Studio Katia You're So Ranunculus Card | Nuvo Aqua Flow Pens

Oh Monday - lets just say it's been a rather blah start to my week. However, one bright spot is that I made a card AND played around with a new-to-me form of watercolour (which always makes me happy):

I used the Studio Katia You're So Ranunculus stamp set and heat embossed it onto some Canson XL watercolour paper with Hero Arts white embossing powder.

For the watercoloring I used Tonic's Nuvo Aqua Flow pens - literally scribbling them onto the image then pulling out and mixing the colors with a Nuvo water brush.

I also used the Aqua Flow pens to create the background - I'm really liking how well the color flows and blends with these pens. I also REALLY like how they reacted when I sprayed them with water and got that splatter effect so easily.

Of course I HAD to add several of the Studio Katia Sparkling Crystals to the finished card - anything floral is practically begging for them LOL!

I kept the inside of the card simple and just stamped the main image with Memento New Sprout ink and then stamped a sentiment from the same set with Versafine Onyx black ink and that was it!

SSS So Cool Card | Crayola Fine Line Markers Watercolor

And it's the weekend already! I finally got my card video edited and uploaded - this week's Color Throwdown challenge had me a little stumped for a bit:

That's what I like so much about the challenge though - it makes me think outside the box a little and use color combo's that I normally don't gravitate towards.

And here's what I made:

I pulled out the new Simon Says Stamp So Cool set and heat embossed the popsicle image all over some Canson XL watercolour paper.

I used 4 Crayola Fine Line markers and a water brush to color in all the popsicles. SUPER quick and easy!

I added some white splatter using Copic Opaque White paint, and a scattering of sequins to finish it off.

On the inside of the card I stamped a sentiment from the So Cool set with SSS Intense Black ink, and had heat embossed then watercolored the popsicle border image onto watercolour paper before die cutting it and adhering it to the inside of my card.

Lawn Fawn Magic Color Slider Card | Flamingo Together | Copic Markers

Hellooooo everyone! For once I actually opened up and USED some of my hoarded Lawn Fawn goodies (I've been rather upfront about my tendencies to purchase a ton of stamps and dies and patterned papers and sequins just so that I can collect them b/c it makes me happy) - and not only did I make a card but I made my first ever magic color slider card!

I've mentioned in the past that I don't tend towards interactive cards - anything too detailed and "finicky" I just don't have the time for so I just never make them. Magic color slider cards are nothing new - people have been making them for years now. Not me though - I just couldn't be bothered. 

Enter Lawn Fawns Magic Color Slider Lawn Cuts wafer die set - I had to own it and finally broke it out to try my hand at making a magic color slider with it. 

I used Lawn Fawn's Simple Grassy Hillsides and Spring Showers Lawn Cuts dies to create my scene, and their Flamingo Together stamp set for my characters.

I stamped the flamingos onto Neenah Solar White 80lb card stock with Hero Arts Intense Black ink then coloured them in with Copic markers. I added some sparkle to the flamingos with my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen - you can't tell in the pictures but I was able to show the sparkle in the video.

I coloured and die cut 2 more flamingos for the inside of the card, and stamped a sentiment from the Flamingo Together set with the same Intense Black ink and SSS's new Watermelon ink (linked below) - the color was PERFECT for this card!

June 2017 Happy Mail Haul! | Cards from YOU

Happy 4th of July to all my American friends!!

It's JULY already - the summer is officially here! I have a ton of amazing cards and gifts to share with all of you that were sent to my PO box last month - as always I am blown away by all your creativity and generosity! ALL of you rock - whether you mail something or not. I appreciate the comments and "likes" and views - all the support in all the ways is amazing. I also love that so many of you are leaving love in the comments for those that have sent in cards and whatnot - I think it's awesome that they can get feedback here as well.

SnS Busy Beaver Canada Day Blog Hop | Copic Markers

Happy Canada Day!! 

I'm hopping along with several other designers to celebrate Canada's 150th Birthday with Scrap N Stamp! We all got the new Taylored Expression Busy Beaver stamp and wafer die combo to use - I have a card and video using it to share with y'all and stay tuned to the end for GIVEAWAY info!

I stamped the beaver onto Neenah Solar White 80lb card stock with Hero Arts Intense Black Ink and coloured it and the log in with Copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out, and die cut some kraft card stock with a stitched circle die.

I created a background scene on the kraft die cut with my Distress Oxide Inks, a scrap of paper and a cloud stencil before adhering the beaver and the log with foam tape.

I ran the green card stock through my Big Shot machine using one of the WeR Memory Keepers Next Level embossing folder.

The sentiment was heat embossed onto red card stock with white embossing powder, and I attached the maple leaf die cut medallion (more about that in the giveaway) to it with some hemp cord.

I kept the inside of the card simple and just stamped another sentiment from the set with the Intense Black ink and that was it!
