Pretzel Birthday Wishes Card

It's Thursday already? I hope everyone in the super cold areas is doing OK and keeping warm! Today was a tad warmer for us here but it's supposed to go back to deep freeze (plus a ton of snow) temps tomorrow and last for who knows how long.

Here's what I made:

I've had the Simon Says Stamp Pretzel wafer die sitting here for MONTHS now - and after using the Fries wafer die on a Valentine's card (you can see that post HERE if you missed it) I decided it was high time to make a pretzel-themed card lol!

I die cut the pretzels, sponged the edges with ink then added little dots of Tonic Nuvo Gloss White Crystal Drops. While the drops were still wet I sprinkled over Rock Candy Distress Glitter to give them a "salt" look.

I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the pretzel images from the I Chews You stamp set (I used that set for the sentiments on the front as well) with Simon's Khaki ink and that was it!

Hello everyone! I hope y'all are keeping warm if any of you are in this cold vortex like we are! SO.COLD. Anywho - Simon's February card kit has been sitting on my desk and I lost no time making a couple of cards with it. If you missed my unboxing video showing this kit you can find that post here:

SSS February 2019 Card Kit Unboxing! | Love Always Kit

I gold heat embossed 2 of the floral images from the Love Always stamp set onto Ivory card stock. My original plan was to stamp and water-colour the images but then decided to use detail gold embossing powder. I LOVE how they look embossed in gold!

I added gold splatter with my Gansai Tambi Starry Nights water-colours, and some black splatter with Black Soot Distress Paint. The sentiments are from the same stamp set and were also gold heat embossed onto Doll Pink and Cotton Candy card stocks.

I kept the insides of the cards simple and gold heat embossed more sentiments from the Love Always stamp set and that was it!

Hello everyone! Welcome to Day 2 of blog hops celebrating Honey Bee's Brie Mine release! If you missed Day 1 you can check that out HERE <--------click! There's also GIVEAWAY info at the end of this post!

I also did a Release & Review video showing all the new products HERE <------click! and made a couple of cards using one of the other sets in the release HERE <------click!

OK now for today's cards:

Isn't this little mouse the cutest thing ever? The Mae the Mouse stamp set has a ton of different images in the set so you can create something for just about any occasion. I decided to use the honey jar image and go with a yellow theme to make a non-traditional Valentine's Day card that could be used as a thank you card or any occasion if you skipped the sentiment on the inside (or changed it up to a different sentiment using the Brie Mine set).

I stamped the mouse and the honey jar onto Bristol Smooth card stock with Versafine Onyx Black ink and then clear heat embossed them before colouring them in with my Arteza Real Brush markers and a water brush. Once dry I added highlights with a white gel pen and then die cut them with their coordinating wafer dies.

The backgrounds were created with one of the Hexi Patterns Background stencils and 2 shades of Distress Oxide Ink. Once the color was stencilled on I used Black Soot Distress Paint to splatter onto the backgrounds.

I finished off the insides of the cards with a little bit more stencilling and sentiments from the Brie Mine set and that was it!

Lawn Fawn I Love You-calyptus | AmyR Valentine 2019 Series #14

Hello everyone!! This week's Color Throwdown Challenge is a good one (they are every week - even when it's a struggle for me sometimes to use the colors I always love doing these challenges):

Here's what I came up with:

I used Lawn Fawn's mini set I Love You(calyptus) along with several other Lawn Fawn stamp and die sets to make my card. 

I stamped the images onto Neenah 80lb Solar White Classic Crest card stock with Ink on 3's Blackout ink, then coloured them in with Copic markers and added white highlights with a gel pen.

The patterned paper is from Lawn Fawn's Perfectly Plaid Chill 6x6 paper pack - loooooovvveee this shade of blue (and funny thing is how I love this shade of blue and yet I rarely use it).

I finished off the inside of the card by combining sentiments from the Happy Happy Happy and Happy Happy Happy Add-on stamp sets and that was it!

