Rainbow Watercolor Distress Spray Stain vs Oxide Spray | SSS Beautiful Flowers Take 20

Hey friends!

Yup - it's my 20th video using Simon Says Stamp's Beautiful Flowers stamp set. What can I say - this set has been a favorite of mine since it came out however many years ago, and when I pulled it out again recently I warned y'all that I'd be making more videos with it again!!

I am also still on a rainbow kick (it's so fun and cheerful how could one not want everything in rainbow colors) and decided for these cards to do one with Distress Spray Stains and one with Distress Oxide Sprays.

So I started off by white heat embossed the Beautiful Flowers image onto Canson XL watercolor paper.

I used Distress Spray Stains on this card - my current "go-to combo" of Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon, and watercolored them over the image.

On the second card I used the same colors but this time with Distress Oxide Sprays.

I used the CZ Design Hugs wafer die for my main sentiment and topped the die cuts with Simon's Black Glossy card stock - LOVE the shine that gives!

I kept the insides of these ones simple and just stamped the Beautiful Flowers floral with Simon's Fog ink. That way these cards can be used for pretty much any occasion and I have plenty of space to write!

Easy Rainbow Stamping w 3 Inks | CZ Design Silhouette Sentiments Take 2

Hey friends! I have a couple more cards and a video to share with y'all using this CZ Design Silhouette Sentiments stamp set. I've been using the sentiments on recent cards but the silhouette florals image was too perfect not to use with my Oxide inks and brayer:

I stamped Simon's Arches Background onto white card stock using Simon's Fog ink. On another piece I inked up the silhouette floral image from the CZ Design Silhouette Sentiments set with 3 colors of Oxide inks - Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon - and a brayer.

I added black splatter with Black Soot Distress Paint, and the butterflies were made from Simon's Gold Glitter cardstock and the Flickering Butterflies wafer dies.

On the insides of the cards I stamped the Arches Background using the same Fog ink. I stamped the silhouette floral image after having stamped it on the panel for the front so I was getting a lighter, second generation stamping which is perfect for the inside IMO. I added a sentiment from the Silhouette Sentiments set and another one of the butterflies and that was it!

You Are So Loved Cards for PRIDE | SSS Beautiful Flowers Take 19

Hey friends! OK as promised in my previous post (HERE) I am back with another couple of cards inspired by the inside of the previous cards I posted lol!

These cards use ONE stamp set - my all-time-fave oldie-but-goodie Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers stamp set. After making the previous cards I was inspired to make these using only 3 colors of Distress Oxide ink. I used Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon Oxide inks to ink up this large floral and they blended and created this lovely rainbow of colors.

I used sentiments from the Beautiful Flowers stamp set, and white heat embossed the "loved" word onto black card stock with Simon's Detail White embossing powder. I then used those same 3 Distress Oxide inks and a water brush to paint inside the letters. Once it was attached to the card I used my Nuvo Clear Glitter Gloss Aqua Shimmer pen and went over the sentiment again so that it's glittery and man oh man is it pretty in real life!

On the insides of the cards I'd stamped the floral without re-inking it - meaning I stamped the front, then flipped over the card base and stamped it a second time on the inside. So the ink isn't as intense which is perfect for the inside (as I will just write over it and the writing will show up nicely). I used more sentiments from the Beautiful Flowers stamp set and that was it!

Hey friends! So I'm still working on getting videos edited and uploaded while I keep experimenting and fiddling with these rainbow backgrounds using different products. If you have no idea what I'm talking about just scroll down through my most recent posts on here as there's a lot I've been sharing!

For today's cards I pulled out my all-time-favorite oldie-but-goodie stamp set - Simon Says Stamp's Beautiful Flowers. I LOVE this set. I've done a TON of videos using it over the years - in fact you can check out a YouTube playlist I have with a bunch of videos using it as well as videos using the Beautiful Flowers 2 stamp set which is also a favorite of mine:

OK here are the cards:

I created the backgrounds using Canson XL watercolor paper and Distress Oxide Sprays in Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, and Mermaid Lagoon. I also added some Brutus Monroe Pearl Shimmer Mist to them while I was at it.

I white heat embossed the big floral from the Beautiful Flowers stamp set onto vellum then die cut it with the coordinating wafer die, and adhered it to the panels with Craft Tacky glue.

