Whimsy Stamps Tri-fold Birthday Card

Hello everyone! I made my first tri-fold card!!

I used Whimsy Stamps Old Fart 🤣 stamp set to make this hilarious birthday card, and I combined it with MFT's Balloon Numbers Die-namics to personalize it. I did some "old school" paper piecing on the main image using Doodlebug's Hello 6x6 pack.

I stamped the image with Ink on 3's Blackout ink and coloured it in with Copic markers and then paper pieced her cardigan and skirt. I also used some of the patterned papers for die cutting with the balloons and for the frame and main card panel.

For the first inside panel of this card I white heat embossed (using Rangers Super Fine Detail white embossing powder) all the sentiments from the Old Fart set onto black card stock. I trimmed them all out and adhered them over more of the patterned paper balloons.

On the inside of the card I used this stamp from Two-Lips Stamps - since this card is late and going to arrive late it was rather fitting lol!

I also stamped the main character onto a Simon Says Stamp Cotton Candy pink envelope with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink to finish it off.

Neat & Tangled Floral Frame Cards & Gift Card Boxes

Hello everyone! I'm part of a week-long series of little blog hops to celebrate Neat & Tangled's 6th Birthday!

Here's what I created for today:

I made a couple of birthday cards using the new Floral Frame stamp set and coordinating dies, and made a couple of little gift card boxes with the new Gift Card Box Die and Thanks So Much stamp set.

All the images were stamped onto Bristol Smooth card stock with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and clear heat embossed. I then used my Arteza Real Brush Pens and a water brush to color everything in.

I white heat embossed the Floral Frame onto matching envelopes - it is the PERFECT size to use on an envelope to be able to fill in the recipients address in the centre, and still have space for postage and a return address! LOVE!!

The new Gift Card Box is adorable and came together so quick and easy. I used stamps from the new Thanks So Much stamp set and then embellished it with the flowers and leaves from the Floral Frame set and that was it!

Honey Bee Stamps Frappe Cards | Prima Watercolors

So - Honey Bee Stamps just had a HUGE new fabulous release called the BEE BOLD Release. You can check it all out HERE <-----click! - I'll have a Release & Review video on it coming ASAP!

For now here are some fun Frappe Cards I made with some of the new stamps and dies:

These are 4.25 x approx 7" cards - so they will fit in a 5x7 envelope.

Of course I was beyond giddy to see that there was this new Frappe Shake Card wafer die set in the release. How FUN is this???

I used Prima watercolors on Canson XL watercolor paper to create some backgrounds that I then die cut with the "base" of the Frappe Shake Cup wafer die to create the “contents” of my frappes, then die cut the whip cream, straws and card bases from white card stock.

I sponged Tumbled Glass Distress Ink along the top of all the cards – just to give it a bit of color so that the tops weren’t all white with the whip cream die cut and dome of the card. I also sponged on Mowed Lawn Distress Ink onto the straws.

I used a combination of the new Enjoy and Because stamps and Honey Cuts dies along with the previously released Sweet stamp set and Honey Cuts dies for all the sentiments on the outsides of the cards. On the insides I used the new Shake It Off stamp set along with the new Gift Card Pocket die that I cut from vellum before adhering to the inside of the card.

MFT Safari Friends Birthday Shaker Card | Distress Oxide Inks

Hello everyone! Hope you're having a good weekend so far!

OK FINALLY got this video edited and uploaded to share with y'all for this fun Safari Friends birthday shaker card that I made earlier in the week as part of a guest spot for My Favorite Things last month!

I stamped the images from the MFT Safari Friends stamp set onto kraft card stock with versafine onyx black ink then clear heat embossed them. I then used my Distress Oxide inks and a water brush to color them all in.

I show in the video how I created the big birthday shaker gift - so much fun to play with all those dies and shaker pouches. I need to make more with them!

I finished off the inside of my card with the elephant from the Safari Friends set and a sentiment and that was it!

