MFT May Countdown Day 5: Thank You

It's that time of the month again! Another MFT release is only a few days away and as always this is going to be a great one ;). Make sure to check out MFT's blog post for all the info for today along with links to all the other DT member's blog posts.

I am slowly attempting to get my mind back to card-making. With a newborn at home (he's 2 weeks old already!) plus everything else it's been a struggle LOL! So I kept it simple for today and used the new Blueprints 25 Die-namics along with some sentiments and stamped stars from the new For the Boys stamp set:

I really like that the new For the Boys set isn't 100% FOR the boys - there are some great sentiments/sentiment combos that can be used for anyone. Even a card like this can be masculine or just given to anyone when the need arises :).

I finished off the inside with another sentiment from the For the Boys set and added some more stamped stars and the leftover die cut stars from the Blueprints 25 Die-namics and that was it!

SimonSaysStamp Haul #15 VIDEO

Hello everyone :)

I haven't felt up to doing any "Life Update" videos etc yet - they take a fair bit of time to film and I haven't found that time yet! ;)

I'm slooowwwllyy getting back to the crafty side of things (a lot of that can be done here and there as I have a spare few mins). I participated in the SSS Mega Blog Hop on Friday (THANK YOU for all your sweet comments!) and then filmed a quick haul video as a package had arrived and it was fun to dive into some new crafty goodies. As for when I'll actually get to USE them well….. we'll see LOL.

SSS Falling For You MEGA Blog Hop!!

Hello everyone! I'm jumping back in to card making (for a moment anyway - I'm still adjusting to a newborn and all that fun stuff :D, the little man was a week old yesterday!) to participate in the Simon Says Stamp Mega blog hop for the new Falling For You release!

I started by stamping the word LOVE using the new SSS Dotted Letters set with Versamark ink and embossing it with detail white embossing powder (detail powder being key with a set like this as it helps keep the detail of all the little dots).

I then used the new Falling Backgrounds set, and inked up the hearts stamp with Memento Love Letter ink. Once those were all stamped I sponged on Spun Sugar Distress ink so that the LOVE would pop out more.

I finished off the sentiment by adding the die cut "Sending" that I layered 2 of together and coated with my Pico Shimmer Embellisher. The "YOU" is from the Sending and Wishing set - I inked up just that word and embossed it on the black card stock before trimming the flag ends with scissors.

The black and white striped background was created with the new Diagonal Stripes background stamp - I stamped it with Versamark on the black card stock and embossed it with the white embossing powder.

I finished off the inside by stamping the hearts again but this time with the Spun Sugar Distress ink as it's lighter so a message can be written over it no problem.

He's here! Quick video

I just posted this on YouTube and thought I'd put it here too for those that might have missed my earlier announcement :) I had a photographer come in to the hospital to capture some moments with my little man and his sisters getting to meet him for the first time. So SO glad I did it as I've got some wonderful pictures and memories captured - in a 1000x better way than I could take with my phone camera LOL!

Gavin Xavier was born April 16 weighing in at 8lbs4oz. He's absolutely perfect and we're doing REALLY well. His big sisters are overjoyed that he's here and have been loving on him from the moment they met him ;). We're back home and settling in and I will be back posting soon - not sure about videos and whatnot as I'm just taking it all a day at a time! <3 <3 <3

MFT April Creative Construction with Blueprints: Sweet Scallops

Hello everyone! This month's challenge for the MFT Design Team's Creative Construction with Blueprints was scallops - a LOT of the Blueprints Die-namics sets have some great scalloped dies in them.

I haven't been making many cards lately while I get myself and my house ready for the impending arrival of this baby (and deal with life in general) but this was a challenge I could definitely play along with. The Blueprints Die-namics make it pretty easy IMO to create with as SO much of the work is done for you.

I zeroed in on one of my favorite sets (which I get asked a lot, besides Set 1 and 2 which are go-to's for me for layering, I really love this set too!) which is Blueprints 14. I ended up making 2 cards with it - the first one following one of the sketches MFT provides with their digital downloads and then one just using some of the elements from the set.

