Lily Kate patterned paper pieces left from the keepsake box I did - so I used some for this card - I LOVE the paisley pattern!!

The final step was to glue on the embossed dragonflies - I only applied glue to the bodies and left the wings.

This is a 4.75 x 4.75" square card.

CuttleBug Video Tutorial

Ooohhhh I found THIS video on how to use the CuttleBug too! I have received SO many e-mails from ppl asking me to do a tutorial on how to use this - it's been done AND it's in video!! Definitely check it out!!

CuttleBug Machine Nth Degree Video

Edited to Add:

I have used Big Shot Impression Plates on mine, and Fiskars Texture Plates work as well. FYI you need to FIRST get the Big Impressions Starter Kit (otherwise known as the BISK - it comes w/ 3 double-sided texture plates, a silicone rubber mat, and a flat base plate) to be able to use the Big Shot Impression Plates and the Fiskars Texture Plates - you can see that here (that's where I got mine!). You can see all the Fiskars Texture Plates here.

ETA to add - check out this post I did here to learn more about using the BISK.

I can cut through *lightweight* chipboard using the CuttleBug Dies. I personally do not know if you can use other die cuts (Sizzix, Big Shot etc) w/ this machine tho I have been told you can (I don't have any other brands so I can't say!).

I HAVE tried cutting through medium-weight chipboard w/ the CB dies - but the dies themselves are not deep enough - Big Shot makes deeper dies (called Thick Cuts) that are meant for cutting through chipboard and whatnot - someday I want to get a set to try out!

ALSO - Stacy left this comment on this post:

I just wanted to comment on the CuttleBug in case someone else had the same question I asked a few days ago in response to this post. I ended up purchasing the CuttleBug and a sizzix die. It will cut thin chipboard nicely :) I tried using a bazzill chipboard chip and it cracked the "B" plate so I'll stick with the thinner chipboard. I haven't purchased any BS dies so I'm still unsure about those. Hope this helps.

Thanks Stacy for your feedback!!

LeAnn also e-mailed me and said she's using the big Sizzix dies and Quickutz in her CuttleBug with no problems.

Thanks LeAnn for letting me know!

STAMPS: Bunny Friends and sentiment by GinaK Designs. CS: White, Certainly Celery and Pixie Pink (Stampin' Up!). INK: Palette hybrid Noir, Pixie Pink, Colorbox Fluid Chalk Cat's Eye ink in Lime Pastel and Chestnut Roan. ACCESSORIES: SU! Small Corner Rounder and Slit Punches, Marvy Giga Scalloped Oval Punch, Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol, Liquid Applique, CuttleBug Bloom Dots A2 Embossing Folder, CuttleBug Tiny Tags Die, Button, Linen Thread, Ribbon (Michaels).

I've been in a major funk the past few days - and haven't felt much like stamping. However this afternoon as Josie was napping I HAD to sit down and try to stamp *something* - and I was quite pleased w/ how this turned out!!

I used the new "Bunny Friends" stamp by GinaK (isn't it the cutest?? I love it!!!) and colored it in w/ Prismacolors and Gamsol. I also added some Liquid Applique to their tails and puffed it up to make them "fuzzy" *wink*

I punched that out using my Marvy Giga Scalloped Oval Punch (look for these coming back in stock at most retailers sometime later in March), and edged that w/ a ColorBox Cat's Eye Fluid Chalk inkpad in Chestnut Roan (I just got the rest of the colors from AllThatScraps - I really like these little ink pads - the chalk ink dries really fast and gives a nice, solid, soft coverage - you can see the colors here).

I used just the first part of the "Hoppy Easter" sentiment and stamped it over and over on the Pixie Pink CS. I added a slit and a button for added embellishment - the card itself opens there:

I used my CuttleBug Bloom Dots embossing folder on the Celery CS, and then rubbed my Cat's Eye Lime Peel inkpad over the embossed parts - the ink color matched the green I used for the "grass" better so that's why I used it.

I then made a slider using the CuttleBug Tiny Tags Die and stamped the sentiment twice (one word at a time) onto the slider. I then attached it to the card using this fun ribbon I got (on sale *grin*) at Michaels and that was it!

STAMPS: Cosmobella by Stamping Bella, a*muse small oval, celebrate from Michaels. CS: Whisper White, Gable Green, Pixie Pink (all SU!), Bazzil Fourz CS (from the Aqua Collection). INK: Palette Hybrid Noir (Stewart Superior), Colorbox Fluid Chalk in Rouge, Basic Black Marker (SU!). ACCESSORIES: Tangerine Grosgrain, May Arts polka dot sheer ribbon, Ellison Design Circles Template, Magic Scraps Party Flair, Pebbles Shimmer Chalks.

I had a lot of fun w/ this card. I have had a TON of new goodies from AllThatScraps sitting here that I've barely had the chance to play w/ these past few weeks (yes some of it has been sitting for weeks *WAH*!!) so I tried to use as much stuff as possible ROFL!!

I actually don't own this cosmobella stamp from Stamping Bella (but I want it LOL!!) - a sweet person on SCS (thanks Wendy!!) sent me a few stamped images of it so that I could make a couple cards.

I masked off cosmobella's feet then stamped the a*muse small oval using ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink in rouge. I then colored her in using Pebbles Shimmer chalk (this stuff ROCKS!!! It's really smooth and really IS shimmery in real life - I'm going to have fun w/ this stuff! You can see the two sets here and here). I then doodled the frame using my SU! Black marker.

I used some Bazzil CS on this card too. I got some a while ago from ATS and have been wanting to try it out as I've never used Bazzil CS before - it has a neat texture to it and MAN there are a lot of colors to choose from!! The turquoise-colored CS on this card is the Bazzil - and it's from the Aqua Fourz collection.

I misted the Bazzil CS w/ water and ran it through my CuttleBug using this Ellison Design Circles Template. I got the Big Impressions Starter Kit (BISK) and 2 sets of the templates from ATS some time ago as they DO work in the CuttleBug (they were made for the Big Shot) and they have a Paisley template!!!! So of course I HAD to get it (and haven't yet had a chance to use it either - humph!!!).

Anywho - the little martini button in the bottom corner of the card was actually the inspiration for the whole card - it's made by Magic Scraps and comes in a set of four - you can see them here. I think they're so cute!