SSS Funny Food Take 5 | Watermelon Day | Copic Markers

So apparently it's Watermelon Day - really there's a day/holiday for everything now. I get a kick out of when Simon Says Stamp posts graphics like this though for different "holidays" as I find them a good source of fun inspiration! If you missed the last time I made a card because I was inspired by one of their graphics you can see that post here:

Stack of Ice Cream Card | SSS Picture Book Ice Cream Cone & Distress Oxides

So for today's card I pulled out the Funny Food set as that was a rather obvious choice for this holiday:

I combined Funny Food with CZ Designs Yays wafer dies along with Doodlebugs Sweet Summer patterned papers.

I stamped the watermelon onto Neenah Classic Crest 80ob card stock with SSS's Intense Black ink and coloured them in with Copics. I added some highlight and texture with my white Gelly Roll pen and then die cut them with the coordinating wafer die.

I added an enamel bow from a different Doodlebug collection (linked below) and added some 3mm Studio Katia Googly Eyes to the top melon - to make it "one in a melon" LOL!

I finished the inside of the card by adhering some of the printed die cut fruit shapes that come in the Doodlebug Sweet Summer Odds & Ends pack. I then die cut the SSS Happy Birthday Script die from black card stock, glued it into place and that was it!

Painting with Tonic Shimmer Powders | SSS Beautiful Flowers Take 5

Hello everyone! Since Simon Says Stamp released a coordinating wafer die set for my all-time favourite stamp set: Beautiful Flowers. I of course needed to make a couple of cards with it:

I. LOVE. THIS. STAMP. SET. In case it wasn't painfully obvious 😉.

I white heat embossed the large stamp onto Ranger watercolor paper then used my Tonic Shimmer powders to color everything in. Instead of sprinkling them onto the watercolor paper and spraying them with water I sprinkled the powders in to a little plastic palette and used my detail water brush to color in all the images.

Once everything was dry I used the coordinating die to cut them out and popped them onto my card front with Simon's Big Momma foam tape.

I used the new Big Happy wafer die for my sentiments, and added some pearls to finish off the embellishments.

I finished off the insides of the cards by stamping the floral cluster on the inside with Distress Oxide inks in Peeled Paint and Shaded Lilac and then stamped a sentiment from the Beautiful Flowers stamp set and that was it!

I couldn't resist using the new Picture Book T-Rex wafer die for my card - he is hands down my absolute favourite from this release. Though honestly I have a soft spot for all the Picture Book wafer dies that Simon's released!!

I die cut my T-Rex using Distress Watercolor paper and then sponged on various Distress Inks to get him the colors I wanted. After adhering it all together I used a white gel pen to add some texture and highlights.

My background panel was made using the new Diamond Pattern wafer die - I am really loving this die and the matching Diamond Pattern background stamp (I used the stamp on yesterday's cards here).

On the outside and inside of the card I used sentiments from the Birthday Palooza stamp set and coordinating wafer die set.

Tonic Shimmer Powders | Emboss Resist Backgrounds

OK so I had a lot of requests for more videos using the Tonic Nuvo Shimmer powders - if you missed any of my previous posts and videos using them I have links to them all in the upper right corner of my video below. A lot of people were asking what did EACH color look like on it's own (as I tend to mix them when I'm working with them) - so I created 8 backgrounds with one each of the powders.

I heat embossed 4 different background stamps twice onto watercolor paper using detail white embossing powder. 2 of the backgrounds are from Simon's new Friendly Frolic release:

Over each of the backgrounds I sprinkled one of the Nuvo Shimmer Powders then sprayed it with water and set it aside to dry. Once they were all dry I trimmed them down and adhered them to white card bases with Scor Tape and craft foam.

For my 2 masculine cards I used the new Diamond Pattern background stamp, Tonic's Storm Could and Green Parade shimmer powders, and the CZ Design Dude wafer die and CZ Emphatic stamp set.

I used the same Emphatic stamp set to stamp my sentiments on the inside of both cards with SSS's Intense Black ink.

These 2 cards use the new Folk Dance Background stamp along with the Atlantis Burst and Blue Blitz Shimmer Powders, and the new Big Happy wafer die and Tabbed Sentiments stamp set.

I used a sentiment from the Messages for Everyday stamp set on the inside of these cards.

For these cards I used the Centre Cut Burst background stamp and Solar Flare and Catherine Wheel shimmer powders along with the Good Vibes wafer die and Tabbed Sentiments stamp set.

