MFT November Release Countdown Day 3: Paper Quilts

I made 3 cards for today's post - and might post more later b/c I was on a total roll and really having fun!

MFT Nov Day 3 Card by AmyR

I used the new Diagonal Quilt Square Cover-Up Die-namics and basically just die cut several different pieces of patterned paper and card stock, mixed them all up then proceeded to make a bunch of paper quilts!

I like the idea of quilting and have thought about getting into it - but the time/effort/money/space needed is just something I can't swing. So for me this is the next best thing LOL! I can make 'em out of paper and put them on a card and that makes me happy ;).

The first and last cards are 4.25" square cards and this one is a standard A2.

All the sentiments are from the new Let's Get Cozy stamp set which compliments this Die-namics set perfectly.

I added enamel dots from my stash, and some baker's twine to this last card to embellish them a little. Other than that I let the "paper quilts" stand out as they're busy and fun on their own IMO!

CAS Mass-Producible Christmas Card

Well, I think y'all have noticed my stampin' "mojo" has been coming back en force, and it feels good!

I'm still trying to find TIME to create, and that's actually what led to this card today LOL! The thought popped in my head while I was cleaning up my desk, and since I had most of the supplies already sitting out ready at hand I made this card:

I only used 2 stamp sets - the soon-to-be-released Winter Warmth set and last month's Joyous Christmas Sentiments for the greeting.

I used to LOVE creating my own patterned paper with stamps - it feels like it's been a long time since I've done it. I pulled out a bunch of different ink colors and stamped away. I added some splatters by mixing Cherry Crisp ink with a bit of water then picking it up with a paintbrush and flicking it over the card stock (and everywhere else it seems - when I cleaned up after this card I found ink everywhere LOL!). I also added some green splatter to finish it off.

I then used the large die from the Blueprints 2 Die-namics to cut out my "patterned paper" but you could skip this step if you wanted. I just love using that die for the perfect edge it gives.

I stamped the sentiment and adhered the panel to my card base and done! This could be EASILY mass produced and with it being flat you can mail it without paying any extra postage. 

I was going to go further with this card and emboss the sentiment on vellum and add embellishments - but that's the beauty of it. You can keep it Clean and Simple like this or take it further and "dress it up" - so fun!

MFT November Release Countdown Day 4: Moose You

My card today is a clean and simple one - I had another idea in my head when I started and then it morphed into this card LOL!

The new Merry Christmoose stamp set is SO adorable - how could you not love this little character?

I used my Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol to color in the image, and used dimensionals to adhere him.

The new Peek-a-Boo Wonky Windows Die-namics were used on the card base so that you can see in to the inside of the card. Fun and easy!

To finish off the inside I coloured the tree image and adhered that so that it was viewed through the die cut window, then added another sentiment from the set and that was it!

MFT November Release Countdown Day 5: Let's Get Toasty

I CAN'T believe it's the end of October already!! This month flew by faster than anything it seems - and yet that's a good thing because it brings us to another MFT release countdown and there are a lot of fun goodies to share *wink*!

I used the new Get Toasty stamp set and Toasted Marshmallows Die-namics for this card. I have a feeling my kids are going to LOVE these b/c it's one of their favourite things to do - toasting marshmallows over a fire outside is something I get asked for all summer long LOL!

I created the background on watercolour card stock with my Gansai Tambo watercolours, then once it was dry I stamped the sentiment and added the die cuts and some enamel dots to finish it off.

I sponged the marshmallows with Kraft and Chocolate Brown dye inks to make them look as close to the "real" thing as possible before adhering them with dimensionals and that was it!

Gold Tags

I still have some fun embossed snowflakes sitting on my desk - if you missed the video for those you can check it out here:

Anywho - I wanted to make something and ended up making this little set of tags using my Delicate Golden Glitz ink (LOVE!), and to make them even more shimmery I brushed gold Perfect Pearls powder over the ink before it dried:

I sponged on the gold ink with my mini blending tool, then brushed on the gold Perfect Pearls. After that I stamped the sentiments with Black Licorice Hybrid ink, adhered the snowflakes and added some black baker's twine to finish them off.

Frap Treat Card

Well I actually made another card! I'm still a little surprised myself at that LOL! I don't have a video for this one as a lot of it was made with elements I had sitting here from other projects and ideas just started flowing and before I knew it I had a card sitting here.

I still love the Cool Cup Die-namics along with the Stay Cool stamp set - seriously so much fun to be had with them IMO. I had this die cut cup sitting here from a previous card I'd made earlier this month. I'd added some Gansai Tambi water color to watercolour paper (brown and white from the big palette I have), let it dry then die cut it with the Cool Cup Die-namics. In my head I was going for an "ice coffee swirled with cream sort of look" and it worked!

I dabbed a sponge dauber with Chocolate Brown ink on the "whip cream" to look like coca (or cinnamon - whatever you prefer - I prefer cinnamon with my toppings :P ;)) was sprinkled on top.

I used MFT's Gold Foil card stock for the star embellishments - total pat on my back for that idea LOL. I wanted to add some sort of embellishment then saw the star dies in the Blueprints 13 Die-namics that I had out for this card. I then remembered the "stars" I earn with my Starbucks app (b/c I'm one of those people and am somewhat addicted) so I thought that'd be a rather fitting embellishment ;) ;). 