Celebrate_stamp_1 The sentiment was from this little martini stamp I got at Michaels in the $1 bin a looonnnggg time ago. I just inked up the word to use on the card.

Blue Baby Carriage

STAMPS: Baby Carriage, Sweet Script, and Baby Script by GinaK Designs. CS: Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Spring Flowers DS Paper (all SU!). INK: Palette Hybrid Noir (Stewart Superior), Blush Blossom, Bashful Blue, Basic Black, Sahara Sand, Whisper White Craft, Moonlight White Brilliance Ink (Tsukineko). ACCESSORIES: Marvy Giga Scalloped Square Punch, CuttleBug Heart Blocks A2 Embossing Folder, CuttleBug Tiny Tags Die, Lightweight Chipboard Coaster, Black Gingham Ribbon.

I really like how this card turned out! I stamped the Baby Carriage by GinaK on Whisper White CS, colored it in w/ markers, then cut it out and adhered it to the square of Sahara Sand CS (that I edged w/ the Moonlight White Ink). I then mounted that to a Scalloped Square, then again to a plain Black Square.

I used up another little piece of my Spring Flowers DS paper (that stuff just never seems to end!!) - woohoo!!

I ran the Bashful Blue CS through my CuttleBug using the Heart Blocks A2 embossing folder, then I rubbed on Moonlight White Brilliance Ink on it - in real life it now has a nice subtle shimmer - it looks so cool!!

I made the little tag using a lightweight chipboard coaster (from StarLitStudio) and my CuttleBug Tiny Tags die. I covered the tag w/ Whisper White Craft ink to make it *more white*, heat set it, then stamped the Sweet Script and Baby Script (I only inked up the words and not the "tails" of the stamps as the tag was too small). I attached the tag/slider w/ black gingham ribbon and that's it!!

(Not so) Splendiferous Day

(You can click on the pic to get a pop-up of a larger view)

STAMPS: Javabellas by Stamping Bella, sentiment and large oval by a*muse. CS: White, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Au Chocolat Designer Series Paper. INK: Palette Hybrid Noir, Pretty in Pink. ACCESSORIES: Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, Blending Stumps, Paper Piercer, Cutter Kit, Dimensionals, Jumbo Brads (Dollarama), Ribbon (Michaels), SU Small Corner Rounder Punch, SU Horizontal Slot Punch, Sponge Daubers, Ellison Big Impressions Starter Kit (BISK) and Circle Cyclone Texture Plate.

I HAD to make this card today - after the past couple of days I really needed some cheering up!! I have a HUGE To-Do list for this weekend, and in the process of trying to get everything done I discovered that there is something wrong w/ our water softener and it leaked into the closet that's in the corner of my studio (which is in our partially finished basement). What makes it even more frustrating is that I had *just* spent over 2 hours organizing the closet, and as I got to the stuff on the floor (nothing valuable thank goodness - mostly extra boxes and whatnot) I saw the mold and freaked out!!!

So we've had to tear out the carpet in the closet, toss the shelving unit that was in there, and are now in the process of ripping out parts of the walls to assess the damage and remove anything that is even *slightly* damp (and thankfully the damage isn't TOO bad). I was up till 3 am this morning trying to get things done and am SO tired...

I am now VERY behind on everything (those that have sent me e-mails in the past few days please understand that it's going to take me a while to answer them!!), and my studio is now a complete mess as everything is piled up all over the place!!

SO - back to this card. Like I said I HAD to make it. Now that I did and it turned out kinda cute I can move on to the much more pressing issues at hand (and yes I wonder at my priorities as well ROFL!!).

I used my new javabellas stamp from Stamping Bella - isn't it just adorable?? I stamped them in black, then stamped the a*muse large oval to ground them (and I didn't need to mask anything so it was quick and easy). I then colored them in using Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, and blending stumps.

The patterned paper is from Stampin' Up!s new Au Chocolat paper that's in the Spring Mini (this is ALL I've been able to do w/ me pre-order that showed up yesterday - WAH!!!). I ran it through my CuttleBug using the Big Impressions Starter Kit, and the Circle Cyclone Texture Plate. Now these give more of a textured look instead of the deeply embossed feel the CuttleBug folders make. I gotta say I like 'em!! (and I'll post in more detail hopefully later this coming week about these!). FYI I got them from All That Scraps - after searching everywhere for them (and for a place that would ship to Canada fora  decent price) I found them here and snapped them up!

The sentiment is also from a*muse, and after stamping it I made it into a ribbon slider by rounding the corners and punching holes in each end w/ the horizontal slot punch. I then slid it onto this FAB ribbon I picked up at Michaels last time I was there - I LOVE this ribbon!

The two jumbo brads I used I got at the Dollarama months ago - they match the chocolat paper perfectly!

This is a 5.25x5.25" square card.

I now have to run and go make lunch - have a great weekend everyone!!

Flowahbella in Green Galore

STAMPS: Flowahbella by Stamping Bella. CS: Whisper White, Green Galore, Almost Amethyst, Lovely Lilac, Watercolor Paper, Patterned Paper by Pixel Decor. INK: Black StazOn. ACCESSORIES: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, AquaPainter, Ribbon, Fiskars Small Scallop Scissors, CuttleBug Bloom Dots A2 Embossing Folder, Sanding Block, Bazzil White Brads.

This week's Ways To Use It Challenge  on SCS was to use GLORIOUS GREEN in a card - and here I was thinking "Oh that's easy!!" b/c for some reason I was thinking Green Galore - which is a color I really like!! AURGH!! So this card definitely doesn't fit the challenge. Oh well!!

The main image is another one of my new Bella stamps - flowahbella. I just *heart* all these bellas!! You can get them from stampingbella.com - the owner - Emily - is FABULOUS to deal with!

So I stamped the flowahbella onto watercolor paper using Black StazOn then watercolored her in w/ my Watercolor Wonder (SU!) Crayons and an AquaPainter. I then adhered that onto Almost Amethyst CS - cut around it w/ small Fiskars Scalloped Scissors, then adhered it again to Lovely Lilac CS.

For the BG I ran a piece of patterned Pixel Decor Paper through my CuttleBug using the Bloom Dots A2 embossing folder. I then rubbed a sanding block over it to expose the white (which was actually last week's Ways To Use It Challenge - sanding blocks - so at least I got something right LOL!).

Last But Not Least...

