SSS Boquet of Flowers Stencil | CAS Birthday Card

Hello everyone! I needed to make another birthday card and came across this SSS Bouquet of Flowers stencil that I hadn't had the chance to use - so I made a one-layer CAS (Clean and Simple) card with it:

I am SOOOO looking forward to spring - especially the last few days as it got gloomy and COLD here (and some more snow too) - so making this card was a good way to bring on Spring LOL!

I sponged various Distress Inks over the stencil which I then spritzed with my Distress Sprayer to create the splatter effect. I then rubbed on just a bit of the Tonic Nuvo Embellishment Mousse on the flowers and stems for a tiny bit of shimmer. It was really hard to capture in a picture - hence the odd angle - but in the light it shows up!

I finished off the inside of the card with another stencilled flower, and a sentiment from the SSS It's Your Birthday! stamp set, which as I mention in the video was designed by yours truly! Since I was making this card for a friend I thought it'd be nice to use a set that I designed on it as well :).

Life Update October 2015 Video

Hello everyone! It's been a while (as usual) since I've posted. Life is still a crazy balancing act but I'm getting there with trying to find more time to post on here and do videos!

I got this one done anyway after multiple attempts - so frustrating LOL! But now it's done so here is another random ramble from me:

I updated my profile pic to a much more recent one and had my whole color scheme re-worked to a much more "me in 2015" sort of scheme. It makes me happy and a nice way to freshen things up!

Bellariffic Friday Mar 27: Making a Card #114 Video

Hello everyone! This is card and video #2 in the past few hours - I posted another one last night so if you missed it you can scroll down or click here to check it out.

I used Uptown Girl BUNNY and her DAFFODIL along with my Hopped Up sentiment set, and FINALLY got a chance to pull out and use some of these Doodlebug Easter Parade patterned papers that I had got some time ago.

I did a little paper piecing on her skirt and colored everything in with Copics.

Carrot for Your Thoughts: Making a Card #113 Video

4-Bar Sized Card

I took some time to play today while Katelyn was napping and the older 2 were at school. I was itching to use some of the new CCDesigns images along with my new Hopped Up sentiment set, and decided to use this cute little Carrot Love image.

I used my Gansai Tambo watercolors to color in the bunny and to create the wash for the background. I didn't bother including my failed background attempts in the video LOL. I really was "playing" around a bit and experimenting - but in the end kept it more simple with this background. It's definitely not the watercolor's fault it's the user *ahem* ;). I need more time to practice and fiddle!

Making a card #110 Video: You're in my Favorites

Happy Friday everyone! Sorry it's been so quiet on here this week - I've still been struggling with this cold (almost 2 weeks now - I'm sick of being sick) along with Katelyn and have had NO energy for anything. I'm glad to say I'm FINALLY feeling better though and yesterday I was able to get a card and video done while K was down for her nap:

I had this idea for this card some time ago, so when I finally got some time to stamp this is what I made. It helped since I generally struggle a lot when I haven't stamped in a while trying to figure out what I'm going to make, but this one came together pretty close to what I'd been picturing in my head!

I used the new Roberto's Rascals Erica Texting stamp along with my new Teen Scene sentiments stamp set.

More Inktense Experimenting: Making a Card #107 Video

I had quite the productive day today craft-wise - and here's one of the cards and videos I was able to get done. FYI I would have been MORE productive if my iMovie program didn't keep crashing on me. So I'll apologize now if the voiceover in this video is somewhat jerky or sounds "off" at all - I went over it a bunch of times after all the crashes and had to repeat myself half a dozen times and by then I was just DONE with the whole thing. My only real worry is that I didn't catch any swearing in the voiceover LOL! I was SOOOOO frustrated!

ANYWHO - after all the editing issues and the time to upload it's finally live to accompany this card:

This Himalayan Poppy image is from CCDesigns - a totally different style than what they normally produce. It's from the newer DoveArt Studio line that's all more "real" images - this one and the cupcake are my favourite!

So after my last Make a Card video I wanted to play around some more with my Inktense Pencils and Dove blender pen, and this time I used my Distress watercolour card stock. I have to say I *REALLY* like this combo!

Valentine Series Video #11: Falling Hearts

This card ended up being one of those ones that the rough idea in my head before I started ended up looking NOTHING like the finished card LOL! But it was fun nonetheless.

I used this Pollycraft Rain stamp and decided I wanted to make it look like it was raining around the image - and what better way to do that than to use my SSS Falling Hearts stencil? Too perfect for words :).

I've had my Prismacolor pencils sitting out for a couple of days now so I tend to reach for whatever is handy when I DO have time to create - so that's what I used to color in the image. I added some glossy shimmer with my Pico embellisher while I was at it - it's subtle but so pretty.

CCDesigns Angel Wings: Valentine 2015 Series Card #10

I finally got a chance to use some of the new Valentine CCD images and get another V-tine card and video made!

I used my current favourite Doodlebug lovebug patterned papers for the card and coloured in this CCD Angel Wings image with Copics. The sentiment is from my new Elegant Valentine set and heat embossed with detail white embossing powder.

