I Love You....& Donuts: Valentine 2015 Card Series Video #7

Skip to the jump if you don't want to read my blabber about program/video issues LOL:

SO glad it's the weekend. We're still in the middle of a deep freeze up here (as in -40C and whatnot with the windchill - at one point we hit -50C - so COLD) so I've been stuck in my house for a week :P - but that means extra craft time LOL! It's supposed to start warming up a bit here next week so we'll see!

I got another card made for my Valentine series along with a video - I've mentioned a couple times now in my videos all my technology struggles lately with my upgrade on my Mac to Yosemite (total regret there) and upgrading my iMovie program to the newest version (biggest regret there!). I've been muddling along trying to figure things out, it doesn't help that I also got a new microphone at the same time so that's been something to figure out and adjust to.

Anywho - iMovie does NOT like me and has decided to start crashing during voiceovers - so I apologize if I sound frustrated/angry at all during the video! I really WAS ready to pull my hair out - I had to repeat myself a good 5 or 6 times before I finally got it to work. SO frustrating.

I only share all this b/c #1 it contributes to what it all is I DO, and #2 I get asked a lot what programs I use and what process I go through to make videos - so I share it here so y'all know it's not always a walk in the park LOL! My hubby got me a new video editing program for Christmas (Final Cut Pro) that is on my list to figure out how to use - I'm more determined than ever now to start learning how to use it and get away from iMovie (which is a great program once you know how to use it but I'm just getting beyond frustrated with the glitches in this upgrade!).

OK on to the card!

Even though I included this in my Valentine series this could totally be an "anytime" sort of card. I used Simon Says Stamps' I Love Donuts set along with some patterned paper from Doodlebug's Sugar Shoppe 6x6 collection - totally a match made in Heaven LOL.

I also used a somewhat new to me product on the donut "glaze" - Tsukineko's Shimmer Pico Embellisher. I go into a bit of a review/how-to on it in the video - but let me say I think it's really cool. The applicator tip is SUPER-fine on these things (they come in multiple colors), and it's a pretty thin consistency so it dries really quickly! THAT made me happy - I tend to make cards and whatnot at the last minute and want to get pics taken and all that jazz and don't have the time/patience to let things dry - that's why I don't use Glossy Accents as often as I want. This dried in under 1/2 an hour or so (might take longer in a warmer/humid climate) which is so quick and fun. I'm tempted to get more of them now...

Bellarffic Friday Jan 9 2015: Featured Stamp of the Month

Hello everyone! It's the first Bellariffic Friday post of 2015, and this week's challenge was anything goes.

On top of that the entire Stamping Bella Design Team is showcasing this month's featured Stamp of the Month: GRACIE. This stamp is 20% off for the month of January.

I combined GRACIE with Copic markers, and Basic Grey patterned papers along with MFT's Stitched Rounded Rectangle STAX Die-namics.

After I'd finished coloring in the image I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and sponged Distress Ink in Scattered Straw all around the image.

I kept the inside of the card really simple and just used up the patterned papers I had used on the card front and that was it!

MFT January Release Rewind: Valentine 2015 Video #6

We're already at the point where MFT's January products are live and now it's time for the Design Team to play Release Rewind - giving us a chance to use some of the new products we haven't yet. Make sure you check out MFT's blog post for all the links to the other DT members playing along today (and tomorrow there will be a part 2 post with more so always worth bookmarking their blog! LOTS of inspiration there.)

My first card looks more intricate and time-consuming but it was literally a 10/15 minute card to whip up, and there was NO stamping involved LOL! This whole card is comprised of die cuts.

The new Fluttering Hearts Cover-Up Die-namics did most of the work - I pulled a few of them up here and there for the dimension and to see the red card stock layered underneath.

I added some heart die cuts I had sitting around to some of the "flat" hearts, and die cut a few more from some sparkle card stock from my stash (Michaels). The I Love You arrow is from the new Straight to my Heart Die-namics set and I framed it with a die cut heart from the new Pierced Heart STAX Die-namics set.

I finished off the inside with a couple more die cut arrows from the Straight to My Heart Die-namics set and adhered another die cut heart from Red Hot card stock over the black one and that was it!

As I was linking up all the supplies I used I realized I used a LOT of products on this card LOL! I was just having fun creating and reaching for whatever - and was happy with the end result!

I did some emboss resist and ink blending to create the ombre background with the new Tiny Hearts Background stamp and three different MFT dye inks (Pink Lemonade, Bubblegum, Razzle Berry).

NEW MFT January Products Available NOW!

