Honey Bee Stamps Birthday Bash Blog Hop

Hello everyone! I'm so excited to be participating in a blog hop celebrating Honey Bee Stamps 2nd Birthday! If you didn't start at the beginning of the hop I'll have links to everything further down in the post, as well as giveaway info at the end!

I HAD to use the new Blah Bunny stamp set to create a couple cards - this is so me LOL:

These are 4-Bar Size (4 7/8 x 3 1/2")

I stamped the bunnies and accessories onto Neenah Solar White 80lb card stock with SSS Intense Black ink and coloured them all in with Copics.

The sentiments are from the new Honey Bee Blah Blah Blah set - another insane favourite for me. I stamped the sentiments onto the white card stock with the same black ink, then stamped the small sentiments with a light grey ink.

I used the companion Blah Bunny dies to create the mat the bunnies are laying on by die cutting the purple plaid and Blu Raspberry card stock. I adhered them together and adhered the bunny on top before adding it to my cards.

I finished off the insides of the cards with more sentiments from the Blah Blah Blah set, and added the same little accessory images I used on the front of each card and that was it!

Lawn Fawn How You Bean? Shaker Card | Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hello everyone! I decided to hop along for the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, which you can check out HERE <------click! if you'd like to play along or just check out all the other fabulous entries!

AND while I was at it I decided to make my card with Lawn Fawn goodies b/c 1 - I ordered a TON of it recently (understatement LOL) and 2 - they now have an official Lawn Fawnatics blog <-----click! that will have challenges and whatnot.

So here's what I made:

I decided to use the new How You Bean? stamp set and coordinating die sets along with my old favourite Love You a Latte stamp set and dies. The idea popped in my head to make a shaker jar with coffee beans in it, and then I pulled out the LF Perfectly Plaid Fall 6x6 papers and the card just came together.

The images were stamped onto Bristol smooth card stock with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink then coloured in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a water brush.

To make the coffee bean shaker I head embossed the little coffee bean stamp from the Love You a Latte set onto brown card stock with clear embossing powder then die cut them with the coordinating die. For a little added shaker goodness I added some Pretty Pink Posh Espresso 4mm sequins (meant to be! lol).

I finished off the inside of the card with a Happy Birthday sentiment (from the How You Bean? set) and a couple more to-go cups and that was it!

SSS Funny Food | New Beginnings Blog Hop | Clean Color Real Brush Markers

I decided to use the new Funny Food stamp set and coordinating dies because they made me giggle the first time I saw them. Then when I got to thinking what to create I knew I HAD to combine the donut from Funny Food with the To-go Cup from SSS's Coffee and Tea set:

I stamped these characters onto Canson XL watercolour paper with Versafine Onyx Black ink then watercolored them in with my Clean Color Real Brush markers and a water brush.

The sentiment is from the new Funny Food set and I show in the video how I cut it apart so that I can stamp them separately. The Donut Worry I stamped in black by the images and the Be Happy was stamped with SSS Clear Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder on the black card stock.

I created the "sprinkles" on the donut by drawing them in with a white gel pen then colouring over them with a couple different Copic markers (BG05, RV17 and RV02). If I had some fun colors of gel pens on hand those would have worked perfectly as well!

The donut patterned paper is from the Doodlebug Cream & Sugar 6x6 pack (linked below with the supplies!) that I just adore.

I finished off the inside of the card with a sentiment from the Coffee and Tea set and added another stamped and coloured donut from the new Funny Food set and that was it!

SSS Coffee And Tea | AmyR Coffee Card Series #8 | GIVEAWAY!

Hey everyone! I'm actually on time for a Color Throwdown Challenge! It's practically a miracle LOL!

Here's what I made:

This is a 4.25" square card.

I HAD to use the SSS Coffee And Tea stamp set again, along with the Doodlebug Latte Love Shape Sprinkles - are they not the cutest things ever?? <3 <3 <3 LOL!

Other than a tiny bit of Copic colouring on the back of the embossed hearts on the vellum there was no colouring on this card - so it came together REALLY quickly. I think heat embossing the sentiment and hearts took the longest and even that was pretty quick!

I finished off the inside with a sentiment from the same Coffee And Tea set along with a few more of the Shape Sprinkles because they went perfectly with the sentiment LOL and that was it!

SSS Miss You Card | Clean Color Real Brush Markers | AmyR 2017 Valentine Card Series #6

Hey everyone! So like I mention in the video, literally between the time I filmed and uploaded my unboxing video of the Feb 2017 SSS card kit and creating this card the kit sold out!! I can't say I was surprised b/c this kit is fabulous. Thankfully everything is available separately so I've linked to it all at the end of this post as usual!

Of course I HAD to use the to-go cup from the Tea & Coffee set first, and I stamped it randomly onto some Strathmore Ready Cut Watercolor paper with SSS Clear Ink and heat embossed all the images with detail white embossing powder.

I then used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to watercolour in all the images (Light Gray, Beige, Peach Pink, Light Blue and Pink), splattered it with water then splattered it with Copic Opaque White (white acrylic paint of goauche will work too - I just really like the consistency and "whiteness" of the Copic Opaque white LOL).

