1 Background Stamp 2 Ways | Simon Says Stamp Gerbera Daisy Background

Anywho - after yesterday's cards went up my brain was still swirling with ideas regarding florals and this color scheme so I made a few more cards:

I used Simon Says Stamps Gerbera Daisy background stamp and made several cards stamping it with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink onto white card bases and Delicata Golden Glitz ink on the others. I am in LOVE with how this background looks just stamped and left uncoloured!!

Of course I added splatter to the cards - once you start with the splatter you can never stop. It's been years and I still add splatter to the majority of my cards lol.

The sentiment is from Simon's Daisy Bouquet stamp set. I gold heat embossed it onto black card stock and adhered that to the card with Big Momma Foam Tape. 

I finished off the insides of the cards with a daisy cluster and sentiment from the Daisy Bouquet stamp set. The cards were then paired up with Metallic Gold envelopes and that was it!

Stamp Once and Get Two Cards | SSS Beautiful Flowers Take 9

Hokay - this post is ready to be done! I've been battling crazy lighting conditions (there are forest fires up north because it's SO dry here. The smoke has been coming around and today it was so bad the sun was fully red - it was apocalyptic and crazy!! Scary too...). Then the power went out, so I couldn't finish my editing or anything (and fed the kids PB&J sandwiches for supper as we couldn't cook anything but that made them happy so it was a win lol). Then I had to wait out the noisy dirt bikers to be able to finish my voiceover (there is a huge dirt bike track near here and man does the sound carry - only when I'm doing voiceovers it seems to REALLY pick up of course).

ANYWHO - all those trials and tribulations (I'm being sarcastic FYI - life could be so much worse) and I got it all done:

Simon's Beautiful Flowers stamp set is still my all-time favorite. This is my 9th post and video using it!! 

I wanted to try stamping 2 card fronts with the one large stamp from the set and see if I could end up with 2 cards and only having to stamp once. It worked perfectly! I stamped it onto heavyweight white card stock with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. Then I added black and gold splatter, and a die cut thanks sentiment.

I used Simon's Painted Thanks wafer die for my sentiment, and stacked it using my Xyron X Sticker Maker.

I stamped the insides of the card in the exact same way as the front - except this time I used Delicata Golden Glitz ink. I also used that ink to stamp the floral onto black envelopes to finish everything off!

Tonic Adorables Sloth Card Using Nuvo Alcohol Markers

Hey everyone!! Ahhhhhh it's almost the end of May?!?! What is happening...

Anywho - I made this card with envelope and video using a bunch of Tonic products:

Tonic has a line of stamps and dies called Adorables <------click! and they ARE! I used the Sammy Takes it Easy stamp set for my card. For the colouring I used Tonic's Creative Pens alcohol markers. I KNOW a lot of you will ask me to compare them to Copics but honestly? They're not very similar and I know I'm biased. I have been using Copics for over a decade and have invested HEAVILY into them. They're expensive, and they're great markers. The only complaint I have against Copics is the price.

Now with Tonic's Creative Pens you get 3 in a pack for like 5.99US. They don't have a brush nib (it's a bullet nib and a chisel nib) and they aren't refillable. However for that price you can't really go wrong. They also color really nicely. Colors went down smoothly and they blended well and I was able to achieve a nice texture by dotting them with the bullet tip:

So my initial first impression is I like them! Will they replace my Copics? Nope (I am WAY to invested into those for that to ever happen), but since I'm someone who likes to have tons of colouring options this works for me. Plus me being on the Tonic Social Media Design team means I'm a tad biased towards them too. I gotta be honest on all fronts! They're a really affordable coloring option though and they have a decent range of colors across all the packs and a fraction of the investment (like you can literally get ALL the Nuvo ones for less than what 20 Copic Sketch markers costs lol).

As always tho it's personal preference when it comes to crafty supplies and colouring mediums especially! I like to collect and dabble and use whatever I'm in the mood for - it's one of the big reasons why I love doing what I do. With all the options I've collected over the years for colouring it's practically impossible to ever get bored!

Anywho - back to the card. The white card stock and the mat layer were die cut with the Tonic Mixed Layers Rectangles wafer dies. That set has a BUNCH of dies (already separated!) that alternate smooth edges with scalloped edges which is cool.

To finish off the inside of the card I stamped more of the images with Nuvo Hybrid Inks. I also made an envelope with the Oak Woodgrain Speciality paper and my WeR Memory Keepers Punch board!

