1 Background 2 Cards | AmyR 2021 Valentine's Card Series #12

Hey everyone! I was extra productive today and got more footage edited and uploaded (not only was the battery and parts replacement last week necessary but I've noticed a difference while editing too - so I'm hoping this big improvement lasts. At least for a while anyway - my poor MacBook has been put through the ringer with all the work I do). 

Anywho - this week's Color Throwdown challenge was this inspiration:

Here's what I made:

I pulled out some old favourites from my stash to make these cards! First off was Simon Says Stamp's Center Cut Heart Background stamp - I heat embossed that onto some light pink card stock using Pink Peony embossing powder. I then die cut the centre heart using the coordinating Deco Heart wafer die - using that on a second panel cut from Simon's Smoke card stock.

I splattered both backgrounds with Picket Fence Distress Paint. For the sentiments I used the Love Shadow wafer die set and stacked layers of Soft Navy card stock to give the word more dimension. I then stamped a sentiment from the Love stamp set onto white card stock with Soft Navy ink and die cut it with one of the Sentiment Labels wafer dies.

On the insides of the cards I stamped just the heart from the Center Cut Heart background using Spun Sugar Distress Oxide ink. I then stamped sentiments from the Love Greetings Mix set onto the insides using Soft Navy and Smoke inks. I paired the cards with some Soft Navy envelopes and that was it!

Forest Scenery Mini Slimline Cards | AmyR 2021 Valentine's Card Series #11

Hey friends! I have a couple more mini slimline cards to share with y'all - and again in very non-traditional Valentine colors:

These are 3.25 x 6.25" mini slimline cards.

I pulled out Simon Says Stamp's Forest Scenery stamp set and stamped trees from the set onto Simon's 120lb Smooth White card stock. The ink colors I used were Catkin, Evergreen, Laurel Green, Fern and Beanstalk Green.

I used Versafine Clair Nocturne ink to stamp the deer silhouettes, and white heat embossed sentiments from the Love Greetings Mix stamp set onto black card stock. 

On the insides of the cards I stamped trees from the Forest Scenery set and then more sentiments from the Love Greetings Mix stamp set and that was it!

Trinity Stamps Jan '21 Release & Review + 2 Cards! | AmyR 2021 Valentine's Card Series #10

Hey everyone!

So today's video is a long(er) one - the first half I did a Release & Review of Trinity Stamps January 2021 release, then the last half is me making a couple of cards using some of the new products.

And here are the cards I made!

I used Trinity Stamps Layered Heart Stencil set to create the backgrounds using Simon's Rosie Cheeks, Teeny Bikini, Rose Apple and Hot Lips inks. I (of course) added splatter with Picket Fence, Festive Berries and Barn Door Distress Paints.

I stamped the gnomes and hearts from the Falling For You and Joyful Heart stamp sets onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb card stock using Intense Black ink and coloured them in with Copic markers. I added white highlights with my White Gelly Roll pen and then die cut the images with the coordinating wafer dies for both sets.

I white heat embossed sentiments from both sets and die cut them with the coordinating dies. I added one of the sentiments to the insides of the cards and stamped the little hearts from the Falling For You set with the Rose Apple ink and that was it!

AmyR 2021 Valentine's Card Series #9 | SSS Beautiful Flowers Take 15

Hey everyone! So thanks to my computer issues last week I missed getting my card up for the Color Throwdown Challenge:

You can check out what the rest of the team made with these colors (as well as everyone who played along) HERE <------click! There's a new challenge up now (hoping to get my video edited and uploaded for that one ASAP!).

I pulled out my much-used and much-loved Beautiful Flowers stamp set and coordinating die set to make my card. I stamped the individual flowers from the set onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb card stock with Simon's Intense Black Ink and coloured them in with Copic markers. Once coloured in I die cut them with the coordinating wafer dies.

I stamped the large image from the Beautiful Flowers set onto Neenah 110 lb card stock, then masked it off with a mask I'd created for a previous card made with this set. I then blended the Intense Black ink over some mini Leaves Stencils, removed the mask and splatter Black Soot and Antique Linen Distress Paints over it.

The card base was stencilled with the Diagonal Stripes stencil and some Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink.

To finish off the inside of the card I stamped the large image with Victorian Velvet Distress Oxide ink and that was it!

