No-Line COPIC Coloring with the SSS March 2020 Card Kit

Now onto today's card:

I stamped the image from the Stronger Together stamp set onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb card stock using Inkon3's Fadeout ink. I then coloured it all in with my Copics and added a bit of shading and detail with Polychromos color pencils.

I used the Bold Hello wafer die and stacked it with green card stock and then topped it with a die cut of the glitter paper that comes in the March 2020 Card Kit. I matted the main image with black card stock and also added a piece of the patterned paper from the kit. I couldn't resist adding a little bit of bling using Studio Katia's April Crystals and Radiant Orchid Pearls.

I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the same floral image using Simon's Lavender ink and then stamping a sentiment from the Stronger Together stamp set with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and that was it!

Ink Blended Background | SSS Beautiful Flowers 2 Take 5

Sparkly Easy Messy Watercolor with Atelier Inks | SSS Beautiful Flowers Take 11

So today's card is for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge:

Here's what I made:

I created an ink-blended background using Simon Says Stamp's Watermelon and Blue Jay inks and their colourful blending brushes. After I blended the background I stamped the big floral stamp from the Beautiful Flowers 2 stamp set onto it with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.

I added some white splatter using one of the shimmery watercolors from the Prima Metallic watercolor set. Once it was dry I die cut the panel with one of Simon's A2 Thin Frames wafer dies, and inlaid another frame cut from Neenah Desert Storm card stock.

I finished off the card front with the Bold Thanks wafer die that I cut and stacked from Desert Storm and white card stock.

To finish off the inside of the card I stamped the big floral from Beautiful Flowers 2 with Simon's Khaki ink, and then stamped a sentiment from the Handwritten Love stamp set with the Nocturne ink. I adhered the frame left over from die cutting the front panel and that was it!

Sparkly Easy Messy Watercolor with Atelier Inks | SSS Beautiful Flowers Take 11

Ahhhh still getting caught up eh? After I posted about all my tech issues and having to order a new card reader I'm wading through all the videos I need to upload - this being one of them!

SO - if you weren't aware - I am OBSESSED (still!) with Simon's Beautiful Flowers stamp set. I've done a bunch of videos using it over the past few years (technically it's still available but I noticed as I was doing up my links that it's currently out of stock - sorry! I did link to the 2nd set which funny enough I will be sharing in my next video as soon as I'm done editing it - hopefully to be up tonight!). I white heat embossed the large Beautiful Flowers image onto Distress watercolor paper and then messy watercolored it in with some Inkon3 Atelier Inks. I did a couple of videos already using these inks here:

After colouring everything I also added Inkon3's Liquid Pixie Dust - you can see it in the video how insane it all sparkles.

I die cut the watercolor panel with one of the A2 Thin Frames wafer dies, and also die cut some Neenah Desert Storm card stock with the same die. I inlaid the Desert Storm cardstock frame into the card front (funny enough when I first received the A2 Thin Frames die set I thought "ok this is alright" but didn't think I'd use it THAT often - as usual I proved myself wrong and reach for this set all the time lol).

I also added some tiny bits of bling in the form of Studio Katia Iridescent Tiny Bubbles and Iridescent Butterflies. 

I stamped the inside of the card with the Beautiful Flowers stamp using Simon's Khaki ink, and adhered the little frame from the card front. Both the sentiments on the inside and outside of the card are from the CZ Design Miss You Missy stamp set. After adhering the sentiments that was it!

4 Easy Distress Oxide Heart Cards | SSS Bursting Heart Stencil

Hey everyone!! OK I was going to post another video using the Stronger Together stamp set from Simon's March 2020 card kit (you can see those posts if you scroll down past this one) but thought I'd take a quick pause from that (as I've already posted 2 videos using it!) and share these fun cards:

I pulled out Simon's new Bursting Hearts stencil (this stencil is HUGE - 9x12 - watch the video!) and a full sheet of Simon's 120lb Smooth White card stock. I was inspired by my collection of Nuvo Dream Drops so I went with more pastel-ey colors for these cards and used several Distress Oxide inks over the stencil.

I (of course) added some splatter to the card fronts with a couple of the Distress Oxide inks. I then stamped sentiments from the CZ Design Like You Words stamp set using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. I also used some of the Dream Drops on the cards as they add just a teensy bit of shimmer.

I stencilled the Oxide inks onto the inside of the cards (card bases are Neenah Desert Storm card stock - I LOOOOVVVVEEEE how Oxide inks look on this card stock!), and stamped another sentiment from the Like You Words set.

I also stencilled and splattered some white envelopes to match and made these into a happy little "all occasion" set!

Now for today's cards:

I (shockingly - because I've mentioned many times in the past how little I even think of doing this lol) decided to do some (EASY) no-line colouring with the Stronger Together stamp set. Like I mention in the video this is a great set to experiment with no-line colouring.

