Halloween Card Using NON-Halloween Background | AmyR Halloween 2020 Series #2

Yay! Another Halloween card and video! If you missed post #1 I have a link to it below (and I linked to ALL the previous Halloween series in that post!):

For today's card I used a rather NON-Halloween background stamp - in fact it's the same background I used for this card the other day:

Hello Beautiful Card | Prima Watercolors | SSS Spring Flowers Background

Here's how I used it today:

I stamped the Spring Flowers Background onto Distress watercolor paper with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and embossed it with Wow's Clear Matt Dull embossing powder. Once embossed I watercolored the background with Distress inks, and added white and shimmer splatter.

I heat embossed the large Halloween sentiment from the Handlettered Halloween stamp set using Wendy Vecchi's Tiger Lily embossing powder and then die cut it with the coordinating wafer die. The "happy" sentiment is from the All Things Happy Sentiment Strips. I added a few die cut Friendly Ghosts as well.

On the inside of the card I stamped the Spring Flowers Background with Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink. I heat embossed another sentiment from the Handlettered Halloween set using the Tiger Lily embossing powder, and added a couple more Friendly Ghosts and that was it!

Slimline Watermelon Card | SSS August 2020 Card Kit Take 3

Hey everyone!! I have another card and video to share with y'all using elements from Simon's Picnic Parade (Aug 2020) card kit. If you missed my previous posts using the kit you can find them here:

SSS August 2020 Card Kit Unboxing + 2 Slimline Cards!

For today's card I made another slimline card:

This is a 3.5 x 8.5" slimline card.

I used the patterned paper from the Picnic Parade kit and die cut some of them using Simon's Watermelon wafer die set. I pieced the watermelons together and then added Crystal Glaze to the "seeds" and then added Simon's Unicorn Glitter with a Glitter Duster.

I added the little Picnic Parade shape sprinkles from the kit to the watermelon to make it look like they were taking off with all the slices lol. I used more patterned paper to make the "picnic blanket" and then cut up and used the polka dot paper to cover the card base.

I used sentiments from the Hello Sunshine stamp set that comes in the kit and white heat embossed them onto Green Leaf card stock and used them on the outside and inside of the card. I finished off the inside with some of the stickers that come in the kit and paired the card with a Schoolhouse Red Slimline Envelope and that was it!

Strawberry Champagne Embossed & Pastel Watercolored Poppies

Hello everyone! Is this not a FABULOUS inspiration pic and color palette for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge?

You can check out what the rest of the team created HERE <-----click! as well as play along yourself if you'd like!

Here's what I made:

I heat embossed Simon Says Stamp's Poppies Background onto Arches Cold Press watercolor paper using Inkon3's Strawberry Champagne embossing powder. Once embossed I watercolored the background using my Prima Pastel Dreams watercolor palette.

After the image was dry I splattered on some Amsterdam white liquid ink and (of course) some Ranger Perfect Pearl Powder mixed with water for a bunch of shimmer.

I die cut the sentiment using Simon's Thinking of You wafer die and stacked 3 layers together and then blended some Clementine ink over it before adhering it to the background.

On the inside of the card I stamped the Poppies Background using the same Clementine ink and that was it!

Hello Beautiful Card | Prima Watercolors | SSS Spring Flowers Background

Hey everyone! I made this card for last week's Color Throwdown Challenge. You can check out their post HERE for a ton of inspiration with these colors!

I clear heat embossed Simon's Spring Flowers Background after stamping it with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink onto Arches Cold Pressed watercolor paper. I used Prima Watercolors from a couple of different palettes (I linked to the ones I used below) to color in the background.

I of course added splatter with Perfect Pearl powder mixed with water - you can see in the video how shimmery it is!

I used the GinaK SSS exclusive Summer Roses set for the sentiments. Tonic's Golden Sunflower embossing powder was a PERFECT match for this background (I love when that happens!!). I also pulled out my fave Etched Dragonfly wafer die - and painted the bodies with Forever Blue Perfect Pearl powder mixed with water. It's a subtle shimmer - but that's what I wanted since there's a lot going on on this card!

On the inside of the card I used more sentiments from the Summer Roses stamp set with the Golden Sunflower embossing powder and that was it!

Hooray!!! Anyone who knows me or has followed me for a few years knows I LOVE my Halloween card series. I don't know why I love it so much - I literally don't decorate my house or really do anything for Halloween - but Halloween CARDMAKING? LOVE IT. It is SO much fun.

SO MANY VIDEOS. SO MANY HALLOWEEN CARDS. SO. MUCH. FUN.

OK on to the cards:

I have a bunch of the products from My Favorite Things August 2020 release. I LOVE all their Halloween goodies - so I started with the Hey, Ghoul! Die-namics for these cards.