For the sentiments on the outside and inside of the cards I used the CZ Design Silhouette Sentiments set. On the insides of the cards I inked up the Beautiful Flowers image with Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon Oxide inks (which inspired me to create the cards I'll be sharing with y'all right after this post lol!). I LOVE the rainbow of color they created!

OK on to the cards:

So I've been using my Nuvo Shimmer Powders a LOT lately - and I am aware that they are currently sold out at SSS. I will most likely update from my Facebook page <------click! when I see them back in stock (as I don't have plans to stop using them and I have more ideas LOL!) as that's one of the easiest places to keep my peeps updated on things. Anywho - I thought I'd make some colourful, shimmery backgrounds that DON'T use the shimmer powders this time.

So I pulled out an oldie-but-goodie fave background stamp - the Abstract Triangle Background stamp, and white heat embossed it onto Canson XL watercolor paper. I then used Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Spray Stains along with Brutus Monroe Pearl Shimmer Mist to add all the color and shimmer.

I used the CZ Design Spring In My Step stamp set for the sentiments and white heat embossed the Paper Hugs sentiment onto vellum then used the coordinating wafer die to cut it out.

On the insides of the cards I stamped the Abstract Triangles Background with Simon's Fog Ink. I then inked up another sentiment from the Spring In My Step stamp set using Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide inks and a brayer. I finished them off by stamping a sub-sentiment from the Spring In My Step stamp set and that was it!

OK back to the post! I have really been enjoying playing around with Nuvo Shimmer Powders again as well as Simon's oldie-but-goodie Beautiful Butterflies stamp set. So I made a couple more cards using both:

These are 3.5 x 8.5" Slimline Cards.

I white heat embossed the butterflies from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set onto Canson XL watercolor paper and then sprinkled Cherry Bomb, Solar Flare and Blue Blitz Nuvo Shimmer Powders over them, sprayed them heavily with water and let them dry.

I used the coordinating wafer dies to cut them out once they were all dry.

To create the backgrounds I used Simon's Detail Petal Slim Plate wafer die to die cut some navy card stock which I then inked and splattered (of course). The CZ Design Hugs wafer die for the main sentiment and then a sub sentiment from the CZ Design Spring In My Step stamp set were used for the sentiments. 

On the insides of the cards I stamped another sentiment from the CZ Design Spring In My Step stamp set and then added another one of the butterflies and that was it!

Hey friends!

So I couldn't resist creating some more with my Nuvo Shimmer Powders (I have an entire playlist HERE <-----click! on YouTube that has almost two dozen videos I've done over the years). I love my shimmer powders. And yes, I have a bunch of the Lindy's Stamp Gang Shimmer Powders on order (as far as I can tell they're the same/extremely similar to the Nuvo Powders - so no one NEEDS to have both/all - but I do LOL. I am excited to play with all the colors once they get here) as I've had a lot of questions about the LSG ones over the years and I'm excited to finally be able to try them out!

Anywho - I posted these cards the other day:

Easy Ink Smooshed Butterflies | SSS Beautiful Butterflies Take 2

And I decided to use the new Arches Background stamp and the Beautiful Butterflies set again but this time creating a totally different look with them:

I white heat embossed the Simon Says Stamp Arches Background onto Canson XL Watercolor paper. I then sprinkled on Cherry Bomb, Solar Flare and Blue Blitz Nuvo Shimmer Powders and sprayed the backgrounds heavily with water then set them aside to dry.

I LOVE how the colors blended together and all the rainbow effects they created!! I need to do this again!!

I used Simon's Beautiful Butterflies stamp and die set and white heat embossed the butterflies onto vellum and die cut them with the coordinating wafer dies.

I used the CZ Design Spring In My Step stamp set and coordinating die set for the sentiments on the outside and inside of the cards. I then paired them with some black envelopes and that was it!

Hello hello friends! I pulled out a bunch of my Nuvo Shimmer Powders to create some cards and decided to add in some Distress Spray Stains when making the backgrounds. So yes - lots of inspiration and info all in there and now much more easy to find lol!

I pulled out Honey Bee's Lovely Layers: Hydrangea and Lovely Layers: Bugs wafer die sets and made these cards:

I created several panels using Canson XL watercolor paper and a variety of Nuvo Shimmer Powders and Distress Spray Stains. I have all the supplies that I used linked below as always and I "grouped" the powders and spray stains together in the order that I used them just in case anyone was wondering what colors/combos were used. I'll also list them with the closeup of each cards (as I type stream of conscious thoughts while typing this post LOL). 