I stamped the floral images onto the smooth side of Distress Watercolor card stock using Antique Linen Ditress ink. After stamping I watercolored the flowers and leaves with the watercolor pencils that come in the March card kit. 

For the first card I die cut the sentiment with the Bold Hello wafer die using the purple glitter paper (both in the kit) and stacked it with some Green Apple Card stock from my stash that I die cut 3 more layers from.

On the second card I heat embossed a sentiment from the Stronger Together stamp set using Rangers Liquid Platinum embossing powder.

On the insides of both cards I heat embossed more sentiments from the Stronger Together set with the Liquid Platinum embossing powder. I finished them off by stamping leaf images with Apple Green ink and that was it!

2 Easy Masculine Cards with SSS March 2020 Card Kit

So I'm back with 2 cards using the kit. I had several ideas and wanted to use allllll the stamps in the set - but to start off with I kept things more simple (SO hard for me to do) and made these 2 cards with the kit:

I really loved the long stem and leaves stamp in the Stronger Together stamp set - so I stamped it onto Ranger watercolor paper with Versafine Clair Morning Mist ink. I then used the watercolor pencils that came in the kit to watercolor the leaves and stems.

**side note: I talk about not adding sparkle to these cards in the video. Funny thing is is that I just noticed as I'm typing up the post and have my overhead lights on - there IS some sparkle to these LOL! After making THIS card the other day there was obviously still some sparkle in my water brush. So when I painted these leaves the sparkle transferred and I didn't notice at all. It's SUPER subtle but I'm kind of glad it's there. 😉

I added some Studio Katia Seafoam pearls to the stems (for the "non-bling bling" lols), and die cut the Bold Hello that comes in the March kit from Slate card stock.

I finished off the insides of the cards by stamping the stem image with Simon's Mint ink, and then stamped another sentiment from the Stronger Together stamp set with the Morning Mist ink. I pulled out a couple of Slate envelopes from my stash and stamped the stem onto them with the Morning Mist ink and that was it!

SUPER Sparkly Card | Sketch Tulip Bouquet Take 3

Hey everyone!! I've had SO many tech issues lately, which ended with me needing to order a new SD card reader and wait for it to arrive. I can't upload video/edit/post without it so everything has been frustrating. So that explains why I haven't had any new posts or videos to share with y'all!

Anywho - I'm hoping I'm back on track and can post a bunch of videos back to back again!

I was the host for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge:

Here's what I came up with:

I pulled out Simon Says Stamp's Sketch Tulip Bouquet set and white heat embossed the tulips onto Ranger watercolor card stock. I then pulled out my Karin Brushmarker Pros and a water brush to color them in.

The die cut sentiment is from Simon's Painted Friend wafer die, and I complemented it with a sentiment from the Message for Everyday stamp set.

While watercoloring the tulips I added some Inkon3 Liquid Pixie Dust - you can see better in the video how insanely sparkly the tulips are. Speaking of sparkle: I made a mess of the background so to fix it I covered it by spraying the background with Tonic's Morning Fog Nuvo Sparkle Spray. It is SPARKLY in real life - I bought all the colors of the Tonic Sparkle Sprays a few months ago and they sat in a basket for way too long. I should have pulled them out WAAAAAYYYY before this b/c wow - so pretty in real life! 

I finished off the inside of the card by inking up the tulips stamp with the same Brushmarker Pro colors I used to watercolor the front ones and stamping it. I then stamped a sentiment from the same Sketch Tulip Bouquet stamp set using Hickory Smoke Distress Archival ink and that was it!

Doodlebug Love Notes Haul!

Welp happy belated Valentine's Day lol! I had a headache that lasted for several days (the weather here has fluctuated a LOT in temperature this week and that really seems to bring them on) - thankfully not migraine-level but it was enough that trying to work and edit in front of a computer screen just kept aggravating it. SO frustrating. 

Anywho - of course I had to get the Doodlebug Love Notes collection - and of course I'm posting this AFTER Valentine's Day LOL!

That said - even in my Valentine series I like to make "love" cards more open-ended. I'd rather say it all year long or use "love" cards more for friendship, thank you etc than JUST for Valentine's Day. As usual this is all me justifying posting this late as well as giving myself a reason to maybe use this collection in the future. Since I genuinely just enjoy collecting Doodlebug collections who knows - but maybe I will cut into it soon-sh 😉.

December 2019 & January 2020 Happy Mail Haul | Cards from You!!

Hello everyone!

SO - FINALLY got this video filmed (and checked off my to-do list!). For those that follow the Happy Mail videos regularly I normally film them every month, and I DO try to get them filmed and posted within the first few days of the beginning of each month. That all unravelled back in the fall - but I did the October & November one together, and now have the December & January one together. I'm hoping to be back on track and back to monthly - mostly for those of you that send in cards because I don't want anyone worrying about whether they showed up or not etc!