I used their new Rolling Clouds stencil and blended white pigment ink over it on slate card stock. I added a BUNCH of splatter - three different types. I used Grape Fizz Perfect Pearl Powder, Perfect Pearl Powder, and Black Soot Distress Paint. 

I used MFT's Creepy Confections 6x6 papers on the outside and inside of the cards. All the papers as well as the stencilled backgrounds were die cut with the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX wafer dies. I haven't used those in so long and I love the added stitch line on the edges!

Of course what makes these cards extra fun is not only are the ghosts popped up with action wobbles, but they glow in the dark too:

I coated them with Wow's Glow in the Dark embossing powder. People always ask how I get the pics of it in the dark. LOL I literally hold the cards up to a bright light, then go into my closet where there's no windows so it's BLACK in there. I then take a couple of pics with my phone with the flash turned off and that's it.

I did the same stencilling and splatter on the Slate envelopes. On the inside of the cards I added another die cut Hey, Ghoul! ghost and stamped a sentiment from the Sassy Pants Spooktacular set using Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide ink and that was it!

Easy Flip Flops Card | Honey Bee Flip Flop Builder Honey Cuts

Oh I just HAD to create another black, white and gold card:

I've had Honey Bee Stamps Flip Flop Builder just WAITING to be made with. I kept tossing around a bunch of ideas and then realized how much I would love a bunch of black, white and gold flip flops in real life lol! So I made them into a card instead 😉.

I die cut the flip flops from Honey Bee's Back to Basics patterned paper. The strap pieces were die cut from Tonic's Gold Pearl Satin card stock. I added some of Honey Bee's Raw Honey Gem stickers to the one pair and the card base.

Speaking of the card base - I used Honey Bee's Pineapple Lattice Cover Plate Top and Pineapple Lattice Cover Plate Base. I die cut them from white card stock, adhered them together and glued them to my white card base.

I added another pair of flip flops to the inside of the card. On both the outside and inside of the card I gold heat embossed sentiments from the Flippin' Awesome stamp set onto black card stock. I die cut them with the coordinating wafer dies and adhered them with foam squares on the outside and completed the sentiment on the inside. After pairing the card with a black envelope that was it!

Rainbow-Shaped Cards with Patterned Paper & Glitter!

Hey everyone!

OK these cards were FUN to make:

I used Simon Says Stamp's new Rainbow Card wafer dies that were in the Let's Connect release (I did a Release & Review video HERE if you missed it!). It seemed rather fitting to pair them with the Honey Bee Over the Rainbow patterned paper, and I decided since I was die cutting all the pieces anyway to make 5 cards to use up said pieces.

I used Simon's Thinking of You Sentiment Strips for all the cards - I am seriously LOVING all these sentiment strip packs. So many to choose from and I don't have to worry about lining up stamps and then smearing it after lol!

I ALSO pulled out some loose glitter which I haven't used in forever. I have this Studio Katia Sparkle Glitter and Chunky Glitter. I adhered it to the clouds with Tonic Crystal Glaze - and I show in the video what I use when working with loose glitter to contain any mess. You CAN just use glitter card stock instead for the clouds but honestly it's not the same look as this chunky glitter gives!

I finished off the insides of the cards with more Thinking of You Sentiment strips, and a die cut heart using the heart die from the Rainbow Card set and more of the Over the Rainbow patterned paper.

Easy Distress Oxide Stamping with SSS Anna's Flowers | Slimline Card & Envelope

Hello everyone! I hope y'all had a good weekend!

After posting the SSS Let's Connect Release & Review video I made this slimline card using the new Anna's Flowers stamp set:

This is a 3.5 x 8.5" slimline card.

I pulled out a rainbow of Distress Oxide inks (each color I used is linked in the supplies) and stamped some of the florals from the Anna's Flowers set using the inks on Neenah Desert Storm card stock.

I show in the video how I lined up the patterned paper to make one long (and on a diagonal since the paper I was working with wasn't diagonal stripes) piece to mat my card front with. The sentiment is from the Just Because Word Mix 2 stamp set (one of my favorite sentiment sets) and die cut with the Word Mix 2 die.

I stamped the flowers on the inside of the card as well as onto the SSS white slimline envelope. I finished off the inside with another sentiment from the Just Because Word Mix 2 set and that was it!

Not going to do monthly themes for a while. Let's just say sunsets, autumn, and halloween!! I'm going to share them all regardless! ;)

Like I mention in all the Happy Mail Haul videos - I am not strict with the themes. The post can be notoriously slow sometimes especially getting to me here in Canada, so I like to share everything that shows up in my PO Box the previous month regardless! If you ever want to check out previous months Happy Mail Haul videos you can find them all here:

RAK/Happy Mail Hauls

If you want to send ahead and mail cards for multiple themes in the same package I am totally OK with that. It helps if you add a sticky note or something to mark what month each card is for. Please do not send more than 2 cards for each theme (so there are the 3 upcoming months therefore 6 cards in total). I cannot accept large packages/boxes of cards. I don't have anywhere to store large amounts plus it takes up a lot of my time to film/edit/upload these videos and limiting the submissions to 2 per person ensures it's fair for everyone. Thank you for understanding!

