So the other day I posted a Release & Review video for Honey Bee's Autumn Splendor Release HERE <------click! well the stencils just arrived and I HAD to do something with the new Trick or Treat Stencil Set as it was fabulous:

These are 3.25 x 6.25" mini slimline cards.

I pulled out some Dina Wakely tags, some Distress Oxide Sprays and the new Halloween Mica Spray Stains and got to making some fun inky backgrounds. I did a post HERE showing this technique in a similar way - so I created a mask using some masking paper that I'd die cut with one of Honey Bee's new Sweet Stacks: Circles wafer dies. 

I created black embossing paste using texture paste tinted with Black Soot Distress Paint. I also poured the new Halloween glitter over the stencilled tree for the spooky, sparkly look.

On the insides of the cards I stamped the Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun stamp with Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink and then stencilled on the bats from the Trick or Treat Stencil and that was it!

Easy Watercolor Thank You Card | SSS Sunshine Flowers

Hello friends! Today's card and video uses the second set from Simon's September 2021 Card Kit - I did an unboxing and made 2 cards using the other set in this post here:

One Stamp Two Slimline Cards | SSS September 2021 Card Kit Unboxing | Sunflower Garden

So this time I pulled out the Sunshine Flowers set to make this card:

I stamped the image from Sunshine Flowers stamp set onto Fabriano Artistico Cold Press using my Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and heat embossed it Wow's Clear Matt Dull embossing powder.

I then used my Mijello Mission Gold water-colours to paint the image and once it was dry I die cut it with one of Simon's Basic Rectangle Wafer dies.

I added a BUNCH 😉 of splatter using white gouache and Ranger Perfect Pearl powder. I also die cut some vellum as well as one of the patterned papers from the September kit with the Basic Rectangles wafer dies.

On the inside of the card I stamped the floral cluster from the Sunshine Flowers stamp set using Simon's Rosie Cheeks ink, then stamped a sentiment from the set with the Nocturne ink. I paired the card with one of Simon's Metallic Green Leaf envelopes and that was it!

Distress Spray Stain Die Cut Leaves Cards

Hello friends! I took my own advice and played around a bit with some of my Distress Spray Stains and Heavystock, made 3 backgrounds and then die cut them with some of Simon's leaf wafer dies. Specifically the Large Stitched Oak, Etched Laurel Leaves and Large Stitched Maple wafer dies - then put them onto cards:

I die cut some Dark Chocolate card stock with one of Simon's Basic Rectangles wafer dies, then gold heat embossed a sentiment from the All About You stamp set onto them.

I made some bows from hemp cord in my stash and adhered them with Distress Collage Medium. And added gold splatter with my Gansai Tambi Starry Colors palette of course ;).

On the insides of the cards I stamped another sentiment from the All About You set with Dark Chocolate ink and added the remaining die cut leaf. I paired the cards with some gold envelopes and that was it!

Hello friends! I hope y'all had a good weekend - it's hard to believe summer is nearly over.

I got the e-mail notification that the SSS Wildflowers stamp set was back in stock so I pulled it out to create more cards with it as it's been a favorite of mine for some time (see my playlist HERE that has several videos using it). Since I wanted to make more Halloween cards I decided to incorporate another very non-Halloween set just like I did in the first video of this year's Halloween series.

I created some ink blended panels using Distress Oxide inks over Simon's smooth white card stock. I then clear heat embossed the Wildflowers stamps over those backgrounds, and added Black Soot Oxide ink over it. This technique has been called all sorts of things over the years but I think the original name for it (from waaaaayyyy back in the day) is the Joseph's Coat Technique. It's easy and fun!

I added some shimmer with the Empty Tomb and Flickering Candle Mica Spray Stains, and a sentiment from the Spook Up Some Halloween Fun stamp set.

The Flickering Butterflies were die cut from Simon's Black Glitter paper.

I inked up the Wildflowers images with the same Oxide inks using Simon's Blending Brushes, added another sentiment from the Spook Up Some Halloween Fun set and the remaining butterflies. I paired the cards with some Black Metallic Envelopes and that was it!

One Stamp Two Slimline Cards | SSS September 2021 Card Kit Unboxing | Sunflower Garden

Hello friends!! My Simon Says Stamp September card kit showed up:

Here's the first couple of cards I made:

These are 3.5 x 8.5" slimline cards.