For the inside I stamped a sentiment from the Emphatic stamp set.

My final 2 cards use the Flower Explosion stamp set along with the Cherry Bomb and Violet Brocade shimmer powders, the CZ Design Love You Wafer dies and Messages for Everyday stamp set.

I finished off the insides of these cards with a sentiment from the Emphatic stamp set and that was it!

The Sassy Club Sea Creatures Shaker Card | Copic Markers

Hey everyone! I hope y'all had a good weekend!

So when I posted yesterdays cards and video I had a background left over - I used it for the shaker card I made today:

I used images from The Sassy Club's Sea Creatures stamp set and stamped them onto Neenah Classic Crest 80lb cardstock with Ink on 3's Blackout Ink and coloured them in with Copic markers and highlighted them with my white gel pen.

I created a frame from SSS Royal Purple card stock with 2 Waffle Flower rectangle dies, backed that with a piece of acetate and stacked it with 2 layers of foam tape.

I used the background I created with the Oxide inks and adhered some of the creatures to the background and some to the frame and acetate.

I used a BUNCH of different Studio Katia jewels and Iridescent Bubbles and sequins to fill up my shaker - love how pretty they look with all the colors!

I finished off the inside by stamping a sentiment from the Sea Creatures set and added the puffer fish, then stamped one of the coral images with Oxide inks along the bottom and that was it!

Stack of Ice Cream Card | SSS Picture Book Ice Cream Cone & Distress Oxides

So this was posted on Simon's Instagram this morning - and it totally reminded me that I had sketched out a card idea for Simon's Picture Book Ice Cream Cone wafer die. So I pulled out my supplies and got to making it while it was still National Ice Cream Day (tho really shouldn't it be that every day?).

This is a 3.75" x 8.5" card (fits in a standard size 10 business envelope)

I die cut the Ice Cream Cone multiple times from Bristol Smooth card stock, then used a ton of Distress Oxide inks and sponged them onto all the pieces.

I used Simon's Clouds for Days stencil on the card base (also made from Bristol Smooth card stock), and the Happy Birthday Script wafer die for the sentiment.

I die cut the back half of the Happy Birthday sentiment multiple times and stacked them together in order to adhere the sentiment over the ice cream (as those were popped up with foam squares). I added 4mm Studio Katia Googly Eyes to the ice cream, and some SSS Groovy confetti to the background. The "My Sweet Friend" sentiment is from the CZ Design Hello You stamp set.

I finished off the inside of the card with sentiments from the CZ Design Birthday Palooza set that I inked up with several of the Oxide inks I'd used on the ice cream and that was it!

Action Wobble Rainbow Hippo Cards | WaffleFlower Hip Hip Hooray

Happy Friday!!

What better way to start off a Friday the 13th then with rainbow hula hooping hippos?

I used the Hip Hip Hooray stamp set from Waffle Flower and stamped them onto Neenah Solar White 80lb Classic Crest card stock with Ink on 3's Blackout Ink. I coloured them in with Copic markers then added glitter with a Sakura Stardust Pen and highlights with a white gel pen.

To create my background on my card bases I used MFT's Radiating Rays stencil and a bunch of Distress Inks that I sponged on in rainbow order. I popped up the hippos with mini Action Wobbles so they wiggle and move!

I finished off the insides of the cards with another sentiment from the Hip Hip Hooray stamp set and that was it!

Studio Katia Spinner Glow in the Dark Card

So many people have asked if there's a difference between Lawn Fawn's Glow in the Dark embossing powder and WOW's Glow in the Dark embossing powder. So I made a card using both - and they're the exact same. In this pic the one on the left (LF) looks brighter but that's only because I had held it in the light for longer than the other piece before going into a dark room and snapping a pic!

So I used a couple of those glow in the dark heat embossed spinners to create this fun card. I had stamped the spinners onto SSS Audrey Blue card stock with Hero Arts white Unicorn pigment ink then heat embossed them with the Lawn Fawn and WOW Glow in the Dark embossing powders. After die cutting them with their coordinating dies I coloured them in with a couple of Tonic Nuvo Aqua Flow pens and COVERED them with glitter using Nuvo's Glitter Gloss brush pen.