If you are interested in donating your cards there are MANY charities and organizations out there. You would need to do your own research to find a cause/group/organization that works for you and what you want to do! Everything from local nursing homes/palliative care units/Ronald McDonald Houses to charities to cards for troops is out there - LOTS to choose from!

Also if you haven't sent in a card before but want to go ahead! I love seeing what y'all are making, and being able to share it with the rest of my audience. We all have to start somewhere ;). Also again there's no need to send gifts or anything like that. I more than appreciate the thought, and I read all the letters I receive (I can't respond to them but I read and keep all of them!).

Summertime BBQ Card | SSS August 2020 Card Kit

Hey everyone! I made another card and video using Simon's August Card Kit. If you missed my unboxing video with slimline cards you can find that here:

For today we're part of a mini hop to share more inspiration using the kit. I'll have links to all the stops on this hop lower down in the post!

I stamped the Summertime BBQ images onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb card stock with Simon's Intense Black ink and then coloured in all the images with Copics and fussy cut them all out.

I pulled out Simon's Grassy Edges wafer die set and used it on the green patterned paper from the kit. The sentiment is from the big Hello Sunshine set that comes in the kit. I added some of the ant and heart Doodlebug Shape Sprinkles as well - they're SO cute.

I finished off the inside of the card with more paper and stickers from the kit, and another sentiment from the Hello Sunshine set. I pulled out a Schoolhouse Red envelope from my stash and stamped the little ant from the Summertime BBQ set in little trails using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and that was it!

All the Feels Card | MFT Peony Perfection | AlteNew Watercolors

Hello everyone! 

Even though last week's Color Throwdown challenge time is up (a new one starts Wednesday!) I still wanted to create with these colors:

I white heat embossed My Favorite Things Peony Perfection stamp onto Ranger Distress watercolor paper and watercolored it with my AlteNew watercolors.

I used MFT's All the Feels Die-namics for the sentiment, and clear heat embossed the Circle Celebration Background onto some Soft Navy card stock.

On the inside of the card and on the Soft Navy envelope I stamped the Peony Perfection with Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide ink. I white heat embossed a sentiment from the Double the Fun stamp set onto the navy card stock, added that to the inside of the card and that was it!

Easy Hot Glimmer Foil Slimline Card | Spellbinders Framed Details Glimmer Hot Foil Plate

Hey everyone! I'm back with some fun foiling using Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System. I have a Spellbinders category HERE <------click! on my blog where I keep all my posts archived so you can check out previous projects including more Glimmer Hot Foil cards.

For today's card I (big surprise) wanted to create a slimline card:

This is a 3.5 x 8.5" slimline card.

I used Spellbinders Framed Details Glimmer Hot foil plates - just the "vine" plate in the set (there's a really nice frame plate as well that's meant for an A2 sized card), and some Prism Glimmer Foil. I foiled my card front twice to get the vines foiled across the entire panel. I blended Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink over it to add some more color. I also used the vines on a teal slimline envelope with the same Prism foil to tie it all together.

I used Silver Glimmer Foil and the thank you sentiment from the Effortless Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil set and die cut it with the coordinating wafer die that comes in the set. I added a companion sentiment using the More Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil set and the Prism foil on black card stock. Pictures just don't do the foil justice - you can see it a lot better in the video!

I kept the inside of the card simple and just added another panel of the mint card stock that I'd blended with the Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink and that was it!

Honey Bee 10K Celebration Hop

Hey everyone! For today's post I'm part of a video hop in pre-celebration of Honey Bee Stamp's YouTube channel passing 10K subscribers (they're SO close - and when they DO pass 10K they'll be doing a $100 gc giveaway!).

I decided to focus on some of the new wafer dies from that release for today's card:

I am in LOVE with the Lovely Layers: Monstera die set. I die cut the layers from Green Leaf and Noble Fir card stocks, and adhered them together with Honey Bee's new liquid glue.

I used the Garden Lattice Cover Plate Base and Garden Lattice Cover Plate Top wafer dies on the card base. I die cut them both from white card stock and glued them together. I then layered them on top of a piece of patterned paper from Honey Bee's Back to Basics  6x6 pack.

The die cut hello is from Honey Bee's Slimline Sentiments Eyelet wafer die set. I used that same die set on my previous Honey Bee card HERE.

On the inside of the card I used the remaining bit of patterned paper and another Monstera die cut. I gold heat embossed a sentiment from the Sea Breeze stamp set onto a piece of black card stock and then die cut it with the coordinating die and that was it!
