NEW Oxide Blend Slimline Card | SSS Wildflowers Stamp Set Take 4

I made another slimline card. It has splatter and bling and holographic dragonfly wings - oh and Distress Oxide ink blending! Woot!

This is a 3.5 x 8.5" slimline card.

I created an ink-blended background on Simon Says Stamp's white card stock using several Distress Oxide inks - including the new Speckled Egg color. LOVE. I don't know why I've been hoarding this new color for the last few weeks. It was high time to break it out and use it!

I of course splattered the background with water and with Perfect Pearl powder mixed with water. I then stamped one of the images from Simon's Wildflowers stamp set onto the background using Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks.

The sentiment is from the Beautiful Butterflies set and I heat embossed it with silver embossing powder onto Soft Navy card stock. The Etched Dragonfly wafer die was die cut from one of Simon's Holographic papers and Soft Navy card stock. The wings look AMAZING in real life - pictures don't do it justice.

I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the Wildflowers image with Speckled Egg, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Oxides. I silver heat embossed another sentiment from the Beautiful Butterflies set and added a matching Soft Navy Slimline envelope and that was it!

Watercolor Rainbow Cards

Hello friends!

So one of my cards is inspired by one cardmaker, and are my own participation in a hop I missed signing up for 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️. Let me explain. Justine Hovey hosted a Papercrafters Unite Against Racism Blog Hop that was a couple of days ago. You can check out her post HERE <-----click! as there's a lot of info and a LOT of links to other participants. I didn't see the sign up until it was too late but I wanted to create these cards and share my post and video.

I saw Laura Bassen's card on Instagram and it just spoke to me. I love everything she posts regardless - she is the QUEEN of color blocking and rainbow and patterns! Plus her videos are hilarious. Anywho - her card was perfection. I have the same stamp set she used (and I've used it a couple of times now in videos) and the sentiment took on a whole new meaning for me. So I put my own spin on it and made these cards:

I die cut 2 sets of rainbows from Ranger watercolor paper with Simon Says Stamp's Build a Rainbow wafer die. These are A2 cards so you can see how large this die is. I show in the video how I taped the pieces so that I could paint all the rainbow stripes in different colors.

I used the Prima Complexion watercolor palette to paint all the skin tones for one card, and the Prima Classics to paint the rainbow colors on the second card. The sentiment is from the Stronger Together stamp set and I stamped that with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.

On the insides of both cards I had die cut the Rainbow Heart wafer die from the same Ranger watercolor paper. I painted the rainbow pieces the same way - and then adhered all of it inside the cards. This way the hearts are inlaid in the card stock and everything is flat on the inside yet there's still space to write.

I finished off the cards with the Love You sentiment from the Stronger Together set and that was it.

Distress Oxide Background Slimline Card | SSS Beautiful Butterflies

Hello everyone!! Stay tuned as I have several posts and videos coming back-to-back! I had some tech/internet/whatever issues the past few days and it's backed up everything.

Anywho - this card was for last week's Color Throwdown Challenge:

You can see what the rest of the team created with these colors HERE <------click! plus there's a ton of inspiration in that post from everyone who played along.

Here's what I made:

This is a 3.5 x 8.5" slimline card.

I created a smooshed-ink background using Distress Oxide inks on Ranger watercolor paper. I haven't done backgrounds like that in a while and EVERY time I revisit it I'm reminded of how fun it is to make!

For the butterflies and sentiments I used the Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Butterflies set. It was a part of their June card kit that sold out before it arrived here - but like I said in the video: the kit and then the coordinating wafer dies that came out in the Send Happiness release arrived within a couple of days of each other. So it was perfect timing in the end lol!

I gold heat embossed one of the butterflies from the set onto vellum then used the coordinating wafer die to cut it out.

On the inside of the card I gold heat embossed another sentiment. I then stamped one of the smaller butterflies from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set all over the inside of the card and on the Audrey Blue Slimline envelope using the same Distress Oxides I used on the card front and that was it!

CZ Design Chunky Flowers Slimline Card & Matching Envelope

OK on to my card:

This is a 3.5 x 8.5" slimline card.

I used several of the new CZ Design products that were in the Send Happiness release to make this card. I started with the Chunky Flowers wafer die and made 3 of those as they lined up almost perfectly on a card of this size. 

The new Chunky Happy wafer die is also a fabulous size for a card size like this and I die cut it from black card stock and vellum, and finished it off with a white heat embossed sentiment from the Happy Days stamp set.

