SSS Wild Beauty | Distress Ink Stamping | Color Throwdown Challenge #432

Hello everyone! It's time for a new Color Throwdown Challenge:

I'll admit this combo threw me off for a minute - I generally don't "work" with primary colors - my mind immediately goes to school-themed or maybe a card for kids. But the more I thought about it I wondered how these colors would look on a floral card - so that's what I made:

This is a 4-Bar Size Card.

I pulled out Simon Says Stamp's Wild Beauty stamp set and decided to stamp the images onto Canson XL watercolour paper with Distress Inks. Since it's watercolour paper and Distress Inks react with water I was able to move the color around with my water brush after I stamped them.

The sentiment was created with the SSS/Hero Arts Prayers stamp set and coordinating die. I die cut the sentiment 3 times from SSS Sea Glass card stock and stacked them together and stamped the remainder of the sentiment onto the card front with SSS Intense Black Ink.

I finished off the inside of the card with another sentiment from the Prayers set, and added some more flowers and that was it!

SSS Boquet of Flowers Stencil | CAS Birthday Card

Hello everyone! I needed to make another birthday card and came across this SSS Bouquet of Flowers stencil that I hadn't had the chance to use - so I made a one-layer CAS (Clean and Simple) card with it:

I am SOOOO looking forward to spring - especially the last few days as it got gloomy and COLD here (and some more snow too) - so making this card was a good way to bring on Spring LOL!

I sponged various Distress Inks over the stencil which I then spritzed with my Distress Sprayer to create the splatter effect. I then rubbed on just a bit of the Tonic Nuvo Embellishment Mousse on the flowers and stems for a tiny bit of shimmer. It was really hard to capture in a picture - hence the odd angle - but in the light it shows up!

I finished off the inside of the card with another stencilled flower, and a sentiment from the SSS It's Your Birthday! stamp set, which as I mention in the video was designed by yours truly! Since I was making this card for a friend I thought it'd be nice to use a set that I designed on it as well :).

SSS Bring the Sunshine | Birthday Card | Mission Gold Watercolors

Hello everyone :). I have been running behind with absolutely everything lately, including the card for my oldest's birthday which was this weekend. I had a rough idea in my head of what I wanted to create and in the end this was what I made:

I used Simon Says Stamp Bring the Sunshine and Circle Sayings stamp sets along with my Mission Gold watercolours to create this "sunshine" inspired card.

The circle sayings were heat embossed on Canson XL watercolour paper and then watercolored over to create an emboss resist. I then used SSS Nested Circles wafer dies to cut them out and adhere them to the card front.

And of course I had to add a ton of sequins while I was at it LOL.

I stamped this sentiment from the Bring the Sunshine stamp set onto the inside of the card with SSS Duckling ink and that was it!

MFT Fancy Flowers FRIEND Card | Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers

Hey everyone - I wanted to make a card using the same MFT Fancy Flowers Card Kit that I'm giving away in the post below. Click HERE if you haven't seen that post yet!

Here's my card:

I stamped the images from the Fancy Flowers stamp set onto Canson XL watercolour paper with Versamark ink and heat embossed them all with detail white embossing powder.

I watercolored in all the images with my Clean Color Real Brush markers and my little H2O water brush. Once everything was dry I die cut them with the coordinating dies.

I used one of the CCRB markers to watercolour the die cut FREIND before adhering it to my card base.

I kept the inside of the card simple and just adhered one of the flowers and set of leaves to the inside and that was it!

ME Botanic Hello Take 2 | Mission Gold Watercolor | Color Throwdown Challenge #431

Hey everyone! This week I'm the hostess for the Color Throwdown Challenge - so here's my inspiration:

Here's what I came up with:

After my last card with this Mama Elephant Botanic Hello image I HAD to make another card. That plus I had the embossed image already sitting on my desk so convenience took over LOL!

The image had been stamped and embossed with detail white embossing powder onto Canson XL watercolour paper. I then used my Mijello Mission Gold watercolours to watercolour in everything. After it was dry I trimmed out the image with scissors leaving a bit of a gap around the outside of the image.

