I wanted to create a non "themed" Father's Day card (as I know that sometimes masculine and especially Father's Day cards can be so difficult to make at times) - so I pulled out my Simon Says Stamp Mom and Dad Icons stamp set and Big Dad wafer die and made a couple of cards with them.
I stamped the DAD from the Mom and Dad Icons set multiple times on my card bases using SSS Fog Ink. I then added the Love You and heart stamp from the set just to fill in some of the areas.
The DAD was die cut from SSS Sunshine card stock and sponged with Sunshine ink then adhered with foam tape. I added white heat embossed sentiments from the Mom and Dad Icons set, and several Nuvo Crystal drops in complimentary colors.
I added white heat embossed sentiment strips to the insides of the cards and paired them with SSS Soft Navy envelopes and that was it!

I get asked a lot about where to purchase the supplies I use in my videos and blog posts. I list all the supplies I use at the end of my posts (below) or in the description box directly below my video on YouTube. If the products have little icons below the image it means there's more than one place it can be purchased. You can hover over the icons and it will tell you what store that link will take you to. Compensated affiliate links used when possible at no extra cost to you. Affiliate linking is what keeps my blog and YouTube channel up and running and enables me to work from home with my kids! I appreciate your support more than words can say!

Hello everyone! Well I have been meaning and meaning to participate in the Spring & Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop since last week - finally getting a couple of cards up today!
Since I've also been meaning to post more Father's Day cards I decided to combine the themes and make coffee-themed Father's Day cards:
I used several Honey Bee Stamps products to make these - starting with their Coffee Lovers Background stencil. I sponged 3 different shades of Distress Ink onto my Kraft card stock card base, then used Distress Inks to watercolor in the coffee cups.
I used Nuvo Drops to embellish the cards and added Crystal Glaze to the coffee cup and to the die cut "father's".
I finished off the insides of the cards by stamping sentiments from the Best Parents stamp set with 2 of the Distress Inks and that was it!

Oh it's been the Monday-est of Mondays (for those wondering it's not a holiday here - I'm Canadian. Memorial Day is today for all my US friends - for Canadians we have Remembrance Day November 11 where we honour our veterans and troops (tho they deserve recognition and honour 24/7/365 in my opinion)).
Anywho - it's been a crazy Monday but I was finally able to get this video edited and uploaded to share with y'all. I actually have been meaning to make a bunch of coffee-themed projects as the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop started on Friday and only lasts a week - but of course I'm so behind on everything. Stay tuned though as I have a really long video coming with a giveaway too...... 😉😉
So Kristina Werner posted a card and video a few weeks ago where she used a stencil with glitter pastes over foil/mirror card stock. I just LOVED it (I love everything she creates) and I've been wanting to have a go at that ever since. I recently got my hands on a bunch of Tonic's Mirror card stocks (heaven!!) so I pulled out 3 of them along with 3 of Tonic's Glimmer Pastes and combined them with some of Simon Says Stamp's stencils and stamps and dies.
I die cut the Big Thanks word from white card stock that I backed with vellum, and added Crystal Glaze to to give it some dimension and shine. The sentiments are from SSS's Thanks Words stamp set and I white heat embossed those onto black card stock.
As a final embellishment I added a few Studio Katia Iridescent Clear Crystals that I adhered with dabs of Ranger's Multi Medium Matte adhesive.
I finished off the insides of the cards by stamping the big thanks word with various SSS inks and that was it!

What are your favourite items from this release? I obviously love the new Lovely Blooms stamps but the other stamp sets are all so much fun - the theme of them and the style is beyond adorable. And one can never have too many Studio Katia sequins/confetti/jewels - my magpie tendencies go into overdrive with all of them!!