Like I mention in all the Happy Mail Haul videos - I am not strict with the themes. The post can be notoriously slow sometimes especially getting to me here in Canada, so I like to share everything that shows up in my PO Box the previous month regardless! If you ever want to check out previous months Happy Mail Haul videos you can find them all here:

If you want to send ahead and mail cards for multiple themes in the same package I am totally OK with that. It helps if you add a sticky note or something to mark what month each card is for. Please do not send more than 2 cards for each theme (so there are the 3 upcoming months therefore 6 cards in total). I cannot accept large packages/boxes of cards. I don't have anywhere to store large amounts plus it takes up a lot of my time to film/edit/upload these videos and limiting the submissions to 2 per person ensures it's fair for everyone. Thank you for understanding!

If you are interested in donating your cards there are MANY charities and organizations out there. You would need to do your own research to find a cause/group/organization that works for you and what you want to do! Everything from local nursing homes/palliative care units/Ronald McDonald Houses to charities to cards for troops is out there - LOTS to choose from!

Also if you haven't sent in a card before but want to go ahead! I love seeing what y'all are making, and being able to share it with the rest of my audience. We all have to start somewhere ;). Also again there's no need to send gifts or anything like that. I more than appreciate the thought, and I read all the letters I receive (I can't respond to them but I read and keep all of them!).

Rainbow Fluttering Hearts Cards | Honey Bee Stamps and Inkon3 Atelier Inks

Hey everyone! Earlier this week I had these cards on the Honey Bee Stamps blog and finally got the time to share them with y'all here. 

I created a couple of backgrounds using several Inkon3 Atelier Inks. I know the inks are sold out right now (I have zero control over inventory - I just freelance and create with what I like) but I am sure Inkon3 is working overtime to replenish and restock retailers as they're super popular. I REALLY like these inks so far (I used them HERE for the first time to watercolor) and I'll share more videos using them but I'll wait till they're back in stock so I'm not always teasing everyone with them.

After blending the inks onto white card stock I sprayed the backgrounds with Sheer Shimmer Sparkle spray - you can see it better in the video how SPARKLY they are. I then die cut the backgrounds with Honey Bee Stamps Fluttering Hearts Coverplate wafer die and Fluttering Hearts Pierced Coverplate wafer die. To get multiple backgrounds from those 2 I also die cut white card stock with the same 2 backgrounds and ended up with 3 cards.

For this card I used Honey Bee's XOXO stamp set and coordinating wafer die set.

On card number two I used Honey Bee's Kisses stamp set and coordinating Kisses wafer die set.

Card number three uses Honey Bee's Heart stamp set and coordinating Heart wafer dies.

On all three cards I added Studio Katia April Crystals to add some extra bling, and finished off the insides with more die cut hearts:

Glittery Heart Rose Card with One Nuvo Aqua Flow Pen

Happy Friday!!! I had THE craziest time from getting this video-filmed-to-uploaded-to-editied-to-YouTube. Seriously what a week. Anywho - this week's Color Throwdown challenge is another awesome one:

So here's what I made:

I pulled out Simon's Heart Rose stamp and heat embossed it with Inkon3's Strawberry Champagne embossing powder. I then watercolored it with a Blue Velvet Nuvo Aqua Flow pen and added a bunch of sparkle with the Clear Aqua Shimmer pen.

I used the Blue Blossom 6x6 patterned papers - one side of one of the pink pieces (there's little hearts on it) is layered on the card base. I used the other side of one of the same papers to die cut with the Detailed Leaf Cluster wafer die. I used the Bold Thanks wafer die on Tonic's Burnished Rose card stock (it matches SO well with the Strawberry Champagne embossing powder). 

I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the You Are Background with Sky Blue ink, and then stamped the Heart Rose using the Blue Velvet Aqua Flow pen to ink it up.

Of course I had to make an envelope to go with! I used Simon's A2 V Flap Envelope wafer die on Tonic's Navy Toile luxury embossed card.

Honey Bee Stamps Bee Mine Release & Review!

Hello everyone!! Happy first week of FEBRUARY?!?! I'm not gonna lie I am REALLY glad January is over - it was not a good month for me and I'm hoping we can all move on from it LOL!

Since I was sick and then had a ton of catching up to do - I had the footage for this Honey Bee Stamps Bee Mine release waiting for me to edit. Annnddd..... it was all corrupted 😭. Which meant I had to re-film and edit it all. Not the end of the world just frustrating to lose all the time and work. However, I re-filmed it (apologies if it jumps a bit here and there between takes - lol the kids were all over the place during and I'd stop filming to compliment hair styles or run interference, veto snacks etc etc etc etc), finished editing it and here it is:
