Hello friends!

I have been struggling with the words to say what's on my mind with what's been going on in the Ukraine. Normally I keep world events, politics, religion etc off of all my social media pages. Not because I don't care (quite the opposite in fact) - but because I view my career and my "corner of the interwebs" as an escape from reality if you understand what I mean? Crafting is therapy, and I have been told by a lot of people how much they enjoy being able to unwind and just take part in my videos without having to think too hard.

That said - I still wanted to raise some awareness and show my support. I stand with Ukraine. My heart just breaks for what is happening and people that I KNOW in this industry are sleeping in bomb shelters overnight and making molotov cocktails to use among so many other things that is hard to wrap my head around. Again I have no words.... so instead I made this:

The sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine. Their flag is blue and yellow - so I took inspiration from that to make this card 💛💙.

I die cut Canson XL watercolor paper using Simon's Sunflower Petals wafer die set and the leaves from the Detailed Rose wafer die set. I used a bunch of Distress Spray Stains to color the pieces (specific colors listed below).

I used CZ Designs Here for You wafer die and ink blended Prize Ribbon Distress Ink over it. I clear heat embossed a sentiment from the Well Wishes stamp set and used the same ink over that as well.

I created a textured panel by first die cutting some white card stock with one of the Nested Domed Arches wafer dies then running it through my die cutting machine with the Lumen Embossing Folder.

On the inside of the card I stamped more sentiments from the Well Wishes stamp set using Mustard Seed and Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide inks and that was it!

Floral Vase of Thanks | Honey Bee Stamps

Hey friends! Over the weekend I shared my Honey Bee Stamps Modern Spring Release & Review video HERE <-------click! Today I'm part of a YouTube hop sharing inspiration for this release - and since it's on YouTube you can start the hop HERE <-------click!

Here's the cards I made:

I used the new Floral Vase stamp set with the coordinating Floral Vase stencil set and coordinating Honey Cuts wafer dies. With the stencils, some inks and blending brushes I had all these colored in in no time.

I did add a tiny bit more detail with Copic markers here and there. On the card base I'd die cut white card stock with the Secret Garden A2 Honey Cuts wafer die and adhered to the cards before popping up the vase and layers with Big Momma foam tape.

On the insides of the cards I stamped the Floral Vase with Seafoam ink, and then stamped sentiments from the Bitty Buzzwords Bloom stamp set with Sweets ink and Honey Bee's Intense Black ink and that was it!

Golden Hour Take 2 with 2 Distress Oxide Sprays & Nuvo Glacier Paste

Hello friends! After my previous post and video (which you can find HERE if you missed it) I couldn't resist making more cards using this combo of Hickory Smoke and Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Spray:

This time I sprayed them over Canson XL watercolor paper, and once it was dry I mixed together Tonic's Golden Era and Bronze Medal Glacier Pastes and applied them over my fave Spring Boho Circle Stencil.

I used my favorite Etched Dragonfly wafer die and die cut the wings from Tonic's Copper Mine card stock (LOOOOOOOVVVVEEEE - ahhhhhhhhh) and bodies from Simon's Slate card stock. I also die cut the Bold Thanks wafer die from Slate card stock and adhered 3 layers together.

On the insides of the cards I applied Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide ink over the Spring Boho Circle stencil with a blending brush, then stamped a sentiment from the XL Greetings 2 stamp set with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink and that was it!

Hey friends! I am back again with a couple of cards and a video. I saw a post by Laura on the Tim Holtz Addicts Facebook group a couple of weeks ago and it just INSPIRED me. She created some backgrounds using just two Distress Oxide sprays and I screenshot her post and ended up making my cards today inspired by her post. So the Distress Oxide Sprays in question - Hickory Smoke and Gathered Twigs. I've used both on various projects many, many times. But JUST those two together? I never would have thought of it. But look:

I sprayed some Mixed Media Heavystock with water and then sprayed the Hickory Smoke and Gathered Twigs Oxide Sprays and moved them around a bit before letting them dry. They ended up creating this almost-suede looking background that I just LOVE. 

I couldn't resist using my favorite oldie-but-goodie Simon Says Stamp Wildflowers stamp set on these cards. I inked up the stamp with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink and heat embossed it with Hickory Smoke Embossing Glaze and the result is SO pretty. Then I added gold splatter of course 😉.

On the insides of the cards I stamped the Wildflowers image again with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink and then added a sentiment from the XL Greetings 2 stamp set with Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide ink. I used the Flickering Butterflies wafer die and had die cut some Lawn Fawn Pearlescent vellum that I'd tinted with an E23 Copic marker. I added those to the outside and inside of the cards and that was it!

