Happy weekend!! I made several backgrounds using the Glazed Distress Oxide technique - if you missed my last post showing this you can check it out here:
Glazed Distress Oxide Backgrounds + SSS Good Vibes Blog Hop + Giveaway!
I was inspired by this awesome post by Gayatri. She made some great backgrounds using alcohol inks and I just loved her cards. I hadn't used Simon's Under the Sea Animals set and her entire post made me sit down and start creating!
I used several different Distress Oxide inks and Ranger Glossy cardstock along with Distress Micro Glaze to create all my backgrounds. Some I did the "ink smooshing" technique on an a couple I painted on the Oxides with a paint brush to get a different look.
I added jewels in colors that went with the creatures I used on each card, adhering them with Simon's Craft Tacky glue.
I stamped all the images from the Under the Sea Animals stamp set onto Neenah 80lb Classic Crest Solar White cardstock with Simon's Intense Black ink and coloured them in with Copics. I used a white gel pen to add all the little details and highlights, then die cut them all with the coordinating wafer dies.
I finished off the insides of all the cards with one of the creatures that was on the front of each card and that was it!
