Hello everyone!!! I'm SO excited to be participating in Simon Says Stamp's STAMPtember® Blog Hop! If you didn't get here from Yana's blog I'll have a linked list of all the stops near the end of this post!
For those that aren't aware - STAMPtember® is a HUGE month-long event that Simon Says Stamp puts on. There's tons of new products released, along with a bunch of exclusive collaboration products between SSS and other stamp companies that come out throughout the month. There are giveaways too (info on a BIG one at the end of this post!). It's a lot of fun and it's just awesome to see everyone get excited about STAMPtember® and see all these companies getting together and supporting each other. I'm very honoured to be a part of it!
So - on to what I made. My original ideas I had brewing when I was contemplating projects for this post took on a mind of their own. I ended up using the Running With Your Heart stamp set and Abstract Triangles Background stamp to make cards that can double as art/inspiration/motivation pieces:
I stamped the larger images from the set onto Canson XL watercolour paper with SSS Clear Ink and embossed them with SSS Antique Gold Detail Embossing Powder.
I used my Mission Gold watercolours to create the backgrounds around the embossed images - I LOVE how the colors pooled and dried around the stamped images!
I am in LOVE with the new Abstract Triangles background - my original plan was to make cards focused on just that but I got sidetracked with these great images in the Running With Your Heart set LOL! After embossing those main images with the Antique Gold EP I started thinking how amazing the background stamp would look on black card stock with the same embossing powder - so that's what I did.
I popped both watercolour pieces onto their card bases with a bunch of foam tape, and added one more sentiment to the first card to finish it off.
I kept the insides of the cards really clean and simple and just stamped a sentiment each that I embossed with the same EP. Normally I line dark card stock card bases with white or lighter paper, but this time I wanted the black with the embossed sentiment. I would use a bright gel pen to write inside them so that the recipient will be able to read it.