OK here's the last 3 things I want to share that I did for the SCS Feb VSN:

STAMPS: Sheep and Sentiment by GinaK Designs. CS: Whisper White, Brocade Blue, Apricot Appeal, Patterned Paper by Chatterbox. INK: Palette Hybrid Noir Ink, Basic Black Marker. ACCESSORIES: Grosgrain Ribbon, Marvy Mega and Giga Scalloped Circle Punches, SU! Word Window Punch, SU! Small oval Punch, Stampin' Pastels.

The challenge was to make a "shopping tote" like the one that was featured in the March 06 Papercrafts magazine. They are really easy to make - I have a tutorial in the works either for here or SCS (if they want it) if there's any interest in seeing one that is!!

I stamped the sheep from GinaK onto the Mega scalloped circle punch-out, then masked him, and created another reverse mask w/ the SU! small oval punch (I punched the oval out of a sticky note and used the note itself as the mask) - that's how I got the "ground" covered so neatly.

The sheep was also lightly colored w/ pastels (just using the applicators that come in the set), and I drew the little doodles around the circle w/ my Basic Black SU marker.

The sentiment was stamped, then trimmed and I used my Word Window Punch to round the ends.

STAMPS: Mousey Friends, J'adore and Mini Heart Cluster by GinaK Designs, Paisley BG by Cornish Heritage Farms - all available from stampingfreak.com. CS: Shimmer White, Creamy Caramel, Regal Rose, Going Gray, White. INK: Palette Hybrid Noir, Regal Rose, Going Gray, Creamy Caramel. ACCESSORIES: Lightweight Chipboard Coaster, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, 1/8" hand-held Hole Punch, Ribbon, CuttleBug Baby Face Alphabet die, CuttleBug Heart Blocks A2 embossing folder, Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils, Real Red Eyelets, Sponge Daubers, Blender Pen, Marvy Giga Scalloped Oval Punch.

I used a lot of "stuff" on this card LOL!! The challenge was to make a "faux button" using chipboard (which made me laugh b/c for ME I don't really EVER need to make a "faux" one w/ the Button stash I have *wink*)

So - for the button I used my CuttleBug Baby Face Alphabet die and a lightweight chipboard coaster (got the coaster from StarLitStudio). After I ran it through my CB I covered each piece w/ a different color of ink and embossed them w/ Iridescent Ice embossing powder. I then punched 2 holes in the heart and tied on a little sheer ribbon (got that at Michaels).

For the main image - I stamped the Mousey Friends and the Mini Heart Cluster onto a Giga Scalloped Oval punch-out of Shimmer White CS. I then lightly colored it all in w/ Prismacolor WATERCOLOR pencils and used a Blender Pen to watercolor them.

STAMPS: Leprechaun Hat and Feelin' Lucky? sentiment by GinaK Designs. CS: Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Going Gray, Old Olive. INK: Palette Hybrid Noir, Certainly Celery, Going Gray, Old Olive, VersaMark. ACCESSORIES: Ice Stickles (Lime Ice), Spring Green PearlEx, Marvy Giga Scalloped Oval Punch, Dimensionals, Sponge Daubers, Ribbon, Hairspray, Ticket Corner Punch, CuttleBug D'vine Swirl A2 embossing folder.

The challenge was to use glitter and PearlEx powder on the same card. So I used Ice Stickles (from StarLitStudio) on the hats, and for the BG I embossed it using my CB D'vine Swirl A2 embossing folder, the rubbed VersaMark on the embossed swirls and then covered it w/ Spring Green PearlEx powder. I then used hairspray to set it as the PE will rub off really easily when the VersaMark starts to dry.

For the main image I stamped then masked the hats, then repeatedly stamped the Feelin' Lucky? sentiment.

This is a 4.25 x 4.25" square card.

Some More VSN Creations

Here's a couple more cards I did for the SCS Feb VSN:

STAMPS: Roses in Winter. CS: Confetti White, Always Artichoke, Mellow Moss, Bravo Burgundy. INK: Always Artichoke, Mellow Moss, Bravo Burgundy. ACCESSORIES: Dimensionals, Cutter Kit, May Arts Ribbon.

The challenge was to use one of your favorite songs as the inspiration for your card. It took me a while - but I finally settled on 'Every Rose Has it's Thorn' by Poison (not totally original and pretty easy but oh well! LOL). I *heart* that song - and this card was really easy to do -definitely under 15 minutes!

The sentiment was stamped then I added some ribbon I got from StarLitStudio, and matted it onto CS that I distressed using the SU! cutter kit.

STAMPS: Weather or Not (retired), a*muse lowercase polka-dot clear alphabet, Karen Foster snap stamps. CS: Very Vanilla, Creamy Caramel, Bashful Blue. INK: ColorBox Fluid Chalk Cat's Eye ink pads in Alabaster, Creamy Brown, and Ice Blue. ACCESSORIES: Yarn, Cutter Kit, CuttleBug Snowflakes A2 Embossing Folder.

For this one the challenge was to use yarn or fibers on the card and bonus points if you used a mitten image. So I used the retired Weather or Not set, some yarn from the stash I have from the throw I'm crocheting for our living room (a work in progress that's for sure), and of course my new CuttleBug Snowflakes A2 embossing folder.

I used Colorbox Cat's Eye Fluid Chalk inks for the whole card - they look really nice in real life but it was really hard to get a decent picture of it!! I rubbed them onto the embossed snowflakes, and used them to get the multi-colored mittens - they are so small and easy to get different colors on one image w/ b/c of their shape.

I made the sentiment using the a*muse lowercase Polka-dot Alphabet for the 'cold' and my Karen Foster Snap Stamps (the smallest casual font set) for the rest.

You can see the first couple of cards I did for the VSN challenges here.

SO Exhausted....

So today was VSN over at Splitcoast - basically it's a 2-day extravaganza where challenges are posted every hour and you have 45 minutes to complete a card for each challenge!! I've *never* been able to participate before but today I thought I'd give it a shot! I ended up doing 7 of the challenges, and I *might* try to do another one or two tomorrow before the 3pm deadline (but I'm not getting my hopes up b/c I'm beat! LOL)

To give you a better idea of what participating in VSN is like - here's my desk after doing 3 (or was it 4?) challenges back-to-back (note my PINK IKEA office chair! LOL):

I finally HAD to clean up all this b/c I had no room left to shove things aside to be able to take pics, everything was falling on the floor, my stack of paper scraps was starting to teeter, I had no less than a half-dozen large punches sitting out, and I was starting to have REAL trouble finding any of my scissors (I have 4 pairs!).

