OK - so my previous post and video (HERE) used this set, and I mentioned in the video that while creating that card I had the idea for this one:
This is a 3.5 x 8.5" slimline card.
I really wanted to try out a mermaid tail card in my favorite gold, black and white combo - and it worked! I stamped Simon's Out to Sea background onto white card stock using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. I trimmed it out, and used a craft knife to trim slits for the mermaid tails.
I get asked a lot about where to purchase the supplies I use in my videos and blog posts. I list all the supplies I use at the end of my posts (below) or in the description box directly below my video on YouTube.
Compensated affiliate links used when possible at no extra cost to you. Affiliate linking is what keeps my blog and YouTube channel up and running and enables me to work from home and provide for my children! I appreciate your support more than words can say! I occasionally receive product for free from stores/manufacturer with no obligation on my part to use/review - I only use and share what I personally love. Everything else I purchase myself!
On the inside of the card I did a bit of masking and stamped the mermaid tail using Distress Oxide inks (specific colors listed in the supplies below). I stamped the tails on to the white open end slimline envelope too. Once those were stamped this was all done!

I think after I had made the previous card I needed to get a rainbow fix lol!
I used Simon Says Stamp's Spring Flowers 4 stamp set. I bought the coordinating wafer die set for it some time ago and then decided it was high time to pull out the set and ink it up. I like to call what I did here "faux watercolor" as there really is no actual watercoloring or ink blending but that's how it looks in the end.
I white heat embossed ALL the images from the Spring Flowers 4 set onto Arches cold pressed watercolor paper, and then used Inkon3's Atelier inks and a spray bottle.
On the inside of the card I stamped the florals and greenery with the Atelier inks and then stamped another sentiment from the Greetings Mix 1 set with the Bee Sting Yellow Atelier ink. The envelope was made with Trinity Stamps Slimline Envelope Builder wafer die set and some Lawn Fawn 12x12 paper (no longer available - sorry! I do have links to other options in the supplies). And that was it!

I pulled out Simon Says Stamp's Peony Bouquet Background stamp - I JUST showed this in the Crafty Hugs Release & Review video last week. So it was still sitting on my desk and I thought it would be cool to use for this challenge. I was originally going to make an A2 sized card but then of course I started wondering if I could create a slimline version instead so that's what I did.

Hey everyone! I'm currently working through my backlog of videos - getting them edited and getting the voiceovers done in between construction/kids/etc lol!
This card was for last week's Color Throwdown challenge HERE <------click! There's still a little time left to play along if you'd like! A new challenge starts Wednesday!
Here's what I created:
This is a 3.5 x 8.5" slimline card.
I had mentioned in my last video that I would most likely be back to splatter/slimline/bling - and I was right LOL. It's all my favorite.
I created an easy blended background on Simon's 120lb smooth white card stock using Distress Oxide inks. I splattered the background with the Squeezed Lemonade Oxide mixed with water then splattered on Perfect Pearl powder mixed with water.
I then stamped one of the silhouette images from Simon's Wildflowers stamp set over it using Mowed Lawn and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks.

Hey everyone! I'm working on catching up on editing and all the things I put on the back burner while I went through the whole not seeing, getting new glasses etc etc. This card and video being one of those things:
For the first time in a while I made an A2 sized card! I've been SO obsessed with slimline cards the last few months (and I'll still make a bunch of those) but it's nice to jump back and forth between the 2 sizes.
For this card and envelope I used the Simon Says Stamp Chillin' Gnomes stamp and die set. This set is SO cute and I set it aside when it was released as it sold out instantly and then life got in the way. This gnomie eating watermelon is adorable so I designed the card around him.
I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the gnome with Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink and adding another white heat embossed sentiment. I heat embossed another sentiment from the set onto the envelope and then stamped the gnome with Schoolhouse Red ink and that was it!

Yay!! The remaining items from Simon Says Stamp's Crafty Hugs release arrived after a LONG hold up in the postal system (for me personally it seems like postage times are back to somewhat-normal. Maybe a little longer than usual but nothing like the massive backlog that happened at the end of April and into May. I know international (as in outside of the US and Canada) shipping is still probably a lot longer than normal. With less flights and all distribution and supply chains held up right now I don't know when shipping will be back to "normal" speeds). Since I had a lot of requests to still do a Release & Review video PLUS I have a lot to give away - I have that video AND a giveaway!
You can watch the video in HD over on YouTube HERE <-------click!

Hello hello everyone!! SO - Honey Bee Stamps had an AMAZING new (and HUGE) release this month. I'll have a Release & Review video coming this week for it - I was waiting on the stencils and patterned paper (omggggg the patterned paper 😍😍😍) and they're here now so I can get to filming it all to share with you guys!
That said - I have a card and video to share with y'all using some of the new products:
This is a 3.5 x 8.5" slimline card.
Of course I made a slimline card. I am seriously OBSESSED with slimline cards. It's been a really nice break from all the A2 cards I've made for the past 16+ years (which yes there are TONS of card sizes to create, A2 has just been my "go-to" and other sizes didn't really do it for me till I started creating this slimline size). I'm loving making them.
I used sentiments from the Pearfect Sentiments set on the outside and inside of the card. I added a couple more of the peaches and leaves to the inside and that was it!

Hello everyone!! It's been a quiet couple of weeks on my end. I'll copy/paste what I posted on my social media:
"For those wondering where I’ve been - I’d posted on IG (forgot to post here too - sorry!) that my glasses broke a couple+ weeks ago. Bc of COVID etc it took a while to get an eye appointment (haven’t had one in over 7 years - I was waaaaayyyy overdue for that). My prescription changed plus I now have astigmatism in both eyes (and my prescription is different in both eyes as well so I couldn’t get temporary readers as some suggested to me).
There were delays on the glasses, plus me having to switch between NO glasses, temporary daily contacts for astigmatism, reading glasses made for me to work (edit etc) and new proper prescription glasses. Long story short? It’s been a LITERAL headache, I couldn’t see, and adjusting to the new prescription and all the hoops I was jumping through was bringing on a lot of eye fatigue and headaches. Hence the lack of posts and videos Bc I just couldn’t handle it. Chris was helping a TON extra as I can’t drive without glasses, I had so many headaches and it’s just been crazy.
That said - I got my new glasses. The work ones are great - still adjusting to the “everyday” ones and not easily able to switch between them yet. But I can now edit and answer emails and all that jazz. So I’ll have lots of videos coming - just working on the editing!! ❤️"
So there's the story. I'm still adjusting and have SOOOOO much to catch up on (this all being my full-time+ job means "breaks" like this drastically affect my income etc) but I'll get there!

I loved these colors and I LOVE that flower bouquet so I pulled out an oldie-but-goodie favorite set from my stash: Simon Says Stamp's Sketch Ranunculus:
I stamped the ranunculus and leaves on the inside of the card and on the slimline envelope using Distress Oxide inks. I added sentiments from the Beautiful Butterflies set and the last heat embossed vellum butterfly to the inside of the card and that was it!
