Happy Friday!! I was so hoping to get these cards and video posted a few days ago, but this cold has knocked the wind out of me and now the kids are sick too. Blah. Hoping it all passes ASAP!
Anywho - as I mention in the video this sort of card can easily be made for any occasion - it's only the sentiment on the inside of the card that denotes it as Mother's Day:
I used the same background stamp - Simon Says Stamp's Cora Background - and the same ink colors - SSS Rose Apple, Velvet Orchid and Winter Sky - and came up with 2 different looking cards.
For the first card I squished the inks onto an acrylic block and picked them up with a water brush and coloured in specific areas of the heat embossed background. These inks aren't meant to be used with water (they're actually water-resistant - meaning you can stamp images with them then watercolour OVER them and they won't bleed/move) but I was curious to see what sort of result I'd get.
For the second card after a failed experiment I sponged the same inks over the background - and love the totally different look it gives.
I used sentiments from the Best Mom Ever stamp set to stamp the inside and back of the cards, and paired them up with a couple different shimmery SSS envelopes and that was it!

I get asked a lot about where to purchase the supplies I use in my videos and blog posts. I list all the supplies I use at the end of my posts (below) or in the description box directly below my video on YouTube. If the product images have sets of letters below the image it means there's more than one place it can be purchased. SSS = Simon Says Stamp, AZ = Amazon, MFT = My Favourite Things, SnS = Scrap N Stamp (Canada) etc. Compensated affiliate links used when possible at no extra cost to you. Affiliate linking is what keeps my blog and YouTube channel up and running and enables me to work from home with my kids! I appreciate your support more than words can say!
Items marked with an asterisk (*) have been sent by a store/manufacturer (with no obligation on my part to use/review - I only use and share what I personally love). Everything else I purchase myself!