I used the new Miss You wafer die to create my sentiment and sponged it with Brushed Corduroy and Vintage Photo Distress inks before stacking it with 2 more die cut sentiments to give it more dimension.

I finished off the inside of the card with another stamped and watercolored to-go cup and a sentiment and stamped heart from the Coffee & Tea set and that was it!

Hero Arts Coffee Cup Tags | AmyR 2016 Christmas Card Series #14

Create a Smile Coffee First | AmyR Coffee Card Series #7

Hello everyone! I FINALLY got a chance to participate in one of the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hops - these hops are HUGE and have a ton of sponsors and people participating in them!

So here's the card I made:

I had to pull out the Echo Park Fall Is In the Air 6x6 pack again - I am REALLY feeling all things fall (I even went way out of my way today to redeem my star reward and get a free Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks (so that cancelled the "going out of my way" part right?) which I THOROUGHLY enjoyed) and want to make all the fall-themed cards possible lately. Combining fall colours and coffee-themed anything just makes me happy :).

I combined said papers with the Create A Smile Coffee First stamp set - such a cute set and I adore the font of the word coffee. Embossing it with gold embossing powder made it even more fabulous IMO.

I used Copics to color in the mugs and did a bunch of paper piecing on them which I haven't done in forever. Paper piecing used to really be my "thing" back in the day. Now that I did it here who knows maybe y'all will see it more frequently from me again! ;)

I LOVE that little chipboard embellishment - I think I said it was wood in the video - but it's not. It's chipboard that LOOKS like wood - and is insanely light-weight. Their little embellishments are SO cool. I've been hoarding this little pack for months now.

AmyR Coffee Card Series #6 + YouTube 40K GIVEAWAY!!

Hey everyone! So I've been well aware that I passed 40 thousand subscribers on my YouTube channel recently (crazy isn't it?) and felt the need to mark this milestone - so stay tuned to the end of this post for a giveaway!

I have had the Lawn Fawn Love You a Latte stamp set sitting on my desk for a few days now along with their Donut Worry set as I've been itching to make a card using both sets. Well today I finally got a chance to do that and this was what I came up with:

This was another one of those times where I had a vague idea in my head of what I wanted to create then it took on a life of it's own!

I pulled out my Mijello Mission Gold watercolours the other night and made some cards with it (which I'll be sharing soon - they might or might not be along the Halloween-theme of things.......*wink*) and as is usual with me I'm back on a "kick" with them and want to use them on everything LOL. So they were sitting front and centre when I started making this card and decided to just go with it and watercolour everything. 

I created a more "vintage" or muted look for the background - I didn't want that to compete with the main images - plus I was trying to see how well I could pull of a more greyscale or monochromatic look.

I heat ambushed the sentiment on the inside of the card just so I could use the WOW Metallic Gold Rich Pale embossing powder again - seriously a gorgeous EP in real life! And of course I had to turn my main images into characters with the little faces LF includes in so many of their sets - I just love that about them.

Penny Black Saying a Latte! | Polychromos Pencils | AmyR Coffee Card Series #5

Hello folks!

After the kids were in bed last night I spent some time colouring with my Polychromos pencils - I did a First Impressions/unboxing video of them here and then made a card with them here.

This time I wanted to try them out on Bristol Smooth card stock - and while I think the colors would blend amazingly on it with some artist grade mineral spirits (Gamsol), I decided to just color with them as-is and let the texture show:

It's been a while since I posted anything coffee-themed - don't worry I didn't forget about the series. My hope is to start doing more coffee-themed cards on a semi-regular basis!

This time I used the Penny Black Saying a Latte! stamp set - I stamped the image with SSS Intense Black ink onto the Bristol Smooth card stock then coloured it in with my Polychromos.

I stamped and embossed the sentiment on vellum, and added some Doodlebug Sprinkles enamel dots to finish it off.

I kept the inside uber-simple and stamped the remaining sentiment on the inside with grey ink and that was it!

Tim Holtz Fresh Brewed Blueprints | Mission Gold Watercolor | AmyR Coffee Card Series #4

Hello all! I've been cranking out the videos like crazy this week (what can I say - when the inspiration strikes and I'm up late at night I tend to get a lot more done) - and I have another one for y'all.

This week's Color Throwdown challenge was fabulous:

I love that mug! It is so beyond gorgeous. You can find it HERE <----click!

Anywho - I took the inspiration literally again and made a coffee-theme card for my coffee card series (links to the other ones thus far are at the end of the post):

I am still playing with my Mission Gold watercolours and did some experimenting on this card - I explain in the video that I wanted it to look like the color was thrown at it - in somewhat organized chaos (like my life.....LOL!).

I cannot tell y'all how much I LOVE the SSS Antique Gold embossing powder (though if memory serves me right I gushed about it the last time I'd used it). It is THE prettiest shade of gold - more of a "neutral" gold if there is such a thing - not yellow or pink.