Bellarific Friday Jan 23, 2014: Making a Card #104 Video

Anywho back to the post at hand:

This week's Bellarific Friday challenge was this color challenge:

I was in the mood to play around with watercolor, and like I say in the video I wasn't planning on filming it as I just wanted to "play" - but ended up turning on the camera anyway. I will apologize though if the video seems a bit "off" - I was SO tired by the time I did the editing and voiceover that I felt like a total zombie :P. It doesn't help that with my preggo brain I feel rather foggy when trying to explain things LOL.

I heat embossed the SB Flower Garden image with white detail embossing powder then watercolored it all with my White Nights watercolor palette. Once it was fully dry I die cut it with one of the dies from the MFT Blueprints 20 set.

I finished the inside by stamping the flower image again using 2 different dye inks then stamping a sentiment from my Great Greetings stamp set with MFT's Nightshift Blue hybrid ink and that was it!

CCDesigns Haul #10 Video

Hello everyone!

I haven't "shopped" online for stamping supplies since the fall, during the winter and with the holidays and all the Christmas shopping I was so busy with everything else that I just stopped shopping for ME. Well now I'm back at it LOL!

I got some goodies from CCDesigns along with some repleshniments, and when the box got here I was so excited. And since Katelyn wasn't napping when I decided to film the haul video she sat on my lap while I went through everything. It's definitely not something that can happen very often (she's getting SO big and my lap is getting smaller LOL - I'm over 6 months now!) - but today it was fun and she loved all those Doodlebug sprinkles packs. I caught her later sneaking in here to grab one of the packs to play with :P.

I'm also proud to FINALLY have gotten her to say "bye" in a video - if you've watched my hauls in the past with her in them you know I tried SO many times to get her to say it or wave and she wouldn't until I turned the camera off. This time she actually said "bye" and it was adorable of course ;) ;) (total proud momma moment LOL).

Inkin' of You: Valentine 2015 Card Series Video #8

I had some "play" time today while the older kids were at their grandparents, Katelyn was napping and hubby was out ice fishing (I will NEVER understand them enjoying sitting out on the ice staring at a hole in -30C temps LOL - and I've grown up and lived here all my life!). So while everyone was "out" I played with distress inks and markers and just had some fun and this was the result:

I filmed the whole process while I was at it of course and was able to get it edited before Katelyn woke up, and it's just finished processing now so I can get this post up now that everyone's gone to bed!

I've included this in my Valentine series but this is another one of those "any occasion" sort of cards - I just couldn't resist the cute images in the YNS Sea Creatures Two set and had to use them.

For once I was able to somewhat capture the shimmer from the Wink of Stella - but that's also b/c I loaded it on to the Octopus image ;). I show in the video what I did to make it extra sparkly/shimmery.

I also mention in the video that my Underwater Sentiments set is an OLD set that was released years ago. It's still available as are all the sets I've released - over 80 now! Pretty much words/sentiments for any and all occasion.

Skating By...:Making a Card #103 Video

Hello everyone!

I can't believe it's almost the end of 2014 - it feels like this year just flew by. I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas (and if you don't celebrate Christmas I hope you had a great Thursday) and are ready to ring in the New Year!

We kept everything pretty low-key over here last week - it was nice to just spend time with the kids and hubby and then celebrate Christmas with extended family. I've been REALLY enjoying getting a chance to sleep in in the mornings with everyone home - not something I get to do very often!

I FINALLY got some time to just sit down and make a card - no rhyme or reason I just wanted to stamp and color. That actually all went pretty well - it was the editing of the video that ended up driving me bonkers. I go on a bit of a rant (sorry!) in the video about it - basically I decided to update my Mac to Yosemite OSX over the holidays so that all my other programs could be updated and I TOTALLY regret it at the moment. Everything is different, especially my iMovie program. It took me more than twice as long to edit the video and figure out what on earth I was doing - and I still couldn't edit things properly. 

I think for the most part y'all won't notice much difference - but on my end I was ready to pull my hair out. I also mention in the video that my hubby gifted me with a new editing program (Final Cut Pro X) for Christmas which I've wanted for years now. I've been hesitant to get it b/c it looks like it has quite a learning curve (and if you know me at all I'm not too great at anything tech - I muddle through it all as best I can), but with this iMovie upgrade I am more motivated than ever to figure out this new program!

ANYWHO - that's part of what's going on here for me at the moment ;). On to the card:

I pulled out my CCDesigns Meoples Ice Princess image along with my Chilled Out Sentiments set and my Doodlebug Frosty Friends patterned paper.

All the coloring was done with Copics and the die cut snowflakes are SSS dies (links in the supplies).

Bellarific Friday Nov 21, 2014: Christmas Card Series #10 Video

This was a fun card to make - the majority of it all being coloring. And I got to use a (new-to-me) shimmer spritz product that I am now in LOVE with - I so wish I could do justice to it on camera! It's so pretty IRL!

So I made this card using the Valerie with SNOWMAN image from Stamping Bella and paired it with my Chilled Out sentiments set.