Love You S'More Mini Slimline Cards | AmyR 2021 Valentine's Card Series #8

Hey everyone! I'm way behind with all the things (story of my life as per usual lol), my laptop CRASHED crashed (it's happened here and there a few times over the past year, either Chris helps me to get it working or I've taken it in to be fixed) last week. Thankfully with the extended warranty I was able to get the battery and whatnot replaced and am back! I'm also hoping that was the issue causing the previous crashed but who knows - we'll see what happens lol. Doing videos for a living puts a lot of strain on my computer and i just fry them after a while.

Anywho - I accomplished ONE video on my old dinosaur of a desktop during this time. It's a night and day difference in speed and productivity (and hair loss as I pull it out in frustration - sort of kidding but not really). However it's done. I did it for the Honey Bee Stamps blog and then of course wanted to share it here with all of you:

These are mini slimline 3.25 x 6.25" cards.

Several of you have been asking me about "mini slimline" cards recently. I've had ideas simmering about them as this size intrigues me (I still love my regular slimline 3.5 x 8.5" cards, and A2 of course) so I thought why not give it a shot. 

I used Honey Bee Stamps Love You S'More stamp set (ahhh so cute and y'all know I love punny sentiments) and the coordinating Love You S'More wafer dies.

I stamped the s'more image multiple times onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb card stock with Simon's Intense Black ink and coloured them in with Copics. I did the same thing with the to-go cut and doughnuts. I added white gel pen highlights to all the images and die cut them with the coordinating wafer dies.

For the backgrounds I trimmed down some of Simon's Smooth White card stock and lightly ink blended Vintage Photo Distress Ink using one of Honey Bee's Background Blender brushes. I added some splatter with Ground Espresso Distress Ink mixed with a little water.

I white heat embossed sentiments from the Love You S'More set onto Dark Chocolate card stock and then die cut them with the coordinating wafer dies. I added them to the outside and insides of the cards and that was it!

I was asked about envelopes for this size - I'd use THESE ones from SSS. They released mini slimline envelopes in white, pink and yellow for their Love You, Too release and I have some here and need to get more!

So the February 2021 Card Kit showed up, I did an unboxing video of it and then made a couple of cards using elements from the kit:

These are 3.5 x 8.5" slimline cards.

I used the Poppin Pink glitter gel over the Tumbling Hearts stencil, let it dry then die cut the panels with the largest of Simon's Slimline Nested Rectangles wafer dies. I am loving how this glitter gel looks on the blue - it's so PINK!! lol

I stamped the bear and the speech bubble from the Love You Beary Much set onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb card stock with Simon's Intense Black ink and coloured it in with Copics. I white heat embossed a sentiment from the same set onto the heart then added some highlights with my white Gelly Roll pen.

I stamped the insides of the cards with another sentiment from the Love You Beary Much set, then blended some Doll Pink ink over the Tumbling Hearts stencil onto some white slimline envelopes and that was it!

I started off by ink blending some Victorian Velvet Distress Oxide ink onto Simon's 120lb Smooth White card stock. I added splatter with Victorian Velvet Distress Oxide spray that I mixed with a TEENY bit of Aged Mahogany Distress Ink Reinker (I explain the thought process in the video but I probably could have just used Aged Mahogany Distress Oxide Spray).

I then used one of Simon's Layering Hearts Stencils and Ranger's Asteroid Distress Glitter Gel:

CZ Designs Love Your Guts wafer die was used with Lawn Fawn Pencil Eraser card stock and then blended over with Aged Mahogany Distress Oxide ink to give it the ombré look. I then used Wendy Vecchi Pink Peony embossing powder to heat emboss a couple of the butterfly stamps from the Butterfly Kisses stamp set on vellum before die cutting them with the coordinating wafer dies. I also used the same embossing powder for the sentiment which is from the CZ Design Simple Sentiments 02 set.

On the insides of the cards I used the Layering Hearts stencil again and just blended the Victorian Velvet Distress Oxide ink over it, and stamped the same butterflies with the Aged Mahogany Distress Oxide ink and that was it!

For starters, here are the cards I made with some of the new products:

I pulled out several pink shades of Ranger Alcohol inks and created a couple of backgrounds on Yupo paper. Then I inked up two of the new background stamps - Radiating Hearts Background and XOXO Background - with Rangers Alcohol Lift Ink and lifted the alcohol inks from those backgrounds. Before cleaning off the stamps I stamped the lifted ink onto panels of white card stock - essentially getting two backgrounds out of one.

I used the You Are Simply the Best and Thank You For Being A Friend wafer dies for the sentiments, stacking layers die cut with white card stock and topping with pink glitter card stock.

I then added sentiment strips cut from the CZ Design Reverse Lucky Sentiment Strips, and added some bling from the Cupcake Frosting sequin mix.

