SSS Believe Card | Color Throwdown #421 | AmyR 2016 Christmas Card Series #9

Hello everyone! I'm hosting this week's Color Throwdown challenge <------click here to see what everyone else made and to play along!

I LOVE this inspiration picture - so many ways I could have gone with my card - in the end this was what I came up with:

I used several wafer dies from Simon Says Stamp to create my card, along with Distress Inks to create the background through the trees.

I FINALLY used the Birch Tree Window wafer die that I'd bought weeks ago, then turned it into a winter scene with the SSS Retro Deer wafer die and the little Snow Flurries wafer dies.

I used the same Distress inks to stamp the sentiment on the inside of the card, and adhered the remaining little Snow Flurries and that was it!

MFT Snowflake Sparkle Card Set | AmyR 2016 Christmas Card Series #8

Hello everyone! After a completely crazy day, and some internet/website issues (holy Cyber Monday - EVERY site I was on today was slowed down at times) I finally have this video and post to share with y'all.

Before I get to that - speaking of Cyber Monday - I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to each and every one of you that places orders over the weekend (and at any time) via my links. OK on to the cards - so many requests for me to use these stamps/dies - and I was more than happy to oblige ;)

I used MFT's Simply Snowflakes stamp set along with the coordinating die set, the Snowfall of Blessings stamp set and the Stylish Snowflakes Die-namics. I couldn't make up my mind when I started thinking colours and what to make etc etc so in the end I went with the colours that were in the kit from a few months ago and made 8 cards.

I stamped, embossed and die cut the snowflakes from the Simply Snowflakes stamp set onto pieces of Sour Apple, Tropical Teal, Cornflower and Blue Breeze MFT card stocks.

I then used the Stylish Snowflakes Die-namics on MFT's Cornflower, Silver and Sour Apple Glitter card stock and layered those over the embossed and die cut snowflakes. In real life this glitter card stock has the prettiest shimmer - it looks so dull in pictures but it's anything but!

All the sentiments are from the Snowfall of Blessings stamp set - heat embossed as well and popped onto the cards with foam tape.

On the card fronts and on the insides I stamped snowflakes and whatnot with Versamark ink to add some more interest and that was it!

I used my Sakura Koi Watercolors and my Prima Metallic watercolours to give them a bit of shimmer (and splatter of course!).

Tim Holtz Doodle Greetings 1 & 2 | AmyR 2016 Christmas Card Series #6

Oh I had a heck of a time trying to take pictures of these cards LOL!

My camera was having a fit trying to focus on them with the light reflecting off the sentiments (I show in the video how they end up looking almost foiled - LOVE!) - but this was the best I could do!

I used sentiments from the Tim Holtz Doodle Greetings sets - there's a 1 and 2 and of course I got both sets - they're too gorgeous to pass up. I love how big they are! I wanted to use them as the background on these cards, and as I was making them I was thinking how gorgeous they'd look on a blue card base......or a pale blue.......so many ideas so little time!

I used Distress Grit Paste for the first time on here too - PERFECT for "snow". If you've ever worked with texture paste before you'll notice a huge difference with this grit paste - you can really feel the "grit" when you're working with it.

Like I mention in the video - I've fallen in love with the combination of Delicate Celestial Copper ink and Ranger Bronze Perfect Pearls - it is beyond gorgeous!!! The shine on these sentiments is so pretty :).

See what I mean about having difficulty getting decent pictures? Worth it though! ;)

MFT Kitschy Kitchen | Color Throwdown Challenge #420

Hey everyone! This week's Color Throwdown Challenge is a gorgeous soft/subtle one:

Here's what I created:

I used MFT's new Kitschy Kitchen Card Kit that I did the unboxing video of the other day (as of posting this it's still in stock! I'm sure it will sell out soon though! Like I say in the video the stamps and dies will be in their January release), but didn't use the inks or colours from the kit.

I used my Mini MISTI to do all the stamping - and showed how I used the negative card stock from the die cuts to line up the images in order to stamp them (one of the main reasons I started doing videos was for things like this - it's so much easier to SHOW what I did rather than try to type it in a way that makes sense!).

The textured backgrounds on both cards were created with the WeR Memory Keepers Next Level Embossing Folders. I used the Woven pack which comes with these 2 folders - they really do look like tile backsplash to me LOL! So I had to incorporate them with these stamps!

I kept the insides simple and that was it!

SSS Corbel Ornament Collage | AmyR 2016 Christmas Card Series #5

Well after about half a dozen attempts at uploading (the interwebs have NOT been cooperating with me the last couple of days) I FINALLY have this video uploaded to share with y'all.

I had a hard time getting a good picture of these cards - the silver glitter card stock was reflecting into the camera LOL!

I used the Simon Says Stamp Corbel Ornament Collage die, and did exactly what I told y'all I wanted to do with it when I showed it in a haul video - and that is back it with glitter card stock ;).

I finished off the insides of these cards with a die cut Merry Christmas sentiment and that was it! I think these would be fabulous paired with SSS's Schoolhouse Red envelopes - of course I think of that after I finished uploading the video and editing all the pictures..... :P ;)

I know right? AMAZING group of talent - I'm so stoked to be a part of it! :) :) :)

 

I couldn't not use the new Limited Edition Card Kit (I did an unboxing video of it here if you missed it) - which is selling out quickly! Once it's sold out it's gone, however a lot of the elements in this kit are available individually - so I linked to everything I could in the supplies below.

I used the new Swell Christmas stamp set along with several elements from the Holiday Kit to make my card - and ended up creating a way to incorporate a gift card:

 

 

I am loving these new mini envelopes the Simon's released lately, and thought it would be fun to use one on my card front and still make it "usable" so that a gift card could be tucked inside.

 

 

I used Prismacolor Pencils to color in the Santa image, which I'd stamped onto Neenah Desert Storm card stock with SSS Intense black ink. I fussy cut out the image then edged it with a black marker before adhering it to my card with a bit of foam tape. I applied the tape only to the right side of the image so that the flap of the envelope can be tucked under it to hold it in place.

 

 

I finished off the inside of the card with a stamped sentiment from the same set and stamped the snowflakes from the set with SSS Clear Ink and that was it!
