Thank you all TONS for taking the time out of your day to send cards and gifts (gifts are not necessary in the least - they're always appreciated but don't ever feel like you need to send anything!). I love going to the post office and getting all this happy mail throughout the month and then sharing it with you all. Everyone puts in so much effort and it's great to see what YOU guys are creating! ((((hugs))))

I also wanted to add - I have noticed several comments from some of you along the lines of "I'm not good enough" or "when I get the courage to" - PLEASE don't. We all have to start somewhere, and it's awesome to get a card from someone regardless of how much "skill" they have. This is supposed to be a fun and rewarding hobby and I don't ever want anyone thinking they're not "good enough" to send in cards. You do YOU - and if you want to send in a card to be featured then do it! I'll be proud to show it off to everyone :).

For those reading this make sure to leave some love in the comments for all these awesome cards that I showed. I'm sure the ones that sent in cards will more than appreciate all your kind words!! <3 <3 <3

Honey Bee Stamps Birthday Bash Blog Hop

Hello everyone! I'm so excited to be participating in a blog hop celebrating Honey Bee Stamps 2nd Birthday! If you didn't start at the beginning of the hop I'll have links to everything further down in the post, as well as giveaway info at the end!

I HAD to use the new Blah Bunny stamp set to create a couple cards - this is so me LOL:

These are 4-Bar Size (4 7/8 x 3 1/2")

I stamped the bunnies and accessories onto Neenah Solar White 80lb card stock with SSS Intense Black ink and coloured them all in with Copics.

The sentiments are from the new Honey Bee Blah Blah Blah set - another insane favourite for me. I stamped the sentiments onto the white card stock with the same black ink, then stamped the small sentiments with a light grey ink.

I used the companion Blah Bunny dies to create the mat the bunnies are laying on by die cutting the purple plaid and Blu Raspberry card stock. I adhered them together and adhered the bunny on top before adding it to my cards.

I finished off the insides of the cards with more sentiments from the Blah Blah Blah set, and added the same little accessory images I used on the front of each card and that was it!

MFT Sketched Blooms 2 | Distress Oxide Inks | Color Throwdown Challenge 440

Hey everyone! It's time for another Color Throwdown Challenge:

Here's what I came up with using these colors:

I pulled out MFT's Sketched Blooms 2 stamp set, and some Distress Oxide Inks. LOL I had totally forgot that there was a more "green" green in the Distress Oxides (since there's only the 12 available so far) as I always reach for the Cracked Pistachio but that green wouldn't "go" with this color challenge. Good thing I looked through though and saw the Peeled Paint as it was the perfect shade of green for this!

I stamped the outlines with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto the smooth side of Distress watercolour paper, then inked up the solid images with the Distress Oxide inks, sprayed them lightly with water and stamped them onto the paper. I then took my water brush and pulled the color out a bit just to make everything a little more messy and "watercolour-ey" looking.

As I was making this card I remembered that I'd bought all the Tonic Nuvo Jewel Drops (I keep them all in a drawer which means they're out of sight - which means I forget all the time...), so I pulled them out and used them to add some embellishment to the card. This picture was taken before they were completely dry so they're more transparent now then they look here which I just love.

I finished off the inside of the card with a stamped and heat embossed sentiment and stamped one of the images with the Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Ink (stamping it multiple times before pressing it to the ink pad again) and that was it!

SSS May 2017 Card Kit | Watercolor Flamingo w Crayola Fine Line Markers

Hey everyone! So I couldn't resist making another card using the second pre-printed panel from the SSS May Card Kit. That plus I wanted to play around with the Crayola Fine Line markers some more. A lot of you have been asking questions about them and were just as surprised as I was to see how well they worked with my water brush. 

So here's the second card:

I used only the Crayola Fine Line markers to color in this image - a lot of people have been asking if these markers are actual watercolour markers. All I know is that they're not marketed as such - all it says on the box is Fine Line markers and nothing is mentioned about watercoloring with them.

But like any colouring medium don't let the packaging or wording or whatever stop you from playing around and experimenting with it. I just assumed these would more than likely work with water because they're water-based. Just like most dye inks meant for stamping - they aren't marketed as watercolour either but a person can  use them as such. :)

After all the colouring was done I went in with a white gel pen and added some highlights and whatnot here and there and die cut the panel with SSS's largest Stitched Rectangle die.

I finished off the inside of the card with heat embossed sentiment from the You Matter stamp set and that was it!

SSS May 2017 Card Kit | Watercolor Cacti w Crayola Fine Line Markers

Hello everyone! I was in the mood to do some colouring this morning, and have the SSS May Card Kit sitting here so I decided to pull out one of the pre-printed designs that comes in it, as well as these Crayola markers.

I honestly thought that I would get OK results with the markers, and pulled out an acrylic block to use because I assumed I'd have to scribble the marker on to the block then pick it up with my water brush (that helps prevent marker lines and all that from showing up on the paper as some markers just don't move well). I was pleasantly surprised to see just how well these markers performed when I scribbled them right onto the paper and pulled the color out with my water brush. The more I was colouring this image and playing around with these markers the more I was enjoying it!

I gotta say if you've been interested in using markers and wanting to play around with watercolour but really don't want to invest in the pricier sets - get a set of these! They're around $5 US (I put a link to them at SSS below) and you can't go wrong. I was planning on giving this set to my kids b/c I didn't think I'd get much use out of them (I have how many sets of markers now? LOL) but I'm planning to keep this set, might get more colors eventually and will get some for my kids too.