OK on to today's card:

I've had this Fries wafer die from Simon Says Stamp for months now - then the other day was looking through my CZ Design sets and noticed the sentiment that said "like French Fries" in the Love You Like set. PERFECT.

I die cut the fries from yellow card stock multiple times, then added SSS Sunshine ink to them with one of my Picket Fence Studios blending brushes. 

I used CZ Design Love You wafer die for the main part of the sentiment, then white heat embossed the stamped sentiment onto black card stock.

I also used some of my DoodleBug patterned paper - this one sheet from the So Much Pun pack is perfect with all of this (and I think was the inspiration behind the Fries wafer die - SSS and DB pair up at times to create some super adorable products). I die cut the paper with a circle wafer die and used that to "frame" the fries.

I finished off the inside of the card with another sentiment from the Love You Like stamp set and that was it!

SSS Beautiful Flowers 2 Take 3 | Thinking of You Blues

Happy weekend everyone! I'm back with another card for last week's Color Throwdown Challenge - if you missed my previous card for it you can find it here:

So after making that one I still couldn't get this color combo out of my head - plus I REALLY wanted to use the jewels I had pulled out and decided against using on the previous card LOL!

To go with the jewels I pulled out one of my favorite sets - Simon Says Stamp's Beautiful Flowers 2:

I white heat embossed the flower stamp onto water-colour paper then used my Prima Classics water-colours and did some messy watercoloring of the images.

I used Simon's Thinking of You wafer dies for the sentiment and added a small sentiment from the Beautiful Flowers 2 stamp set. And of course used a bunch of the Deep Pool and Blueberry jewels from Little Things by Lucy's Cards.

I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the large floral image with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink and then white heat embossed a sentiment from the So Loved stamp set and that was it!

Hello everyone!! I have a combination Valentines/Birthday post for y'all today - using one stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps. Their new Piece of Cake stamp set and dies are fabulous and I couldn't make up my mind which images to use so I used almost all of them and made 2 cards, one birthday-themed and the other more Valentine/love-themed.

OK on to the cards!

I clear heat embossed the images onto watercolor paper after stamping them with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then used Prima's Pastel Dreams watercolor set to color them all in, and once dry added highlights and texture with a white gel pen. I used the coordinating Honey Cuts dies to die cut all the images, and most are adhered to the cards with foam tape.

For the backgrounds I die cut white card stock with the Scallop A2 Honey Cuts dies and masked off the outer perimeter of them. I sponged on some light pink dye inks and then used Tonic's Moonstone Glimmer Paste over the smallest dots in the Honey Bee Polka Dots Background Stencil pack.

On the inside of the cards I used a combination of heat embossed, die cut and stamped sentiments. I had more of the stamped and coloured images left over so I added those to the insides to finish them off!

C9 Monster Love Card | AmyR Valentine 2019 Series #11

Happy Friday!! I've been scrambling all week trying to make something for this week's Color Throwdown challenge - this was one of "those" times where things just weren't working out. However I left it (more than once) and came back to it and ended up making a card I was happy with!

So this was the challenge - I love these colors! You can check out what the rest of the team created HERE <------click! and there's still time to play along if you'd like!

Here's what I made:

I pulled out Concord & 9th's Monster Love stamp set and coordinating dies to make my card. I've been wanting to use these for a while now and thought they'd be fun for a Valentine-themed card!

I stamped the images onto gray card stock with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and coloured them in with color pencils (I used Polychromos but really any color pencil brand will work) before die cutting and assembling.

I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the smaller monster and the "waving" arms with Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink and the sentiment with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink. I finished it off with another sentiment from the Monster Love set and that was it!

Nail Polish Bottle Shaker Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hey everyone!! I made this card a couple weeks ago to send with my Season's Givings prize - and finally got a chance to edit and upload it all for here:

I made a bunch of nail polish bottle shaped cards in the Season's Givings post - and decided to make a card using the dies and turning it into a shaker.