It's hard to capture the "lid" on camera - I die cut it from a transparency, then adhered it with some Multi Medium Matte applied along the base of it - if you apply the adhesive evenly it doesn't show up that much at all.

I finished off the inside with another sentiment from the Stay Cool set and some more foil stars and that was it!

Snowflake Cards

OK I'm back! This post doesn't have a video - BUT there will be a video showing the fourth card in this "set" uploaded (hopefully?) later today. I just thought I'd post these in the meantime as it's going to take a few hours to upload the video, and I didn't want to make that blog post too long!

I keep sounding like a broken record but I seriously LOVE the Snowflake Flurry stamp set and Die-namics from MFT! I could play with them forever it seems and keep coming up with new ideas!

Also in love with the gold shine card stock from MFT -it's sooooooo pretty! I mentioned in the video that it's not quite as reflective as the gold foil card stock - gold foil is more of a mirror finish whereas this gold shine is not quite as "mirror-like" - but it's just pretty!

I'm also loving MFT's Hand Lettered Holiday stamp set - such a nice font combo and lots of sentiments in the set.

As I said I made a set of 4 cards - 2 landscape and 2 portrait orientation. It was just more fun that way to mix them up and make them all different but still coordinating. Sometimes mass-producing the same card over and over again can get boring - something like this makes it all a little more fun and unique ;).

This pic was the best one I got to show how pretty the Delicate Golden Glitz ink is. It's SO hard to capture on camera but trust me if you don't own it you should! It's got the most gorgeous shimmer to it - I haven't used it in the longest time and pulled it out for these cards and fell in love with it all over again!

Heat Embossed Snowflakes - Video

Hey hey everyone! I've got a crafty video to share! I FINALLY had a little bit of time to get creative - and remembered to film - so here's the process.

I'm hoping I'll have at least one more video to share showing the card(s!) that I've made using these snowflakes posted within the next day or two. I decided to split up the process because this video was starting to get long and I made a LOT of snowflakes - so I can just refer back to this video with the future posts! :) :) :)

I am in LOVE with MFT's new Snowflake Flurry and Snowflake Flurry Die-namics. When I'd posted cards using it for the October countdown I had a lot of questions about embossing on vellum. So I decided to show that in this video, plus emboss them on some foil card stock and regular card stock as well. Aren't they gorgeous?

Life Update October 2015 Video

Hello everyone! It's been a while (as usual) since I've posted. Life is still a crazy balancing act but I'm getting there with trying to find more time to post on here and do videos!

I got this one done anyway after multiple attempts - so frustrating LOL! But now it's done so here is another random ramble from me:

I updated my profile pic to a much more recent one and had my whole color scheme re-worked to a much more "me in 2015" sort of scheme. It makes me happy and a nice way to freshen things up!

MFT October New Product Launch

For today's cards I used the new Crosshatch Background and Fireplace Die-namics:

Instead of creating a Christmas-themed card with the fireplace I went neutral and left off any sentiments - leaving this card open to be used for multiple occasions (new home, thinking of you, etc etc).

The mantle was looking a little bare so I created the "vases" by using the Cheers Glass Charms Die-namics and cutting off the stems and sponging them with ink. 

For my second card I went with a totally different theme:

I used a bunch of new products on this card and just had fun with it. The Cool Cup Die-namics was die cut from watercolour card stock after I'd added brown and white watercolours to make it look like cream swirled in (ice ;)) coffee.

I LOVE the Field Green color of ink and card stock because it's the perfect shade of green for a certain brand of coffee that I am personally addicted to LOL!

I finished off the inside with a sentiment from the older Perk Up stamp set and some stamped snowflakes and that was it!

MFT Haul! Video

OY - I'd meant to post this a few days ago but as usual - life! And don't forget to come back in a few hours (10pm EST) to see the MFT New Product Launch post with giveaway info *wink*!

Anyway here is a fun MFT haul video - so many new goodies. I mention Periscope in the video - it's a new app that many of us crafters are into. Basically the ability to stream live videos - so I go on there and chat quite often - sometimes stamping/crafty chats, more often totally random personal stuff LOL! I love love LOVE the new Snowflake Flurry stamp set!! I have a "thing" for snowflake stamps as I think they're so pretty and they're perfect for accenting cards and using with all sorts of techniques.

I stamped the snowflakes onto watercolor card stock with Versamark then embossed them with detail white embossing powder. After that I smushed Sno Cone, Summer Splash and Blu Raspberry dye inks onto my craft mat and pressed the card stock into it multiple times to create the look you see here.

I stamped more snowflakes onto vellum die cuts and embossed those as well and adhered a few to the card front - love!

I used the new Joyous Christmas Sentiments set on the outside and inside of the card and am so loving that set too. It's so big and bold - really fun!

MFT October Release Countdown Day 2: Merry Christmas Centrepieces

I made a fun shaker card with the new Merry Christmas Centrepieces Die-namics - again I am ALL about being able to whip up cards with products that do most of the work LOL! And then when you want to add in more stamping/embellishments/etc etc you totally can and make a completely different creation - the sky is the limit with card making!

I stamped the new Crosshatch Background onto the Field Day card stock just to add some pattern to the background, then the confetti was all die cut from different colors of MFT card stock. I added in a bit or iridescent Martha Stewart star glitter just for fun and that was it!