I heat embossed the image with that embossing powder then "slapped" all the watercolour on to it. Again if you missed my unboxing/review of the Mission Gold watercolour you can see that HERE. I am really loving them.

SSS Choose Happy | Rainbow Coffee Card | AmyR Coffee Card Series #3

Hello hello everyone! I hope y'all are having a good week so far! I had a chance to get crafty again and made 2 cards using the new SSS Choose Happy stamp set (which I LOVE for so many reasons):

Crazy to think both these cards were made with one small stamp and a sentiment stamp! Also crazy to think this is the first time in a LONG time that I've pulled out and used my Memento inks (I've had 'em for years and years) - I forgot how much fun they were to use (and how great the colors are).

Funny story - a couple of months ago I found a black t-shirt that had this exact same sentiment on it. I would have bought it (and wore it all the time) if it hadn't been designed either for children or really small humans :P. Needless to say when this stamp set came out I was SUPER happy LOL! Next best thing to wearing it is making cards with it!

I stamped 2 different patterns in rainbow order using the little coffee mug stamp and the Memento inks - it was so quick and fun.

Mama Elephant Cup of Wishes | Dye Ink Watercolor | AmyR Coffee Card Series #2

It's time for another Color Throwdown challenge!

Since I'm all about multitasking (that's my mantra - I feel more accomplished if I can accomplish 3 (or more) things at once LOL) I included this card and video with my new Coffee Card Series....even tho it's a tea cup.....so yeah.....whatever!

I used the new-to-me Mama Elephant Cup of Wishes stamp set, and since I didn't have any watercolours (I'm sort of shocked at that really - with my obsession of owning all the colouring things you'd think I own every shade of every color in every thing - I still have a ways to go apparently) on hand in these colors (I know I could mix up any color I could possibly need - but I wanted to keep things simple for once). SO - I decided to use some MFT dye inks and watercolour with those.

Side note - way back in the day this was my first ever attempt with watercolours: using dye ink pads. Now that I've tried so many different kinds and styles and mediums I found it to be interesting to compare using the dye inks to using actual watercolour. While it's not bad in the least to use the dye ink pads (if that's all you've got then rock it) I kept trying to rework the color (I edited that out of the video) and getting frustrated b/c the color won't move after it's dried a bit - which makes sense as it's not MEANT to. I had forgotten that little (though important) fact. Something I'll keep in mind if/when I decide to use my dye ink pads for watercoloring again!

I LOVE the "warm" stamp in this Mama Elephant stamp - it's what made me get it in the first place. SO unique and fun, and having all the little coordinating mini words to complete the sentiment gives it a lot of versatility.

I think I gush about the SSS embossing powder in the video but seriously y'all - I really am LOVING their embossing powder! I'm hoping they come out with a bunch more colors/finishes b/c I'll definitely be getting them!

I finished off the inside by stamping the cup and one of the tea tags from the set with the same dye inks and stamping a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's Friendship Messages set.

SSS What's Brewing | Paper Piecing | AmyR 2016 Coffee Card Series #1

Hi everyone! I hope y'all had a great weekend :). I had meant to have this posted Friday night but ran into technical difficulties. I've got all the kids in bed now and laundry going so I've got a few free minutes to get it all posted! :)

If it hasn't been glaringly obvious how obsessed with coffee-themed stamps and paper crafting products I am, well this new series should make it all apparent LOL!

As I say in the video - this will just be on-going throughout the year since 1 - coffee is life (if you're anything like me it is anyway) and 2 - it's not a set holiday so I don't have time constraints (which I REALLY like). For those that aren't into coffee (I know there's a lot out there) I will be doing some more tea-themed ones I'm sure (I love tea too - just not nearly as much as coffee).

Anywho here's card #1:

I used several of the new goodies I just showed in my last haul video - this Simon Says Stamp What's Brewing? stamp set has been out for a couple years now - I don't know what took me so long to get it!

I did some paper piecing and sponging and embossing on the mug as I wanted it to be the main focus of the card. These patterned papers from the Pebbles pack I just got are so fun! There are so many cute patterns in it!

I finished off the inside with the mug and a stamped and embossed sentiment from the set and that was it!

Coffee Love Card | Color Throwdown Challenge 377 | AmyR Valentine Series #9

Hey everyone! I have another card for my final guest spot with the Color Throwdown Challenge blog - I had SO much fun this month with their challenges! If you haven't checked them out or played along you definitely should - they post a new challenge every week and there's a TON of inspiration from the team to go with it!

Here was this week's challenge:

I could have gone so many ways with this challenge - I love the color combo, but I also end up getting inspired by the picture as well - I had some ideas for it but instead went coffee-themed because coffee!

Of course the Memory Box stencil I used is no longer available :P - but I linked to some alternative stamps that would work too.

I finally used my SSS Coffee Cup die that I had got forever ago, along with the new-to-me Hero Arts Need Caffeine set that I'd gushed about in a more recent haul video - the sentiment and the hearts in the die made this fit perfectly into my Valentine series without screaming Valentine! LOL!

I finished off the inside of the card with a couple of stamped images from the Need Caffeine set and that was it!
