Hello everyone! I had to pull out the Simon Says Stamp Christmas Squad stamp set (who are we kidding - it's been sitting on my desk since it was released LOL) and made this fun gingerbread man card:
I was originally going to heat emboss the gingerbread man image with white embossing powder on this Neenah Desert Storm 100lb card stock. It would have looked really cute! However not too long ago I had got my hands on several Wendy Vecchi embossing powder colors and had the Potting Soil - so I used that one instead.
After I heat embossed all the images with the Potting Soil embossing powder I used my Gansai Tambi watercolours and a water brush to color them all in. Even though this isn't watercolored paper I didn't have a problem colouring them this way. I didn't use a lot of water and wasn't doing any blending etc. THAT'S when you can run into problems with the paper tearing and pilling as it's not designed to be used with a lot of water. Simple colouring like this with a bit of watercolored and a water brush works, and the Desert Storm cardstock has a smoother finish to it than others so the color glided better on it than I expected.
For my sentiment I used the SSS Season's Greetings wafer die that's from last year (or the year before? I can't remember - it's still available though and one of my favourites). I sponged Festive Berries Distress Ink onto it and stacked it with 2 more die cuts to give it dimension.
I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the sentiment and images from the Christmas Squad set in the Festive Berries and Gathered Twigs Distress inks and that was it!

I get asked a lot about where to purchase the supplies I use in my videos and blog posts. I list all the supplies I use at the end of my posts (below) or in the description box directly below my video on YouTube. If the products have little icons below the image it means there's more than one place it can be purchased. You can hover over the icons and it will tell you what store that link will take you to. Compensated affiliate links used when possible at no extra cost to you. Affiliate linking is what keeps my blog and YouTube channel up and running and enables me to work from home with my kids! I appreciate your support more than words can say!
I occasionally receive product for free from stores/manufacturer with no obligation on my part to use/review - I only use and share what I personally love. Everything else I purchase myself!
