MFT December Countdown Day 2: Photo Booth

2 days to go 'till MFT's December release is available! There are SOOOO many awesome goodies in this release it's crazy (I feel that way every month it seems LOL) - make sure to check out MFT's blog post to see all the products and product videos for today!

Today's card started out much simpler in theory, and then I kept playing with it and adding to it and it's one of those *very* few times that more was better LMAO!

I used the new Photo Booth stamp set with the new Photo Booth Props Die-namics, along with the new Polaroid Cover-Up Die-namics and Zebra Background while I was at it.

The googly eyes were a total afterthought and I am SO glad I had them. I had shown the pack I got in a haul video some time ago - and remember saying that I had no idea what I would use the larger ones for. And then this happened and it was all too perfect. LOVE when that happens!

The mustache is coated with Tombow Mono Multi glue then I pressed black fun flock into it so it's all fuzzy - so hard to get a good picture of but in real life it looks all velvety - again too perfect.

And the bow tie HAD to be coated in Xmas Red Stickles - it just wouldn't "do" otherwise.

I used the extra piece from die cutting the card front on the inside of the card (why toss it?), and added another die cut and stamped sentiment from the set to finish it off. 

I think this could be a great tongue-in-cheek wedding card, or a great grad card for a guy, or really so many other occasions. It just makes me smile ;)

I paired them up with the new Polaroid Cover-Up Die-namics, Zebra Background stamp and one of the NEW colors - Limelight. Super bright lime green!

MFT December Countdown Day 4: Go With It

My card today is another quick and simple card using the new Go with It stamp set. If you watch the product video on MFT's blog today for this set you'll see most of it coming together ;).

I stamped the arrows from the stamp set with various MFT premium dye inks, then stamped one of the sentiments over them with MFT's Black Licorice hybrid ink.

I ran the strip of black card stock through my die cutting machine with the row of circles die from the new Blueprints 21 Die-namics before adhering it to the card front.

I finished off the inside with a die cut heart and stamped sentiment and arrow from the Go with It set and that was it!

Bellarfic Friday Nov 28: Christmas Card Series #12 Video

The challenge for this week's Bellarific Friday was to make a Holiday card - so this is what I came up with. There WILL be a video with this - once it's done uploading! Videos are taking FOREVER for me to upload (when I can I usually start the upload before heading to bed then deal with it in the morning) - I'm looking into options to help speed up the process but I've got limited time as it is and fiddling with technology is not one of my strong suits :P.

I used Stamping Bella's Reindeer with Birdie image and colored it in and watercolored it with my Inktense Pencils. I definitely need more practice with them :P.

I finished off the inside by stamping the image again with Sno Cone ink, then stamped sentiments from my Happy Holidays set with Nightshift Blue ink.

MFT December Countdown Day 5: Whimsical Wishes

My card for today is clean and simple - I'm using the new Peek-a-Boo Circle Window Die-namics with the new Whimsical Wishes stamp set.

I popped up the die cut card stock panel with some foam tape, and the black card stock was stamped and embossed with detail white embossing powder to make it pop.

I finished off the inside with the Happy Birthday stamp from the set along with the little flowers stamped in different colors and that was it! Quick and easy :).

November MFT Creative Challenge: Holiday Home Decor

It's that time of the month again - the MFT Design Team is participating in the latest Creative Challenge - which for this month was Holiday Home Decor :).

I had to make a Christmas banner to put up in the house - and I filmed a video for it to show how I made it:

I went with traditional red/white/green Christmas colors - normally I tend towards blue/silver/gold for my decor but I thought it would be fun to do something more "bright".

I used a bunch of MFT Die-namics dies to create everything and several background stamps to add patterns to all the banner pieces.

All of the letters were coated with Glitter Glaze - you see much better in the video how shiny and glittery it is!

Bellarific Friday Nov 21, 2014: Christmas Card Series #10 Video

This was a fun card to make - the majority of it all being coloring. And I got to use a (new-to-me) shimmer spritz product that I am now in LOVE with - I so wish I could do justice to it on camera! It's so pretty IRL!

Christmas Card Series #9 2014: Quick and Simple

This is a 4-Bar Sized Card

Today's card was super simple - definitely an under-10-minute sort of card :). I've had the idea of wanting to create a shimmery multi-colored sentiment for a couple of days now so I pulled out a couple of my sentiment sets and some VersaMark and sticky embossing powder and got to work.

I included a bunch of links to different sets of PearlEx powders and Perfect Pearl powders - any of them will work for this technique. The ones I used for this card are from the PearlEx Set 3 kit.

I also included a couple different brands of sticky embossing powder in the links as well - they all work the same as the one I use.

Christmas Card Series #8 2014: Mass-produced Wedding Invites

So I've FINALLY got around to sharing the wedding invites I made for close friends of ours a couple of months ago. It was a HUGE project and took up a lot of time when I was working on them. I had shared little tidbits here and there on my Instagram and Facebook page and got a bazillion requests to share all the info.

As I mention in the video I didn't originally film (or even photograph) the original set of invites I made - I ended up being so tired after it all that once they were done I packed 'em up and gave them to my friends for them to mail out and that was it. THEN they needed me to make more so I ended up filming and photographing this (much smaller) batch so I can finally share them all with y'all.

Other than the Whip Cream card stock mat the entire card front was composed of die cuts. I spent DAYS running card stock through the machine - it was definitely the most time consuming part of the process.