I white heat embossed the image from the Sunflower Garden stamp set onto some Cold Press Fabriano Artistico watercolor paper and then watercolored it with my Mijello Mission Gold watercolors. Once it was dry I cut it in half to get two card fronts and make two cards.

I added splatter (of course) and mixed Perfect Pearl powder with water to add some shimmer splatter too.

On the insides of the cards I stamped the big Sunflower Garden image with Simon's Cobblestone ink and added a sentiment from the set in black ink. I added some of the washi tape that came in the kit and that was it!

You're an A+ Teacher Card

Hello friends! Today's card is for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge:

Here's what I made:

I combined the CZ Design Teacher Thank Yous stamp set and coordinating dies with the Organic Fruits stamp set and coordinating dies. I used the apple from the Organic Fruits set and coloured it with Copics and the "a+" image from the Teacher Thank Yous set that I also coloured with Copics.

I pulled out my oldie-but-goodie favorite: Simon's Large Tags wafer dies. I die cut a tag from black card stock and rubbed white pigment ink on it to give it that chalkboard look.

On the outside and inside of the card I stamped Simon's Radiating Alphas background stamp with Audrey Blue ink. On the inside I then stamped a sentiment from the Teacher Thank Yous set and the apple and that was it!

Distress Mica Stain Die Cuts | Honey Bee Lovely Layers Coneflower Take 2

Woo! I just got the email notification that Honey Bee's Lovely Layers Coneflower die set is back in stock (for the moment - it will be sold out again quick I'm sure but I can let y'all know on my Facebook page and Instagram when it's back).

After my earlier post and video using the new Ranger Halloween Mica Spray Stains I thought it would be fun to combine those with this die set and make something non-Halloween:

These are 3.25 x 6.25" mini slimline cards.

I die cut the pieces for the Coneflower from Distress White Heavystock, then used several of the Mica Spray Stains plus some regular Distress Spray Stains to color all the pieces (specific colors are listed in the supplies below).

They're SO sparkly and shimmery in real life - I show it better in the video. Pics just don't do it justice.

I used Honey Bee's Friend wafer die set and coordinating Friend stamp set for the sentiments, and then added some bling to the cards as one does.

I used the My Favorite Flower stamp set and coordinating wafer die set for the sentiment on the inside, and paired the cards with Mini Slimline Grocery Bag envelopes and that was it!

Last weekend was Tim Holtz' Halloween Ranger release:

I couldn't wait to play with the new Mica Spray Stains and used all but 2 of the colors to make these backgrounds:

I used the CZ Design Just Batty Stencil over some Kraft Heavystock and then sprayed the Mica Spray Stains over them. 

For the sentiments I used the CZ Design Halloween People stamp set and coordinating wafer die set. I white heat embossed the Spooky word and ink blended over it with Distress Inks. I used CZ Designs Batty wafer dies and black card stock (with a scrap of white card stock adhered behind the eyes) to create the big bat on the cards.

On the inside of the card I used another sentiment from the Halloween people set that I'd heat embossed and ink blended over, then stamped the bat from the same set with black ink and that was it!

So this week's Color Throwdown Challenge threw me for a bit of a loop. It's a good one (they always are), but with me being all "Halloween" and late summer and starting to think fall etc etc - the pastel colors stopped me in my tracks LOL!

After I started thinking about it I decided I wanted to incorporate these colors into a Halloween card because why not? So this is what I came up with:

This is a 5x7" card.

OK slight detour first. Tim Holtz Halloween products have been coming out - and last weekend was the Ranger release:

Anywho Tim did a live video showing those products with all sorts of info and inspiration. If you didn't watch it it's HERE <-----click! I was watching it and it's what inspired the background for my card.

So I created this drippy, pastel background using Distress Oxide Sprays and a brayer and spray bottle. I also used the Hocus Pocus stencil with Milled Lavender Distress Oxide ink to add the subtle stars.

I white heat embossed some of the webs from the Tim Holtz Spiderwebs stamp set onto the background as well.

The main image and sentiment is from the Colorado Craft Company Witch's Hat stamp set. They have an entire "Big and Bold" line with all these HUGE images. I've purchased a few of them over the last couple of years and am finally getting around to using them. If you missed it I used their Slimline Ice Cream image recently to make a flat shaker card HERE.

