SSS Center Cut Snowflakes Background Take 2 | AmyR Christmas 2020 Series #14

Hey everyone! Of course I can't NOT have a white, gold and black holiday card as part of this year's Christmas card series - and of course I made more than one:

These are 3.5 x 8.5" slimline cards.

I white heat embossed Simon's Center Cut Snowflakes Background Stamp onto black cardstock then painted in the snowflakes using my Gansai Tambi Starry Colors set. I added gold splatter with the Starry Colors and then added white splatter with my Picket Fence Distress Paint.

I die cut Tonic's Gold Satin Pearl card stock using Simon's Winter Wishes Circle wafer die, and adhered it to a white circle die cut from one of Simon's Nested Circle wafer dies.

On the inside of the cards I stamped the Center Cut Snowflakes background using Delicata Golden Glitz ink. I gold heat embossed sentiments from the Circle Sentiments Christmas stamp set and die cut those with the same circle wafer die. I paired the cards with some of Simon's black slimline envelopes and that was it!

Stamping with Distress Oxides | AmyR Christmas 2020 Series #13

Hello everyone!! I had tried to get this post and video up yesterday but it's been a tad bit crazy with a bunch of technical difficulties. That said, things are working and I got this video edited and ready to go!

These are 3.5 x 8.5" slimline cards.

I pulled out Simon Says Stamp's Slimline Scene Builder - Christmas stamp and die set to make these cards. In the video I show my trick for stamping with Distress Oxide inks especially on a LARGE almost solid stamp like this. I used Speckled Egg, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire Oxide inks for the background, and then filled in the snow dots with Spellbinders Snow Queen paint pens. I of course added splatter with Picket Fence Distress Paint as one can never have enough of that.

I ink blended Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide ink onto watercolor paper and then stamped the trees from the Slimline Scene Builder - Christmas set over it with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. I made sure it all was dry before heat embossing the coordinating dot images from the set with a purple embossing powder (I linked to a couple of options in the supplies as the one I used is no longer available).

On the snow drift on the bottom I used Hero Arts White Puff embossing powder.

On the insides of the cards I stamped the trees with the Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and then added sentiments from the set that I'd white heat embossed onto some plum card stock. I added bling (of course - and links to what I used in the supplies!) and paired the cards with Simon's Grocery Bag Slimline envelopes and that was it!

Spellbinders Noel Cards | AmyR Christmas 2020 Series #11

Hey everyone! After the last couple of posts with Christmas cards in much more traditional colors I really wanted to go NON-traditional again - and this is what I ended up with:

I pulled out Spellbinders Festive Noel wafer die set and paired it with some Tonic Rustic Rose papers (I did an entire Rustic Rose lengthy haul video HERE if you missed it). I LOVE this color combo and the papers and textures with these die cuts just make me happy!

I layered a bunch of the die cuts from the Festive Noel dies and then popped up the letters with a bit of foam tape. I cut down some of Tonic's Peach Parfait Hand Crafted Cotton paper for my card front and matted that with some Concord & 9th Evergreen card stock. I also added several different Nuvo drops in all different finishes (links below to each specific one!).

On the insides of the cards I used Spellbinders To You and Yours stamp set and stamped the Merry Christmas with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink and the "to you and yours" with Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide ink. I paired the cards with pink envelopes and that was it!

Easy Glittery Christmas Cards | AmyR Christmas 2020 Series #10

Hey everyone! I hope y'all had a decent weekend - I'm having a hard time believing we're nearing the end of November already.

I did a bit of experimenting for today's cards using some REALLY old (as in prolly 5+ years old which for pastes etc is a long time. I was honestly surprised it wasn't dried out when I opened it lol) translucent embossing paste. However my plan worked and in the video I give a couple of different options to create something similar without needing to deal with "as" much mess (honestly it wasn't that bad - I'm just clumsy and messy when I craft so it happens regardless).

I used Simon Says Stamp's Paver Blocks stencil and blended Hero Arts Unicorn White pigment ink, Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink and the new Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide ink over it onto Sea Glass cardstock.

I then added the (very old and somewhat goopy-textured) translucent embossing paste - THIS PASTE is a new and available option (that will have a much better texture b/c it won't be way past it's prime like mine was!). Once the paste was applied I sprinkled on Simon's Unicorn ultra fine glitter and Unicorn Confetti - so it's SUPER glittery.

I used CZ Design's Good Cheer stamp and die set combo for the sentiments on the cards. I white heat embossed the sentiments for all the card fronts and die cut the large ones with the coordinating wafer dies and trimmed down the smaller ones with my paper trimmer.

