SSS Love Bouquet | Distress Re inkers | AmyR Valentine Series #16

Hey everyone!

It's time for this weeks challenge on The Color Throwdown blog:

I LOVE this color combo - and of course the inspiration pic screams Valentine to me so I couldn't stop myself from making another one for the series:

I used Distress Reinkers to create the background - I wanted INTENSE color and reinkers definitely helped achieve that LOL! I used Spun Sugar, Seedless Preserves and Picked Raspberry.

I finally got a chance to use the SSS Love Bouquet Die on a card - and used a spray adhesive for the first time too. I will admit I'm not the biggest fan of spray adhesives (hence why I've never used them 'till now) b/c of the smell but for intricate die cuts like this it makes it SO much quicker and easier to get them adhered!!

I finished off the inside and mentioned in the video how the glitter die cut heart was an afterthought. When I was cleaning up my desk after making the card the heart was sitting here and I didn't want to toss it (well I would have tossed it in my gold glitter cardstock scrap folder - not in the garbage!) so instead I pried up part of the love die cut and adhered it underneath it.

Simon Says Stamp Haul #23 Video

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Before I post the actual haul video I wanted to let y'all know that if you aren't already following my Prairie Paper & Ink Facebook page you should! MFT Undeniable Chemistry | Distress Inks | AmyR Valentine Series #15

I hope y'all had a great weekend! For those like me that aren't into the game here's yet another card for my Valentine series - and yet another one in no way Valentine "themed":

I used MFT's Undeniable Chemistry stamp set and coordinating Chemistry Set Die-namics along with Distress Inks and had some fun!

I had fun with the vellum and (of course) the sequins too on this one.

Avery Elle Crazy | Gansai Tambi Watercolor | AmyR Valentine Series #14

Hey everyone! Crazy to believe this week is almost over and that we're almost through the first week of February already!

I'm still on my Valentine Series kick - tho so many of the cards in this series can totally be used any time throughout the year - I'd get sick of making this many all specifically Valentine/love/heart-themed etc etc LOL!

I made 2 cards today, same sort of idea but different color schemes and different ways of adding the sentiment.

I went completely nuts on this one and just kept adding and adding watercolour and splatter - I probably should have stopped at some point but I was having fun and that's the point isn't it? wink

I love stacking die cut sentiments like this - it's not something I do very often but it's a simple technique and the result is always so cool.

For my second card I practiced a little "less is more" LOL!

Someone may have to stage an intervention with me and the PPP Sparkling Clear Mix sequins - I'm adding them to everything and can't stop!

I finished off the insides of the cards by painting the same watercolours onto the crazy stamp and stamping it onto pieces of watercolour paper before adhering that to the inside of the cards.

Mama Elephant I Like You | Gansai Tambi Watercolors | AmyR Valentine Series #13

Hello everyone! I'm still making Valentine-themed cards - I'll be posting them right up 'till the day comes I'm sure - though I think so many of the ones I've shared in this series work well all year and aren't specifically VALENTINE-y - but that's not the case today LOL:

I wanted to play with watercolour and was having a hard time decided what stamps to use and trying to narrow it down so I finally decided on the I Like You set from Mama Elephant. I STILL had trouble narrowing it down so instead I made several mini cards from a sheet of watercolour card stock that I cut up with one of the dies from MFT's Wonky Stitched Rectangles STAX Die-namics (kind of obsessed with those lately if you haven't noticed).

I used my Gansai Tambi watercolours for these, and added some gold splatter at the end to finish them off - you can see it all in my video below:

SSS Send My Love | Color Throwdown 378 | AmyR Valentine Series #12

Is it just me or has it been a really long week already? It's technically only Tuesday evening as I'm typing this up but it FEELS like it's at least Thursday :P.

On a very happy note though - I had so much fun last month guest designing for the Color Throwdown Challenge blog that they asked if I'd like to join their team and I said yes! I'd made the decision to make a lot more cards this year and I found this weekly challenge really inspires me so doing it every week should be fun!

I took it literal this week LOL:

I pulled out a bunch of SSS dies and stamps to make this card - and decorated the envelope too while I was at it.

I had a mishap when making this card - I left it in the video and showed how I fixed it. Note to self to be a little more careful with the blade on my paper trimmer - for someone who knows better and has used a trimmer like this for years it was a careless move - but I put a bandaid on and fixed the card and kept crafting b/c I was in the zone LOL!

I finished off the inside of the card with another die cut sentiment and some remaining die cut hearts along with a stamped sentiment to complete it and that was it!