Anywho - I stamped the image onto the background, then stamped it a second time onto Neenah card stock and coloured it in with Copics. I fussy cut it and added it to the inky background, along with a sentiment from the Witch's Hat set and some bling.

On the inside of the card I stamped the hat with the Milled Lavender Oxide ink and then stamped another couple of sentiments from the Witch's Hat set and that was it!

Distress Oxide Ink Blending and Water Lifting | CZ Design Silhouette Sentiments

Hey everyone!! So today's card and video is me experimenting and using several new-to-me tools lol. 

First off - ink pad holders. Breanne is the inventor and owner of The Ink Stand and she is LOVELY. She reached out to me not too long ago and asked if she could send me a few and I said heck yes. I'd been trying to order them from SSS for a while but they kept selling out before I'd get an order together LOL! So now I have a few and will DEFINITELY be getting more:

OK now on to the card:

This was so much fun to make and I love this Distress combo - Prize Ribbon, Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral. I used CZ Design's Silhouette Sentiments set and stamped and heat embossed the silhouettes onto some Distress watercolor cardstock before blending on the Oxide inks using Simon's new Blender Brushes (also new to me and yeah - I'm loving them).

I used Simon's Slimline Sun Rays stencil over the background which I sprayed with water and picked up with a paper towel. Since Distress Inks react with water I was left with this cool effect. I of course then splattered the inks as well as Perfect Pearl powder all over it for shimmer. And I die cut Lawn Fawn Pearlescent Vellum using Simon's Flickering Butterflies wafer dies to add to the card.

On the inside of the card I stamped the Silhouette image using the same Distress Oxide inks, and I stamped the sentiment and butterflies with Nocturne ink. I pulled out a Doll Pink envelope and stamped the Silhouette image on to that too and that was it!

Now onto the newest cards:

These are 3.5 x 8.5" slimline cards.

I pulled out some oldie-but-goodie favourites from Honey Bee Stamps to make these fun cards. I LOVED The Name's Jack wafer dies and the coordinating stamp set when they were released a couple years ago. So I pulled those out for these cards along with several other Honey Bee stamps and dies to make these scenes.

I started by ink blending Distress Oxide inks onto my card bases, and then ink blended the die cuts made with the Horizon Slimline Borders die set. I used Simon's woodgrain card stock for the fence before blending over it and LOVE that texture is gives!

The ghosts were die cut from Lawn Fawn Pearlescent vellum and the faces were stamped and heat embossed with glitter embossing powder.

I used Honey Bee's Bee Bold Alphabet for the "GHOUL" and Friend Wafer dies and coordinating Friend stamp set to make the sentiments. Simon's Silver Holographic card stock was the perfect topper for the "friend" die cut.

I finished off the insides of the cards with a sentiment and more pearlescent ghosties and that was it!

Distress Oxide Spray Watercolor | SSS Cup of Love

Hey everyone! This week's Color Throwdown Challenge just went live:

You can check out what the rest of the team created with these colors HERE <-------click! and play along yourself if you'd like!

Here's what I made:

I pulled out Simon Says Stamp's Cup of Love stamp set, and first I white heat embossed the hearts. I then stamped the cups with Nocturne ink and used Distress Oxide Sprays and a paintbrush to watercolor them.

I stamped the card base with Simon's Spring Flowers Background using Fog ink. The "coffee rings" was a trick I picked up from Debby Hughes post HERE <-----click! BRILLIANT.

I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the cup with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink and the "coffee" with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink. I added a sentiment from the Cup of Love set, a little splatter and that was it!

Inky Colorful Mini Slimline Zombie Cards | AmyR Halloween 2021 Series #3

Now for the latest cards:

These are 3.25 x 6.25" mini slimline cards.

I created several inky, messy, smooshy backgrounds using several Distress inks (specific colors are listed and linked in the supplies below) and Distress watercolor paper.

I used Tim Holtz Tangled Webs stamp set on the backgrounds, stamping it and also white heat embossing it. The main images and sentiments are from the Tim Holtz Zombies stamp set. I used the same Distress inks to color in all the images.

On the insides of the cards I stamped the Tangled Webs images, and added a sentiment from the Tim Holtz Pumpkinhead stamp set and that was it!
