Hello everyone! LOL I just realized y'all will get a good look at my horrible sunburn that I mentioned in my previous post as I filmed this video over the weekend when I JUST got it. Thank you for the well wishes and advice - lol I've been applying Aloe Vera copiously and am feeling MUCH better than I was (and lesson definitely learned - I knew better but was too busy to think as usual - I'll be liberal with the sunblock after this!).
Over the weekend I pulled out the new gorgeous intricate stencils from Simon Says Stamp's Cherished release that we all have been fawning over LOL. I had NO clue what to make as I haven't been feeling overly creative for the last little bit. Life and sunburns and lack of sleep took a bit of a toll - but I was determined to get my stamping mojo back ;).
So I played around with the stencils and different embossing pastes - and honestly wasn't feeling it. However I walked away from them and left it for some time, came back to them later and started die cutting and fiddling and ended up making all of them into cards:
Sometimes coming back to projects after going and doing something else helps. Sometimes in the end it just doesn't work LOL! This was one of the times it did (thank goodness - I don't have any extra time to just mess around and just share every little thing I make with y'all b/c time is a LUXURY that's for sure) - and it was also one of those rare times that the cards actually turned out even better than I thought they would.
This Viva Decor Gold Ferro has a very gritty sand-like texture to it - when applying it and after it dries (though it doesn't dry scratchy or rough - it's fairly smooth with some texture to it) - it's very different. I like it.
FYI - I mention in the video that I got this Ferro forever ago - and I was right. I actually found the SSS Haul Video <----click! that I posted where I got it THREE years ago LOL. Ahhhhh Katelyn was only a year old when I got that - she was sitting in my lap when I was filming (haha I remember those days - her little hands were in so many of my videos. Now the kids can't sit still long enough for a picture 99% of the time let alone a video).
Anywho back to the post:
This one was Faber Castell Texture Luxe (links to everything is at the end of the post) - really creamy and metallic.
This last one was Viva Decor Modelling Cream in Champagne - similar creamy texture as the Faber Castell.
All of these stencils held up perfectly with the pastes, and with sponging (I got so many questions about that). I wouldn't call these stencils flimsy at all - even the most detailed one still has a sturdiness to it. I can't stress enough though that you either need to put your stencils into water or wash them off immediately when using pastes with them. ESPECIALLY the Ferro-style ones - that stuff is pretty much impossible to get off your tools and stencils if left to dry on them. My stencil still has gold residue on it from the Ferro - doesn't affect it at all as I washed it immediately after using it but I just wanted to caution those that haven't played with stencils and embossing pastes yet!
I finished off the insides of the cards by sponging SSS Lake Shores ink over each of the stencils and then stamping sentiments with SSS Intense Black ink and that was it!

I get asked a lot about where to purchase the supplies I use in my videos and blog posts. I list all the supplies I use at the end of my posts (below) or in the description box directly below my video on YouTube. If the product images have sets of letters below the image it means there's more than one place it can be purchased. SSS = Simon Says Stamp, AZ = Amazon, MFT = My Favourite Things, SnS = Scrap N Stamp (Canada) etc. Compensated affiliate links used when possible at no extra cost to you. Affiliate linking is what keeps my blog and YouTube channel up and running and enables me to work from home with my kids! I appreciate your support more than words can say!
Items marked with an asterisk (*) have been sent by a store/manufacturer (with no obligation on my part to use/review - I only use and share what I personally love). Everything else I purchase myself!