I used the Chunky Flowers stencil on the card base (and the envelope!) and blended 3 different colors of Distress Oxide inks, offsetting the stencil with each color to create this trippy background lol! Of course I added splatter with Ranger Perfect Pearl powder mixed with water and my white Amsterdam ink. 

To finish off the card I used sequins from the Summer Sunset pack - the colors from these sequins are what inspired the color combo for this card and envelope.

On the inside of the card I adhered the outlines that were leftover from the Chunky Flowers I created on the front of the card. I white heat embossed another sentiment from the Happy Days stamp set and that completed the inside.

For the envelope I used one of the new Lemon Chiffon Slimline envelopes and stencilled it just like I did on the card front - splatter and all! And that was it!

Watercolored Diecut Slimline Card with Matching Envelope

Yeah! Simon Says Stamp's NEW June 2020 release - Send Happiness is LIVE HERE <------click! AND I have it in my hands. Funny enough both the Crafty Hugs release and the Send Happiness release arrived within a couple of days of each other. So I do plan on doing Release & Review videos (since there've been several requests for them) on both releases they'll just be out of order. I'm swamped but it's a good thing IMO!

SO - I made a card. A slimline card. With a matching envelope - using one of the NEW slimline envelopes Simon released!! I am so happy about these - and yes I hope there will be a bunch more colors released down the road as that will be fun.

This is a 3.5 x 8.5" slimline card.

I used 3 of the new wafer dies for the focal point on this card: Etched Peony Blossom, Etched Flower Buds and Leafy Branch. I die cut all of them from Distress watercolor paper and then watercolored the florals using my Prima Tropicals watercolor palette. I (of course) added some splatter to the blooms with Ranger Perfect Pearl powder and water.

On the background I used the new In the Round stencil with Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink. I added shimmer as well using the Cosmic Shimmer Opal Blaze polish that came in the July 2020 Card Kit. I ended up adding the Opal Blaze Polish to the Leafy Branch die cut because more is more LOL!

On the outside and inside of the card I used sentiments from the Reverse Happy Sentiment Strips pack. The card was finished off with a matching Soft Navy Slimline Envelope that I sponged the Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink over and Opal Blaze Polish using the In the Round stencil and that was it!

NEW Studio Katia June 2020 Release + Slimline Birthday Card

Hello everyone!! I was invited to join in the blog hop for Studio Katia's June 2020 release!

This release includes 6 New Clear Stamp Sets and 4 Sets of Coordinating Dies, 6 New Stand Alone Creative Dies, 15 New Embellishments and a Studio Katia FIRST 6X6 Paper Set! You all know I love me some Studio Katia BLING - and can you blame me?

That's just the bling portion - the new stamps and wafer dies and PATTERNED PAPER are awesome too.

 

I used the new papers and a couple of the new die sets to make a Slimline birthday card:

 

This is a 3.5 x 8.5" slimline card.

 

I pieced together papers from the Black, White & Rainbow pack (REALLY easy to do) and then die cut them with the new Dotted Slimline - Set 2 wafer dies. I then die cut the words "Happy Birthday" using the new Chunky Alphabet die set.

 

The letters were stacked with 2 layers of white card stock to give them dimension and the top layer was die cut from black glitter card stock to give it a little extra bling. I added a BUNCH of the new Vanilla Luster Fusion Sequins - they're perfect for adding that bling but not distracting from the papers etc!

 

I kept the inside of the card simple and just added more of the new Black, White & Rainbow patterned paper and that was it!

Watercolored Slimline Card | SSS So Beautiful Background

I made another slimline card!

This is a 3.5 x 8.5" slimline card.

I white heat embossed the So Beautiful background stamp from Simon's Crafty Hugs release onto Arches cold press watercolor paper. I then watercolored the panel with Prima's Pastel Dreams watercolors and added a BUNCH of splatter with Ranger Perfect Pearl powder and water and Amsterdam white ink.

I die cut the Script Thanks from some of the new Holographic card stock and some Neenah Desert Storm card stock. The additional sentiment was cut from the CZ Design Reverse Love Sentiment Strips.

On the inside of the card I stamped the So Beautiful background - this time using Simon's Cobblestone ink. I made a coordinating envelope with some patterned paper from my stash and Trinity Stamps Slimline Envelope Builder wafer die set and that was it!

SSS July 2020 Card Kit Unboxing AND Slimline Card with Envelope!

Hey everyone! So YAY - I got Simon Says Stamp's July Card Kit and not only filmed an unboxing but also made a card so I combined it all into one big video. Let me know what y'all prefer - Unboxing Videos that are just that with card videos on their own or combined all-in-one like this? I haven't made up my own mind as to what I prefer and it's all the same amount of work for me regardless LOL!