I used the 2 largest dies from MFT's Blueprints 1 and Blueprints 2 Die-namics sets to die cut the Cool as a Cucumber and Safety Orange card stock. I then ran the Cool as a Cucumber CS through my Big Shot with the Wave Next Level embossing folder from WeR Memory Keepers. LOVE the texture it created!

Of course I had to add some sequins this time!

I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the large Hello image with Memento Pear Tart ink then stamping the sentiment over it with Hero Arts Black ink and that was it!

SSS Some Bunny | Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers | AmyR 2017 Easter Card Series #2

Hello everyone! It's been a really overcast and gloomy day today, but I got some time to create a card and get a video done!

I wanted to use Simon Says Stamp's new Some Bunny stamp set - it's SO cute. I had a hard time deciding what images from it to use so I ended up using most of them on this card LOL:

I masked the images while stamping them onto Canson XL watercolour paper with SSS Intense Black ink, then watercolored them with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.

After I was done colouring in the images and they were dry I went in with some Copic Opaque White paint and added some detail to the eggs and highlights to the bunny and chick images.

I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the bunny with Memento's Gray Flannel ink and the hearts from the set with Memento Rose Bud ink, and adding a sentiment from the set with the SSS Intense Black ink and that was it!

Mama Elephant Botanic Hello | Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers

Happy Saturday everyone! I had a little bit of time yesterday to make a card:

I absolutely LOVE the Mama Elephant Botanic Hello stamp set - isn't it gorgeous?

I pulled out my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to watercolour in the image after I'd heat embossed it with detail white embossing powder onto some Canson XL watercolour paper.

I used one of MFT's Stitched Scallop Basic Edges 2 Die-namics to cut the edge of the watercolour paper, then popped that onto my card base over some black and white patterned paper.

I finished off the inside of the card by inking up the wavy stitching stamp from the set with the same markers, and added a stamped sentiment (also from the same set) and that was it!

MFT Friends Furever | Copic Markers | Color Throwdown #430

Hello everyone! FINALLY have my card and video up for this week's Color Throwdown challenge:

Here's what I came up with:

I pulled out some stamps and die-namics from MFT's new February release to create this card. The new Friends Furever stamp set is so cute and it was just perfect for this color combo.

I used Copics to color in the images, after stamping them with MFT's Black Licorice hybrid ink on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb card stock.

I used 2 different Distress Inks to create my background - just some simple sponging, and I also played with the new-to-me Ink Duster brushes with the green ink. So far so good with those.

I finished off the inside with 2 more stamped and coloured characters and a sentiment from the Friends Furever set and that was it!

SSS Easter Egg Stencil | Tonic Nuvo Mousse | AmyR 2017 Easter Card Series #1

Post and video #2 for tonight! I love when I can get things accomplished so close together LOL! If you missed my unboxing video of the SSS March Card Kit you can check out my post HERE <-----click!

And now for the first card I made with the kit:

I HAD to use the new Easter Egg stencil along with the Tonic Nuvo Mousse colors that come in the kit. I couldn't decide on which color to use so I went with all three LOL!

I just scraped the mousse over the stencil with a palette knife, the colors blended into themselves when I applied them (which was what I wanted) - super easy. I can't wait to play with them more - apparently you can sponge on color with the mousse and a blending sponge and make your own shimmer sprays too (I mention that in the unboxing video).

I kept the inside of the card simple with just a couple strips of the same patterned paper I used on the front of the card and a stamped sentiment and that was it!

SSS March 2017 Card Kit Unboxing! | Some Bunny Loves You

Hello hello everyone!! I'm EARLY with my unboxing video - the kit arrived earlier than usual (which was exciting - being in Canada it usually takes longer for everything to arrive). SSS Stacking Animals | Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers

Hello everyone! I've got a fun one-layer card to share with y'all today:

I've had Simon Says Stamp's Stacking Animals stamp set sitting on my desk for a while now, and finally made a point to sit down and create a card with it and this was the end result!

I created my card base with some Canson XL watercolour paper and heat embossed all the animals with detail white embossing powder. I then used the Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to watercolour them all in.

I continued the animal stack onto the inside of the card and watercolored them the same way and that was it!