FYI - for those that were wondering - the desk is from Office Depot - I got it on sale several months ago - and it's HUGE. One of these days I'll take better pics of everything (when it's all clean!!). :o)

But like I said tho - I had fun - so it was worth it!! It was SO enjoyable to sit and stamp for the heck of it - lately I've been making things b/c I HAVE to (Design Team work, workshop preps and displays, things for orders etc etc etc) and after a while that can be draining (at least for me it is).

So here's the first challenge card I made (the challenge was to use a charm on your project):

STAMPS: Petal Prints. CS: Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Cameo Coral. INK:  Certainly Celery, Cameo Coral, Creamy Caramel, Colorbox Cat's Eye Fluid Chalk ink pad in Alabaster. ACCESSORIES: Marvy Giga Scalloped Oval Punch, Sponge Daubers, Dimensionals, Ribbon, Charm (Decorative Details from nunndesign.com), jump ring (from Michaels), CuttleBug Stylized Flowers A2 Embossing Folder.

This was a really quick and easy card. I embossed the BG w/ this CuttleBug folder, then rubbed the Cat's Eye ink pad on it to make the embossing stand out a little more.

I attached the charm to the ribbon using a jump ring (from a pack I got at Michaels in the jewelery section a long time ago).

The second card I did:

STAMPS: Oh So Sweet (retired). CS: Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Close to Cocoa, Real Red. INK: Certainly Celery, Real Red, Chocolate Chip, White StazOn. ACCESSORIES: Sponge Daubers, Dimensionals, Ribbon (Michaels), Window Sheet, Bazzil Brads (color - Hershey).

I used markers to get the different colors on the strawberries, cut them out then adhered 2 of them to the Celery CS w/ glue and the third w/ a dimensional.

The sentiment was stamped onto a window sheet using White StazOn, then adhered to the card w/ the three Bazzil brads (I thought it quite fitting that the color of the brads was Hershey! LOL!)

OK that's it for tonight! I'm off to bed - night all...

Fishy In Love

STAMPS: Fishy Friends, Sentiment, and Mini Heart Cluster stamps by GinaK Designs (available at stampingfreak.com). CS: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Sahara Sand, Bashful Blue (all Stampin' Up!), patterned paper from around the block (called Head Over Heels). INK: Palette Hybrid Noir (Stewart Superior), Sahara Sand, Close to Cocoa, Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue, Pretty in Pink, Pixie Pink. ACCESSORIES: Small Corner Rounder Punch, Stipple Brushes, Dimensionals, Ribbon (Michaels), Word Window Punch, CuttleBug A2 embossing folder - Heart Blocks, Fiskars Scalloped Scissors.

I *heart* this Fishy Fiends stamp by GinaK - and the first thing I thought of when I got it was that the boy fishie looks like Tim ROFL!! (I know, I know...I'm a nut!!! But I can't help it, AND I plan on making Tim's Valentine's Day card using this stamp *wink*).

So for this card - I stamped the Fishy Friends, and then the heart cluster (which is a separate stamp - and it's so cute! Another one of my instant faves) above them. I colored them all in using my SU! markers, then masked them all (including he hearts) and sitppled Bashful Blue and Brocade Blue ink around them. I then rounded the corners using my SU! Small Corner Rounder Punch and mounted it onto Pretty in Pink CS.

This fun patterned paper is what inspired the rest of the card. I got it at my local scrapbook store some time ago - the company that makes it is called around the block (I'd never heard of them before but this paper caught my eye as it's so cute! And the other side is actually a really pretty patterned brown! The name of the paper is Head Over Heels #00299). I lightly sprayed the paper with water (to make it emboss easier w/out tearing) and ran it through my CuttleBug using the A2 Heart Blocks embossing folder.

Now I've been getting a TON of questions on HOW I'm getting the corners so rounded when I use my Fiskars Scalloped Scissors. Honestly - I'm just eyeballing it!! I don't have any special trick up my sleeve (otherwise I would have shared it!) - I just line up the scallops as best I can and more often than not I get the corners looking pretty good. My best tip is to just play around w/ the scissors and take your time - I found once I started doing that I got much more even corners and better cuts than before!

The sentiment for this card (also by GinaK) I stamped onto Pixie Pink CS, then cut into a small enough strip to fit through my Word Window punch so that I could round the corners.

Bellas and Babies

Yup, you guessed it - I got some more Bella stamps!! WooHoo!! I got nursabella, flowahbella, javabellas, stampingbella (of course!), and parisbella. I am having THE hardest time limiting myself - I want them all!!

I've been in a bit of a stamping funk for the past couple of days - I just haven't really "felt" it if you know what I mean. But after my envelope of Bellas arrived I thought it was high time to get back in the groove! And what better way to do that than to participate in this week's SCS Color Challenge.

Baby_stampSo I had my colors picked out, and saw all my Michaels $1 stamps sitting there (as I had yet to put them away - as usual!) after making those 2 quick cards - and this baby stamp caught my eye. Then the wheels *really* started turning - and this card was the end result!:

STAMPS: Nursabella by Stamping Bella, a*muse small oval, Baby sentiment by Kolette Hall (Michaels $1 stamp). CS: Whisper White, Not Quite Navy, Taken w/ Teal, Night of Navy. INK: Basic Black, Taken w/ Teal. ACCESSORIES: Prismacolors and Gamsol, SU Small Oval Punch, Navy Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals, CuttleBug A2 Baby Embossing Folder, Not Quite Navy Brads, Dimensionals.

I stamped the bella first, then masked her and stamped the sentiment and the a*muse small oval (I don't even bother putting that stamp away anymore - it just sits on my desk right in front of me). I used Prismacolors and Gamsol to color everything in, then doodled a border around it all w/ my SU! Basic Black marker.

I created the "tab" using my SU! small oval punch, the tied some Navy Organdy ribbon into a knot and adhering it w/ a mini glue dot.

The embossed BG was created using my CuttleBug A2 Baby embossing folder.

I think I got my groove back ROFL!!!

CuttleBug Folders

Just an FYI - AllThatScraps has received a BIG shipment of the A2 embossing folders - so now everything but the Friends Words folder is in stock!! The machine itself is also in stock.