Other than the silver glitter paper (that I got from Michaels - it's their Recollections brand) all the card stock I used is from MFT. Their card stock is a true heavyweight card stock and I refuse to use cheaper/lighter card stock - not just for wedding invites but all my card making. I can always tell the difference when looking at it let alone the feel of it - the better quality always stands out!

I designed the inside with all the info in Photoshop. Sorry I don't share that in the video (don't even know how to do that), and I didn't take note of which fonts I used either. I'm pretty sure they were all purchased fonts - especially the script one. I used white out on all the personal info - the real invites are much cleaner of course ;).

I stamped snowflakes with silver ink onto the insides and on the envelopes as well - in real life they have such a nice shimmer and it ties it all together with the die cut snowflakes on the front.

MFT November Release Rewind

Whew! I feel like the last week has been a whirwind with all the release fun every day, and now it's already time for the DT to play Release Rewind today and tomorrow to show off projects using some of the new MFT November products we hadn't had a chance to use yet!

Even though I'd used the new Sweater Stitch Background stamp during the countdown I wanted to use it again - this time with multiple inks to create an ombre effect.

I basically just held the ink pads on an angle and starting at the top with the lightest color I tapped on the ink, then moved on to the next color. They somewhat blended themselves (if you wanted a more blended look you could mist with water but I didn't want to mess with the detail of the stamp - and I kind of like the imperfections) - and I LOVE the bright color of course.

I had a strip left over from trimming down the front so I used it on the inside of the card (waste not want not eh?), and the sentiments are (of course) from the new Cozy Greetings set - LOVE those!

This is a 4-Bar Sized Card

For my second card I pulled out the new Warmest Wishes stamp set - it's so cute :).

I stamped the girl with Black Licorice hybrid ink and die cut her with the coordinating Die-namics die. While I was coloring her in I was thinking of my own kids in their winter gear - which is always a mish-mash of whatever they feel like wearing - it doesn't matter if it matches or is part of a set. I don't care as long as they're warm! ;)

I stamped the little snowflake cluster from the set onto the card base with Sweet Tooth pigment ink then heat embossed it with some sparkle embossing powder from my stash. The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of card stock I die cut with one of the dies from the new Blueprints 20 Die-namics.

Christmas Card Series #7 2014

The other day I had a little time to "play" so I sat down with this poinsettia stamp from Penny Black (called Sparkler - I don't know if it's available anymore anywhere so I've included some links to stamps that are similar) and pulled out my water color paints. I haven't water colored in FOREVER it seems.

As I was just experimenting I wasn't planning on making a video or anything but decided to film anyway. I had a TON of footage to edit down but I got it all to fit into a decent-length video!

I added Wink of Stella in gold, brown and red to the poinsettia after it was dry for just a little extra shimmer.

New MFT November Products Available NOW!

My cards today all focus on the new Pinking Edge Square STAX Die-namics, and when I made them all I was in a complete CAS (clean and simple) sort of mood:

I paired the Die-namics with the new Sweater Stitch and Swiss Dots Background stamps, and the new Cozy Greetings stamp set.

I stamped the Swiss Dots Background twice on the Grapesicle card stock - once with Sweet Tooth pigment ink and once with Grape Jelly ink. I popped all three pieces up on dimensionals.

For my second card I paired the STAX with the Stitched with Love stamp set and co-ordinating Die-namics - they're practically made to go together IMO.

I used one of the stitching stamps from the Stitched with Love set along all the edges of the Pinking Edge Square die cuts, and mounted them all on a piece of white card stock that I die cut with one of the dies from the new Blueprints 20 set.

Last but not least I went with a Christmas theme - and I was thinking quilts with all these squares.

I stamped the squares with the Nordic Knits stamp set and bumped them all next to each other when adhering them to the card. I stamped the smaller square with the same stamp with Sweet Tooth pigment ink and popped it up on a dimensional.

MFT November Countdown Day 1

I ended up making 2 cards for today - I couldn't stop after one. I LOVE this new Be Original stamp set and All-Star High Tops Die-namics dies - SO many ways to use them.

For this one I pulled out the new Arrows Abound stencil and created my own ink mist with some drops of Gumdrop Green dye ink refill in a Mini Mister and added some water (I didn't measure just eyeballed it - maybe 10 drops max and then filled the mini mister till it was about 3/4 full).

I then taped down the stencil over some Smooth White card stock and sprayed over it with my ink mix and this was the result. It dried quickly, and while it dried I did the same thing to the inside of the card.

After creating the sneaker with the All-Star High Tops Die-namics (if you watch MFT's product video on that I show how I put this one together in it), I threaded through some white hemp cord for the "laces" and tied it in a bow.

I finished off the inside with the stencil and spray like I said and stamped the sentiments and icons from the Be Original set - love all the mixing and matching you can do with them!

For my second card I kept things a little simpler but stuck with the same color combo.

I wound up a bunch of thick black cord and adhered it behind the sneaker before matting it with a Pinking Edge Square STAX Die-namics die cut.

And then finished the inside with more sentiments and the heart from the Be Original stamp set and called it a day!

I used the new Stitched With Love stamp set and Die-namics for this card, along with the Sweater Stitch background and the Pinking Edge Square STAX Die-namics.

I die cut the needle from some Ranger foil card stock, and threaded some thick black thread through the button and eye of the needle for a little somethin' somethin'.

I finished off the inside by stamping another couple of sentiments from the Stitched with Love set and one of the sewing stamps from the set and that was it!
