SSS Bouquet of Thanks Take 2 | Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers

Hello again everyone! I've been so behind this week that I'm just now getting my card posted for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge:

Here's what I came up with:

I went rather literal (as usual) with the inspiration photo and pulled out the new Bouquet of Thanks stamp set from SSS's One of a Kind release. After making this card with the same image I wanted to try something different using this color combo as inspiration.

I heat embossed the image onto Canson XL watercolour paper and watercolored it with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a water brush.

I did some splatter with Ground Espresso Distress ink, and added some Moonshine Confetti (one strategically placed to cover a boo boo LOL), and the die cut Thanks sentiment from the new Script Thanks wafer die from SSS.

I finished off the inside of the card by heat embossing a sentiment from the same set, then stamping the flower images again using SSS Clear Embossing ink (it works great for watermark/tone-on-tone stamping too) and that was it!

Honey Bee Stamps Zen Bouquet 2 Ways Using 3 Distress Inks

Hi everyone!! SLOWLY getting caught up - I mentioned in a previous post that while I haven't been posting here on my blog/YouTube channel as much as I usually do I am still working behind the scenes with schtuff.

This set of cards and video was one of them. I shared this already on the Honey Bee Stamps YouTube channel and on their blog (subscribe to both if you haven't already) and wanted to share here too:

I've had SO many of you asking for a long time now if I was going to get Honey Bee's Zen Bouquet stamp set. It's such a HUGE stamp so a lot of people wondered just what to do with it - well I finally got my hands on it and sat down to play.

What turned into the idea for one card tuned into 4 cards LOL. I think the thing I'm most proud of is the fact that not only did I watercolour in the entire image (b/c anyone who knows me knows I don't have time or energy to deal with a lot of detail and taking huge amounts of time to color anything) but that I did it using only 3 Distress Inks (still doesn't mean not owning every single one isn't worth it - just means that you can get a TON of mileage from a select few).

I also love the fact that there's a coordinating die set for the Zen Bouquet stamp set - not only for the huge main image but for all the smaller ones too (it's a massive stamp set).

I heat embossed the main image onto Canson XL watercolour paper with white embossing powder, then used the 3 Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry, Mermaid Lagoon and Mustard Seed) smushed onto my plastic palette to color them in. I just mixed the colors together on my palette to create all the purples, oranges, greens etc. 

For the second set I did the same thing - heat embossed the images onto watercolour paper. Instead of painting everything individually I pressed the paper into the ink multiple times to create the splattered, messy look that is SO much fun with Distress Inks.

On all the insides I stamped the flower bouquet image after inking it up with the same 3 Distress Inks then lightly misting the stamp with water.

SSS 3 Cards with Hello Summer Card Kit

Hello everyone! It feels like it's been forever since I last posted! I've been super busy behind the scenes and with the kids.

I made 3 cards with the latest Simon Says Stamp Card Kit:

I used mostly elements from the kit (which I also linked separately below) along with their Stitched Rectangles Wafer Dies and a few other things.

Card #1 features their new Teeny Bikini wafer die cut from patterned paper and a sentiment from the Sea You Soon stamp set.

Card #2 features this fabulous patterned paper - I didn't want to cover much of it up so I stamped the sentiment from the Sea You Soon set onto vellum and wrapped it around the patterned paper.

Card #3 I made a shaker card with the patterned papers and the Stitched Rectangle dies along with the die cut bikini. I attached the bikini to some nylon thread to help keep it in place (rather than the pieces falling to the bottom of the shaker) yet still allow it to shake around.

I finished off all the insides of the cards with stamps from the Sea You Soon set and patterned paper left over from the outsides of the cards and that was it!

SSS Boquet of Thanks | One of a Kind Blog Hop | Gansai Tambi Starry Colors

Hello everyone! Welcome to Part 2 of the Simon Says Stamp One of a Kind Release Blog Hop!

Now for the card and video I made:

I had to use the new Bouquet of Thanks stamp set and coordinating wafer die for my first card with this release. Funny thing is is I had a bunch of ideas and color combos running through my head but in the end I couldn't resist doing another metallic/shimmer watercolour on black card stock.

I stamped the image onto SSS Black Card stock with SSS Clear Embossing Ink then embossed it with SSS Ultra Fine Gold Embossing Powder. I then used the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors watercolors to color them all in. Pictures just don't do these colors and shimmer justice. In real life the light catches it and it's so pretty.

I had stamped and watercolored a second floral image which I used on the inside of the card, and stamped a sentiment from the Bouquet of Thanks stamp set with Delicata Golden Glitz ink and brushed with Gold Perfect Pearls Powder and that was it!

ME Botanic Hello Take 3 | Distress Ink Watercolor

Hellloooooo everyone. I'm late (as usual) with my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge. I've been experiencing a TON of technical difficulties this week and it's put me so far behind with everything I just can't even.

I love this week's color combo! Check out what the rest of the team created here <------click! and play along if you'd like!

Here's what I came up with:

I pulled out my Mama Elephant Botanic Hello stamp set for this card - I just LOVE this set and reach for it often!

I stamped and embossed the image with Hero Arts white embossing powder onto Canson XL watercolour paper then watercolored it in with Distress Inks. 

