MFT Fly By Friends | Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens | Wink of Stella Watercolor

Well this week is still going strong - this will be card and video #3! And these are the first cards I've actually made in over a week - the previous posts were made a couple weeks ago then I went through a funk last week and just struggled! BUT the great thing about the weekly Color Throwdown Challenge is it always (for me anyway) gets my creative juices flowing again!

Here's the challenge for this week:

Love these colors, and of course the flowers spoke to me so this is what I came up with:

MFT's April release is now available (more on that at the end of the post) and this new set by Lisa Johnson is ADORABLE. I LOVE the flowers in the set, and the bees (which strangely I didn't use here - I'll have to make another card I guess!).

I used so many products on this card it's kind of ridiculous. My mind was going in so many directions when I was creating and I was just having fun with it all.

I started with the background and used Distress Crayons (I still don't feel they're a MUST-have for me/my style of crafting - but I've got them so I may as well use them!) and embossing paste over a stencil.

The images were white heat embossed onto Strathmore Cold Press 140b watercolour paper, then coloured with my Clean Color markers. Rather than use a paintbrush or a water brush to move the color around - I used my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter brush instead. I show in the video how I refilled my "empty" one with water and trust me they're NOT empty once you use up the liquid in them. There is a TON of shimmer left in it. I've heard of people refiling them more than once and always assumed that was getting a little ridiculous (aka cheap! LOL) but I wonder now if there will still be a bunch of shimmer after I use up this one..... we'll just have to wait and see!
