SSS Christmas Trees CAS Cards | AmyR 2018 Christmas Card Series #12

Happy Friday!! I have a couple of fun Clean & Simple Christmas cards to share with y'all:

I used the Simon Says Stamp Critter Sweaters stamp set (that I used in my fist video of my series this year - link to that is below) to gold heat emboss onto white card stock.

I then sponged three different shades of Simon dye inks over the gold heat embossed patterns and die cut several Christmas trees from them using the SSS Christmas Trees wafer die set.

I finished off the insides of the cards with another gold heat embossed sentiment and one more tree and that was it!

Hey everyone! I'm back with another card! And if you look close you'll see the big oops I did with it:

Do you see what it is?

How about now:

It's subtle..... I adhered the red heart patterned paper upside down 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ LOL!! 

I COULD try to reposition it - it's all attached with foam tape, and if you use dental floss held taught and wiggle it between the foam tape and the paper you can sometimes get it apart. But then I'd have to do that to all the images and embellishments and sentiment too and I am just going to chalk it up to be being too excited and having too much fun making this card LOL!

I used Simon Says Stamp's Right Meow stamp set - NOT a Christmas set, but with the addition of the Christmas papers (Doodlebug's Christmas Town 6x6) I made it a Christmas card!

I finished off the inside of the card with a sentiment from the Right Meow set, one of the cats in her glorious paper-pieced Christmas sweater, and a heat embossed sentiment from the Tiny Words Christmas stamp set.

Classic & Simple Christmas Cards | AmyR 2018 Christmas Card Series #10

Hello everyone!

This week's Color Throwdown Challenge just went live and I'm the host!

You can check out the challenge and see what the rest of the team created with these colors HERE <-----click! and play along as well if you'd like!

Here's what I created:

I used Simon Says Stamp's new Poinsettia Background stamp and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder onto Smoke Gray and white card stocks.

For the sentiments I used the new Comfort & Joy stamp set and white heat embossed sentiments from it onto vellum and black card stock.

I finished off the insides of the cards by stamping snowflakes from the Comfort & Joy stamp set with Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink and that was it!

Simon Says Stamp Black Friday SALE!

I haven't been feeling well the last few days - so this post is late and I'm more behind (as per usual it seems lol).  However I'm not feeling as crappy as I was (yay!) so I finally got this post done and video edited for y'all!

Pastel, heat embossed, flat sparkly Christmas cards anyone?? I pulled out 4 different Simon Says Stamp background stamps and heat embossed each one using a different color of Tonic's Nuvo embossing powder onto SSS's Fog card stock.

After they were all embossed I die cut them with Simon's largest Stitched Rectangle wafer die, and adhered them to white card bases.

I die cut the Happy Christmas sentiments from white card stock, then pressed them into clear embossing ink and added the Nuvo Shimmering Pearl embossing powder to them. It gives them a little bit of sparkle - but of course I had to bling 'em up even more and added some Studio Katia sequins and ice crystals (finally used those - I've been hoarding them for a while lol).

All the little sentiments on the outside and insides of the cards are from Simon's Tiny Words Christmas stamp set. I stamped them all onto white and Fog card stock then die cut them with Simon's Sentiment Label wafer dies before adhering them all on/in the cards. 

I'm excited to be a Guest Designer this month for Tonic as they celebrate Nuvember!! I'll have a few posts throughout the month along with a bunch of other fabulous designers showcasing a bunch of Tonic's Nuvo line. Easy Galaxy Background Shaker Cards | AmyR 2018 Christmas Card Series #8

Hello everyone! I hope y'all have had a good weekend! 

I pulled out PinkFresh Studio's Cityscape Wafer Die and Home For the Holidays stamp set to make a couple of galaxy background shaker cards. These came together SO quick and easy - I like not having to think too much sometimes when I'm making a card - and major bonus if it involves things like shaker elements etc!

I used PinkFresh's Liquid Watercolors to paint the backgrounds as well as to paint the stamped scenes on both cards. I then used white gouache and splattered it liberally on both the background (for the "galaxy look") and onto the card front for "snow".

On the inside of both cards I stamped another sentiment from the Home For the Holidays stamp set and then stamped the buildings and the snowflakes with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink and that finished them off!

Now back to the cards:

For my first card I sponged Distress Inks over the stencil, and then die cut and stacked the Holly Jolly sentiment and stamped the rest with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

For the remaining three cards I applied Tonic's Nuvo Glimmer Paste over the stencil onto Tonic's Mirror (aka foil) card stocks - the end result is SOOOOO pretty!!

For all the sentiments I'd die cut and stacked sentiments from Honey Bee's Fa La La wafer dies. I ran all the card stock (and glitter paper in the first card) through my little Xyron Sticker Maker, peeled the backing off and then stacked them to 3 layers for the depth and dimension. Then I simply peeled off the backing on the bottom layer and stuck them to the cards.

