Hello everyone!!
I'm the host for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge!
Isn't this combo fun? Check out what the rest of the team created HERE <-------click! and play along if you'd like!
Here's what I made:
I pulled out my all-time-favorite stamp set - Simon Says Stamp's Beautiful Flowers - for my card. I white heat embossed it onto Simon's white card stock, then blended Distress Oxide inks over them. While I do speed up the video while blending honestly this was one of the QUICKEST and easiest blends I think I've ever done. It literally took less than 5 minutes. I started in the middle with the Hickory Smoke Oxide ink, then added Rusty Hinge then the Wilted Violet.
That said - it takes practice. I know I struggled a LOT when I first attempted ink blending. Streaks and blots and impressions from the foams and just an overall frustration with it. The more I did it the more I figured out what does and doesn't work for me. That applies to almost all aspects of everything really - try and try again - PRACTICE 😉😉.
I added some white splatter (of course) and used another oldie-but-goodie favorite of mine for the sentiment - Simon's Painted Friend wafer die. I also added a bunch of Studio Katia's Iridescent Clear Crystals because they looked so perfect on top of that background.
I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the floral cluster with the Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink, and adding sentiments from Simon's Big Thanks Words stamp set. I also white heat embossed the flowers onto a Metallic Orange Peel envelope to tie it all together and that was it!