I used my Shimmer Pico embellisher on the letters - gives it some shine and just a little bit of sparkle. I also added some Studio Katia Sparkling Crystals (my favourite!) and some black and white striped patterned paper while I was at it.

I finished off the inside of the card with a sentiment from Mama Elephant's Sweetest Greetings stamp set and a bit of the striped paper and that was it!

Lawn Fawn Aloha | Faux No Line Watercolor | Tombow Markers

Ohhhhh Monday - so far so good LOL. I have a card to share with y'all - using one of the new Lawn Fawn sets I got (TRYING to actually use them and not just collect them LOL):

I called this "Faux No Line Watercolor" because just like this card I did previously (and this one too) I stamped the images with SSS Barely Beige ink then this time watercolored them with Tombow markers. I didn't do REAL no line watercoloring b/c that takes forever and I don't have the patience for it. This was quick and easy LOL!

It's hard to tell in the picture but I used my Clear Pico Embellisher on the sunglasses to give them some shine. I also used some Tonic Nuvo Crystal and Jewel drops to add a little embellishment while I was at it.

I finished off the inside of the card with a sentiment from the Aloha set and another pineapple and that was it!

Summer 2017 Lawn Fawn Haul!

Anyone who's followed me for some time just KNOWS I wouldn't be able to hold out for long on the newest Lawn Fawn release...... I tried to resist - I really did. And then I ordered a bit of it......and then some more.....then watched another video of new goodies I didn't have and ordered those too.....y'all know what I'm talking about LOL!

Helloooooo everyone!! Is it only Tuesday night? I don't know why but it feels like it's been a really long week already......yay (sarcasm). LOL

Anywho - this week's Color Throwdown Challenge is up!

I had several ideas brewing using these colors and especially with the inspiration photo - but ended up going on a total detour thought-wise and created this card:

I pulled out Simon Says Stamp's Abstract Triangles background stamp that I've been wanting to heat emboss and watercolour with for a loooonnnggg time now - and finally did it LOL.

I stamped the image onto Canson XL watercolour paper with SSS Clear Ink and heat embossed it with Hero Arts white embossing powder.

I then used 4 Distress Inks (Crushed Olive, Broken China, Chipped Sapphire, and Vintage Photo) to watercolour all the triangles. I really love the new colors created where some of the triangles overlap - it just gives it all so much more depth!

The shimmery blue was done with my FineTec Pearlescent Watercolors - I went over just a few of the triangles with the Sapphire Blue from the palette to create this gorgeous (yet subtle) blue shimmer.

After it was all dry I die cut the DAD using the Big Dad wafer die from SSS, and stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from the You Matter stamp set.

I used the die cut letters on the inside of the card and then added a second heat embossed sentiment and that was it!

Studio Katia Haul!

Hello everyone! Today's been the Monday-est of Mondays it seems - I literally had to RE-film this haul video (anyone who knows me knows how much I loathe having to re-film anything. SSS Mom and Dad Icons | Father's Day Cards | Copics

Happy weekend!! :)

I realized I hadn't made any Father's Day cards yet and with the day fast approaching I needed to get on that - so here's 2!

I pulled out Simon Says Stamp's Mom and Dad Icons stamp set and coordinating wafer dies and did a little bit of Copic colouring:

I stamped all the images I wanted to use onto Neenah Solar White 80lb card stock with SSS Intense Black ink then coloured them in with the Copics. After colouring I used the coordinating wafer dies to cut them all out.

I used Simon Says Stamp's Stitched Rectangle dies to cut all the layers, and stamped the coordinating icon stamp onto the color card stock with the same color of SSS ink.

After I had finished adhering everything I coated the icons with my Clear Pico embellisher - it isn't as thick as Glossy Accents so it won't be as raised which was the look I was after - I wanted the gloss and shine but in a thin layer. That plus I find the Pico dries a lot faster (which is perfect for someone like me - I always end up touching anything I apply GA to and wrecking it.....).

I finished off the insides of the cards with more sentiments and more die cut and coloured icons from the Mom and Dad Icons set and that was it!

MFT Shaker Flower Card | Distress Oxide Inks

Hello everyone! I finally got my video edited and uploaded for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge:

Here's what I made:

I pulled out the MFT Shaker Flower Die-namics and made this really quick and easy shaker card. I NEED to make more of these - the MFT shaker pouches make it so much easier to make shakers. No need to fuss around with foam tape and transparencies and whatnot. Just pop one of the shaker pouches into the opening, fill it with whatever you want then back it with card stock and you're good to go.

I used Distress Oxide inks to sponge all the die cut pieces as well as the background. I finally decided it was time to order all the Distress Oxide Re-inkers - I've been using them so much and being thicker inks I have a feeling I'll be needing the re-inkers sooner than later LOL!

I filled the shaker pouch with an assortment of Pretty Pink Posh sequins (I've linked to the ones I used below), and stamped a sentiment from the MFT More Essential Sentiments set.

And of course I had to use some grey (not black this time!) diagonal striped paper from MFT's Dots & Stripes Neutral 6x6 pack.

I finished off the inside with another sentiment from the More Essential Sentiments set and a couple more die cut leaves and that was it!
