Hey everyone! So I'm the guest over at the MFT blog today - you can check out the post HERE <----click!
I filmed this card while I was making it, and wanted to share it with y'all:
I had sooooo many of you asking if it's possible to watercolour with the new Distress Oxide inks - and I did a teeny bit of that on a previous MFT card HERE, but didn't do anything more involved.
So this time I wanted to try watercoloring in an entire image with them, so I pulled out the Mermazing set from MFT, stamped it onto Bristol Smooth card stock with MFT Black Licorice Hybrid ink and watercolored it in with the Distress Oxide inks.
Because of the nature of Distress Oxide inks you're going to get different results with them when watercoloring - they have a more chalk-ink-style to them which I think it pretty cool. I LOVE them for sponging which is what I did for the entire scene. I die cut everything from Bristol Smooth card stock and the Beach Scene Builder Die-namics along with the Wonky Stitched Circle Die-namics, then used all but one of the 12 new Distress Oxide inks LOL!
The 3rd way I used the Distress Oxide inks was to stamp the coral, seaweed and fish images from the Mermazing set onto the inside of the card. I created my little underwater scene with all the images then added a sentiment from the same set and that was it!

I get asked a lot about where to purchase the supplies I use in my videos and blog posts. I list all the supplies I use at the end of my posts (below) or in the description box directly below my video on YouTube. If the product images have sets of letters below the image it means there's more than one place it can be purchased. SSS = Simon Says Stamp, AZ = Amazon, MFT = My Favourite Things, SnS = Scrap N Stamp (Canada) etc. Compensated affiliate links used when possible at no extra cost to you. Affiliate linking is what keeps my blog and YouTube channel up and running and enables me to work from home with my kids! I appreciate your support more than words can say!
Items marked with an asterisk (*) have been sent by a store/manufacturer (with no obligation on my part to use/review - I only use and share what I personally love). Everything else I purchase myself!