I also used the glow in the dark embossing powders on the card front panel with the spinner images. I used white embossing powder for the motion lines and circles, and after embossing sponged on three different colors of Distress Oxide inks.

I show in the video how I die cut small circles into the card front, then use a couple MFT Spin & Slide Discs to enable the spinners to actually spin on the card.

I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the spinners with the same Oxide inks and added a white heat embossed sentiment from the Spin-tastic set and that was it!

PPP Sparkle Dot Patterns Take 2

I wanted to create more cards using Pretty Pink Posh's Sparkle Dot Patterns 1 and 2 stamp sets using some of the new packs of jewels that I got recently.

I stamped the images from the sets onto white card stock with Simon Says Stamp's Barely Beige ink, then adhered varieties of the jewels using Ranger's Multi Medium Matte adhesive.

I used a few different Pretty Pink Posh stamp sets for the sentiments, white heat embossing them on black card stock. For the heart card I die cut the PPP Lovely Script wafer die from white and Tonic's Polished Gold Mirror card stock (which die cut like a dream - no cracking or flaking off) that I'd run through my 3" Xyron Sticker marker before stacking together and adhering to my card.

I finished off the insides of the cards with sentiments from the same Pretty Pink Post sets I'd used on the front, as well as one from the newer Simple Sayings: Life stamp set and that was it!

SSS Beautiful Flowers with Tonic Nuvo Shimmer Powders

Ahhhhh nothing like racing to finish editing and voicing-over a video while a thunderstorm rolls in and before the kids (and the noise!) wake up!

It was a long weekend and a holiday here yesterday - so today definitely feels like a Monday.

I wanted to create more with the Beautiful Flowers stamp set that came in the SSS June 2018 card kit (as predicted the kit sold out REALLY fast - the stamp set and everything are available separately though and I'll have links at the end as usual). I've had a lot on my plate lately and missed getting this video edited for last week's Color Throwdown challenge:

I also wanted to play around some more with the Tonic Nuvo Shimmer Powders - so that's what I did. I white heat embossed the large floral image from the Beautiful Flowers stamp set onto Canson XL watercolor paper then sprinkled on 3 different colors of the Shimmer Powders before spraying with water.

I moved the color around a bit with my finger (It WILL stain your skin just fyi) just to fill in some of the flowers and leaves, and then sped up the drying with my heat tool.

I die cut the panel once it was dry with the largest of Simon's Wonky Rectangles wafer dies, and heat embossed sentiments from the Beautiful Flowers stamp set onto scraps of Audrey Blue and Green Apple card stocks. I finished it off with white pearls and adhered the panel to my card base with foam tape.

I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the sentiment with SSS's Green Apple ink then stamping the individual flowers with the Audrey Blue ink and that was it!

MFT Too-Cute Turtles | Distress Ink Watercolor

Hey everyone! The cold I was dealing with turned into bronchitis - so I'm definitely moving slower than usual. Since card making/blogging/videos is my job and only source of income though I have to keep plugging ahead if I want to pay the rent (I only add that "disclaimer" as I end up with a bunch of comments and e-mails telling me to take a break as a lot of people still assume I do all this just as a hobby! Being self-employed like this means no paid sick days).

Anywho - I'm feeling better-ish at the moment, I was at least able to do the voiceover for this video. It took multiple takes and I spliced it all together to make it into one anyway lol!

I've had this MFT Too-Cute Turtles stamp set sitting on the top of my "to-use" pile for a while now, so I inked it up and stamped the images onto some Bristol Smooth card stock with Versafine Onyx Black ink and used Distress Inks to color them in.

I only used 3 inks for all the colors of the images - my go-to Distress Ink combo of Picked Raspberry, Mermaid Lagoon and Mustard Seed. I am loving the Tim Holtz Glass Media mat and having the white "palette" are on it means one less thing I need to pull out when I'm playing around with inks.

I did ink smushing with Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Inks to create my background and used multiple MFT Die-namics sets to create my scenes for the cards.

I finished off the inside of the cards by stamping the turtles with Twisted Citron Distress Oxide and the sentiments with Versafine Onyx Black ink and that was it!