On the insides of the cards I stamped the Radiating Hearts Background and XOXO Background using Spun Sugar Distress Oxide ink and that was it!

Hello everyone! So today's card is for the CURRENT Color Throwdown Challenge this week:

Here's what I came up with:

I white heat embossed the big floral heart stamp from Simon Says Stamp's Botanical Heart stamp set onto smooth white card stock. I then ink blended Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide ink over it, and added splatter with the ink and clean water. That wasn't enough splatter so I added some Chipped Sapphire Distress Paint splatter as well.

I used Simon's Diagonal Stripe stencil and some Green Envy Nuvo Glacier Paste to create the stripes. The die cut sentiment is the new With All My Heart wafer die, I inked up more white card stock, this time with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink and then die cut it.

On the inside of the card I stamped the Botanical Flower using the Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide ink and paired the card with a Doll Pink envelope and that was it!

Today's card was made for last week's Color Throwdown Challenge:

Here's what I came up with:

I created a patterned background using Simon's Layering Hearts stencil set and Distress Inks. Once I was done with the stencil I stamped the You Are Background stamp over it with Simon's Burnt Orange ink.

My main character is Simon's Picture Book Moose - I've done a bunch of videos using the various Picture Book characters from SSS. You can check out my playlist HERE <------click! with a couple dozen videos in it!

I assembled my moose and die cut some hearts from Cream and Burnt Orange card stocks and added a sentiment die cut from the Heart Animals wafer die set.

On the inside of the card I used the Layering Hearts stencils again, then added a sentiment from the Heart Animals stamp set and a couple more die cut hearts and that was it!

Love You Bunches Cards | AmyR 2021 Valentine's Card Series #2

Hey everyone! So today's post is back to my Valentine 2021 Card Series. If you missed my first post for that you can find it here:

Easy Diecut Slimline Cards with Doodlebug Papers | AmyR 2021 Valentine's Card Series #1

For today's cards I'm using some of the NEW products Honey Bee Stamps released. Their Love Letters release is huge and fabulous - you can check it all out at the links below:

Here's the cards I made for today:

I die cut the backgrounds using the new Quilted A2 Coverplate wafer die, then laid over the hearts stencil from the Quilted Hearts & Dots Stencils set and applied Frosted Petal Glacier Paste. When the paste dries it's got an almost foil-like appearance which I love.

I watercolored the bouquet from the Love You Bunches stamp set with my Prima Terrain and Prima Vintage Pastels watercolor palettes. Once they were dry I die cut them with the coordinating wafer dies, which I also used for the sentiments.

The wrap for the flowers was created with the Floral Bouquet Wrap wafer die - I die cut some of the brown paper bag that my monthly kits come wrapped in (I always recycle that paper but thankfully I had some still sitting here for this lol!).

On the insides of the cards I stamped the bouquet with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink then added another sentiment from the Love You Bunches set that was die cut with the coordinating wafer dies and that was it!

Slimline Happy Holidays Cards | AmyR Christmas 2020 Series #21

Hello everyone! Oy. It's already the 6th of January - I've been in a weird fog since New Years Eve (most likely my system trying to process all that was 2020 and the fact that we still have a ways to go to put it mildly).

ANYWHO - still working on Christmas cards. Tho like I've mentioned in previous posts/videos - I plan to jump around and do love/Valentine, random, Christmas etc. It all just depends on my mood and where inspiration is heading. For today's post it was still Christmas/holidays:

These are 3.5 x 8.5" slimline cards.

I pulled out Trinity Stamps All Spruced Up stamp set and the coordinating wafer die set to make these. I stamped the large border image onto Neenah Desert Storm card stock using Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide ink and then coated it with Rustic Wilderness Distress Glaze embossing powder and heat set it. After die cutting the border with the coordinating wafer die I inked the outer edges with the Rustic Wilderness Oxide ink.

On the card base I inked over the Slimline Stripes stencil using Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink. The die cut border was adhered with Simon's Big Momma Foam Tape and then I added a bunch of white splatter of course.

The sentiments were die cut using Trinity Stamps Scripty Holidays wafer die set and stacked and topped using Tonic's Gold Satin Pearl card stock. I added some Gold Eclipse Rhinestones and Tic Tac Mix Heart Jelly Drops to finish off the bling.

On the insides of the cards I stamped the All Spruced Up border image with the Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide ink, then sponged the same ink all around the edges to make it look more seamless.

I made coordinating slimline envelopes using Trinity Stamps Slimline Envelope Builder wafer die set and Doodlebug patterned paper and that was it!
