SSS Abstract Triangles | Mission Gold Watercolor | AmyR 2018 Father's Day Series #1

Hello everyone!

So facepalm 🤦🏻‍♀️moment for me with this card - for the life of me I thought the stamp set I used (SSS I See You) was still available - and it's not. I've linked to another great set (the Messages for Everyday stamp set - that was in the Fluttering By release - which STILL hasn't shown up - Canada Post lost the package and I'm still trying to find out what happened to it!!) and a heart die that I would use to finish off the inside. Rather than re-make and re-film the card I thought I'd include the alternate options and hope y'all understand!

It is SO hard to get a good picture when there's something foiled/metallic etc on a card! The large die-cut DAD has gold satin foil card stock as the top layer - it looks a lot more "normal" in the closeup pic.

I used SSS's Abstract Triangles Background stamp on water-colour paper - gold heat embossing it first. I then used my Mission Gold water-colours - but only the black water-colour. You could use Black Soot Distress Ink to get a similar look - or any black water-colour really.

I heat embossed a sentiment (from the discontinued I See You set - the alternate set I recommend that's available has plenty to choose from!) - you could go more traditional and use a "Happy Father's Day" sentiment but I thought it would be nice to go with something different for this card.

I used the I See You set to finish the inside of the card - I suggested a heart wafer die in the supplies as an alternate. I would either die cut SSS Stone card stock, or water-colour paper that I'd paint the stripes with the black water-colour (painting them in different shades to mimic the front of the card!) and then add another heat embossed sentiment from the Messages for Everyday stamp set and call it a day.

Studio Katia Spring Bouquet | Arteza Real Brush Pens | AmyR 2018 Mother's Day Series #9

Hello everyone! I got my card made for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge:

I decided to create one more Mother's Day card:

I pulled out Studio Katia's Spring Bouquet stamp set and white heat embossed it onto Arteza water-colour paper. I then used Arteza Real Brush Pens and a waterbrush to colour them in.

I used Studio Katia's Best Ever stamp set and coordinating die set to create the sentiment, and of course embellished with a bunch of Studio Katia jewels 💎.

I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the flower cluster with yellow ink and the sentiment with grey ink and that was it!

MFT Glitter Foiled Butterflies Card Set

Hello everyone! I hope y'all are in for a long video as this one's close to 25 minutes! What started out as an idea to make one or two cards turned into 8 - not bad considering I only used a few sheets of 6x6 patterned paper and a bunch of card stock scraps!

I pulled out the MFT Stitched Hexagon STAX Die-namics and cut out a bunch of patterned papers from the Patio Party 6x6 patterned paper pack that I'd shown in my Patterned Paper Haul video <-----click! to watch that if you missed it!

Now I've been pretty open about the fact that I tend to hoard patterned paper - I honestly just love having it and will flip through it and be inspired by the colors/textures/patterns etc and more often than not will make cards that don't use any papers but were inspired by one. However I do enjoy using it too so that's what I did for this set.

I combined the Hexagon STAX and the papers as well as a bunch of card stock scraps and ran them through my Gemini Junior machine. To create the butterflies I pulled out the MFT Flutter of Butterflies Die-namics in both the Lace and Solid sets. Those die cut from glitter card stock and a satin foil card stock made a GORGEOUS combination!

I used a bunch of different MFT stamp sets and coordinating sentiment Die-namics sets for all of these - I decided to make then all for a variety of occasions.

All of the sentiments were die cut from the same satin foil card stock, and then the coordinating stamped sentiments were white heat embossed onto black card stock.

I used several different colors of Nuvo Gloss and Glitter drops to embellish all the cards - and made sure to set them all aside to let them dry for a full 24 hours before I touched and smeared them (I'm getting so much better at leaving them alone LOL!).

I finished off the insides of all the cards with more sentiments from the coordinating stamp sets used on the fronts and added a bunch of the die cut hexagons and that was it!

WaffleFlower Rainbow Carnations Card

Hello everyone! Waffle Flower just had a new release for May which you can check out HERE <----click! and I'm part of a blog hop today to celebrate it! Stay tuned for the GIVEAWAY info as well!

Here's what I created:

I am really falling in love with all of Waffle Flowers quirky sets - but the second I saw this new Carnations set I KNEW I had to ink it up first. I have a thing for carnations - I just really like them!

The Carnations set is actually a layering set - it includes all the images to stamp in different ink colors to get a really quick and easy layered look. I'll have to play around with that next time I use this set (and the stamps are all labelled and there's a chart showing how to layer it all making it quick and easy to do).

Instead I white heat embossed the outline images of the set onto watercolor paper, and then pulled out the new-to-me and new-on-the-market Arteza 96 set of Real Brush Pens (b/c y'all KNOW I was holding out for the big set!).

I scribbled on the marker color on the images, then moved the color around with a water brush. First impression of the markers is I really like them and the colors - a  more detailed video about them will be coming soon!

After I coloured in all the flowers I die cut them with the coordinating dies, and decided to cluster them all together into a bouquet for the front of my card. I used a stencil from Echo Park on my card base and spread Nuvo's Moonstone Glimmer paste over it (SO sparkly in real life!), then once dry I adhered all the flowers to it with liquid adhesive and foam tape.