After all the panels were dry I used Honey Bee's Lovely Layers: Hydrangea wafer dies to die cut all the flower layers and leaves. For the backgrounds I used Honey Bee's Quilted A2 Coverplate on Canson XL watercolor paper along with a bit of Jade Fountain Nuvo Shimmer Powder and Speckled Egg Distress Spray Stain.

For the bugs I used the Lovely Layers: Bugs wafer dies, Canson XL watercolor paper, and Solar Flare Shimmer Powder, Meteorite Shimmer Powder and Black Soot Distress Spray Stain. The wings were all die cut from Lawn Fawn Pearlescent Vellum.

All the leaves were: Jade Fountain Shimmer Powder, Falling Leaves Shimmer Powder, Sunray Crosette Shimmer Powder, Twisted Citron Distress Spray Stain, Rustic Wilderness Distress Spray Stain

Pink Hydrangea: Cherry Bomb Nuvo Shimmer Powder, Spun Sugar Distress Spray Stain

Purple Hydrangea: Violet Brocade Shimmer Powder, Lilac Waterfall Shimmer Powder and Shaded Lilac Distress Spray Stain.

Blue Hydrangea: Atlantis Burst Shimmer Powder, Blue Blitz Shimmer Powder and Speckled Egg Distress Spray Stain.

I used Honey Bee's Kind Buzzword wafer die for all 3 cards - layering it with the Pearlescent vellum and topping it with Simon's Matte Gold Mirror card stock. I then used the Kind Buzzword stamp set to gold heat emboss all the companion sentiments.

On the insides of the cards I used the Miss You Big Time stamp set and stamped the large sentiments with Simon's Goldenlocks ink and then stamped the companion sentiments with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and that finished them off!

Hey friends! So after I created the card I posted before this:

VIBRANT Ink Blended Peony Card | Honey Bee Lovely Layers: Peony

I was still loving the color combo so decided to make more cards using it:

I started off by stamping Simon's new Arches Background stamp onto white cardstock panels using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. 

I then did some ink smooshing using Simon's Peony, Peachy and Lemonade Pawsitively Saturated Inks onto Distress Watercolor cardstock.

I gold heat embossed the butterfly stamps from Simon's Beautiful Butterflies stamp set onto the dry ink smooshed panels then die cut them all with the coordinating wafer dies. I also gold heat embossed a sentiment from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set onto black card stock and trimmed them out with scissors.

On the insides of the cards I stamped the Arches Background stamp with Simon's Fog ink, and then stamped another sentiment from the Beautiful Butterflies set with Peony ink and that was it!

VIBRANT Ink Blended Peony Card | Honey Bee Lovely Layers: Peony

Hey friends!! I couldn't wait to make another card using the Honey Bee Lovely Layers: Peony wafer die set. I am OBSESSED. If you missed my previous card using it you can find that here:

Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers: Peony Card

For today's card I wanted to do some ink blending on the layers so I pulled out some of my Pawsitively Saturated Inks and did just that:

This is a 5x7" Card

I die cut all the layers using the Lovely Layers: Peony die set from Hammermill card stock and then blended Peony, Lemonade and Peachy Pawsitively Saturated Inks on all the blooms. For the greenery I used Celery, Limelicious and Pearfection PSInks. 

I die cut more white card stock using the Delicate Doily Card Base wafer die and used the coordinating stencil to cover it and blend the yellow and green ink over. And then I added splatter (of course) with Saltwater Taffy Distress Paint.

I hot foiled the Birthday sentiment using Honey Bee's Birthday Hot Foil Plate and Magenta Glimmer Hot Foil from Spellbinders.

To finish off the card I used sentiments from the Honey Bee Birthday Wishes stamp set that I clear heat embossed, ink blended over, and then die cut with the coordinating wafer dies and that was it!

You Did It Flat Shaker Card with Hot Foiling

Hey friends! After I posted this card using a hot foil plate to dry emboss (it's HERE if you missed it) I wanted to show the plate actually foiled - and I thought it would be great to combine with this week's Color Throwdown Challenge:

Here's what I made:

I used the Intricate Floral Background Hot Foil plate, foiled it onto some Hammermill White card stock, and then ink blended Simon's Limelicious, Surf and Royal inks over it. I then turned it into a flat shaker card with some recycled packaging and a couple of different sequin mixes.