I know a LOT of ppl have left comments and e-mailed me asking where to get them as a lot of places were sold out - so I'm guessing everyone is getting their shipments in!! Happy shopping! *wink*

Bee Mine!!!

Stamps: Honey Bee and sentiment by GinaK Designs. CS: Whisper White, Real Red, Spring Flowers DS Paper (all Stampin' Up!), black. INK: Palette Hybrid Noir (Stewart Superior), Summer Sun, Bashful Blue, Real Red, Basic Black (SU!). ACCESSORIES: Blender Pen, Marvy Giga Scalloped Square Punch, Dimensionals, Red Gingham Ribbon, Red Brads, Fiskars Scalloped Scissors, CuttleBug Tiny Tags die.

This card came together SO fast (I'm talking *maybe* 15 minutes??) - and I am SO happy with it!! This little Honey Bee stamp is adorable!

I stamped the Bee onto Whisper White CS, then colored him in using a Blender Pen and ink from a few ink pads (all SU!). I used a Basic Black marker for the stripes, and hand drew the little border around him before mounting the CS onto a Real Red scalloped square (that I got from my Marvy Giga Scalloped Square punch).

Did y'all notice I even used another piece of my Spring Flowers DS paper?? I'm pretty sure this was the biggest piece that's left - I'm *thisclose* to completely using up all that paper - FINALLY!!

I used my Fiskars Scalloped Scissors on the black CS, then after adhering the patterned paper to it I tied on some SU! Red Gingham ribbon. I added the tag (made w/ my CuttleBug Tiny Tags die) - that I stamped just the "Honey," on - using Real Red Brads, and adhered the  whole piece to the card - which on the inside has the rest of the Bee2sentiment:

This is a 4.25x4.25" square card. :o)

CuttleBug Stuff

Just to let all those know who've asked - I get my CuttleBug stuff from AllThatScraps - they carry ALL the embossing folders, dies, alphabets, the machine etc etc etc. As of right now they're sold out of a bunch of the folders and the machine BUT the home page says they will be in stock TOMORROW!!

I highly recommend ATS - I've ordered a few times now and recieved the BEST (and FAST!) service - I am a very happy customer!!

And thanx to you all for your support!! I had a laugh over a couple of the comments (yup it's true I'm not chained to my computer - tho some days it feels like I AM!! and no I don't make money doing this - tho my mom says if I could only get a dollar for each hit......... I wish!!!! ROFL!!)

Give Thanks

STAMPS: Happy Harmony, Print Pattern. CS: Whisper White, Brocade Blue, Night of Navy, Bravo Burgundy. INK: Brocade Blue, Night of Navy, Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke. ACCESSORIES: Marvy Giga Scalloped Square Punch, Sponge Daubers, Paper Piercer, Small Square Punches, Dimensionals, CuttleBug 2x2 die - Sliders, CuttleBug A2 Embossing Folder - Textile Texture, Ribbon.

I made this card for this week's SCS Color (that the oh-so-wonderful Bethie thought up - b/c she ROCKS!!!! *wink*) and Ways to Use It (BG's) Challenges.

I used markers on the flowers, then repeatedly stamped them on the punched out scalloped square. I made the photo corners using SU!'s 2 smallest square punches.

For the slider - I ran a piece of Whisper White CS that I had glued to a piece of lightweight chipboard through my CuttleBug using one of the Sliders (2x2) dies. I then stamped it and attached it to the card using SU! White Grosgrain and May Arts Organdy (from StarLitStudio).

I used my CuttleBug A2 Textile Texture embossing folder on the Brocade Blue CS and sponged the edges.

On another note - I have been getting a LOT of questions and requests on exactly *how* I take pictures of my cards. I don't have enough time to be answering each person individually (I tried that and I can't get replies out fast enough) so I'll post on here one of these days (with pictures) what I do and how I do it - don't expect anything fabulous - I have a very simple set up!!! I'll try to get that done and up on here w/ in a week or so.

ALSO - I just wanted to make a note to all those that have sent me e-mails, PMs, and comments on here. I've received a few (half a dozen or so) messages from ppl that are quite upset w/ me for not replying to them in a "timely" manner (as in I'm not replying w/in 24 hours).

I have to honestly say that there is almost NO way that I can get replies out this fast. I TRY and sometimes I do - but not to everyone. If you don't get a reply from me w/ in a WEEK - then *please* just send me another e-mail to remind me b/c there's a really good chance I missed it!!

ALSO - if you have a question that you want answered - send me an e-mail (vs a PM on SCS or a comment on here). I'm more likely to respond to an e-mail as it's a lot more difficult (for me) to keep track of all the comments on here and all my messages on SCS.

I DO read every comment left on here (and enjoy them!! So don't stop! *wink*) but I just don't have the time to personally answer every single one - at times I try to answer them in a post on here for everyone to read (especially when it's something that several ppl want to know or it's something I didn't explain clearly enough).

That said - I LOVE receiving feedback - whichever the form it takes (comments on here, PMs, e-mails whatever!!) and getting questions from ppl. It just hurts when I get blasted for being "insensitive" b/c it takes me a while to get a reply out.

Have a great day everyone!!! :o)

Birthday Bella

STAMPS: cakeabella by Stamping Bella, small oval by a*muse. CS: Whisper White, Pink Passion, Lavender Lace, Gable Green. INK: Basic Black, Gable Green, Bashful Blue. ACCESSORIES: CuttleBug Happy Birthday A2 Embossing Folder, Marvy Giga Scalloped Square Punch, Sheer ribbon, Prismacolors and Gamsol, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Dimensionals, Stipple Brush, Ticket Corner Punch.

It's *really* late here but I wanted to get this uploaded before I go to bed!

One of this week's SCS Technique Challenges (I say ONE b/c this week there's actually 5 different technique challenges - FUN!!) was to do a card that is color blocked. As soon as I saw that I got this idea in my head - and this was it!!

I ran 2 different colors of CS through my CuttleBug using the Happy Birthday A2 folder (that I *just* got in the mail yesterday from AllThatScraps - WooHoo!) - Pink Passion and Gable Green (I decided to do the Color Challenge from a couple of weeks ago that I missed while I was at it!), then cut them up and matted them w/ Whisper White CS.

To make it a hat trick I thought I'd do an old Sketch Challenge from a few weeks ago while I was at it!