I created a background on the card base using Honey Bee's Polka Dots Background stencils - sponging Milled Lavender Distress ink over one stencil, and applying Moonstone Glimmer paste over another of the stencils.

I created a shaker using the Nail Polish Bottle wafer dies, filling the shaker with Studio Katia Petals in Lavender and Magnolia and Flower Chunky Confetti Glitter. I used Tim Holtz Ideaology Metallic Confections and Metallic Jewels card stock for the "polish" and the lid as well as for the "YOU" die cut.

I finished off the inside of the card with sentiments from the Friends Like You stamp set and that was it!

SO, over the weekend I pulled out all the cute Die-namics and patterned paper and Hershey's nuggets to make some fun little Valentine tags:

These came together so quick and easy! I used My Favorite Things Treat Tags Die-namics for the bases and toppers, and the Nugget Label Window & Frame Die-namics to cut the windows for the nugget pouches and frames.

The Nugget Trio Shaker Pouches are perfect - sized for three Hershey's nuggets and there's grooves in the pouch to keep them in place. I wrapped the nuggets with MFT's Sweet Stack patterned papers - there's a little rectangle die in the Nugget Label Window & Frame Die-namics that cuts the perfect sized label for the nuggets.

I mention it in the video but I'll post it here too. MFT sent me the Hershey's nuggets (along with the Die-namics etc) as they're REALLY hard to find in Canada! Some of the "flavour" (caramel etc) ones can be found here but the regular milk chocolate Hershey's nuggets are almost impossible to find it seems. I've heard people say they've found them at WalMart and Shoppers Drug Mart in the Valentine candy sections - and if I see them I'll let y'all know! And if any of my Canadian peeps find 'em be sure to share where! I looked on Amazon and the price (and the shipping charges! 😱😳) to Canada for them is insane. LOL I'm hoarding my pack of them - I used them for this project and the extras I literally hid as Chris was eyeing them up and I love them too but I want to keep some for future projects!! So funny I'm at war with my chocolate sweet tooth and doing things like this for work lolol!

Anywho - I sandwiched the nuggets and pouches between 2 of the Treat Tags - the back one I die cut with the perforated die from the Nugget Label W & F Die-namics. I stamped the backs of all of them with sentiments and a heart from the Sweet Celebrations stamp set and that was it!

So like I said - I was a bit stumped. I've been very much living for the more "spring/valentine/etc" combos I've been using lately and this one took me a bit longer to figure out what I wanted to created. Funny enough once I came up with this card I have so many ideas for more cards using just black, brown and white lol!

Here's what I created:

I decided to use these colors and still make a Valentine's Day card using Simon Says Stamp's Picture Book Labrador wafer die and Windows to My Heart wafer die. I paired them with CZ Designs Dude wafer die and the CZ Design Simple Sentiments 2 stamp set along with a stamp from the Punny Animals sets (one of my go-to sets now to use with the Picture Book wafer dies).

I added my Gelly Roll Black Glaze pen to the puppy's eyes and nose - it gives it the perfect raised glossy black - subtle but just the right touch IMO!

I finished off the inside of the card with a sentiment from the Love Messages stamp set, and added a heat embossed one from the CZ Simple Sentiments 2 set and that was it!

I used the new Always & Forever stamp set and coordinating dies to create my cards - one as an anniversary card and one as more of a Valentine's Day card.

I created the watercolor backgrounds on Bee Watercolor paper using my Prima Pastel Dreams watercolor set. I also used the watercolors to color in the lightbulbs:

I added Yellow Wink of Stella to the bulbs and Crystal Glaze to the heart enters. 

For the second card I used the new Flourish Background on Simon's Surf Blue card stock and then featured my favorite sentiment from the Always and Forever set on the watercolor panel.

I finished the insides of the cards with more sentiments from the Always and Forever stamp set and that was it!