Hello everyone!! I'm SO excited to be participating in Day 1 of 2 days of hops for Studio Katia's May release and to celebrate their second anniversary! Stay tuned throughout the post as there's hop info and links and giveaway info at the end as well!
So the May release just went live and it is fabulous:
I wanted to play with EVERYTHING right off the bat - but the new Lovely Blooms stamp set was beckoning LOL! Rather than just make one card I decided to make a bunch all at once and use my Nuvo Shimmer Powders some more:
I heat embossed the large floral cluster with white embossing powder onto Canson XL watercolor paper. I then sprinkled on the powders and sprayed with water. Every single one turned out completely different and I just love the randomness of all of them!
For these first 2 cards I ended up fussy cutting around 2 of the clusters. On my white card stock bases I used the new Brush Stroke Waves Stencil and Nuvo Moonstone Glitter paste. After that was all dry I adhered the floral cluster and the heat embossed sentiment with SSS foam tape. I finished off the insides of the cards by stamping the flowers with Distress Oxide inks and the sentiment in black.
For my next 2 cards I die cut the dry panels with a large stitched rectangle die and adhered with the foam tape to my card bases. I used 2 of the new monthly Studio Katia Crystals sets to embellish (she releases a new color collection each month! I can't wait to see what they are each month - these crystal packs are GORGEOUS) my cards. The die cut "thanks" is from the Giving Thanks coordinating die set - I used white glitter paper and vellum for the thanks and white heat embossed the "so much!" onto black card stock.
My last 2 cards are similar to the previous 2 - I just adhered them to the card bases in portrait orientation and added a different heat embossed sentiment.
I was somewhat able to capture the shimmer of the powders - in real life you can see the shimmer and sparkle better! Also note - people have been commenting about having difficulties with these shimmer powders and them "not sticking" to the paper or rubbing off after. Make sure you're using enough water! If any of the powder is left unactivated with water - it WILL come off/not stick (it's just powder after all). It's why I'm rather heavy handed with the water when using these - I've had no issues with any of it coming off after!

I've been wanting to use Waffle Flower's Always stamp set for a while now, and decided to try my hand at some "no line" watercolor. Except I don't have the time/patience for that - so this is more of a "faux no-line" watercolor LOL!
I stamped the images with Ink on 3's Fadeout ink, then used my Arteza Real Brush Pens and a water brush to color it all in. I ended up outlining all the images with Arteza Fineliner Pens in similar colors as I liked how that looked and gave some of the definition back.
I used Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide for the background, and embellished with Studio Katia Snow and Iridescent Crystals.
I finished off the inside of the card by stamping a sentiment and the bird from the Always set with SSS Slate and Blue Jay inks and that was it!

Ahhhhh nothing like racing to finish editing and voicing-over a video while a thunderstorm rolls in and before the kids (and the noise!) wake up!
It was a long weekend and a holiday here yesterday - so today definitely feels like a Monday.
I wanted to create more with the Beautiful Flowers stamp set that came in the SSS June 2018 card kit (as predicted the kit sold out REALLY fast - the stamp set and everything are available separately though and I'll have links at the end as usual). I've had a lot on my plate lately and missed getting this video edited for last week's Color Throwdown challenge:
You can still check out what the rest of the team created HERE <------click! as well as check out the gallery of cards that were made by those playing along - always great inspiration! There will be a new Color Throwdown challenge up tomorrow as well!
I also wanted to play around some more with the Tonic Nuvo Shimmer Powders - so that's what I did. I white heat embossed the large floral image from the Beautiful Flowers stamp set onto Canson XL watercolor paper then sprinkled on 3 different colors of the Shimmer Powders before spraying with water.
I moved the color around a bit with my finger (It WILL stain your skin just fyi) just to fill in some of the flowers and leaves, and then sped up the drying with my heat tool.
I die cut the panel once it was dry with the largest of Simon's Wonky Rectangles wafer dies, and heat embossed sentiments from the Beautiful Flowers stamp set onto scraps of Audrey Blue and Green Apple card stocks. I finished it off with white pearls and adhered the panel to my card base with foam tape.
I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the sentiment with SSS's Green Apple ink then stamping the individual flowers with the Audrey Blue ink and that was it!