Dye Ink Easy Watercolor | Simon Says Stamp Daisy Bouquet

Hey everyone!! OK so I wanted to use some more things from my most recent haul video:

I am SLOWLY pulling things from that haul (well it was multiple orders over the last several months - but all piled up in a basket till I filmed it all LOL) and using them. I used a couple things on yesterday's card here:

I have been itching to use Simon's new Daisy Bouquet stamp set from their latest Celebrate You release. 

I white heat embossed the bouquet onto Bee water-colour paper, and then used three Wendy Vecchi Make Art Dye inks for all my watercoloring. Of course I added a bunch of splatter using my Gansai Tambi Starry Colors watercolors.

I stamped the bouquet onto a coordinating envelope, and added splatter to that too of course. As a final embellishment I added a bunch of the Nuvo Water Droplets gemstones to the card front - LOVE how those look!!

I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the bouquet and a sentiment using the same inks I used on the front and that was it!

Now for a card and envelope using elements from this kit:

I was REALLY inspired by these cards Debby Hughes posted here. I LOVE her work - and stalk her Instagram/blog/Facebook pretty regularly LOL! I've posted many cards in the past inspired by hers over time - and there's always a new one posted by her that I'll be inspired by the next time so I highly recommend following her if you don't already!

Anywho - I used the new Leafy Frames stamp set for my card and did some VERY simple color pencil colouring on the circle frame that I'd stamped onto Neenah Desert Storm card stock with black ink.

I added gold splatter with the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors metallic water-colours, and black splatter with Black Soot Distress Paint. I gold heat embossed the sentiment, as well as the rectangle frame onto the black metallic envelope.

I finished off the inside of the card with a gold embossed sentiment and stamped the rest of the sentiment and the border with black ink and that was it!

Walrus Hugs Card | Simon Says Stamp Picture Book Walrus

Hello everyone!! It was a holiday here on Monday and it's thrown my whole week off (as it tends to do) where I'm thinking one day is another and all that fun stuff. Anywho - this week's Color Throwdown Challenge went up yesterday - and honestly I was drawing a total blank. I sat on it for a bit tho and came up with a really fun card (IMO) using these colors:

I was inspired by the nautical print on the inspiration piece for my card in the end:

I used Simon Says Stamp's Picture Book Walrus wafer die, and die cut it from white card stock then blended on Apricot and Coral Reef SSS dye inks. I used a Black Glaze pen on his eyes and nose, and a white gel pen to add highlights etc.

I used the Punny Animals set for the "walrus" sentiment, and Simon's Painted Hugs wafer die for the die cut sentiment.

I finished off the inside of the card with a sentiment from Simon's Handwritten Love stamp set and some Mini Hearts and that was it!

Beehive Shaped Cards | Honey Bee Stamps

Hey everyone! Yesterday was a holiday here, so between the noise of the kids plus construction going on etc etc getting a voiceover accomplished just didn't happen. Anywho - I got it done this morning so here's my "bee-themed" cards - yesterday was World Bee Day and Honey Bee Stamps was part of a blog hop with a bunch of inspiration for it.

It was only fitting that Honey Bee Stamps was part of this - and it gave me an excuse to pull out some of the "bee-themed" products I have and hadn't had a chance to use yet:

I used Honey Bee's Bee Hive Card dies to make hive shaped cards with little doors that open up to reveal the "inside" of the hive.

I die cut the hive cards from yellow card stock, and then used Distress Inks to blend over the coordinating Bee Hive stencil to create some dimension. I of course added a bunch of splatter while I was at it - as sill as it seems I am LOVING the Distress Oxide Sprays for splatter. Having all the colors (well all the ones available at the moment - there's still a bunch to be released down the road!) for splatter is just FUN for me LOL!

I used the Busy Bees Stamp set and coordinating wafer dies for the little images to decorate the hives. All were stamped onto Neenah Classic Crest 80lb card stock with Simon Says Stamp's Intense Black ink, then coloured in with Copic markers.

After everything was assembled I added Crystal Glaze to all the images, and then used my Glitter Duster (filled with Simon's Unicorn Dust glitter) and dusted glitter over everything. The Glitter Duster basically blows a fine little cloud of glitter over your project - so you need something for it to STICK to - like glue or Glossy Accents/Crystal Glaze etc. 

I finished off the inside of the cards with sentiments from the Hi Honey stamp set stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. I adhered a few more bees and that was it!