Fancy Cake Set Birthday Card

Hey friends! Today I have a fun birthday card to share with you all using only wafer dies and a stencil (and a stamp for the inside):

I started off by using the Simon Says Stamp Confetti Stencil with Tonic's Bronze Medal Glacier Paste and let that dry. I die cut an assortment of scraps using the Streamer Ribbons wafer dies and adhered those over the background.

I used 3 different wafer die sets for the cake: Simon's Fancy Cake wafer dies, the add-on Decorated Cakes wafer dies and the oldie-but-goodie Blooming Circle wafer dies for the little flowers and leaves.

The Happy Birthday sentiment was die cut and stacked and then topped with my Tonic Glitter Gloss Aqua Shimmer pen to give it sparkle (which you can see better in the video!).

On the inside of the card I added more of the Streamer Ribbons die cuts and then stamped a sentiment from the XL Birthday Greetings stamp set with Simon's Cantaloupe ink and that was it!

Lucky To Gnome You Mini Slimline Card

Hey friends! Today's card features the Uber-adorable Gnome Lucky mini stamp set that was part of Simon Says Stamp's Good Luck Charm release:

This is a 3 1/8 x 6 1/4" Mini Slimline Card.

I stamped the Gnome Lucky image onto Simon's 120lb Smooth White card stock with Intense Black ink and colored it in with Copics and added highlights with my favorite white gel pen.

I used the coordinating wafer die to cut out the image as well as to cut extra layers from scraps to adhere behind it to add dimension.

For the background I had die cut the same white card stock using the Mini Slimline Lattice wafer die which I then backed with green glitter paper from the Tonic Green Valley mixed card pack.

On the inside of the card I stamped a sentiment from the Gnome Lucky set and stamped the solid clover image with Simon's Pawsitively Saturated Inks, and stamped the envelope too while I was at it and that was it!

Watercoloring with Pawsitively Saturated Inks | Hibiscus Blooms

Here's what I made:

I created a mixed media background by first clear heat embossing Simon Says Stamp's Hand-Lettered Friends Background onto some Canson watercolor paper. I then ink smooshed Celery and Fairway inks, added splatter and let it dry.

Over all of that I applied crackle paste over the Spring Boho Circle stencil and while the paste was wet I sprinkled on some Unicorn Dust glitter.

The main image is from the Hibiscus Blooms stamp set and was stamped onto the same Canson watercolor paper with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. I then watercolored in the image with several Pawsitively Saturated Inks, added a bunch of splatter and once dry I die cut it with the coordinating wafer die.

On the inside of the card I stamped the same image with Simon's Bubblegum ink, added a sentiment from the Hibiscus Blooms set and that was it!

Simon Says Stamp's March Card Kit is here <-------click! and I have a card and video with an unboxing of the kit to share with y'all today.

I used one of the watercolor panels that come in the March Card Kit and watercolored it with a couple of my Prima watercolor palettes, and then splattered it with some white gouache. Once it was dry I cut it out with scissors.

After trimming down a couple of the patterned papers from the kit I die cut one of them with one of the Nested Domed Arches wafer dies. 

I adhered the remaining patterned paper die cut arch into the inside of the card. The sentiments are from the Hoppy Days Ahead stamp set that comes in the kit and I white heat embossed them onto the Cornflower card stock before trimming them out and adhering them and that was it!

Big Hugs Dreamy Daisy Layers Card

Hey friends! So today's post is for this week's Color Throwdown challenge:

Here's what I made:

I die cut some Canson XL watercolor paper using Simon's Dreamy Daisy Layers wafer die and then used the Pawsitively Saturated Ink Trio 7 to paint the layers with water and a paint brush.

I did the same thing using the Privet Branch wafer die and Simon's Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Field green.

I die cut another piece of the Canson watercolor paper using one of the Nested Domed Arches wafer dies that I ink blended and splattered some Cappuccino and Mocha inks onto. I used the Mocha ink to stamp the Friendship Text Background onto some Smooth White card stock and then blended the Cappuccino and Mocha inks on that as well.

On the inside of the card I stamped the Friendship Text Background using Marine ink, and then the sentiment strips I added to the inside and outside of the card are from the CZ Design Well Wishes Sentiment Strip pack and that was it!

Yellow Antique Layering Roses Cards | Honey Bee Stamps

Hey friends! I have another post and video to share with y'all - continuing with my current love for yellow lol (if you missed my post and video this morning you can either scroll down or find it HERE).

Honey Bee Stamps Antique Layering Rose stamp set is so pretty - and I decided to use Simon's Pawsitively Saturated Ink Trio 3 (yellows) for all the layers b/c aren't they PRETTY in yellow?