Hello everyone! Happy Saturday!! I had so much going on last week - I set up a Patreon page (people have been asking for over a year now about that. I'd actually started setting one up a year ago and finally decided to make it public. I'll address this in a more detail, dedicated post later on!) for one. I also posted SALE info on my social media pages (click HERE for the SALE!) and was in a big blog hop for Simon Says Stamp's Sending Sunshine release!
I'd posted this video on the Honey Bee blog and channel earlier in the week. When I went to edit it and upload it to mine the voiceover was lost so it had to be re-done (and I hate repeating myself LOL). I had to get a new MacBook (for those that remember my previous one crashed back in February - we tried everything and Chris (who is a computer expert) enlisted help and even someone who used to work for Apple helped to try and fix it - it was completely fried. Needless to say I DID pony up for the extended warranty on this new one. If I manage to fry it too at least Apple will replace this - lesson learned the VERY hard way) recently - even then I still have issues sometimes with editing and whatnot!
ANYWHO - I re-recorded the voiceover and got it all uploaded to my channel so I can share it all here with you guys!
I used Honey Bee Stamps new Shine On stamp set for these cards. It's such a fun stamp set - and there is a really great Nail Polish Bottle shaped card die set that a lot of you have been asking me about. It sold out IMMEDIATELY after the release - so I'll create with it and post a video once it's back in stock!
For this first set of cards, I heat embossed the polish bottle image on black cards stock, some using white embossing powder and some using clear embossing powder.
I used my Prima Metallic Accents and Prima Metallic Pastel Accents water-colour palettes to paint up all the bottles. I then coated all the bottles with Crystal Glaze and let them dry before adhering them to my card bases.
I used Honey Bee's Friends Like You stamp set for the sentiments on the inside.
For my second set of cards I heat embossed the bottles onto both black and grey card stocks with the same embossing powders.
I used the Prima metallic water-colours on these as well, and added splatter with one of them after everything had dried. I die cut all the panels with Honey Bee's A2 Double Stitched Frames and heat embossed sentiments from the Shine On and Friends Like You stamp sets.
I added a TON of Tonic Nuvo drops to all of the cards in several different colors as well - I'm so obsessed with them to embellish my cards!
I kept the insides of these cards simple and just stamped the polish bottles in various dye inks and that was it!

I created 4 cards using a bunch of the new products from the release. I wanted to do some more playing with the new Tonic Nuvo Shimmer Powders so I created a couple of backgrounds with just the powders, and layered die cuts over it. The other 2 backgrounds were stamped with 2 of the new SSS Background Stamps then I added the powders to them and finished them off with die cut and heat embossed sentiments.
I used 2 different SSS sequin mixes to embellish my cards - then stamped sentiments from the new Playful Messages stamp set on the insides:

Hey everyone! OK after a bunch of issues with one of my SD cards and editing this video I finally got it all done so that I can share these cards with you!
If you missed my unboxing video of the June SSS Card Kit you can check that out here:
I ended up making 4 cards from the kit - using the 4 different colors of card stock along with the 2 envelopes (and pulling 2 more envelopes from my stash) and the absolutely gorgeous Beautiful Flowers stamp set.
I heat embossed the main floral image onto all the card bases using 4 different metallic SSS embossing powders. I then "stepped it up" by adding some shimmer using my Pearlescent FineTec water-colours, and then stepped it up yet again using Nuvo Crystal Drops.
I heat embossed the sentiments from the stamp set onto the insides of the cards with the same embossing powders. I also stamped and heat embossed the floral image onto the flaps of all the envelopes to tie it all together and that was it!

Hello everyone! Simon Says Stamp's June card kit just showed up so I lost NO time (well the time it took to feed the kids supper and get them into bed so that I could film lol) opening it up and filming the unboxing video for it!
SO much awesomeness. I'll have a Release & Review as well as card videos for that coming ASAP!

Hello everyone! After I'd posted these cards a couple of months ago (they were made right after my laptop had crashed - so I hadn't lost the footage to those ones) I'd intended to make a bunch more cards with the Doodlebug So Punny line - and just now finally getting around to it LOL.
This card is another very non-traditional Father's Day card - and technically can be used for anything and anyone - I just wanted to include it in my Father's Day series as I like having options.
I used Simon Says Stamp's Funny Food stamp set and stamped the slice of bread onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb card stock with Ink on 3's Blackout ink before colouring it in with Copics.
I kept the Copic colouring really simple and just used colours similar to the colours used on the patterned paper.
I white heat embossed the sentiment onto black card stock, and used Buttermilk Tonic Nuvo drops to embellish it.
I used remainders of the patterned paper to finish off the inside of the card, and then added a loaf and sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Breakfast Buddies stamp set.
