Well if you missed anything the new October products were released Tuesday night at MFT, and today and tomorrow the team is playing "Release Rewind" - basically getting a chance to play with some of the new goodies that we haven't had a chance to show as much love to!
Make sure to check out the MFT blog for links to the other DT members playing along today, and then there will be more tomorrow so check back to their blog for that too!
I decided to pull out the Jingle All the Way stamps and Die-namics for both of my cards - I think this set is adorable and wanted to play some more with it.
I combined the latest Wednesday Sketch Challenge for my first card:
And here's what I came up with:
I stamped the Gumdrop Green card stock with the new Fine Chevron Background using Sweet Tooth Pigment ink, and stamped one of the sentiments from the Jingle All the Way set onto the Steel Grey card stock with the same ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
After coloring in the reindeer with Copics I thought it would be a cut touch to add some bells to the card - so I tied a couple of little gold bells to a bow of bakers twine and sewed it to the tab before adhering it to the card. SO cute - totally impractical for mailing but if I was planning on mailing it I'd pop the card in a padded envelope and it would be fine.
I stamped another sentiment from the set, this time with Gumdrop Green ink, then added another stamped and colored reindeer image that I die cut before adhering to the inside of the card.
For my second card I mixed things up a little bit and went with a 4-Bar sized card (3.5 x 4 7/8"), and pulled out the new Herringbone Bricks stencil for the card base. I applied the stencil on an angle and spread some white embossing paste over it. While that dried I die cut some Red Hot card stock with one of the Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics and stamped and embossed the 'Merry Everything' sentiment from the Jingle All the Way Set.
My die cut and colored santa is popped up on an Action Wobble - if I knew how to make GIF's I totally would so y'all could see it in action - so fun. Katelyn loves this card - I managed to keep her from mangling it so I could get the pics (*note to self - show 16-month-old cards AFTER they've been photographed...).
I finished off the inside with another colored and die cut santa - with both I added Frosted Lace Stickles to their hats and beards - it adds a fun texture. I stamped another sentiment from the Jingle All the Way set and that was it!
