SSS Lucky To Know You | Distress Inks | AmyR 2017 Valentine Card Series #7

Hey everyone! I FINALLY got some time to make a card - and decided to create a more masculine-themed Valentine's Day card:

I used Simon Says Stamp's Lucky To Know You wafer die on their 120lb white card stock, and sponged on 4 different shades of blue Distress Inks going from lightest to darkest to create an ombre effect.

I pulled out the die cut words and then stencilled embossing paste over it using the SSS Drawn Hearts stencil before stacking the sentiment and re-adhering it to the card.

I used the SSS Love & Quotes stamp set on the inside of the card along with some more little die cut hearts that I'd made with the Mini Hearts Outline wafer dies and that was it!

SSS Coffee And Tea | AmyR Coffee Card Series #8 | GIVEAWAY!

Hey everyone! I'm actually on time for a Color Throwdown Challenge! It's practically a miracle LOL!

Here's what I made:

This is a 4.25" square card.

I HAD to use the SSS Coffee And Tea stamp set again, along with the Doodlebug Latte Love Shape Sprinkles - are they not the cutest things ever?? <3 <3 <3 LOL!

Other than a tiny bit of Copic colouring on the back of the embossed hearts on the vellum there was no colouring on this card - so it came together REALLY quickly. I think heat embossing the sentiment and hearts took the longest and even that was pretty quick!

I finished off the inside with a sentiment from the same Coffee And Tea set along with a few more of the Shape Sprinkles because they went perfectly with the sentiment LOL and that was it!

SSS Magical Christmas | AmyR 2017 Christmas Card Series #1

As usual I am way late to this week's Color Throwdown Challenge!! I've been struggling with editing now that my Final Cut Pro program is updated and everything isn't where it's supposed to be (SO annoying till I can get used to it again!) :P.

Anywho - this was this week's challenge:

Isn't it fabulous? I'm sure y'all can tell what inspired me to make the card that I did. Before I get to that though make sure you check out what the rest of the team made here and play along before the challenge ends!! Go HERE to check it out!! 

Here's my card:

I HAD to make a Christmas card - and hoping now that I've made one I can continue making one or two a month this year like I said I was going to (then do a bunch in the late fall like I normally do).

I used Simon Says Stamp's Magical Christmas stamp set and wafer dies along with their Merry Christmas Scrip wafer die (one of my favourites).

The patterned paper is from the Echo Park Deck the Halls 6x6 pack - which I'd bought specifically for using with the Magical Christmas stamp set LOL! I die cut the papers that went with the color combo using SSS Stitched Circles wafer dies, adhered them to a piece of white card stock (cut with the largest stitched rectangle dies) and then splattered it with some gold metallic watercolour.

I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the deer image with SSS Smoke ink and a sentiment from the SSS Christmas Essentials stamp set over it with red ink and that was it!

I use the largest dies from the Blueprints 1 and 2 set nearly ALL the time - as in I don't even bother putting them away I reach for them so often. However the other dies in those sets are really useful too - so I added those.

Really you can't go wrong with any of the blueprints sets - there are so many dies included in the sets giving you a ton of options. MFT also provides downloads with 4 layouts for each set of blueprints - all of which you can find HERE.

AmyR Studio Tour Jan 2017

Well after tons and tons of requests here it is!! Nothing fancy, and I'm definitely NOT very well organized - but this is what I've been working with for the past 6+ months now LOL!

My plan for this year is to move my studio to the master bedroom in this place (I talk about that in the video) and do some serious organizing. I will share any progress I make along the way and will film a new studio tour once it's done(ish - because really is the organizing and moving around of things ever fully finished? For me it never is - I like doing it and moving things around LOL).

SSS Miss You Card | Clean Color Real Brush Markers | AmyR 2017 Valentine Card Series #6

Hey everyone! So like I mention in the video, literally between the time I filmed and uploaded my unboxing video of the Feb 2017 SSS card kit and creating this card the kit sold out!! I can't say I was surprised b/c this kit is fabulous. Thankfully everything is available separately so I've linked to it all at the end of this post as usual! 

Of course I HAD to use the to-go cup from the Tea & Coffee set first, and I stamped it randomly onto some Strathmore Ready Cut Watercolor paper with SSS Clear Ink and heat embossed all the images with detail white embossing powder.

I then used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to watercolour in all the images (Light Gray, Beige, Peach Pink, Light Blue and Pink), splattered it with water then splattered it with Copic Opaque White (white acrylic paint of goauche will work too - I just really like the consistency and "whiteness" of the Copic Opaque white LOL).

I used the new Miss You wafer die to create my sentiment and sponged it with Brushed Corduroy and Vintage Photo Distress inks before stacking it with 2 more die cut sentiments to give it more dimension.

I finished off the inside of the card with another stamped and watercolored to-go cup and a sentiment and stamped heart from the Coffee & Tea set and that was it!

Birdie Brown Polar Bear Pals | Copic Markers | AmyR 2017 Valentine Card Series #5

Hey everyone! I hope y'all had a great weekend! I got a little time to create another card for my Valentine series - this one being very "un" Valentine-ish LOL:

I combined several of MFT's Die-namics sets to create this fun scene, and paired it with the Birdie Brown Polar Bear Pals to make this card.

I used the Mini Hearts background stamp on the Summer Splash card stock - just a subtle hint to Valentine's LOL!

I couldn't resist adding some Crystal Clear Fusion Sequins from Studio Katia to the card front - they're linked in the supplies :).

I used Copics to color in the Polar Bear, then coated his scarf (as well as the "snow" on the mountains) with Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Overlay for some added shimmer.

I finished off the inside of the card with another polar bear and a stamped sentiment from the Polar Bear Pals set and that was it!

Simon Says Stamp February 2017 Card Kit Reveal!

Hey everyone! I don't have the newest Simon Says Stamp card kit YET (been checking the mail every day as I wait rather impatiently for it......but then I do that every month LOL), but I wanted to share all the info with you NOW b/c it is a fabulous kit this month!!

SSS Elizabeth & Emma Backgrounds | Hey Love Blog Hop | AmyR 2017 Valentine Card Series #4

Hello everyone! I am SUPER excited to be hopping along with some massively talented peeps for the Simon Says Stamp Hey Love Blog Hop!

The Hey Love release is a fabulous one - I've already purchased most of it and a lot of you have been waiting to see what all I make with these goodies!

Here's what I created:

I couldn't wait to use the new Elizabeth Background and Emma Background stamps - they are SO gorgeous aren't they?

I decided to make 4 cards using different colors of SSS card stock combined with different colors of embossing powder. This first card is Schoolhouse Red card stock with detail white embossing powder.

I also used the new Love stamp set and coordinating wafer dies, that were cut from black card stock and vellum, with the remainder of the sentiment white heat embossed onto the card front.

I combined Cotton Candy card stock with Nuvo Gold Enchantment Glitter Embossing Powder for this card - LOVE this combo!

Silver embossing powder and Doll Pink card stock for this one (sooooo pretty together).

And finally Fog card stock with Zing Rose embossing powder - another win! 

Of course I finished off the insides of all the cards by heat embossing a sentiment made with stamps from the Love set, and then stamped the backgrounds again on the insides of the cards with SSS Clear Ink and that was it!