While I was at it I played along with the latest MFT Color Challenge - that's another way to get a creative boost when you're feeling stuck or uncreative like I've been feeling lately LOL:

I used the new Garden Flourish background stamp on the Summer Splash card stock with Summer Splash ink, and stamped the sentiment onto the Whip Cream card stock with the same ink.

The flower is from the Blueprints set and I attached the button with one of my red line stickies I get from Jody - those things are SUPER-adhesive and perfect for things like buttons and hemp!

I finished off the inside with stamps from the Friends Like Us set - another favorite of mine.

On my second card I stamped the Simply Circles background onto the Nightshift Blue card stock with the same ink (sorry my camera took it up as REALLY dark - so annoying), and stamped another sentiment from the new True Friends stamp set with the same ink. I added a couple of the scalloped strips that I due cut from Sour Apple and Summer Splash card stock, and a little flower embellishment made with one of the dies from the Blueprints 14 set along with a button and some hemp.

I finished off the inside with another sentiment from the Friends Like Us set (one of my favorites LOL) and stamped hearts from the True Friends set and that was it!

Stamping Bella Haul #5 Video

Thanks for all the well-wishes on my last post (if you missed it you can scroll down or click HERE). I got a bunch of new Stamping Bella stamps and filmed a quick haul video before putting everything away (by that I mean piling them all up on a shelf to be organized later LOL). Checkin' In

Hey everyone :).

No baby yet - still a little left to go - I'm 38 1/2 weeks! But for those that don't follow me on Instagram (which is what I tend to update the most frequently as it's convenient), I had the wonderful stomach flu visit the house over the Easter holidays.

Needless to say it was a week of hell. Katelyn got it first and it lasted for 3 days (poor kid), and I was run off my feet. Then *I* got it and am at least thankful mine only lasted 24 hours - believe me having the stomach flu at 38 weeks pregnant is not an experience I would wish on ANYONE. I already hadn't slept in 3 days and getting sick myself made it a record 4 days of NO sleep. I am SO thankful my mom was able to take my kids during my sick day so I could concentrate on not dying (somewhat an exaggeration but seriously it was awful). My oldest ended up getting it the day after me but hers was also short-lived. I did more loads of laundry than I thought possible this week!!

So between that and the fact that I am at the stage where I'm feeling pretty uncomfortable and just outright TIRED (without having to deal with sick kids and sick self!) I haven't been feeling too creative. That plus I'm finding sitting at my computer or sitting at my craft desk to be only tolerable for short amounts of time.

Anywho that's what's been going on in my life - laundry, sickness, attempting to get things cleaned and organized before baby gets here etc etc. I'm definitely a LOT more prepared around the house this time versus when I had Katelyn (those that remember we were right in the middle of studio renovations and moving my salon and didn't even have the crib put together yet - it was massive chaos). I learned my lesson from that time so I've had the baby's room ready to go for a couple of weeks now and won't have to dig through boxes trying to find baby things and put them together LOL!

I will be back with cards here on the blog soon though - possibly a video or two too - it just depends on how I'm feeling and whatnot. Now that everyone is feeling better and I'm back to getting *some* things accomplished the creative juices just might start flowing again ;). And when the baby arrives of course I'll be letting y'all know on here and on my Instagram/Facebook/YouTube accounts ;) ;).

I used the new Simply Circles Background with Berrylicious ink on Berrylicious card stock then created a little scene with the new Tweet on You stamp set and Die-namics.

I die cut a circle from Smooth White card stock and sponged it with Sno Cone and Berrylicious ink before adding the coloured and die cut Tweet on You images.

And then finished off the inside of the card with the second sentiment from the set along with a couple of stamped birdies and that was it!

Well I didn't escape the stomach flu like I'd hoped - I've spent the entire day in bed and feel HORRIBLE. Now all I can hope for is that my 2 older girls don't get it. These past 4/5 days have been beyond rough for me :(.

MFT April Release Countdown Day 2: Tweet on You

We're getting really close to MFT's April Release! Check out their blog post for all of today's info plus links to the other DT member's blog posts.

Today's card is SUPER-simple - one stamp set (the new Tweet on You stamp set - SO cute) and minimal supplies. It's a 4-Bar size which makes the images pop out a bit more IMO.