On the insides of the cards I stamped more sentiments from the Good Cheer set using the Candied Apple and Rustic Wilderness Oxide inks and that was it!

Easy Oxide Ink Blending with NEW Rustic Wilderness | AmyR Christmas 2020 Series #9

Hey everyone!! SO - the NEW Tim Holtz Distress color just showed up at my house!!

I of course got them all as I love all the things Distress. You can check it all out HERE <------click!

For today's cards I used JUST the new Rustic Wilderness Oxide ink and paired it with Lucky Clover and Mowed Lawn Oxides to make my cards:

I ink blended the three Oxide colors onto Distress Mixed Media Heavystock and then die cut the pieces using the Trinity Stamps We Wish You a Merry Christmas wafer die.

I did more ink blending on smaller pieces for the star and the trunk. After die cutting everything I die cut more layers from cream card stock and stacked them to give it all some dimension. I adhered it all to Neenah Desert Storm card bases, and of course heavily splattered the cards with Picket Fence Distress paint. I added some Studio Katia Wine Berry pearls as "ornaments".

On the insides of the cards I stamped Trinity Stamps Merry & Bright tree image with the Rustic Wilderness Oxide ink then paired the cards with Schoolhouse Red envelopes and that was it!

Distress Ink & Oxide Snowflake Backgrounds | AmyR Christmas 2020 Series #8

Hello everyone!

Today's cards were supposed to go up earlier this week but technical difficulties took their time (I literally thought I'd lost HALF of the footage for the video - not fun. But it was all fixed in the end!!) but the video is all ready to go!

First off - this week's Color Throwdown Challenge:

Here's what I made:

I started by playing around with Distress Inks and Distress Oxide inks along with Distress Mixed Media Heavystock paper. I usually do ink smooshing on Ranger Distress Watercolor paper but this time I thought I'd experiment with the Heavystock as it has a cream color to it which was perfect for this color challenge PLUS I was just curious to see what sort of results I'd get.

On this background I used both Distress Inks and Distress Oxide inks (all the colors are listed in the supplies below). I used Simon's Prismatic Snowflakes stamp set to white heat emboss the snowflakes all over the background and added a TON of white splatter with Picket Fence Distress Paint as I do for all the things lol!

I die cut the Sophie Snowflake wafer die from some mint card stock to back my Joy Script Dies. It's subtle but I also added some gold thread (I've linked to a couple of options in the supplies) behind the Joy script just to tie in the bits of gold I added to these cards.

The Joy word itself I made by spraying a piece of the Heavystock with Nuvo Sparkle Spray in Amethyst Shimmer. I then foiled a sheet of the Reverse Christmas Sentiment Strips using Gold Deco Foil and my Minc machine.

On the insides of the cards and on the cream envelopes I stamped the snowflakes from the Prismatic Snowflakes set using the same Oxide inks I'd used for the card fronts. I added some more of the foiled Reverse Christmas Sentiment Strips and that was it!

Simon Says Stamp Dec 2020 Card Kit Unboxing + Slimline Card | AmyR Christmas 2020 Series #7

Hello friends!!!

Simon's December 2020 Card Kit: Joyful Season <-----click! is HERE and I lost no time in filming an unboxing video AND making a slimline card with it.

Tim Holtz announced his newest Distress color: Rustic Wilderness 😍😍😍. You can check it all out HERE <------click! I have it all (of course) on it's way to me! You get an EXCLUSIVE mini Rustic Wilderness Distress ink pad in the December 2020 kit (we won't get mini's of the new colors till the 4th new color is released - my guess is in January?).

OK here's the card I made with some of the December 2020 Card Kit elements:

This is a 3.5 x 8.5" slimline card.

I used the Santa paper and the striped paper from the Vintage North Pole papers that come in the kit. I fussy cut around the Santa, and blended on some Schoolhouse Red ink with a blending brush on the striped paper before adhering them together.

I added several of the ephemera elements from the kit and then to complete the sentiment I white heat embossed the "merry" word from the Joyful Season stamp set. I also white heat embossed the candy canes twice and cut those out to add to the card. Of course white splatter had to be added along with some of the velvet trim from the kit.

On the inside of the card I used another sentiment from the Joyful Season set and a couple more ephemera pieces. I paired the card with a Slimline Schoolhouse Red envelope and that was it!

Peace & Snowflakes | AmyR Christmas 2020 Series #6

Hello friends! OK so during my Holly Jolly Release & Review video HERE I mentioned what I planned on doing with the Outline Merry Christmas Background and the Holiday Words Background stamp. Here's what I made:

I heat embossed the Outline Merry Christmas Background and the Holiday Words Background stamps onto Neenah Desert Storm card stock using Tonic's Sportscar Red embossing powder.