I stamped this cakeabella image (from Stamping Bella) onto Whisper White CS, masked her then stamped the a*muse small oval to "ground" the image, and then *lightly* stippled on a little Bashful Blue ink. I then colored in the image w/ Prismacolors and Gamsol, and added some "bling" w/ a little Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds glitter (really hard to see in the pic but it's there!!).

I then used my Marvy Giga Scalloped Square punch to mat it (using 2 punched out squares to make a rectangle - something I learned from the oh-so-wonderful Debbie Olson!!! - you just need to trim it a tiny bit once you layer the squares - SO easy!)

I added some ribbon I got from Jacksonbelle Embellishments, and adhered the main image w/ dimensionals and that's it!!

Aren't the bella stamps so fun?? The one thing I really love is the hair - especially on this stamp - I kinda wish I had hair like that ROFL!!!

**MAJOR** Enabler Alert

So of course y'all know that I LOOOOOVVVEEEE my CuttleBug. WELL - for those that don't have the Bug but would really like to try out the fab CB embossing folders - check this out!!!:

Using a Rolling Pin w/ CuttleBug Embossing Folders

How cool is that?? If I didn't have the Bug already I would actually attempt to *find* my rolling pin (I'm guessing it's in the back of a drawer somewhere in my kitchen??? *wink*) and try this out!!

So now there is NO excuse for not jumping on the bandwagon - those folders are CHEAP and now you can use them as long as you've got a rolling pin handy!!

Shopping_2 Happy Shopping everyone!!!

Pot O' Clovers

STAMPS: Pot O' Clovers and sentiment by GinaK Designs, Paisley BG by SonLight Impressions. CS: Watercolor Paper, Close to Cocoa, Old Olive, Whisper White, More Mustard. INK: Palette Hybrid Noir (Stewart Superior), Old Olive, Mellow Moss, ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink in Olive Pastel, More Mustard. ACCESSORIES: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, AquaPainter, Paper Piercer, Piercing Template, Ribbon (Michaels), CuttleBug A2 Embossing Folder - D'vine Swirl, Sponge Dauber, Cutter Kit (SU!).

Another first for me - I've never made a St. Patrick's Day card before!! I just got some new stamps from Gina and this little Pot O' Clovers stamp jumped out at me and I HAD to use it!!

I stamped the pot onto watercolor paper (using Palette Hybrid Noir Ink), then watercolored it in using SU!'s Watercolor Wonder Crayons and an AquaPainter. I then used a drop of Old Olive ink and the AP to darken areas of the clovers. To complete the main image I matted it twice (on Close to Cocoa, then Old Olive), distressed the Old Olive CS (using the Cutter Kit from SU!), then added a few holes w/ my paper piercer.

To make the BG I stamped the Paisley BG onto Whisper White CS using Mellow Moss ink THEN ran it through my CuttleBug using the D'vine Swirl A2 embossing folder. After I pulled it out I rubbed some Olive Pastel ink onto it (I really love the cat's eye ink pads for this - their small size and foam pads make it easy to rub the ink onto the raised surfaces).

The sentiment was stamped onto a separate scrap of white CS, trimmed down then sponged w/ More Mustard ink.

To finish the card I added some brown stitched ribbon and mounted the main image onto the card using dimensionals.

Caribbean Harmony

STAMPS: Happy Harmony. CS: Whisper White, Cool Caribbean, Basic Black, Lightweight Chipboard. INK: Cool Caribbean, Basic Black. ACCESSORIES: Marvy Giga Scalloped Oval Punch, Dimensionals, Blender Pens, Sponge Daubers, D'vine Swirl CuttleBug A2 embossing folder, Tiny Tags CB 2x2 dies, Circle punch, narrow white organdy and white grosgrain ribbon.

This Cool Caribbean CS was like the first thing I ran through my CuttleBug when I first got it!! I used it for this card and ended up going w/ one of the SCS Color Challenges from a couple of weeks ago.

I kept the rest of the card rather simple. I used a Basic Black marker and Cool Caribbean ink and a blender pen (you can see how to do that here) to ink up the stamp, then after stamping it I added a few doodles w/ the Black marker (a LOT of ppl ask me what it is I use when I doodle things on my cards - well that's it! Just my SU! Basic Black marker. It works for me - I think eventually tho I'll get a couple of black artist markers, not sure which kind as of yet.)

For the sentiment - I stamped it then punched it out w/ one of my EK Success punches (I *think* I used the 7/8" one but it could have been the 1" circle - I can't remember!!) and then sponged the edges. I then glued that onto a tag I made w/ the CuttleBug Tiny Tags dies (I used a lightweight chipboard coaster from StarLitStudio for the tag and covered it in Basic Black Craft Ink then heat to set.).

I love this SAB set - it's definitely my favorite out of all the SAB selections this year!! :o)

Luv my Bug...

I do - I really do *grin*.

I quickly sat down today to make a card for this week's SCS Sketch Challenge. I got it done and wanted to post it ASAP as I need to get back to cleaning up the house b/c we have a bunch of ppl coming over tonight!

So here it is:

STAMPS: shopabellas by Stamping Bella, large oval by a*muse. CS: Whisper White, Cool Caribbean, Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Patterned Paper by Reminiscence. INK: Palette Hybrid Noir (Stewart Superior), Certainly Celery. ACCESSORIES: CuttleBug A2 Friends Words embossing folder, Prima Flowers, Bazzil Brads, Ribbon (Michaels), Prismacolor Pencils.

These bella stamps from Stamping Bella are just too fun. I *think* that this shopabellas one comes in a larger size too!! I stamped it then masked the images and stamped the a*muse large oval stamp to ground them (you can learn how to make a mask here). I then colored them in w/ Prismacolor pencils (and NO Gamsol *shock*!! I didn't have time to do all the blending and whatnot and w/ these small images time is a must.)

The rest of the card was pretty simple - just a matter of following the sketch challenge. All the colors were inspired by this fun patterned paper that I picked up at my local scrapbook store a couple of weeks ago (it's from a company called Reminiscence?? I'd never heard of it before but the paper sure is cute!).

I used my CuttleBug A2 embossing folder - Friends Words - for this card - it seemed to suit this stamp to a T!!