I'm back with another MFT January post - if you're reading this it means the new January products are available NOW in the MFT store!

I'm focusing on the new Love Center-pieces Die-namics for all 3 of my cards - and the first 2 are shaker cards. I made them in different ways and it was easier to show/explain via video so check that out below if you're interested in seeing how they came together.

For this first card I made a "traditional" shaker card with layers of foam tape and transparencies (any office supply store carries them - I've had mine for forever) that sandwich some glitter and die cut hearts and XOXO's from the Love Center-pieces Die-namics.

I finished off the inside with a sentiment from the All My Love stamp set and a die cut heart.

Card #2 is a "flat" shaker card that doubles as a window - love that you can see the inside of the card through all the glitter and little die cut pieces.

I adhered the die cut "you" on the inside of the card so that it would show through the heart with the card closed.

For my third card I used some of the leftover die cut pieces from the first 2 cards. I LOVE how this one turned out (no pun intended).

I stamped the heart with the Damask Background and Sno Cone pigment ink (loving the new pigment inks!!), and popped it up on dimensionals.

I used the same sentiment from the All My Love set that I used on the first card - but this time I cut it up to stamp it how I wanted it, and used the die cut heart to stamp the word "heart" onto it to finish off the card.

MFT January Countdown Day 1: Simple LOVE

My card today is SUPER-simple:

I used the new Love Die-namics to cut a window in my card front, then backed it with a piece of Cherry Crisp (one of the NEW colors) card stock that I'd stamped with the Damask Background using Cherry Crisp ink.

I was originally going to leave it as is but I wanted the "LOVE" to stand out a bit more - so I die cut it a second time from Grout Grey card stock and stamped it with Grout Grey ink and the Damask Background. After adhering it over the original die cut I liked that much better -still simple but not totally boring LOL!

I stamped the inside of the card with the Damask Background and Grount Grey ink - I can see this BG becoming a favorite in my stash. It is SO dainty and pretty. When I first saw the screenshot of it I wasn't that wow-ed - but when you actually USE it and ink it up it's THE prettiest background stamp ever! LOOOOVEEEE it <3.

Anywho - the sentiment is from the new Smitten with You stamp set and I stamped it with Cherry Crisp dye ink and Black Licorice hybrid ink and that finished it off!

MFT January Countdown Day 2: Cards for the Guys

I made 2 cards today using the new Level Up stamp set and Game Controller Die-namics stamp set:

I show in the MFT Game Controller product video how I put together these die cut controllers, and while I was at it I had enough "leftover" pieces to make 2 more full controllers - so I made 2 cards.

For this card I coated all the buttons on the controller with Glossy Accents and set it aside to dry. I also colored in the 2 "players" in the sentiment with Copic markers (BG57 and R27), and added some baker's twine in colors that matched the colored buttons on the controller.

On the inside of the card I adhered the matching smaller die cut controller and stamped another sentiment from the Level Up set.

For card #2 I used the Steel Grey die cut controller (you can better see the embossing lines from the dies than with the black) and popped it up on dimensionals with one of the birthday sentiments from the Level Up set.

To finish off the inside of this one I again used the coordinating smaller die cut controller and another birthday-related sentiment from the Level Up set and that was it!

For today's card I used the new Pure Innocence Heart Banner stamp set and coordinating Die-namics die.

I also used the largest heart from the new Stitchable Heart STAX Die-namics set, and the embossed background was created with the new Background Hearts Stencil (I show how I made that - then decided not to use it - in yesterday's video).

MFT January Countdown Day 4: AmyR's Valentine Cards 2015 Series Card #3

For today's card I paired the new Birdie Brown You Have My Heart stamp set with the Tag Builder Blueprints Die-namics that I showed yesterday. I also used the new Background Hearts stencil - which took a turn from my original design for this card (more on that in the video).

MFT January Countdown Day 5: Valentine Mini Cards

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a great NYE! The countdown starts now for all the new January MFT products that will be released on Tuesday - LOTS of goodies as usual ;).

Make sure to head on over to MFT's blog for all of today's sneak peeks with product videos, plus links to all the other DT member's blog posts to see what they've made.

I decided to keep it simple today and made a little batch of Valentine mini cards using the new Tag Builder Blueprints 3 Die-namics that I LOVE - and all it took was some card stock and glue:

I added some gold glitter card stock from my stash to jazz up some of the die cut words and hearts.

All of these followed the layouts MFT provides as a digital download - making it even faster to create. I added a few extra little elements and layers here and there for fun too.