OK so here's the card I made:

This is a 3.5 x 8.5" Slimline Card.

I inked up the row of houses set from the Home Sweet Home stamp set using Simon's Intense Black ink and then coloured in all the images with Copic markers. I did the same thing with the little plane image and cut that out, then the banner was stamped onto Smoke card stock and cut out as well.

I used the Cosmic Shimmer Opal Blaze Polish that comes in the July Kit and applied it to all the images with my little water brush. I also pulled out some of my Nuvo Crystal Drops from my stash for additional embellishment. 

I stamped the inside of the card with the row of houses image and a sentiment from the Home Sweet Home set. I couldn't resist making a coordinating envelope so I pulled out one of Simon's #10 White envelopes and stamped it with a bunch of the images from the set using various SSS inks (all listed and linked below) and that was it!

Slimline Thank You Card | SSS Work of the Heart

Hello everyone!! So I JUST got the package from SSS with a bunch of the Crafty Hugs release (let me know in the comments if y'all want me to do a Release & Review video on it? Because I'll for sure do one if you guys want to see it!) - so I made another slimline card using a couple of the new-to-me things.

Here's what I made:

This is a 3.5 x 8.5" slimline card.

I used Simon's new Work of the Heart stamp set for this card - I stamped the images onto Neenah Solar White Classic Crest card stock with Simon's Intense Black ink and coloured them in with Copic markers.

I used the new CZ Design Extra Large Thank You wafer dies for the sentiment. After stacking layers with white card stock I used Tonic's Gold Pearl Satin card for the top layer. 

The card front was masked off with painters tape and then I blended Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink over it, added some splatter, and then added some Studio Katia Sky Blue Crystals and Golden Crystals. 

I used a sentiment from the Work of the Heart set on the inside of the card along with the medical chart image. I made a custom envelope with some Doodlebug patterned paper and the Trinity Stamps Slimline Envelope Builder wafer die set and that was it!

MFT Baby Shark Slimline Birthday Card

I made it! I told y'all when I posted my MFT June 2020 Releawse & Review video that I HAD to make a card using the new Baby Shark Die-namics - and that's what I did:

This is a 3.5 x 8.5" slimline card.

I had SO much fun making this - and even tho my kiddo's birthday was actually a couple of months ago it was still fun to show it to him and he loved it.

I die cut the Baby Shark Die-namics from yellow, white and black card stock. Then I used Worn Lipstick Distress Ink to blend onto the inside of the mouth piece before adhering all the pieces together. I used a white Gelly Roll pen to add details and highlights as well.

The letters and number were die cut from the new Summertime Polka Dots 6x6 patterned paper (and backed with white card stock) using the Pumped-Up Alphabet Die-namics and Pumped-Up Numbers Die-namics. I used some of my long-hoarded Doodle Twine (I go on and on about that in the video lol - seriously though I would LOVE to be able to get a ton more of it. I have used and own a ton of different colors, brands, styles of bakers twine and Doodlebug's Doodle Twine is my hands down favorite) on all the balloons and adhered them so that the shark was "holding" them.

The new Ocean Motion Stencil was used to create the background with Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink (which was of course splattered on as well). The Ocean Motion Die-namics cut the top of it perfectly and then was adhered to the card base. I pulled out the Cute Cloud Outlines and used those die cuts for the sky before adhering all the letters and number with Darice Foam Strips.

I added some Studio Katia Iridescent Bubbles and Clear Round Drops to the water just to finish it all off.

On the inside I used the Baby Shark Die-namics again - this time to create Mommy Shark 😉 and added a couple more sentiments that I'd white heat embossed from the Sharky Sentiments set and that was it!

These are 3.5 x 8.5" slimline cards.

After I did my Release & Review video of Honey Bee Stamps 5th Anniversary release I had a lot of people asking if I'd use the Balloon Card Borders die set in a video. So I did, and I made them into slimline cards b/c I'm just having too much fun with them lately.

I also used a bit of Honey Bee's new Birthday Bash 6x6 patterned paper - I literally ordered a second pack to have on hand and I STILL want to hoard it every time I flip through it lol!

The Party Honey Cuts dies were used with the same card stocks I used for the balloons and this time I used all three layers for the sentiment. I then white heat embossed the "Let's" from the coordinating Party stamp set to complete the sentiment.

On the inside of the cards I used another patterned paper from the Birthday Bash pack, and then white heat embossed a sentiment I made using the Birthday stamp set and that was it!

I occasionally receive product for free from stores/manufacturer with no obligation on my part to use/review - I only use and share what I personally love. Everything else I purchase myself!
