EASY Slimline Flat Shaker Card | SSS Fading Stars Stencil

Welcome to my latest obsession friends!! LOL! I am LOVING making flat shaker cards - they're so fun and it finally gives me a way to use up the packaging I've kept and my massive stash of sequins, confetti and glitter!

So now on to the latest cards - slimline flat shakers:

These are 3.5 x 8.5" Slimline Cards.

I ink blended on some of Simon Says Stamp's Smooth White card stock creating a rainbow blend using several Simon inks. I then used the new Fading Stars stencil and blended black ink over it. Over that I added Dark Matter Stickles Glitter Gel - it's hard to see that in the photos/video (especially as I LOADED these up with a ton of confetti and glitter) but in real life it can be seen.

I used the CZ Design Thanks wafer die, and cut down some of the Reverse Gratitude Sentiment Strips to finish off the sentiments on the front.

On the insides of the cards I blended the same inks over the Fading Stars stencil, then added a sentiment from the XL Greetings 2 stamp set and that was it!

EASY Edge to Edge Flat Shaker Card | SSS Repeating Rainbows Background

Yay!! As promised I have another fun, FLAT (and ridiculously easy) shaker card to share with y'all! This one was inspired by Ilda Dias <-------click! to check out her blog! She did THIS POST a few weeks ago and I legit went and ordered the Tonic Shaker Pockets immediately after seeing it. You can check out those pockets at SSS here:  Tonic's Flat Shaker Pockets - they come in A2 size, 5x7" size, 6x6" size and slimline size. Ilda was the one who approached Tonic along with Studio Katia about them and Tonic made them happen. I LOVE Ilda's cards (I highly recommend y'all follow her for a ton of inspiration), I LOVE Studio Katia, and I have been using Tonic products for years and years now (and designed for them at one point too).

And now here's a way to make a full card, edge to edge FLAT shaker:

I started by white heat embossing Simon Says Stamp's Repeating Rainbows Background onto smooth white card stock and then ink blending several of Simon's inks over it. I used one of the Tonic A2 Shaker Pockets and after adhering it to the rainbow panel I filled it with Studio Katia Glitter Rainbow Dots and Chunky Dots glitters.

I applied Simon's Scuba ink to white card stock, and then die cut it with the outline die from the You Are Enough wafer die set. I did the same thing with the Hot Mama ink, and then white heat embossed a sentiment from the Rainbow Is My Favorite Color stamp set.

On the inside of the card I inked up the Repeating Rainbows stamp with all the same inks I used on the card front. After stamping it I stamped another sentiment from Simon's Rainbow Is My Favorite Color set with Intense Black ink and that was it!

EASY FLAT Shaker Cards!! | SSS Delicate Outline Flowers Background

Hello everyone!

I was SUPER inspired by a recent card made by Nina-Marie Trapani - she has it posted HERE on the Simon Says Stamp blog (with a video) and you can check out her blog HERE if you don't follow her already!

I recently ordered a bunch of Tonic's Flat Shaker Pockets - they come in A2 size, 5x7" size, 6x6" size and slimline size (so I got a pack of each). I didn't use these today but I have them for future projects and ideas. That said, I watched Nina's video and it was BRILLIANT. So I pulled out some of my packaging (I'm pretty sure mine was from a recent order of slimline envelopes) and made a couple of flat shaker cards:

I stamped Simon's Delicate Outline Flowers background stamp onto some Smooth White card stock using Simon's Intense Black Ink. I then blended several colors of Simon's inks over it to get the rainbow of colors you see on the finished cards.

After creating the shaker portion I filled it with a variety of Studio Katia chunky glitters and confetti. I am LOVING - LOOOVVVIIINNNGGG - how easy this is to make and yes - FLAT! I love shaker cards and love making them but sometimes mailing them can get tricky because of the dimension and bulk (which I don't mind but it just means I don't make them as often YKWIM?).

For the main sentiment I used the CZ Design Thanks wafer die set and stacked multiple layers of the word die cut to give it some dimension.

The insides of the cards turned out SO fun - I decided to try inking up the Delicate Outline Flowers background with all the inks I used for the blending on the card front panels. It turned out so fun and colorful and just tied it all together! I finished off the cards with sentiments from the Thanks Sentiment Strips pack and that was it!

Easy Crayon-themed Gift Card Holders | Honey Bee Crayon Box Honey Cuts

Hey friends!