I used Simon's Pawsitively Saturated Ink Trio 8 for the leaves, and then used the coordinating Antique Layering Rose Honey Cuts dies to cut them all out.

For the background I used Honey Bee's Geometric Lines Background Stencil over some Sea Glass card stock and Simon's Surf ink - then added splatter of course ;).

On the outside and inside of the cards I white heat embossed sentiment from the Inside: Kindness stamp set onto black card stock. After die cutting them with the coordinating wafer dies I adhered them into place and that was it!

So here's what I created:

I created a mixed media background by stamping Simon's Friendship Text Background onto Canson watercolor paper with Fog ink. I then ink smooshed some of Simon's Pawsitively Saturated Inks onto the background and added splatter. For some additional texture I applied crackle paste over the new Clover Wreath Stencil and let that dry.

The main image is from the new Spring Stems stamp set. I white heat embossed it onto the same watercolor paper and watercolored it with more of Simon's Pawsitively Saturated Inks. After splattering it and letting it dry I die cut it with the coordinating wafer die. The sentiment is from the new CZ Design Feel Better Soon wafer die set.

On the inside of the card I stamped the image from the Spring Stems set with Lemonade ink, then stamped a sentiment from the CZ Design Well Wishes stamp set and that was it!

EASY Butterfly Cards | Spellbinders Butterfly Card Creator Etched Dies

So my friend Bibiana Cameron <-------click! (I HIGHLY recommend checking out her blog - she makes amazing cards) just released a collection with Spellbinders called Bibi's Butterflies:

Aren't they fabulous? She had Spellbinders send me some of the die sets and while I intended to use all of them for this post I got carried away with the Butterfly Card Creator Etched Die set and made a bunch of cards with it:

The Butterfly Card Creator die set is HUGE - the largest butterfly wafer die in the set measures 5x7". LOVE IT.

I made a butterfly-shaped card with it, and a 5x7 card, and an A2 card and then ended up making two 4-bar cards (3.5 x 5.5") because I made a TON of the flowers and leaves from the set.

This butterfly-shaped card uses the 2 large butterfly wafer dies in the Butterfly Card Creator Die set and makes a 5x7" card.

For all the die cut sentiments on the fronts of the cards I used Spellbinders Simply Perfect Mix and Match Sentiments.

I created a 5x7" card base from Simon's Smooth White card stock, masked off the perimeter and then blended Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink around it before adhering another large butterfly and all the florals and sentiment.

I used the slightly smaller butterfly from the Butterfly Card Creator die set and adhered it to a white A2-sized card base for this card.

Then since I still had a BUNCH of the florals and greenery die cuts I made 2 more 4-Bar Sized cards. I used the largest butterfly and cut it and the body in half and adhered the halves to each card.

I kept all the insides simple and stamped sentiments from Simon's XL Greetings 2 stamp set with Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink and that was it!

I created a bunch of tags to attach to bags of candy I plan to give to my kids for Valentine's Day. For the tags themselves I used these #8 Dina Wakley White Media tags - they're heavyweight and stand up well to a ton of inks, sprays, layers, etc etc. I used several Distress Spray Stains to color them, and then mixed up some Transparent Gloss Texture Paste with Icicle Crackle Paste and Simon's Unicorn Dust Glitter. I used that mix over Simon's Large Falling Hearts Stencil.

I used Simon's Love Day stamp and die set for the characters and sentiment, and the Big XOXO wafer dies on the tag itself.

I stamped blank tags with this large sentiment from the XL Love Greetings stamp set with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink then adhered them to the backs of all the tags. I added a bunch of ribbon and twine from my stash and all that's left is to attach them to bags of candy!

Hello friends! I have a card and video to share with y'all for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge:

Here's what I made:

I pulled out my Simon Says Stamp Thankful Flowers stamp set (it's an oldie-but-goodie favorite of mine) and stamped the floral image onto Arches Cold Pressed watercolor paper with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. The florals were watercolored with my Mijello Mission Gold watercolor palette and once dry cut out with the coordinating wafer die.

I was inspired by a recent card Debby Hughes posted when I created this mixed-media background. I stamped Simon's Thank You Text Background onto another piece of watercolor paper with Fossil ink. I added watercolor and splatter and crackle paste and even used a couple of Distress Crayons. 

For the sentiment I die cut some gold paper from Tonic's Gold Hearted 6x6 pack with Simon's Bold Thanks wafer die, and gold heat embossed a sentiment from the Thankful Flowers set onto black card stock.

On the inside of the card I stamped the Thank You Text Background with Fossil ink, then stamped the floral and sentiment from the Thankful Flowers set with Cracked Pistachio and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide inks. I stamped the floral onto the envelope with the same Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink and that was it!