I finished off all the cards with crystals from Studio Katia - I am obsessed with the July pack especially as they're perfect for Christmas cards!!

I finished off the insides of the cards with Honey Bee's Merry & Bright stamp set and that was it!

Here's what I came up with:

I pulled out Simon Says Stamp's Felicity Snowflake wafer die, and after die cutting it from Simon's 120lb card stock I coated it with Tonic Nuvo glue and then covered it with Clear Rock Candy Distress Glitter.

I used Simon's Polar Bear Picture Book die as my main character, and then a combination of the CZ Design Merry Die, Ornamental stamp set and SSS Punny Animals stamp set for my sentiments.

I finished off the inside of the card with sentiments from the CZ Design Ornamental stamp set and that was it!

Christmas Cocktail Shaker Cards | AmyR 2018 Christmas Card Series #5

Hello everyone!!

My Favorite Things November 2018 release just went live - SO much fun stamps and dies!!! You can check them all out HERE <-------click! And I will hopefully get a Release & Review video filmed and posted ASAP with my thoughts on it all too!

So MFT asked me to join their MFT & Friends feature this month so of course I said yes!! You can check out their blog post HERE <------click! with the info as well as for the links to all the other amazing designers sharing inspiration with this release!

I kind of have a palm to forehead 🤦🏻‍♀️ moment for my cards - b/c with ALL these new stamps and die-namics released ONE stamp set and ONE stamp in particular caught my eye. I have a ton of ideas for all the other products - but that one sentiment got the wheels turning and I just HAD to make it into cards. So while these cards feature one of the new sets from the release - everything else is from previous MFT releases (links to all of it at the end of the post!). 

Those that know me know I am a rather sarcastic person with a pretty twisted sense of humour LOL! So when I come across sarcastic or tongue-in-cheek stamps or anything "twisted" I am ALLLLL over it. It just gives me a giggle. So of course the new Sassy Pants Holiday sentiment set was right up my alley! 

Don't get me wrong - I love me all kinds of traditional and thoughtful stamps for Christmas/holiday cards. But it's so fun to be able to mix things up and go very UNtraditional sometimes - and that's what I did here.

The second I saw the "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Cocktails" sentiment I KNEW I needed to pull out my MFT Margarita and Martini Shaker Card Window and Frames Die-namics. I wanted to create a winter scene for each card and then add the drink to each.

I decided to do them in different color combos just to have more fun with it - so blues and silver with the martini glass and pinks/corals and gold with the margarita. I used MFT's coordinating shaker pouches - and in the video I show how I backed them with acetate and made them into transparent shakers, which I filled with MFT's Frosty Ice Cubes and some silver and gold seed beads.

I finished off the insides of the cards with another sentiment from the Sassy Pants Holiday stamp set - another one that made me giggle.

Customized Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel Card | Pizza My Heart

I finally did it!! I stopped hoarding my Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel dies and actually USED them (y'all can pick your jaws up off the floor...):

And not only did I use the Reveal Wheel - I customized it while I was at it.

Chris's birthday was earlier this week and I decided to make him a Pizza-themed card - then had the idea to use the Reveal Wheel so that one of the slices could show different faces and toppings.

I stamped the images from Lawn Fawn's Pizza My Heart set onto Neenah Classic Crest 80lb Solar White card stock with GinaK Amalgam ink and coloured them in with Copics.

On the actual reveal wheel I inked on a couple of Lawn Fawn Dye inks (Butter and Sunflower) rather than do all the colouring with Copics. I used the Picket Fence blending brush for the inks then stamped the toppings like I did with all the other pieces and pizza's.

On the inside of the card I stamped another sentiment from the Pizza My Heart stamp set and then added the heart shaped pizza and stamped the little swirly steam image from the set and that was it!

I'm back with another video for my Christmas card series - this time I made 6 cards with minimal supplies!!

OK now on to today's cards:

I pulled out several of the Suzy's Snowmen paintable prints from SSS, and before I got to painting them I masked off a lot of the details with Nuvo's Masking Fluid.

Masking off some of the smaller details - the falling snow, ornaments, fine lines etc etc made it a LOT easier to watercolor the backgrounds and all the other areas around those details.

I kept the watercoloring simple as well - using one palette (Prima Tropicals), my Nuvo brushes, and then adding "snow" AKA white splatter at the end.

After everything was done and dry I die cut all the panels with either the largest Simon Wonky Rectangles wafer dies or larges Stitched Rectangles dies and then mounted them with foam tape onto top folding A2 card bases and that was it!

I'm excited to be a Guest Designer this month for Tonic as they celebrate Nuvember!!
