It's SO cold outside right now - apparently we're supposed to get to around -40 again tonight. Thankfully I'm cuddled up inside nursing this cold (ugh) and the kids are in bed so I got the voiceover done and am able to share the card I made for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge:
You can check out the challenge HERE <-----click! to see what the rest of the Design Team created and play along if you'd like!
Here's what I created:
I've been SO inspired lately by Debby Hughes (who isn't inspired by her cards? I love everything she does) and her use of Glitter Paste. I literally have ALL the Tonic Nuvo Glitter Pastes on order LOL!! But since I don't have them right now I made my own with some Translucent embossing paste mixed with glitter. It worked but isn't quite the same effect as the actual glitter paste - but still is pretty!
I did some ink blending onto Neenah Solar white card stock with Simon Says Stamp inks, then put Simon's new Folk Dance stencil and blended the same inks over it. While the stencil was still in place I added the glitter paste I'd created (ALWAYS make sure you wash off your palette knife and stencil etc right away after using any sort of paste but especially glitter pastes - once they dry on there it's nearly impossible to remove).
The sentiments are from Simon's You Matter stamp set and You wafer die - I stacked the You die cuts and coated it with Nuvo's Crystal Glaze to give it some gloss. I dug through my pack of Lucy's Rainbow Sparkle Mix jewels and added ones in colors similar to the inks to set it all off.
I finished off the inside of the card with sentiments from Simon's All My Love stamp set and that was it!

I get asked a lot about where to purchase the supplies I use in my videos and blog posts. I list all the supplies I use at the end of my posts (below) or in the description box directly below my video on YouTube. If the products have little icons below the image it means there's more than one place it can be purchased. You can hover over the icons and it will tell you what store that link will take you to. Compensated affiliate links used when possible at no extra cost to you. Affiliate linking is what keeps my blog and YouTube channel up and running and enables me to work from home with my kids! I appreciate your support more than words can say!
I occasionally receive product for free from stores/manufacturer with no obligation on my part to use/review - I only use and share what I personally love. Everything else I purchase myself!