I used the new You Did It wafer dies, and ink blended the same colors onto the words before stacking them for dimension and die cutting the outline from vellum.

On the inside of the card I used the CZ Design Yay You stamp set and stamped it with those same inks and that was it!

After unboxing the kit I decided to focus on the Slimline Sunburst Stencil and the Starshine Stickles Glitter Gel that came in the kit and made 2 slimline cards with them:

These are 3.5 x 8.5" Slimline Cards.

I created backgrounds using Squeezed Lemonade Distress Reinker over Distress watercolor paper. After adding splatter (of course) and letting everything dry I applies the Starshine Stickles Glitter Gel over the backgrounds with the Slimline Sunburst Stencil.

They're SO shimmery and glittery and reflective in real life! I die cut some of Simon's Sunshine card stock with the Scripty Big Hugs wafer die that comes in the kit and stacked 3 layers together to give it dimension. And of course I added some bling from my stash: Studio Katia Pineapple Delight Crystals.

On the inside of the cards I used the Slimline Sunburst Stencil with Simon's Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Sunbeam. On the Slimline Dandelion envelopes I used the stencil with Citrine ink to tie it all together and that was it!

Hey friends! Honey Bee Stamps had a FABULOUS release recently (I haven't had a chance to film any Release & Review videos lately as there's been a TON of construction noise and chaos around here. BUT if y'all still want me to film and share them let me know in the comments!) and I was allllll over the new Lovely Layers: Peony wafer die set:

It looks a little overwhelming and blah when looking at JUST the die set eh? But HB has this awesome layering graphic:

You can right click on this and print it out or save it as a reference if needed - I of course show in the video how to layer all the pieces and trust me it comes together SO easily! Like all the previous Lovely Layers wafer die sets it's pretty much largest to smallest and then you're done.

Here's the first card I've made with this Lovely Layers: Peony wafer die set:

Just like all the other Lovely Layers sets the sky is the limit when deciding how you want to "color" them. Solid color card stock, watercolor paper and watercolors, ink blending, sprays, etc etc. I've shown many different variations in previous posts which you can check out at the links below if you missed them:

Honey Bee 10K Celebration Hop

I LOVE peonies - in real life and in paper version. I planted some peony bulbs a couple of years ago and got my first bloom last year and it was SO pretty: 

How can one NOT love peonies eh? I so hope I get a bunch more blooms this year!

OK back to the card info:

I used Memory Box's Vibrant Violet and Lush Green paper packs for the Lovely Layers: Peony blooms and leaves. The MB cardcardstock packs are heavyweight but FYI the color is PRINTED onto the paper so they do have a white core. Which I am fine with but I wanted to point that out as printed paper behaves differently than solid core when it comes to inking, stamping, etc (which usually isn't a big deal most of the time but if you notice a difference that will most likely be why). I like having all the variety of colors (there's several different packs - you can find them all here).

I used Honey Bee's Sweet Stacks Rectangles wafer dies to cut some white card stock and then ran that piece through my die cut machine with the Swirling Leaves Pierced A2 Coverplate to give it all that detail and texture.

The big sentiment is from the Thinking of You Big Time stamp set. I gold heat embossed it and then die cut it using the coordinating wafer dies.

For the inside of the card I gold heat embossed sentiments from the Inside: Kindness Sentiments stamp set and die cut them with the coordinating wafer dies and that was it!

Here's what I made for today:

I used the new Orange Blossoms stencil and wafer die set along with Simon's Pawsitively Saturated Inks to create these cards.

I also used the new Domed Arches stencil set on the background, then added the Yay You CZ Design Wafer Die. I added a little companion sentiment from the coordinating Yay You stamp set as it's just a good one to add to cards IMO!

I finished off the insides of the cards with stencilled and die cut pieces from the Orange Blossoms set, paired the cards with some Lemon Chiffon envelopes and that was it!

I couldn't resist playing around with the new Intricate Floral Background Hot Foil Plate. Instead of foiling with it though I dry embossed it onto white cardstock:

After dry embossing the Intricate Floral Background onto pieces of white card stock I splattered them with my Zig Gold Mica ink.

I used the new Happily Ever After wafer die and stacked it with black card stock and topped it with Simon's Matte Gold card stock. I also added some gold glitter die cut hearts using an oldie-but-goodie favorite Mini Hearts Party wafer die.

On the insides of the cards I stamped sentiments from the Happily a Lifetime stamp set and that was it!