OK anywho there's my long into to this card ;).

This was a really easy and fun card to make - colouring in all these cactus and succulent images was just fun, and after it was dry I die cut the panel with the largest Stitched Rectangle wafer die from SSS, and adhered it to a Green Leaf card stock base.

I stamped and heat embossed a couple sentiments from the SSS Thankful Heart stamp set and adhered one of them to the front of the card and added the second to the inside:

SSS Flamingo Animation Card | SSS May 2017 Animation Card Kit

Hey everyone! I hope y'all had a great weekend. I got a chance to sit down today and create with the May 2017 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - and I had to try my hand at these new (to me) animation stamps that came with the kit. This was the card I ended up making:

(I so wish I knew how to create my own GIFs - this would be PERFECT for that!). To actually see the animation and how it's meant to look check out my video - I show it several times ;).

I used some of the patterned papers that came in the kit - as the flamingo paper was a rather obvious choice for this flamingo stamp I wanted to use LOL.

I die cut the Painted Hello sentiment from SSS Doll Pink card stock, and added some Doodle Twine and Doodlebug orange sprinkles for a little fun color and texture.

I added some Doodle Twine to the pull tab I created just to make sliding the image back and forth a little easier and that was it! I showed the inside of the card in the video - I kept it super simple and just added a strip of the arrow patterned paper to the inside and that was that.

SSS More Spring Flowers Watercolor | AmyR 2017 Mother's Day Series #2

Hello everyone! This week just flew by it seems, and as usual I'm behind on everything :P.

This week's Color Throwdown challenge is still going on - you can check out the Design Team inspiration for it HERE <-----click! and there's still time to play along if you'd like!

Here's what I ended up creating with these colors:

I used the SSS More Spring Flowers stamp set and heat embossed a bunch of them onto Canson XL watercolour paper with Hero Arts white embossing powder. I then watercolored them all with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and my little H2O water brush.

I did the same thing for the sentiment and the background - heat embossing then watercolored with the same markers. After everything was dry and die cut I adhered them all first to the watercolour background then to the card base.

I finished off the insides of these cards with a cluster of the same coloured flowers and a heat embossed sentiment from the Mom and Dad Icons set and that was it!

MFT Cuddly Koalas | Clean Color Real Brush Markers | Distress Oxide Inks

Hello everyone! I hope y'all are having a good week so far! :)

I need to get a baby card made yesterday and as I was flipping through my stamps I pulled out the new MFT Cuddly Koalas stamp set - it's got a couple of cute images and sentiments for baby cards. While I was at it I decided to make a second card with the same supplies:

I stamped everything onto Bristol Smooth card stock and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I then coloured them all in with my Clean Color Real Brush markers and a water brush. I talk about it in the video how I have mentioned a LOT that I prefer Canson XL watercolour paper with these markers, and that I've struggled with the Bristol Smooth. A LOT of other people LOVE the Bristol Smooth with these markers and I just wasn't getting good results with it - and then with these cards decided to give it another shot. 

I still wonder if I mixed up some batches of card stock, because this time I got GREAT results. I do have some Bristol Smooth that I purchased a really long time ago (as in well over 5 years - maybe closer to 10) that might be my problem - or maybe like I said I may have got some other card stock mixed in there and wasn't paying close enough attention (b/c that happens a lot LOL).

Anywho the color moved really well on the Bristol Smooth CS this time, and I even did a tiny bit of watercoloring with a Distress Oxide ink (the blue background on the tree die-cut) - just to remove the white space there. I'm also impressed with that but I need more time to fiddle with the Distress Oxides and actually watercoloring with them (still worth getting IMO - these inks are a ton of fun to play with).

I used the Distress Oxide inks to blend the background and then splattered water over it - one of my FAVOURITE things to do with Distress (Oxide or Regular - both react so well with water).

SSS Mother & Flowers Distress Watercolor | AmyR 2017 Mother's Day Series #1

Hello everyone! I wanted some time to de-stress and chill the other night so I pulled out one of the Suzy's Mothers & Flowers Paintable Prints and did some watercoloring with Distress Inks. I didn't get a chance to make it into a card until yesterday - and so here's the finished card and video:

After I'd watercolored in the flowers and let them dry I dotted on some Copic Opaque White acrylic paint (that I thin down with water) to create highlights and texture, then cut the image out with scissors and a craft knife.

I also decided to decorate a coordinating envelope - I'm always telling you all how much I like having coordinating envelopes and how much nicer they look in the main - but I rarely, if ever do it LOL! So I'm trying to change that ;). I bought some fun colors on envelopes that I showed in my last haul video, and decided a Doll Pink one would look great with this card.

I used the new Sending Flowers stamp set to heat emboss the frame and lines and "Happy Mail For" sentiment onto the front of the envelope with Hero Arts white embossing powder.

On the flap of the envelope I stamped the little cluster of flowers from the same Sending Flowers set using SSS Doll Pink ink, and stamped the flower centres with white pigment ink.

On the card I created a watercolour background using Distress watercolour paper and more Distress Inks. After it was dry I die cut it with the largest SSS Stitched Rectangle die then popped the flowers onto it with foam tape.

I kept the inside of the card simple and just heat embossed a sentiment from the Best Mom Ever stamp set with the white embossing powder and that was it!