I needed to make some thank you cards for my kids teachers to be able to give some gift cards for the end of the year (ALL teachers deserve huge thanks every year - and ESPECIALLY after this past year IMO). I pulled out my Honey Bee Stamps Crayon Box Honey Cuts set and made some crayon-themed gift card holders:

I used Honey Bee's Crayon Box Honey Cuts wafer dies a couple of years ago and made actual little cards to fit in the "crayon boxes":

You are so Loved Card | SSS Boho Circle Wafer Die & Stencil

Hey everyone!

So yesterday was National Indigenous Peoples Day here in Canada - and for those wanting to know more about it you can go HERE <------click!

I was seeing posts and support online (always a plus but we have a ways to go to put it mildly), but what struck me was this graphic that our local town page shared with info about the day:

I don't know who to give credit for for this graphic - if you know just post in the comments and I will edit to add credit!

There was something about the image that really stuck with me so I designed a card inspired by it:

I die cut white card stock using Simon Says Stamp's Boho Circle wafer die (this die is REALLY intricate as you can see - I found that using my 6x6" Spellbinders Cutting Plates and running them through with the die and then rotating it and running it through again worked perfectly). I also die cut some white card stock with Simon's Engraved Feather wafer die. I painted the feathers with Black Soot Distress Paint and used my Starry Colors Gansai Tambi palette for the gold paint and splatters.

I used the Small Script Trio wafer die set for the die cut sentiment and finished it with a sentiment from the CZ Design Simple Sentiments 02 stamp set.

On the inside of the card I used Simon's Boho Circle Stencil and did some masking and ink blending to get all 4 colors. Once the card was done I paired it with a Burnt Orange envelope and that was it!

Yeah - a bunch!!

SO - it was high time for me to finally LABEL the tops of my bottles of Reinkers. I have them all stored in a container (and before that they were all on little shelves for the IKEA pegboards but it was harder to see and access them since I use them so often) but when you're looking down at the bottles there's no way to tell which color is which. All the dye-based AKA original Distress Reinkers come in glass bottles with bulbs and droppers. 

I went onto Ranger's website and if you scroll down to the very bottom there's a "Organize Your Ranger Products" link - and they have a TON of different downloads that you can print off to organize and label all the things.

I downloaded the Distress Color Palette Reinforcers and printed them off using my Canon Pixma printer. It handles card stock so I printed them onto Neenah Classic Crast Solar White 80lb card stock (I could have printed them onto the 110lb instead but the 80lb was fine IMO).

Once they're printed out you need to punch out the centres with a 1/2" circle punch:

I would trim up to each line with scissors, then punch out the centres of the circles with the 1/2" circle punch - it's easy to line up as the colors are paler on the inside of each circle.

Then I punched out each one using a 3/4" circle punch, and had my little pile of reinforcers for each color.

This is where you MIGHT want to have them printed on thicker card stock - but again the Neenah 80lb was fine for me and none tore etc. You'll find when you're putting the reinforcer over the bulb that the bulb goes slightly "outward" towards the base of the cap. That's a good thing. You just need to gently pull the bulb to the side and press the reinforcer down, working your way around the perimeter of it.

Once it's been worked around that slight "bulge" of the bulb keeps the reinforcer in place and won't come off. Then repeat the process for the remaining Reinkers.

SO glad I did this. It took some time but being able to see at a glance which color is what will save me even MORE time when I'm crafting.

More Easy Watercolor with Distress Reinkers | Honey Bee Cap & Gown

Hey friends! Today I have a couple of grad cards to share with y'all using Honey Bee Stamps Cap and Gown stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts:

These are 5x7" cards.

That's right - 5x7 cards. My card in yesterday's post was 5x7 too - which for me isn't the norm. I generally stick to A2, slimline and now mini-slimline. BUT - sometimes 5x7 just gives that extra space and makes for a more substantial card IMO!

I heat embossed the images from the Cap and Gown set onto Canson XL watercolor paper and then watercolored them with Distress Reinkers. I silver heat embossed sentiments from the same set onto black card stock and die cut everything with the coordinating Cap and Gown Honey Cuts.

I used Honey Bee's Bee Bold Uppercase Alphabet dies and stacked them with black card stock topped with silver glitter card stock to spell out the work GRAD on each card. For the stars I used the Honey Bee Stacking Stars wafer dies and cut them from black, silver glitter and silver foil card stocks.

On the insides of the cards I added another silver heat embossed sentiment from the Cap and Gown set and the remaining die cut stars and that was it!