Easy Graduation Cards that POP | HoneyBee Stamps

Hello everyone!! Earlier this week I shared these cards over on Honey Bee's blog:

It's the time where so many need graduation cards and Honey Bee's Penny the Platypus set has the perfect grad cap image. So I pulled that out and then pulled out some sentiment wafer dies and the new Radiant Stencil to make some fun grad cards with a POP!

 

I used the Radiant Stencil with Moonstone Glimmer paste and applied it over white, black and gold foil card stocks (as I couldn't decided as usual which one to go with so I did all three LOL!).

I used Honey Bee's Yippee wafer dies, Congrats wafer dies and Hooray for You wafer dies for all the sentiments. All these dies have the word, the outline and a second outline that cuts a piercing detail so I used all three layers for each word.

I gold heat embossed the grad cap from the Penny the Platypus set (I made graduation cards using just this grad cap HERE too!) and then die cut them with the coordinating die set. For the heat embossed sentiments I used Honey Bee's Congrats Grad stamp set.

I finished off the inside of the cards with more sentiments from the Congrats Grad stamp set, added another of the grad caps and that was it!

SSS Dye Ink Blended Backgrounds | Big Birthday Greetings

Hello everyone!! It's almost the weekend (and long weekend holiday here - woot!) and also Day 1 of 2 days of blog hops for Simon Says Stamp's Celebrate You Release! There's giveaway info at the end of the post as well as a coupon code!!

I made 2 rainbow cards with a matching envelope using the new Big Birthday Greetings stamp set. I created blended backgrounds using several Simon Says Stamp dye inks (all the colors used are listed below!) and then white heat embossed the candles and a couple of the sentiments from the stamp set onto the backgrounds.

On the card with the candles I coloured in the candles first with an Aqua Shimmer pen to add some glitter, then amped it up a bit by painting on Perfect Pearls mixed with water. I also used a yellow Copic marker (being careful not to touch the heat embossed image as Copic ink doesn't react well with melted embossing powder and it can wreck the nibs of the markers) to the candle flames just to make them pop a little bit.

I used the Perfect Pearls and water mixture to add splatter to both of the backgrounds as well just for some shimmery splatter.

On the inside of the candle card as well as on the envelope I inked up the candle image with the same inks I used to create the background and stamped them in rainbow order. With the card on the left I used the leftover piece of cardstock from die cutting it with the Rounded Corner Rectangles wafer die. It made this perfect frame and I didn't want to toss it so I adhered it to the inside of the card and added a sentiment from the Big Birthday Greetings set and that was it!

Easy Copic Coloring | SSS Chillin' Frenchies

I combined this challenge's colors with one of the new Celebrate You sets:

This new Chillin' Frenchies set is ADORABLE and was perfect for this color challenge. I stamped the Frenchie dog onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb card stock with Simon's Intense Black ink and coloured him in with Copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to die cut him and the bones I'd stamped and coloured from the set.

The main panel was cut with one of the new Rounded Corner Rectangle wafer dies, and I blended on Broken China Distress ink over the Clouds for Days stencil to create the background.

I finished off the inside of the card with more images and die cuts from the Chillin' Frenchies set and that was it!

Watercolor with Distress Oxide Sprays Take 2 | SSS Sketch Tulip Bouquet

Hey everyone!! So the other day I was using some of the newest Distress Oxide sprays (THIS post if you missed it) and decided to do some watercoloring with them again for today's card. 

I watercolored with Oxide Sprays on a card not too long ago:

And I LOVED how that turned out, and I LOVE that stamp set - so I decided to use it again. Since I was in a bit of a funk and needing to get out of it I also went with last week's Color Throwdown Challenge (that I hadn't done last week thanks to said funk):

Here's what I made:

I white heat embossed Simon Says Stamp's Sketch Tulip Bouquet stamp set onto Distress watercolor paper, then watercolored them with water and 2 Distress Oxide Sprays. I used Abandoned Coral Oxide Spray for the blooms and Mowed Lawn Oxide Spray for the stems and leaves.

I used Tumbled Glass and Broken China Oxide inks on the Kraft card stock background - just blending them with mini ink blending tools. I then added some splatter with Broken China Oxide Spray.

I finished off the inside of the card as well as the envelope by inking up the tulips with Abandoned Coral Oxide ink and Mowed Lawn Oxide ink. The sentiment was stamped with Broken China Oxide ink and that was it!