I used Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Spray on the background of the cards, and then assembled die cuts using the new CZ Design Peace wafer dies, the Sophie Snowflake wafer die and the Christmas Foliage wafer dies.

On this card with the Outline Merry Christmas Background I ink blended some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink and then added the Tumbled Oxide Distress Oxide Spray. On both cards I splattered Picket Fence white Distress Paint.

On the insides of the cards I stamped the backgrounds with Simon's clear embossing ink, and on the insides and outsides I used sentiments from the Reverse Holiday Sentiment Strips pack. I finished off the cards with a bunch of Studio Katia bling and that was it!

Here's what I made this time:

These are 3.5 x 8.5" slimline cards.

I stamped the images from the Honey Bee Treat Yo Self set onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb card stock with Simon's Intense Black ink and coloured them with Copic markers. I used to coordinating Treat Yo Self wafer dies to die cut all the images, and since I'd stamped and coloured doubles of everything I had enough to make 2 cards.

I used Honey Bee's Mistletoe Slimline Cover Plate die for my backgrounds. I had originally die cut them from Neenah Desert Storm card stock for my previous Honey Bee cards but changed my plans and had these left over. As I didn't want them to go to waste I used them on these cards. I sponged Nuvo Mint Tea Embellishment Mousse on the die cuts to give them some texture and that green tint.

I also used the pine dies from the Lovely Layers: Pinecones wafer die set to tuck in behind all the lattes and whatnot - that was my "ode to Christmas" lol!

For the sentiments I used the Honey Bee Latte Buzzword wafer dies and Honey Bee Buzzword stamp set. I also added some subtle bling with Craft Tacky Glue and Ranger Rock Candy Distress Glitter. It looks like sugar!

I finished off the insides of the cards with more Latte Buzzword die cuts and Latte Buzzword stamped sentiments and paired the cards with Schoolhouse Red Slimline envelopes and that was it!

Easy Snowy Scene Cards w Distress Oxides | AmyR Christmas 2020 Series #4 | MFT Stamps & Die-namics

Hello friends! I meant to get this post and video up sooner but we got a TON of snow over the weekend and it's taken 2 days to shovel it all out so we can get out of the house!

And now for today's cards:

I had SO much fun making these - and they turned out almost exactly how I was picturing them in my head which is always fabulous!

These are 3.5 x 8.5" slimline cards.

I created card bases from Neenah Desert Storm card stock, and then ink blended Speckled Egg, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide inks over them. I LOOOOOVVEEEE blending Distress Oxides over Neenah Desert Storm card stock. They blend so well on it and look SO gorgeous.

I then applied Nuvo Winter White Glacier Paste over the backgrounds using the Simon Says Stamp Large Falling Snow stencil. Another favorite couple of products and another happy dance at the result!

The snow drifts were created with white card stock and My Favorite Things Stitched Slimline Snow Drifts Die-namics. I stacked the layers together on the fronts of the cards and added just one layer to the insides.

All the trees and trunks from the MFT Tree Trio Die-namics were die cut from watercolor paper and then watercolored with my Prima Woodlands palette. After they were adhered to the cards I glued on a bunch of Ranger Mica Flakes to give them that snowy ice crystal look.

I white heat embossed sentiments from the Bitty Holiday Wishes stamp set for the fronts of the card and stamped the Wishing You a Very Merry Christmas with the Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink on the inside and that was it!

OK here are the cards I made:

These are 3.5" by 8.5" slimline cards.

Apologies for the not-so-great pics. My camera was going haywire over the foil accents in the card stock and the reflection was making it difficult to get pics of! I couldn't resist using the card stock though - it's GORGEOUS (and I showed it in depth in the Tonic Rustic Rose Haul I posted the other day HERE).

To start off with I used the new Lovely Layers: Pinecone Honey Cuts Dies to create the pinecones, bows and pine branches. The pine cone layers I due cut from watercolor paper and then watercolored with the Prima Woodlands watercolor palette, and then splattered them with Picket Fence Distress Paint.

I die cut the pink papers from this pack for the bows and for the Merry Buzzword Die set. To complete the sentiment I heat embossed phrases from the Merry Buzzword stamp set using Pearled Pistachio embossing powder.

The background was die cut from Tonic's Rose Gold Blossom Kraft card stock using Honey Bee's Mistletoe Slimline Coverplate Die - then adhered to Kraft card bases.

On the insides of the card I heat embossed more sentiments from the Merry Buzzword stamp set with the Pearled Pistachio embossing powder and that was it!