Now I have to run and go mop some floors - joy. *wink*

Messin' Around

Last night I just played around w/ all the stuff that was sitting on my desk (trying to use it up instead of having to put it all away!! *wink*). Here's one card I came up with:

STAMPS: Cakeabella (stampingbella.com), small oval and sentiment from a*muse, Dotted BG from Stampin' Up!. CS: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Lavender Lace, Close to Cocoa, So Saffron, Spring Flowers DS Paper. INK: Basic Black, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Sahara Sand. ACCESSORIES: Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol, Cutter Kit, Prima Flowers, Jumbo Brads, Light Orchid Ribbon, Word Window Punch, Sponge Daubers, Stipple Brushes.

I love this cakeabella stamp from StampingBella - her hair is what gets me!! I just kept messing around w/ the image after I stamped and colored it. I masked it then stamped the oval and stippled the ink (So Saffron and Chocolate Chip) around it then doodled a border around the edges.

I used up another piece of my Spring Flowers paper too! That stuff just doesn't seem to end! I pulled out a few Prima flowers from my stash and adhered them to the card w/ Jumbo brads that I picked up at the Dollarama quite some time ago.

The way I used the Word Window punch for the sentiment and ribbon was an idea I got from StamperSharon - I just love her work!!

STAMPS: Michaels $1 Valentine stamps. CS: Whisper White, Real Red, Black. INK: Basic Black, Colorbox Fluid Chalk ink in Warm Red. ACCESSORIES: Coluzzle, Marvy Giga Scalloped Oval Punch, Paper Piercer, White Gel Pen, Ribbon (Michaels), CuttleBug A2 embossing folder - Heart Blocks, CB 2x2 die - Tiny Tags, dimensionals, Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol, jump ring.

I hand drew the stems on the flowers and doodled a border on it too. The tag was made using one of the "Tiny Tag" CuttleBug dies - I ran through a piece of chipboard and then a piece of white CS to adhere over it. I LOVE these little dies!! I don't have to trace out the patterned paper or CS to cover the chipboard - I just run it all through the CB then glued it on (and I suppose I could glue it on *first* then run it through - but I'm still playing around with it!).

For the Heart BG - I ran through a piece of Whisper White CS w/ the Heart Blocks folder, then used a Warm Red Colorbox Fluid Chalk Cat's Eye ink pad to color it. I just swirled it around on the CS and on the edges as well. It turned out kinda cool!

New Michaels Stamps!!!

So I heard on SCS that Michaels came out w/ a TON of new Valentine $1 stamps (of course $1.50 in Canada). A picture was posted of them too and they are SO cute!! I posted that I prolly won't be able to get my hands on them b/c Michaels is over an hour away from me and I don't get to the city very often. ETA - here's a link to the thread - Michaels Valentine Stamps - the picture of them all is in post #11.

WELL....a SUPER cool, awesome, wonderful person (HUGS to Kelly!!!!!) offered to go to her local Mikes (she lives on the same street!!! How fab is that??) and see if she could get them for me and then just mail them to me!!

Of course I said yes - and she was able to get me ALL the new stamps (I guess there's 17 sets - they're the little ones again so they are packs of 2, so really 34 stamps!) and I just sent her the $$ for them. I was SO pleased to be able to get them all b/c knowing my luck if I WAS able to get to Mike's they would have been sold out or really picked over.

Love_stamps Well the parcel arrived yesterday and not only did she send the stamps - but she got me a couple of those CUTE little tin mailboxes from the Target Dollar Spot!! WooHoo!!!

I've been SO envious of all the ppl that have been getting those mailboxes - we don't have a Target in Canada so I knew I'd never get my hands on them - but now I have two!! :o) And she sent me this adorable little love note too - this totally made my day! THANK YOU Kelly!!

So....LATE last night I sat at my desk and fiddled around w/ my new stamps and my CuttleBug (of course). I was running through scraps of CS and the embossing folders (isn't that the funnest?? LOL soon I'm prolly gonna have a foot-high pile of embossed CS!!!) and then used another one of my 2x2 dies - this time the scalloped squares one:

STAMPS: Michaels $ Valentine stamps. CS: Whisper White, Mellow Moss, Basic Black, Pretty in Pink, Real Red. INK: Palette Hybrid Noir (Stewart Superior), Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Mellow Moss Markers. ACCESSORIES: CuttleBug A2 Embossing folders - D'Vine Swirls, Heart Blocks, CB 2x2 Dies - Scalloped Squares, Tiny Tags, Dimensionals, Pink Fibers (no source), Bella Fibers (SU!), Ticket Corner Punch, Jump Ring, Red Rhinestones by Bohemia.

This card measures 3.5 x 5.5".

So Kelly keep an eye on your mailbox b/c this card will be heading there soon! *wink*

3 More!!! (so part 4)

I'm getting closer to using up all the paper from the Spring Flowers Designer SeriesĀ® paper pack!

You can read all my other posts on my new "resolution" here:

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

And the chipboard coaster box that started it all.

STAMPS: Barn and sentiment by GinaK Designs. CS: Whisper White, Always Artichoke, So Saffron, Sahara Sand, Spring Flowers DS paper (all Stampin' Up!). INK: Palette Hybrid Noir (Stewart Superior), So Saffron, Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke (Stampin' Write Markers). ACCESSORIES: Sahara Sand Eyelets, Chocolate Grosgrain Ribbon, Jute, Dimensionals, Color Spritzer.

I LOVE this barn stamp and sentiment by GinaK - I had to get them to go w/ all my little farm animal stamps. I thought that these would also go perfectly w/ this particular patterned paper from the Spring Flowers pack as they are a lot more masculine looking than all the other patterns.

The jute I got at a Liquidation store a looonnngggg time ago - when I saw it I *knew* it would be perfect to put on guy cards (and a big roll of it was like 80 cents so like I could resist! *wink*)

I used the Color Spritzer (w/ the Sahara Sand marker) on the main image and the sentiment just to "dirty it up" a tiny little bit. You can see how to use the color spritzer here.

STAMPS: Baby Carriage and Baby Script by GinaK Designs. CS: Whisper White, Cameo Coral, Spring Flowers DS Paper (all Stampin' Up!). INK: Palette Hybrid Noir (Stewart Superior), Whisper White and Cameo Coral Craft (SU!). ACCESSORIES: Marvy Mega Circle and Giga Scalloped Circle Punches, Stampin' Pastels, Paper Piercer, White Gel Pen, Dimensionals, Ribbon (Michaels), Jump Ring, White Brads (Bazzil), Ticket Corner Punch, CuttleBug Heart Blocks embossing folder, CB Tiny Tags die cut, sponges, lightweight chipboard coasters.