Nothing like a quick and easy card - and after the weekend I've had that's about all I could manage (dealing with a toddler with the stomach flu - poor kid. She's getting over it all now but I am EXHAUSTED. I haven't slept much in 3 days and done more laundry and given more baths than I thought possible - all while 38 weeks preggo - so doubly-exhausted. REALLY hoping we're over it and I can get some sleep tonight! Oh and keeping my fingers crossed that the rest of us don't get it - one was enough thank-you-very-much).

Anywho that's it for me - I am about 10 seconds from crawling into bed! :)

MFT April Release Countdown Day 3: I Dig You

Well we're already down to Day 3 of the MFT April release countdown! Make sure to check out MFT's blog post for all the sneak peek info and whatnot plus links to all the other DT member's blog posts :).

I HAD to use the You Gnome Me set again - I just can't put it away. I paired it with the new Spring Garden Die-namics and the Stitched Basic Edges Die-namics to create today's little scene.

I sponged Sno Cone dye ink onto the smooth white card stock to create the sky, and die cut the Sour Apple card stock with one of the Stitched Basic Edges Die-namics to create the ground.

I finished off the inside with one of the sentiments from the You Gnome Me set and then adhered the die cut tools from the Spring Garden Die-namics under it and that was it!

MFT April Release Countdown Day 4: Hello Gnome

We're down to Day 4 for MFT's April Release - make sure to check out MFT's blog for all of today's products being shown (plus all the review videos from myself) as well as all the links to the other DT member's blog posts!

How CUTE is this new You Gnome Me set from Birdie Brown?? I seriously giggled when I first got it it's just adorable and totally cracks me up. I can totally see myself becoming one of those people that has a yard full of garden gnomes hidden all over the place for no reason at all....

Anywho - I used one of the gnomes from the set and die cut him with the companion Die-namics set along with one of the little snails. I colored them both in with Copics, and created a scene for them with some of MFT's various Die-namics.

All of which is popped up on foam tape on a Kraft card stock card base.

The sentiment was stamped and embossed with detail white embossing powder, and I added a few enamel dots to finish it off.

I finished off the inside by stamping one of the sentiments from the set in Black Licorice ink and then stamped another of the gnomes from the set with Kraft ink above it and that was it!

MFT April Release Countdown Day 5: You're the Sweetest

It's countdown time!! This month's MFT release is SUPER-fun - so many awesome new products (I know I say that every month don't I - but it's true!). Make sure to check out MFT's blog for all the info today kicking off the countdown plus links to all the other DT member's blog posts to see what they've made.

For my card I'm using the new Blueprints 24 Die-namics set that I combined with the new You're the Sweetest stamp set, Sweet Treats Die-namics and Simply Circles background stamp.

I used my Pico Embellisher on the"chocolate fudge" topping of the ice cream cone - and I purposely didn't shake it up as I've only got the sparkle one and I didn't want sparkly fudge LOL. So it came out clear and it was perfect :).

I finished off the inside by stamping the cone and ice cream from the set along with the Thank You sentiment and that was it!

Life Update: 37 Weeks Video

Here it is finally :) - lots of people requesting another update and wondering what's going on. Honestly not a whole lot other than life LOL. I'm still hanging in there - just super crazy busy and tired!

So here's my rambling random update - I'm sure I forgot a million things to tell y'all but like I say in the video I filmed this after a loooonnnggg day in the city and was so exhausted, but at least it's another thing off my to-do list ;)

ETA: Just an FYI - y'all can keep checking in as I'm not planning on taking any time off from my blog/YouTube channel etc etc. When I said in the video that I'm not posting another Life Update video 'till after the baby comes it was just THAT type of video - not everything in general. I'll still be posting *somewhat* regularly on here and doing card videos and all that as time allows me. I'll be busy of course but I'm ALWAYS busy LOL!

Also I do a lot of this as a job, and being self-employed means there's no benefits or paid time off. So I do what I have to to pay the bills and put food on the table ;). Of course it all depends on what happens when the baby arrives but the great thing about what I do is that I'm able to do it around all the chaos and at odd hours and whatnot. I love what I do - being creative is a BIG stress-reliever for me as well - so I'll keep posting on here as much as I can!! :D