You Are Loved | #LoveWins Hop 2021

Hey everyone!

Today I'm part of a MASSIVE hop on Instagram - you can find my Instagram account HERE <-----click! if you don't already follow me there! This is day 6 (and the final day) of a huge #LoveWins instagram hop where a TON of people are sharing cards and projects to support the LGBTQIA+ community. We are big supporters and ally's to the PRIDE community in this household and I am loving that one of the ways to show I care is through my card making.

Here's the card I made:

This is a 5 x 7" card.

I die cut a bunch of card stock scraps in my stash using Simon Says Stamp's Strips 2 wafer dies, and adhered them to copy paper. That made the "base" of the PRIDE flag that I was recreating. I then adhered squares in all the other colors and adhered that to the side to create the new version of the PRIDE flag that's more inclusive.

I used the You Are Loved wafer die (b/c you ARE loved!! ❤️❤️❤️), and after I adhered it I added Glossy Accents to it and then used my Glitter Duster and Simon's Unicorn Glitter over it to make it shiny and sparkly.

On the inside of the card I adhered a bunch of strips that I die cut with the narrowest die from the Strips 1 wafer die set. I then added sentiments from the Reverse Pride Sentiment Strips pack, and that was it!

SSS June 2021 Card Kit Unboxing + 2 Easy Mini Slimline Cards!

Hello friends!!

Thanks to a bunch of tech difficulties, other issues, and me spending more time outside (when I'm frustrated with the computer etc etc it's best to walk away. We've been having some beautiful weather lately so I walk outside and take care of the plants I've been shockingly managing to keep alive in the backyard lol!) I haven't been able to get a video up!

However I got the issues fixed, refilmed things that I needed to re-do and have a video for y'all!

These are 3.25 x 6.25" mini slimline cards.

I used Simon Says Stamp's June 2021 card kit (it's still available as of me posting this! I'll have a link to the kit as well as to everything individually at the end of this post). I filmed my unboxing in the beginning portion of the video and then made these mini slimline cards with it.

I couldn't resist adding glitter to the clouds using Glossy Accents and 2 of Simon's loose glitters. Gotta have a little bling!

I finished off the insides of the cards and paired them with some mini slimline envelopes and that was it!

Watercolor DieCuts with Distress Reinkers | Waffle Flower Rustic Rainbow

Hello friends!! Today is Waffle Flower's June release and it is FABULOUS. You can check out all the new products here at my links below:

First off - my cards:

I used the new Rustic Rainbow wafer die set and die cut the stripes from Canson watercolor paper. I then used Distress Reinkers to watercolor them in all the rainbow colors, and once dry I adhered them to the die cut outline.

I die cut the clouds using the same die set, and staggered everything on my card fronts using foam squares.

For my sentiments I used the Label Maker Sentiments set that had come out in Waffle Flowers previous release. Once everything was adhered into place that was it!

Now on to today's card:

I used only 3 Distress Reinkers - Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon - to create a rainbow of colors in my watercolor palette. I then used the colors to paint a rainbow background that I die cut with the outline of the CZ Design Pride wafer die set.

I used the same watercolors to create a splattery background for the Pride die cut, and added a sentiment from the Reverse Pride Sentiment Strips pack.

I watercolored another panel to adhere to the inside of the card and added a couple more of the Reverse Pride Sentiment Strips and that was it!

Custom Embossing Paste with Distress Reinkers | SSS Fading Hearts Slimline Stencil

Hey everyone!!

Here's the first card and video I have using a couple of the new products, and of course incorporating Distress Ink Reinkers as I'm still going strong with them LOL!

This is a 3.5 x 8.5" slimline card.

I used 3 Distress Reinkers (Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon) and embossing paste and mixed up all my colors. I then applied them over the new Fading Hearts slimline stencil.

While the paste was still wet I used my Glitter Dusters (because of course I have several of them) with Simon's Unicorn Confetti Glitter (more chunky glitter that you can see really well in the pics) and Simon's Unicorn Glitter Dust (much more fine glitter) and dusted them over the paste. The glitters stick to the paste as it dries and now I've got this fun rainbow glittery card!

On the inside of the card I used the Fading Hearts stencil again and blended several Distress Oxide inks over it. All the sentiments on the front and inside of the card are from the new CZ Design You Are Loved stamp set. I white heat embossed them onto black card stock and die cut them with the coordinating wafer dies and that was it!
