Hello everyone! Today's post is another new MFT challenge that started last month featuring creations made with MFT's Blueprints Die-namics. Make sure you check out their blog post for all the info for today plus links to all the other DT member's blog posts to see what they've come up with!
The challenge for this month was to "frame" it and focused on a few different Blueprints sets that contain frame elements:
I made 2 different cards - and normally one of them would focus on one of the layouts MFT provides as a free digital download with all the different Blueprints Die-namics (there is a PDF with 4 different layouts provided with each set of Blueprints) - but I totally spaced on that and did my own thing for both cards. My preggo brain can only handle so much it seems (which is silly b/c it makes it EASIER to follow the layout as it's one major element taken care of :P - oh well!).
Anywho here's the first card I made:
I started off with Blueprints 17 as my card base - and since it's meant to be an easel/chalkboard I decided to use Black Licorice card stock and stamp the new PI Bear Hugs image with Sweet Tooth pigment ink to make it look like it was drawn in chalk.
I added bits of color with my Prismacolor pencils - again to make it look like it was coloured with chalk. So fun and easy. The sentiment comes on two lines in this set but I cut it apart and stamped it on a die cut banner (die is from the Blueprints 16 set) before adhering it to the card.
I finished off the inside of the card by lining it with a black piece of card stock (with the intention to write with a while gel pen - I thought that would tie it all together nicely!) and stamping another sentiment from the Bear Hugs set onto an oval die cut from the BP 17 Die-namics.
4.75" square card
For my second card I combined Blueprints 19 and 2 together, and used the new Somebunny stamp set and Die-namics (which yes is sold out at the moment but should be back in stock soon!).
Since I still had my Prismacolor pencils sitting out I decided to use them to color in all the images, and I didn't use any Gamsol to blend but rather variated the pressure to create lighter and darker areas with the pencils.
I lined the inside of the card with the die cut left over from cutting the frame for the outside, added a stamped and die cut sentiment and another bunny and that was it!