This was the FIRST thing I made w/ my new CuttleBug!! *happy dance*. I ran the patterned paper through w/ the Heart Blocks A2 embossing folder, then sponged on Whisper White and Cameo Coral Craft Ink. I wasn't in the mood to make a Valentine card so I made a baby card instead using GinaK's Baby Carriage and Baby Script stamps.

I used Stampin' Pastels and the small applicators to color in the main image, then punched it out w/ my Marvy Mega Circle Punch and *very* lightly sponged the edges w/ the Cameo Coral Ink. All the Cameo Coral CS was sponged w/ White Craft ink to lighten it up to better match the paper.

I even got adventurous w/ my new 'Bug and tried cutting chipboard w/ the Tiny Tags 2x2 die. I used a *lightweight* chipboard coaster (I get mine from StarLitStudio - she sells them in packs of 20) - and the cool thing is is that you can run through ALL 4 2x2 dies w/ one coaster since the coaster is 4x4" (y'all prolly already know that but I was pretty excited when I made that little discovery! *wink*) - so of course I now have a little pile of chipboard tags!!

Anywho - I covered the tag w/ White Craft ink, heat set it then stamped the Baby Script stamp onto it. I attached it to the card w/ a jump ring and a little ribbon and put a dimensional to keep it in place.

STAMPS: Sheep and Sentiment by GinaK Designs, Weave BG by SonLight Impressions (all available from stampingfreak.com). CS: Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Whisper White, Spring Flowers DS Paper (all Stampin' Up!). INK: Palette Hybrid Noir (Stewart Superior), Bashful Blue, Whisper White (SU!). ACCESSORIES: Liquid Applique, Prismacolor Pencil and Gamsol, White Gel Pen, Marvy Giga Scallop Square Punch, MM Cheeky Clip, Light Blue Gingham ribbon (SU!), brown ribbon (Michaels), dimensionals, Word Window Punch, So Saffron Brads!

I had SO much fun making this card!! I was just playing around w/ some of the patterned paper scraps and just messing around really and this was the result!! AND I was finally able to use a cheeky clip!! I got a jar of them in all different colors (they're made by Making Memories) some time ago and I've had the *hardest* time incorporating them into a card (or anything for that matter) - but this time it worked!! *grin*

I stamped the sheep from GinaK onto Bashful Blue CS then filled him in w/ Liquid Applique (SU used to carry it, I know TAC carries it, and a lot of craft stores should too) and heated it w/ my heat tool to make him "fluffy". I used a white gel pen for the ear and a Prismacolor Pencil and Gamsol for his face.

I sponged the edges of the scalloped square w/ White craft ink, put on the clip w/ a little bit of ribbon and adhered it to the patterned paper using dimensionals.

The card base is stamped w/ the Weave BG from SonLight Impressions (aka Cornish Heritage Farms) and I sponged the edges w/ Whisper White Craft Ink.

For the sentiment I stamped it then cut the CS so that it was thin enough to go through the Word Window punch, then used the punch to round the ends. I then stuck that to the card using 2 So Saffron brads.

Whew!! This took a LOT longer than I thought to type up and whatnot!! I hope y'all enjoyed it!! :o)

It's HERE!!!!

It's here it's here it's HERE!!!!! My CuttleBug from allthatscraps showed up at lunchtime yesterday!!!! *bouncin'*Wootsmiley

I almost tackled Tim when he came in the house w/ the parcel - but didn't b/c I didn't want to harm my precious CB *wink*

I've pulled it out of the box (and given it several hugs LOL) and played w/ it a bit. It was pretty easy to get the hang of ASAP - and remember I've NEVER used a die-cutting machine before and haven't even seen HOW to use one!!

I need to find a spot on my desk to put it - it doesn't take up much room but when you fold down the platform you need space to be able to do that and put the plates and whatnot through.

I'm still SO excited about this - remember in the old Home Alone movie where Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) discovered he made his family "disappear" and was going nuts w/ excitement (LOL we watched that movie on TV over the holidays - I remember watching that YEARS ago and loved it - it's such a cute movie! Thus the analogy.)?? Well that was me yesterday! *wink*Blissysmile_2

So hopefully I'll have some fun CB things to share w/ y'all later in the week!!!

For those wondering how long it took for my CB to get here - I ordered it on the 26th of December, it shipped on the 28th (they shipped it via USPS airmail), and it arrived on the 9th!! So VERY fast (about 7 business days?) considering the New Years holiday was in between that. :o)

A Sure Fire Way

to get myself out of a funk - is to remind self that I have a CuttleBug on the way here!!!!!!! *happy dance*Hapydancsmil

Yesterday was an odd day - I was not feeling well and had so much housecleaning to do (I *did* get almost all the decorations off my tree too - it was so sad b/c Veronica stood there the whole time and was so upset that there was no more Christmas!! It's hard for a not-quite-4-year-old to understand that it WILL come back just not for a loooonnngggg time!!) and I just felt cruddy.

THEN I reminded myself that a VERY important package is on it's way hereYesssmileyf !!! I've been saving all my spare change for a couple of months now and set aside all the $$ I made selling Christmas cards to be able to get a CuttleBug!! I ordered mine from allthatscraps.com along w/ a few of the A2 embossing folders and one of the 2x2" dies.

Their service there is FABULOUS!! Since I live over an hour away from the nearest Michaels (and can only use one 40% off coupon at a time and usually have to argue w/ the salespeople to do so) it was so so SO much easier to just order it online. They also have a "Bug Bucks" program (I luv the name! lol) where you get $1 in Bug Bucks for every $10 you spend on CB products (which I plan to use when I get some more of their embossing folders! They're sold out of a couple but I was told they're getting a shipment in on Monday - so you know what I'll be doing on Monday!!).

Anywho I just had to share such exciting news w/ y'all *wink* in hopes that you can understand.

OK Anne had a question about what the difference is between the CB and the Sizzix.

Well I personally can't say as I've never owned a die-cutting machine before (let alone seen one in action - I know I know I'm WAY behind the times!!) however there is this thread going on at SCS that has TONS (and I do mean TONS - theres over 50 pages now!!!) of info. I waded through most of it before I ordered my Bug and learned all kinds of cool stuff.

Here's the thread:

Cuttlebug/Cuttlebug-itis- *MERGED*

I hope this helps!! :o)