The sentiments are from the Carnations set and I stamped them with black ink and adhered them with foam tape.

I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the images with dye inks and that was it!

Honey Bee Stamps My Tribe Card Set

Hello everyone! Honey Bee had a HUGE Spring Release this week (I'll have a Release & Review video coming ASAP) and I couldn't resist diving in to the new My Tribe stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts Dies right off the bat:

What I originally intended to create was ONE card, maybe 2, using the images with some heat embossing and some messy watercolor. That morphed into this 4 card set with a clean and simple look using metallic embossing powder and pops of glitter paper LOL!

I heat embossed all the images from the My Tribe set using SSS's Antique Gold embossing powder onto both white and black card stocks. I used the coordinating dies to cut them all out, then paired them with SSS's Copper glitter paper and MFT's Black & White Stripes patterned paper.

I finished off the insides of the cards with sentiments from the sets and the remaining heat embossed images and that was it!

I delved into a random quick discussion about liquid adhesives and all the ones I use - here's the links as promised!

 

(OK this is a copy/paste from last month's Happy Mail Haul post - just some important info!!)

Like I mention in all the Happy Mail Haul videos - I am not strict with the themes.. The post can be notoriously slow especially getting to me here in Canada, so I like to share everything that shows up in my PO Box the previous month regardless! If you ever want to check out previous months Happy Mail Haul videos you can find them all here:

RAK/Happy Mail Hauls

If you want to send ahead and mail cards for multiple themes in the same package I am totally OK with that. It helps if you add a sticky note or something to mark what month each card is for. Please do not send more than 2 cards for each theme (so there are the 3 upcoming months therefore 6 cards in total). I cannot accept large packages/boxes of cards. I don't have anywhere to store large amounts plus it takes up a lot of my time to film/edit/upload these videos and limiting the submissions to 2 per person ensures it's fair for everyone. Thank you for understanding!

If you are interested in donating your cards there are MANY charities and organizations out there. You would need to do your own research to find a cause/group/organization that works for you and what you want to do! Everything from local nursing homes/palliative care units/Ronald McDonald Houses to charities to cards for troops is out there - LOTS to choose from!

Also if you haven't sent in a card before but want to go ahead! I love seeing what y'all are making, and being able to share it with the rest of my audience. We all have to start somewhere ;). Also again there's no need to send gifts or anything like that. I more than appreciate the thought, and I read all the letters I receive (I can't respond to them but I read and keep all of them!).

AlteNew Peony Spray | AmyR Sympathy Card Series 2

Hey everyone! I'm hostess over on this week's Color Throwdown Challenge!

Here's what I created:

I need to create more cards and video for my Sympathy Card Series, so I pulled out the Simon Says Stamp Here For You wafer die set and the AlteNew Peony Spray stamp and coordinating wafer die.

I used My Favorite Things Framework stencil and white embossing paste on the background. I then white heat embossed the peony images onto Distress Watercolor paper and coloured them in with Distress Inks and a water brush. I ran black card stock through my Xyron Sticker Maker and die cut it 3 times with the SSS Here For You die and stacked them together before adhering them to my card.

I finished off the inside of the card by inking up the peony stamp with the same Distress inks I used on the front of the card, then inked up a sentiment from the Peony Spray set with black ink and that was it!

Waffle Flower Rainbow Shaker Card | AmyR 2018 Mother's Day Series #8

Hello everyone! It's May!!!

I'm still adding cards to my Mother's Day series. This one like several of the others I've cone this year is again more "non-traditional" - I know that Mother's Day can and is really hard for some - for so many different reasons. I've been trying harder lately to incorporate ideas for cards that aren't specific and geared towards one specific thing (while I know we can take inspiration from anything and turn it to any occasion - I still like to make non-traditional and think out of the box as much as I can) not only because of this but because it's nice to create cards to have on hand that can be thoughtful and used all-year-round and for many different people in our lives. I also wanted to add huge (((((hugs))))) for those that struggle with Mother's Day ❤️❤️❤️.

I literally have a million things on my plate at the moment, and piles of things on my desk (and all the surrounding surfaces and floor - some days it almost nearly resembles a scene from Hoarders.......kidding - not really!) for future projects and hauls and giveaways and all sorts of fun things. One of those piles was the Waffle Flower Rainbows stamps and dies and these Lucy's Rainbow Bright Jewels. I've been wanting to make a shaker card with them since they got here and finally scratched that off my "to-make" list:

I like stamps and dies that work together and take all the guesswork out of everything - which is exactly what these stamps and dies do. You don't HAVE to create a shaker card with them - but that frame in the die set just makes it easy to so of course I did!

I die cut everything from Bristol Smooth card stock and used Distress Inks and a water brush to color them in. The card base was also Bristol Smooth and I sponged on my "go-to" sky combo for Distress Inks - Tumbled Glass and Broken China. The jewels that I used for the shaker and to embellish the rainbow are from the Lucy's Diamonds - Rainbow Bright Mix. They're literally diamond shaped instead of the usual flat-backed rhinestones that we're used to. I've been hoarding them for a while with the intention to use them for cards like this - it's like they were meant to go together ;).

I finished off the inside of the card with a sentiment from the Waffle Flower Rainbows stamp set and a little die cut rainbow and that was it!
